Honestly, I do not know of many indexes that aren't alphabetical to full extent.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis is for if we find any.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Right now I'm looking at those listed on my troper page, and there are quite a few to fix.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. Then copy the list here, please. There's no point in making a long-term projects thread that's as nebulous as this one is.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Well I'm doing those pages myself, because I wrote them up. But I can post those that I've fixed so far. Just give me a little bit.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. That I've fixed:
- Abridged Series Tropes
- Angelic Tropes
- The Beautiful Tropes
- Bejeweled Tropes
- Coming Attractions
- Dresses, Gowns and Skirts
- Family Twists Index
- Fandom
- Femininity Tropes
- Garnishing the Story
- Hard-Drinking Tropes
- Help! Help! This Index Is Being Repressed!
- The Index Team
- Indexed and Nerdy
- Luxury Tropes
- Magical Girl Tropes
- Masculinity Tropes
- Mecha Tropes
- Mink Becomes This Index Most
- Motor Vehicle Tropes
- A Nice Jewish Index
- Partial Nudity Tropes
- Party at My Index
- The Power of Index
- Princess Tropes
The primary purpose of these threads is to make a centralized place where people can find the information they need to help with ongoing projects. What you have done is said "Oh, if you see any of these please fix them." That's not what this section of the forum is really for. That's standard wiki-tidying.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Okay, if that wasn't the way to do it. Sorry about that. On the "Ask the Tropers" discussion, after Eddie said indexes shouldn't be listed a certain way, the troper who made the query said that most indexes would need repair, and Eddie said that was true. So I assumed that would be good reason to make a thread for it.
Again, if that's not the proper way to do it here, I'm sorry about that.
Is there a proper way?
EDIT: Plus I also have some questions, such as does this apply to sub index lists, such as in Elements of Nature, or sub works, like in the Toys index.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I'm not sure there is. Basically, we've just gotten a NEW rule for indexes, and most people won't know that rule. I was about to do Useful Notes, and I went, "ughhhh"; I need to open an excel document to quick-sort for me.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Well I guess this thread could start with discussing ways to spread the awareness (although I'm not sure if the rule is that new, as I've seen it elsewhere).
Although if that works, this thread might have to be moved to an appropriate section.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Question: Does this mean that Military Science Fiction needs to be re-arranged? Right now works by the same author (some of which don't have individual work pages) are grouped together as 2nd level bullets under the author name.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpBased off of Eddie's rationale in ATT, I think this is only meant to apply to trope indexes.
Last Words lists a whole bunch of tropes under Famous Last Words, which is under issue.
Text Tropes has a section on subtitles, which I think should get its own index.
I fixed Subverted Innocence.
For every low there is a high.
In "Ask The Tropers", Eddie declared that indexes shouldn't indent sub tropes under their super tropes, but should be listed outright alphabetically.
The good old alphabet will help people find the entry in the index list. Let's stick to it.
So this thread is where we note some indexes that improperly list tropes, and fix them.
