It's literally just a gag line from Tara, she's a huge Gadfly when it comes to characters she's voiced, even saying Rikku and Yuna from Final Fantasy X are Kissing Cousins.
As for the AppleDash fanart, it's no secret Ashleigh ships her two characters, but since it's not directly IN the work, it's not Ho Yay.
It's kind of like saying Emma Watson from the Harry Potter movies signed some Harry x Ron fanart. They may ship the two, but it's not even subtext, just a friendly poke at that ship.

Fair warning: I can get pretty emotional and take things too seriously.I feel like unless she’s talking about the subtext in a specific moment, it shouldn’t count. Actors can ship characters for whatever reason.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Removed it.
The Ashleigh thing seems like Approval of God and the Tara thing could be Teasing Creator.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Moved them to Trivia. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic as those items.
On HoYay.South Park, there are a lot of moments that are unintended as LGBT subtext:
- Clyde hugging and affectionately squeezing Cartman at the end of "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000", although this may in fact be due to Cartman's return from juvenile hall and, therefore, Clyde no longer has to be the "fat kid". <— If that's the case, then it isn't Ho Yay.
- In the beginning of "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", Bebe is shown holding Wendy's hand as she takes her to see Paris Hilton in person. <— Really? A lot of best friends hold each others hands in a non-romantic way.
- In "Something You Can Do With Your Finger", Wendy chooses Annienote to fall for her in the boys' Fingerbang band and as a result Annie is shown touching/rubbing on Wendy, clearly interested. <— She probably didn't know that the " guy" she was touching was actually a girl.
- Stan and Kenny have their share, too. In "Kenny Dies", Stan is the most upset about Kenny's illness, and later Kyle tells Stan that Kenny's last words were "Where's Stan?" <— Again, Heterosexual Life-Partners, not Ho Yay.
I'm willing to cut 1 and 2 and maybe 4, but I'll make an argument for 3. They were specifically trying to replicate the Chick Magnet vibe of boy band videos, and I don't remember if they made it clear that Annie didn't know the fifth "guy" was Wendy.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah. You should be on the lookout for intended gay subtext being called Ho Yay, because that's misuse.
Wait yeah cutting a Ho Yay entry for that reason seems really confusing.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesI've restored the deleted examples.
There is something worth questioning about whether kids hugging and holding hands is enough to count as Ho Yay.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. You would be surprised how many people think that after all the trope is an Audience Reaction.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesTBF, it's South Park, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessTrue — Tweek and Craig holding hands is visually treated as a big romantic milestone when they become a couple, so maybe the Bebe/Wendy example is valid given that context.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Let's see how much I can take care of on HoYay.Strike Witches before I have to leave for my appointment.
- There's Yoshika's....shall we say, interesting... dream about Lynette, not to mention that Perrine clearly has a thing for Mio.
- As of season 2 and the movie, Perrine's over the crush.
- Not so much that Perrine is over her crush with Mio, more that her feelings of jealousy and paranoia of Mio being "taken away" as her romantic interest have ended and she's more mellowed into more reserved respect and romantic fondness. She did rub her face on the broom that Mio flew, asked Mio to join her in the open bath, and at the end of the 2nd Season flew into the Major's arms in a big glomping hug.
- Don't forget the way Sanya always finds her way into Eila's bed after her night shift—and how Eila is in obvious adoration of Sanya. "Doesn't it make your heart throb?" indeed.
- Heck, in an interview, the creator even described their relationship as "basically a junior high school boy who is hesitant on how to tell the girl he loves how he feels". Can't get more blunt than that.
- Eila finally confesses to Sanya in the 501st Joint Fighter Wing Take Off! Movie
- In 501st Joint Fighter Wing Take Off! Eila outright has an Imagine Spot where she is getting married to Sanya in a Church with Sanya in a bridal gown and herself in a tuxedo.
- Even more, in the "What If" series of tweets, we have Sanya's case:
She was afforded the liberty of obtaining long-term leave or even to step down from the front lines if she so wished, but instead after she met briefly with her parents she returned to the night sky. The sky which her beloved flew in.- Let's not forget Minna's feelings for Mio, either.
- Based on the events in Episode 8, Minna probably transferred her feelings for her old boyfriend (including concern for his safety) to Mio.
- To elaborate: Minna and Mio have also had a great deal of romantic shades between them what with the two of them working together to ensure the 501st works well as a unit, as well as acting as close friends and confidants to a very deep and intimate degree, and at seeing Minna's concern for Mio and Mio's concern for Minna's state of mind and amusement at Minna's feelings towards her when she is finally forced to see them speak considerable volumes. The 2nd season only enforces this to a stronger degree with Minna's drunken spree and kissing Minna... and Minna in turn contemplating Mio kissing her on the beach and Minna comforting Mio when at a moment of great emotional weakness. Their relationship is an emotional roller coaster at times to be sure, but it also shows the strength of the bond they share with each other and as a consequence while a sizable amount of the fandom ships them as much as they do.
- In season 3, Gertrud freaks out when Hartmann gets shot down behind enemy lines and goes all out to save her against a powerful new Neuroi type. But when she briefly believes Hatmann has died when spotting a dummy Hartmann left out too fool the Neuroi into thinking that, she loses the will to live until Hartmann is able to signal to her.
- As of season 2 and the movie, Perrine's over the crush.
- While the level of Les Yay seems to have been tuned down from the original Strike Witches, there are still some small instances:
- After episode 4, Nao starts behaving a lot like a classic Tsun Dere towards Hikari.
- Episode 6 mainly centers on Sasha, but her relationship with Nipa also gets highlighted, culminating in a scene where she cries on Nipa's chest.
- Krupinski is a canon womanizer, and in most of her appearances you can find at least one moment in which she flirts with a girl, or expresses a desire to meet a cute one.
- Episode 8 has her at first unenthused about an escort mission...until she did a quick 180 when shown a picture of a cute Witch who would also be participating.
- At the end, she gets her wish of getting to spend time with her.
- The Eye Catch for this episode features Krupinski in a "morning after" scene with another girl visibly in the background. (it's Rossmann)
- In the Brave Witches OVA: she even tries to give flowers to and romance Sanya all the while Eila tries to intercept her out of Eila's expected jealousy towards anyone "looking at Sanya"; and doing so at wandering into the bedroom when Sanya was in her underwear. While it dosen't necessarily take, Krupinkski, undeterred; attempts to then romance Eila. Their is a reason Waltrud strongly carries her reputation of being a womanizer.
- Episode 8 has her at first unenthused about an escort mission...until she did a quick 180 when shown a picture of a cute Witch who would also be participating.
- And then of course theirs Gertrude and her sister Chris. I know some may argue that it's just a sisterly love, but given some of tone she takes in regards to talking about her little sister, plus the fact that their real life counterparts were married... I think it's safe to assume, (as a good number of Gertrude Fan's agree) that Trudey is a major sis-con. First person writing and it's definitely more than unintentional subtext here
- At the very least the other Strike Witches tease her about it, although Gertrud denies it. Third level bullet

That was quicker than I thought. Took me ten minutes, and I still have almost an hour to kill.
My troper wallAs a side note, would anyone object to me moving all of HoYay.New Game to HomoeroticSubtext.New Game? I'm familiar with the work and it's pretty damn obvious that all of this is intentional.
My troper wallTook a brief glance, and I'd say go ahead.
I removed this from Jellystone! since this seems to be intentional:
- Shazzan gets flirty texts from Mildew Wolf, much to the former's annoyance.
Somebody more familiar with the work might want to check and see if the rest of the examples apply.
I mentioned it ages ago, but holy shit does HoYay.Channel Awesome need work. It's probably half deliberate Homoerotic Subtext (i.e. gay jokes), half creepy real life examples sexualizing Doug's interaction with random congoers. It's sprinkled with gushy natter too... with a lot of gushing about rape jokes in particular. And near the end of the page they just gave up on even formatting the page right. The only reason I can't cut a lot myself is cuz I don't know many of these old (often obscure) clips or how in-character and deliberate they are.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Honestly the fact that real life people are being shipped like fictional characters is disturbing enough. The rest seems intentional so I'd axe the page, moving intentional stuff to Homoerotic Subtext like The Runaway Guys page.
Keep in mind, while the NC IS playing a character unlike The Runaway Guys, it's more or less intentional on every front. Doug has never admitted he's bicurious from what I know, Spoony is a textbook Troll or The Gadfly and others just seem weird. "Nerd on Critic action!" what kinda kinky roleplay are these fangirls into?!
On that note: Survivor Just... No. It's a reality show that's bound to have plenty of misuse, but again it's shipping real life people who are not characters.

Fair warning: I can get pretty emotional and take things too seriously.Everytime I hear about the problem Critic pages I just think "the fuck was this fandom on?" I know fandoms can be bad and weird but what?
Uh, anyway, I agree with what said. Migrate the intentional examples (probably with rewrites) to Homoerotic Subtext, torch everything else.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Doug has some Adam Westing going on in some appearances, but all the gay jokes and teasing seem to be purely intentional. Speculating otherwise becomes creepy. The character stuff with Critic and Nerd doesn't matter as much cuz they are pretty strictly characters.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.- Les Yay: Rosemary/Sage have a lot of moments together.
- There are a couple of scenes where the girls are holding hands, hugging, and leaning on the other’s shoulders. The first episode also includes them sleeping together a couple times.
- Rosemary’s crush on Aster amplifies the possible ship teasing between the two. Sage has a hard time accepting her friend’s crush and she keeps grumbling about it to Snapdragon. She doesn’t help her case by showing her disdain of guys and thinking that guys wouldn’t understand her relationship with Rosemary.
- At one point Snapdragon, who has spent a good portion of the show being the "Sage complains about Rosemary" sounding board, straight up just asks if Sage has a crush on Rosemary. Sage blushes fiercely, and stutters out that no they are just friends, before staring off and blushing again, all of which keeps Sage's feeling ambiguous.
From what I understand, this show has a ton of overt LGBT representation, so I'm pretty sure this is actual Ship Tease (as the examples themselves bring up).

Question about this from HoYay.My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic that was brought to this thread and cut.
I get removing it as it's not unintended subtext. But if so I'm confused why the Word of God intentional Ship Tease between them in the Series Finale and intentional subtext between AJ and Rarity in the Equestria Girls series are still listed? Also from the page:
- Even her VA, Tara Strong, is getting in on it. Claiming that Twilight's "deep dark secret" is her crush on Pinkie Pie when asked at the MLP Panel at San Diego Comic Con 2018.
Was is kept because it's not in a capacity that's presumed as serious unlike the other? Is it not Ho Yay because it's not about subtext in the work itself? Not within plausible deniability like the retained examples? Or was there some other reason?
That there actress is aware and approves of the ship is likely a reason for the subtext in their interaction and contributed to it being upgraded to Ship Tease in the finale. Even if not Ho Yay it's seems relevant/contributing enough to it that it should be mentioned somewhere. Ideas where? Approval of God?
