Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

That one was already discussed and never concluded.
Evening worklist:
- Insontis: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Son of Suns Trilogy: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Wadanohara: Stub work page; creator messaged.
Sorry to bother you; I was playing in the new tool and found a stub work page: Hetalia International
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Well, it's no bother - while I am the major operator of this thread I don't have a monopsony here. I'll process it along with the other pages.
Also, worklist:
- Disposable Cast: Going to need more input. Right now it's a stub with
- Noble Confederate Soldier: Still needs indexing and crosswicking.
- Soccer Mom: Also, in its regard do we agree on a minimum 3 examples rule for tropes as well? I am multitasking at the moment and that part of my brain isn't up and running properly yet.
Disposable Cast can benefit from some Example Farming, to meet the minimum 3 tropes, and grow some. Soccer Mom starts as a Useful Notes and turns into a useless description. The "information" is basically Stepford Smiler, and doesn't give a real definition for fictional portrayals.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Yeah, remind me to cutlist that page.
Today's worklist:
- Majo no Shinzou: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Snic nd the OSrailian resrant: Blanked with the reason "Lost all changes, will recreate tomorrow. "
Can I just facepalm and go 'wha?' at that page blanking reason? It doesn't seem logical to me.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettOne-Tract Mind: Launched with two hats, an anemic description, and not much crosswicking.
Also, the name is really non-indicative. I'd assume it's just someone who always is focused or obsessed on a particular subject, but it's actually a politician who is on a single issue platform, or some other public figure who always works a pet issue into a speech.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Disposable Cast and Soccer Mom can both go. If someone wants to re-YKTTW them feel free. Snic nd the OSrailian resrant has been recreated as a stub; messaged them.
On One-Tract Mind, that page was launched more than 4 years ago. Maybe put a copy through YKTTW?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanToday's worklist:
- Aldnoah.Zero: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Vitalyzd Tv: Stub work page; creator messaged.
Civilization Of Omnidisciplinary Geniuses seems to have been made without YKTTW. Oldest edit is November. 4 wicks, zero inbounds, and just sloppily done, with separate sections for aversions and inversions, and the examples aren't good.
Not exactly sure how it differs from Proud Scholar Race Guy and this YKTTW, as well.
I basically don't see its value.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I agree with Larkmarn. The only thing I have to say in its favor is at least the Example Indentation appears to have been done properly.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettToday's worklist:
- Civilization Of Omnidisciplinary Geniuses: I agree with removing it, but we'll need some input.
- A Fanciful Dream: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Mobbles: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Pretender: A couple of ZCE, added by a person who was already suspended once for that.
- Time Machine (Data East): They have a ZCE issue; I've messaged them one last time, if the issue persists I'll file a report.
I'll file off Noble Confederate Soldier as done since I don't have the strength to do more work there on my own. For Disposable Cast and Soccer Mom, I'll hold off until the cutlist has been processed.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSeptimus Heap, you suggested to me that my article about Origin was unfinished. Is it finished now, or do I still have work to do?
Origin looks much better to me. Just a few things:
- Call-Back: Several things will be familiar to players of the original.
- Retcon: Some things you thought were familiar are totally different now.
Don't do that. Retcon should get its first bullet own entry.
Also, you need to fill out several entries with examples. As they stand, they don't explain how the trope is used, just that it is, which makes them effectively Zero Context Examples. One explanation per entry is all that's necessary for it to match wiki standards.
There's a couple other things Septimus knows more then me about and will probably comment on.

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettWell, today, three things to note:
One, about Origin, Crosswicking is missing.
Two, given some issues I've run in in the past month, I'll note that I usually don't cutlist tropes without some significant consensus. I've received little input on any tropes that were brought up, which is problematic.
Last, today's worklist:
- A Phaery Named Phredde: A reposted stub. It's got tropes now, but still very ZCE.
- Ris Grestar: Stub work page; creator messaged.
- Sonic Girls: Stub work page; creator messaged.
Also, Enemy At School, a new stub trope with little effort put into it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCut Enemy At School with extreme prejudice. It's poorly written, badly formatted, and the description is rambling, nigh unto incoherent.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Not much to comment upon today so far, except that Enemy At School has been expanded but is still fairly poorly done - no crosswicking and the example quality is just bad.
Also, Civilization Of Omnidisciplinary Geniuses is still up for cut consideration - for duplication with Proud Scholar Race Guy.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCut both of them. Second Shanghai Slave's move to boot Enemy back to YKTTW.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchettthirding suggestion enemy should be booted to YKTTW
City Hunters: sent the contributor a PM already. Told them they need to add tropes and crosswick within a few days and their article should be fine.
Told they're in the wrong namespace: Main.Arite Lange
- May need checking in later, as the "tropes associated" currently look like troping the person, instead of the persona.
Reminded to index and Crosswick: Literature.Put The Sepia On, Webcomic.Stable Quest and Webcomic.Uber Quest

Link to TRS threads in project mode here. Two pages worth mentioning: City Hunters (stub; creator messaged) and Inside The Actors Studio (needs namespacing).
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynmanhttps://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VillainousMasquerade made, by the same person who made Enemy at School. Perhaps mods need to be involved.
Just saw Soccer Mom, only one example.
ok...
