Yeah I sprung for ultimate. It was confusing though because it still offered the DLC packs as separate purchases too so I wasn't certain if they where included or not at first.
Hmm. Five hour install. Looks like I'm not playing online with my current connection strength. >_>
Wow. Jeanne from World Heroes. I remember playing this on the SNES where I choose that one character who was a shapeshifter but I didn't know how to transform into another character so I just attack my opponent in it's puddle form.
Since they're bringing a character from the World Heroes series, I wonder if they will also bring Kisarah Westfield from the World Heroes spin-off, Aggressors of Dark Kombat?
SNK is patching XIV next month

And it seems a new WH manga and soundtrack was also announced.

...Part of me wonders if this is all leading up to a new WH game. It's probally not, but it makes you wonder.
I would love it if SNK made a new World Heroes with what they learned from KoF XIV.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...The art for the WH manga is... interesting

I expected enormous chests but not like that.
Holy crap, after actually playing as Najd I can confirm two things.
She's even cooler than I gave her credit for before. While actually controlling her you notice things like her crouch animation being her telekinetically sitting down or the folds of her coat as she leaps around. This lady is a treasure.
And I will never be able to main her. Every single one of her moves has weird properties that fight against my usual instincts for fighting gameplay.
Also: 58 characters, and a lot of them are new faces. Boy this is gonna take awhile.
If you think Najd is cool, you should see her character sheet◊
A lot of thought and care was put on her. Although I find funny how much leather she uses.
Samsho is planned for Q2 2019 and KOF XV for 2020

Also, seems like SNK Heroes will indeed, be a thing
"SNK Heroes" will probably have a Genderbent Mai Shiranui.
In all seriousness though, SAMURAI SPIRITS COMING SOON NEXT YEAR, FUCK YES!!!
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.HYPE.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Hell to the yeah.
Although I still haven't played as everyone in XIV yet... You know who I'm really surprised that I really like, though? Love Heart. Come for the tough pink pirate look, stay for the surprisingly versatile moveset. (Not that that seems to have rescued her from being low tier.) Mian's really cool too.
I'm actually down for genderbending Mai Shiranui into a Mr. Fanservice just to see the reaction. If a Spear Counterpart of that game does become a reality I want King to show up as-is in a weird play on The Smurfette Principle.

-Sam Sho is aiming for a R-18 rating over graphic mutilation
-XV is using Unreal

Hell yeah Charlotte!
Back onto the topic of King of Fighters XV, who do you guys think will make an appearance there, whether returning or debuting? Me personally, I'm hoping for the American Sports Team, May Lee Jinju, the Ash Team (Consisting of Elisabeth Blanctorche, Duo Lon, and Shen Woo), and the "Mutation Nation" Team.
EDIT: Also a "Buriki One" Team (Consisting of Gai Tendo, Seo Yong Song, and Takato Saionji), a "Garou: Mark of the Wolves" Team (Consisting of Gato, Hotaru Futaba, and Khushnood Butt), Sinclair as a new member of the "Art of Fighting" Team, Tio Ridgemore from Kimi no Yusha as a new member of the "Another World" Team, and Cyber Woo with Yuzu Makishima as part of a new "Robot" Team with two new robot characters.
SECOND EDIT: Oh, and Shingo Yabuki.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I'm actually not too happy about SNK swapping to Unreal for KOF XV, but only if it means that the character models can't be reused. Because that would mean the large roster of XIV, the thing that won me over on the game would be cut down.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...The leak also says that Sam Sho will come out in Q2 2019(which means it could be in EVO 2019, keyword being could) and also confirms a mystery game that features Terry and Haohmaru.

Lemme tell you all the story about how I bought the wrong Samurai Shodown game.
So Samurai Shodown Seven is coming, and that got me in the mood to play some of that franchise. Now, I'm not a huge Samurai Showdown fan but I have sampled the series quite a few times over my life going back to the original arcade releases. I'm not super dedicated to the franchise but I do know my favorite character is Shiki◊ because... Well, look at her. She's a badass. I really wanted to kick some ass as her again.
So I searched for Samurai Shodown on the PS 4 store and found that they do in fact have Samurai Shodown Six. And, not being too knowledgeable about the series, I checked the store description to see if it included a character list and if Shiki was on it. No problem, the store page said it included all the characters from Samurai Shodown one through five plus a few extras. Awesome! Can't wait to play as Shiki!
So I grab the game and immediately toss myself into arcade mode. And I look around for Shiki. But the game starts and randomly makes me play as Wan Fu. What the hell. I restart and go into arcade mode again. Notice I "Picked" Wan Fu because there's a goddamn timer on the character select screen, which is obnoxious given how many characters there are. But I still can't find Shiki. I go on the training mode and go through everyone without a timer holding me back... No Shiki.
What the hell!? Is she unlockable or something? I distinctively remember playing as her in these games! And this game is supposed to include all the Samurai from before!
So I look it up and it turns out Shiki did debut in Samurai Shodown Six... Ty Four. And this is incredibly surreal because that game is your typical blocky 3D game. That makes no sense. I never played that game, and the Shiki I know and love is as 2d as anyone else. Am I hallucinating!?
So as it turns out I remember playing as Shiki in SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos where she was given a 2d sprite treatment. This is what happens when you buy games based on vague more-than-a-decade old memories.
That game didn't even come out on the Nintendo 64. It came out on the Hyper Neo Geo 64, which is why barely anyone has heard of it.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...I don't play the series anymore but I'm kinda worried about KOF & SS coming to the Switch. Nintendo has never been known associate with fighting games despite what Smash would suggest. Then again, if Central Fiction can come to the Switch then why shouldn't KOF & Samurai Shodown? I'm more worried about the sales number than anything else, but I would be lying if I didn't say I didn't appreciate having to play the game on the go.
SNK's Chairman wasn't happy with XIV's graphics
>We were developing KOF 14 for a long time, It was a long-term difficult project, and i believe it was pushed in the wrong direction. the final game turned out good, but it did not produce the wanted results. If it came out in 2013, it would have been okay, but it will was released in 2016 and the graphics did not look 2016.
>The results using UE 4 are much better than expected. Samurai Spirits looks good But I think that KOF 15 is going to look even better as our engine proficiency increases is getting better. KOFXV will be a much better game. (Compared to KOFXIV)
Hearing about the chairman sharing the same sentiments as everyone else on XIV's graphics like...
Everyone Else: "Wooo, we're being heard!" "Well, at least they admit it!"

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.God, I still hate that graphic complaint with a burning passion
I think I was one of the few who defended the game when those people came to kick it.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...
Steam Edition is the vanilla version, Deluxe is the vanilla version with the first DLC pack (Yamazaki, Whip, Vanessa. Rock) and costumes, Ultimate is vanilla, DLC pack 1, DLC pack 2 and DLC costumes.
