A scene taking place in what appears to be a garbage dump, with gray overcast sky. A cute mouse, cockroach, and gecko are exploring the place, looking for scraps of food. As the scene continues, it becomes more and more apparent that the scene takes place in the far future, showing ruins of tall, human buildings overgrown with moss alongside the garbage, and humans themselves are either highly marginalized or have died out altogether.

I'm looking at this in the perspective that Hurt is pretty much the coda of the character surviving instead of dying through suicide.
You and your party/squad has managed to defeat what seemed to be the main villain of the story, but there's something nagging inside you, telling you that it feels too soon for it to end. Your insticts were right, as an even powerful villain appears due to your efforts and has brainwashed everyone who had supported you into his side, leaving you the only one left.
