The Embodiment of Sins (大罪の体現 Taizai no Taigen) is a Dark Fantasy web manga by Malaysia-based artist Harris Illust, available in both English and Japanese.

Ish, the dreaded goblin king, has reaved and pillaged across the land of Sacrimisia for many years, hunted by humanity's Crimson Knights. But one day, he hears a voice coming from a ring he loots from the corpse of a wizard's apprentice he kills during a raid. Out of curiosity, he puts the ring on that night, and is transformed into something halfway between: half-goblin, half-human female.

The first chapter of the comic dropped on 26 October 2022 in English and 1 November in Japanese.

Reader beware that, while this comic is broadly Safe For Work, the artist's Pixiv profile also includes a lot of unrelated (and clearly marked) bondage art, so be careful what you click on when you're reading it.

Tropes:

  • Blood Magic: The Crimson Knights seem to have gotten their name from this: Lady Yuri breaks a vial of alchemically altered blood over her sword while chanting in Latin, which causes it to burst into flames. A panel at the end of the chapter explains that this enables humans to cut through goblins' tough hide and destroys them from the inside.
  • Eye Scream: Ish puts a goblin's eye out with a thumb while fighting his way to safety.
  • Friend or Foe?: Ish's goblins don't believe him when he tries to explain how he was turned into a humanoid female, and he's forced to cut his way to safety through his own warband.
  • Gender Bender: Ish is male, but the ring turns him into a humanoid female.
  • Godiva Hair: Ish spends a couple of pages after his Forced Transformation with his hair covering his breasts until he finds some human clothes among their loot that fit him.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Lady Yuri regenerates from getting cut in half vertically by a goblin during the raid on Ish's lair.
  • Gunpowder Fantasy: The comic takes place in a setting where flintlocks coexist with swords and armor. During the battle between the Crimson Knights and Ish's goblins, the Crimson Knights start with pistols, muskets, and crossbows, and switch to swords in close combat.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: The ring transforms Ish into a half-goblin, half-human form that has the long ears, elongated canine teeth, and horizontal slit pupils of a goblin but the stature and curves of a human female, though the body retains most of Ish's goblin strength.
  • Our Goblins Are Different: The goblins in this series behave more like stereotypical orcs: they're roughly human-sized Proud Warrior Race Guys who follow the strongest of them and violently pillage human settlements for loot. Physically they're green-skinned humanoids with long ears and noses and eyes with horizontal slit pupils. They also never stop growing throughout their lives, which they group in life stages: from birth, "Toh-Yhul" to about age 40, Saht-Ria, they're similar in size to humans, but Bah-Rin (age 41-80) go up to twice the size of humans, Rah-Jha are triple the size, and Rah-Saksha are taller than a tree.
  • The Right of a Superior Species: The goblins believe that being physically stronger makes them better than humans and entitles them to do whatever they like to them. Unfortunately for Ish, this gets turned against him when he's turned into a humanoid.
  • Ring of Power: Judging by a grimoire that Lady Yuri finds on the body of the woman Ish took the ring from, the ring is apparently a "ring of alteration, rendition 12". When Ish puts it on, it vanishes and transforms him into a Half-Human Hybrid.
  • Shapeshifting Excludes Clothing: When Ish puts the ring on, he's fully clothed, but he comes out of the transformation naked without any further explanation than fanservice.
