Trivia / Luna Vachon

Go To

  • Breakup Breakout: From The Daughters of Darkness
  • Creator Backlash:
    • She wasn't keen on a bit she did with Kevin Sullivan where it was claimed she had the Mark of the Beast on her.
    • A mixed tag team match where she teamed with Cactus Jack against Madusa and Eddie Gillbert. The latter was either jet-lagged or hung over and in no fit state to wrestle, so the women had to wrestle the majority of the match. Luna was too new and unable to keep up with Madusa, who had also just come back from Japan and was stiffer than usual.
  • Creator's Pest: Luna felt that she was only kept on for as long as she was because Jacqueline was working too stiff with Sable, and they needed someone to wrestle her. And once Sable had left, she was one of the prominent people testifying against her during the lawsuit.
  • Dyeing for Your Art:
    • She was naturally very thin and frail-looking, and her trainers told her to put more muscle on. She ended up gaining about forty pounds of muscle by the time she was working professionally.
    • Did a segment where The Headbangers and the Insane Clown Posse attacked her and cut off her hair. Unlike when it happened to Sable (who wore extensions), Luna sacrificed her own hair.
  • Hostility on the Set:
    • She had no love for The Fabulous Moolah, who when she was training her, sent the sixteen-year-old Luna to have softcore pictures taken. The photographer allegedly tried to rape her. Luna claimed she left Moolah's camp before she could exploit her further.
    • She and Sable were initially good friends, but Sable's popularity and push to the top of the division led to a falling out between them. She was suspended for getting into a fight with Sable backstage.
    • In this match against Jacqueline, Luna had previously told Jackie to lighten up on her clotheslines (she was known for being incredibly stiff). Although Jackie agreed, she hit Luna with a stiff shot anyway. Luna responded by shooting on her, and the match ended abruptly on a short arm scissors (where it was obvious that Jackie's shoulders weren't down). They continued shooting on each other after the match, to the point the timekeeper had to pull Jacqueline out of the ring.
    • Chyna and her had initially been friendly but fame went to the former's head, and Chyna apparently told Luna she couldn't wear black leather anymore because it was her thing.
  • Playing Against Type: Was primarily a heel in her career but was able to make a face run work with The Oddities in 1998. She also played face for a brief period in 1999.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot:
    • Winona Littleheart was managing Kevin Sullivan along with Woman, but left to go to Japan, and Luna was chosen as her replacement.
    • When she went to Japan, she wasn't getting on with her family, so she only competed as 'Luna' rather than using the last name too.
    • The mixed tag at WrestleMania X had to be rushed into the finish due to time constraints. Not helping matters was Dink being French and couldn't understand what was happening.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: in ECW:
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor:
    • She first left the WWE because she had a drinking problem and they fired her while she was in rehab.
    • She claimed that her final release was based off an incident backstage where she was accused of assaulting Brian Christopher, though she denied it was her.
  • Romance on the Set
    • She dated fellow wrestler Dick Slater.
    • She married fellow wrestler Gangrel, which became Real Life Writes the Plot in kayfabe shortly before she left the WWF.
  • Throw It In!:
    • When she was teaming with Winona Littleheart, they were shopping for potential clothes and found some that were black on one side and white on the other. Thus they wore them as part of the gimmick.
    • Luna refusing to take her clothes off in the Miss Rumble swimsuit contest was one of these, and she got in trouble for it backstage.
  • Troubled Production: Her mixed tag at WrestleMania XIV. Sable proved difficult to work with while they were training, as she refused to learn how to take bumps. Luna was also warned not to disfigure her in any way, as she had a Playboy shoot coming up. She later described it as the most choreographed match she'd ever been part of. Not helping matters was her and Sable's friendship deteriorating as Sable became a bigger star, as while Luna was considered the better wrestler, Sable was far more marketable.
  • What Could Have Been
    • She never intended to get hired by WWF in the early 90s. She had been sending them tapes to get Gangrel hired. The office called one day and asked to speak to her, having seen her doing a splash in one of the tapes, and wanted her straight away. They had actually hired a detective to track her down, as she had mailed the tapes from Puerto Rico but was living in Florida.
    • Right before Sherri Martel was fired from the WWF in 1993, she was stoking a feud with Luna. Too bad it was cut short; it was amazing seeing Sherri and Luna let off the leash at the same time — though the harmonics probably blew out a few television screens.
    • Was supposed to have teamed with Tommy Dreamer and the Pitbulls against Raven's Nest (Raven, Stevie Richards and Dudley Dudley and Big Dick Dudley, w/Beulah McGillicutty) at ECW WrestlePalooza 95, August 5, 1995, but she left before that could happen. Instead, Cactus Jack was made her replacement, leading to his heel turn and his whole anti-hardcore campaign.
    • There were plans to make Luna Women's Champion, which happened to be made while Sable was champion, and Sable repeatedly refused to drop the belt to Vachon. Luna also was meant to have another title match against Sable at St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1999 - but it was cancelled after Luna got suspended for fighting backstage.
    • Mick Foley, having reached out to her following her home being destroyed in a fire, suggested TNA bring her in to manage Tommy Dreamer for the 2010 Hardcore Justice PPV. Luna declined, as she had retired from wrestling three years previously.
