Trivia / Donald Duck: Goin' Qu@ckers

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Gladstone Gander and and Merlock are both played by Corey Burton.
    • Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie are all played by Russi Taylor as per usual.
    • The Beagle Boy boss the player fights in Duckburg and Gyro Gearloose are both played by Frank Welker in this game.
  • Character Outlives Actor: Hal Smith did not reprise his role as Gyro Gearloose from DuckTales (1987) due to the game being developed after his death. As a result, Gyro is instead voiced by Frank Welker.
  • Follow the Leader: Some versions of this game are highly similar to the PSX Crash Bandicoot games, the power orbs act as crystals, there are 3D/2D sections in console versions, as well as a time trial mode required for 100% Completion.
  • In Memoriam: The game was dedicated to the memory of Carl Barks, who died two months before the game's initial release.
  • The Other Darrin: Frank Welker replaces the late Hal Smith as the voice of Gyro Gearloose and Corey Burton replaces Rob Paulsen as the voice of Gladstone Gander and Christopher Lloyd as Merlock.
  • Prop Recycling:
    • While developed by a different team, the first console version quite blatantly recycles the engine from Rayman 2: The Great Escape. Several assets were lifted straight from it including the main menu layout, the menu animations, the load screen animations, and many of the sound effects like Donald's jump and the laser "pew". In a particularly extreme case, the final boss of the game uses the exact same arena layout and attack patterns as the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava boss in Rayman 2, right down to the distribution of his unique attacks across each phase (although the way you fight him back is different).
    • The Game Boy Color version likewise uses the engine of the Rayman games for the portable.
  • Role Reprise: Aside from Tony Anselmo, Tress MacNeille, and Russi Taylor obviously reprising their roles as Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, June Foray reprises her DuckTales (1987) role as Magica De Spell and the Beagle Boy faced in the Duckburg boss fight is voiced by Frank Welker using his Bigtime Beagle voice.
