Anime + Manga

  • Pokémon Origins: Red's main team shown in the Hall of Fame. With the exception of Persian, each one has an elemental power—Charizard has fire, Lapras has water, both Scyther and Dodrio have air/wind and Jolteon has lightning.

Video Games

  • Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider: Four of the Guardians are themed around this with elemental powers to match — Hydromancer, Geocrusher, Flamestalker and Stormdiver. The other four are Photondrifter, Darkchaser, Moonrider and Sunseeker.
  • Shounen Kininden Tsumuji has the five dark ninjas represented by an element in their boss fights. (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Metal).
  • Crystal Story:
    • The first game has Tristam, Kaeli, Phoebe, and Reuben representing elemental fire, wind, earth, and water (well, technically ice), respectively. Ditto with D, Lina, Mari, and Kaz in the sequel.
    • The sequel downplays this, as all four party members can learn all level 1 elemental magic skills, level 2 magic skills of two elements per character, and two elemental "attack" skills per character; one of the elements in the latter two cases is always of each characters' element.

Western Animation

  • The four kings that make up the elements in Tigtone are Metal, Blood, Lightning and Pain.
  • The original four-ninja team of Ninjago control the main Elements of Creation that correspond to the Golden Weapons used to create their world: Kai (fire), Jay (lightning), Zane (ice), and Cole (earth). Water and Wind serve as secondary elements instead, among many others.
  • In Jackie Chan Adventures, Shendu and three of his siblings have these elemental powers while the other four derive their power from thunder, mountain, sky, and moon.
  • The Cluster's Alliance in Shadow Raiders is made of four planets; Fire, Ice, Bone, and (reluctantly) Rock. Planet Water was destroyed at the beginning of the series.
  • Adventure Time has an alternate selection of elements from tradition, and this is represented in their present-day Elementals: Flame Princess is the Fire elemental, Patience is the Ice Elemental, Princess Bubblegum is the Candy elemental and Slime Princess is the Slime elemental. It is later revealed there is the fifth element, Lumps.
  • In the hybrid webcomic/browser game Demon Thesis, the four main characters find themselves gifted with these powers after a mysterious entity from another dimension starts interfering in our world. There is one exception though: Sam's powers are actually over ice rather than water.
