Tropes:

  • Asshole Victim: The two men, Stan and Phil, who got killed both accused a man of child molestation for no real reason at all, turned his sister against him, and killed him in an accidental but predictable manner.
  • Berserk Button: The mere mention of Chester's name is this for Stan's wife.
  • Continuity Nod: Sam's fear of clowns hasn't been mentioned in a few seasons.
  • Killer Rabbit: The first possessed killer has the appearance of one.
  • Mistaken for Pedophile: Chester unfortunately fell victim to the #1 job hazard of working with kids while having a penis.
Chester: I've never hurt your kids! Or anyone's kids! I love kids!
    Stan: Yeah, we know!
  • Mistaken for Suicidal: Stan, Phil and Rita told everyone that Chester's death was a suicide.
  • Monster Clown: The old man who kills the coach is dressed as a creepy clown, which of course ties into one of Sam's deep fears.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Rita blames herself for her brother's death, since she let Stan and Phil's accusations made her doubt Chester, when she should have trusted him. She has live with that guilt. She was just afraid for her son.
  • Oh, Crap!: Stan and Phil when they accidentally dropped Chester.
  • One of the Kids: Chester. He always got along with children better than adults, which unfortunately led to accusations of being a pedophile.
  • One-Steve Limit: Played with. Donna's new love interest Doug shares name and profession with her ex-husband. The similarities trouble her at first.
  • Riddle for the Ages: Chester being a child modestor at all. Though it's strongly implied that he wasn't.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After Chester's accidental death at the hands of the two locals who thought that his love for entertaining children was far worse than that, he comes back to settle the score, in the form of gruesomely murdering both of them, and nearly killing his sister for giving his location up to the two men in fear of him actually being a pedophile before he's finally put to rest.
  • Samus Is a Girl: The person in the harlequin costume.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Donna, concerning Doug who shares the same first name as her ex-husband.
  • Uncomfortable Elevator Moment: Sam has one in a hospital elevator (complete with soft musak) with a clown holding a blood-covered scalpel.
  • Villainous Harlequin: The football team's mascot.
  • White Mask of Doom: The football team's mascot wears a white mask, and she makes the first attempt on the coach's life.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Sam's visibly discomforted while in the elevator with the man in the clown mask.
