Albedo right there!
Written by: Christie Insley

Cody runs away after Mitchell puts a black sweater on him. In order to track him down, the kids learn about albedo — how some things are easier to see in the dark than others, like a shiny asteroid vs. a black sweater. With their knowledge, the kids ensure that Cody will never go missing again.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Why did Mitchell make Cody wear the sweater in the first place? It's never said in the episode, but the most likely explanation was to prevent Cody from scratching fleas.
  • Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: "That we should have asked my mom for hot cocoa?"
  • Call-Back: "Remember when we went to the asteroid belt? We know what asteroids are made of! They're just big rocks floating in space!"
  • Chekhov's Gun: Mindy's glitter. She mentions that she puts glitter on her arts and crafts to make them sparkly. This comes in handy later on; Mindy mentions that she used the glitter to make Cody's collar shinier.
  • Dance-Off: Mitchell mentions that he likes a challenge. Jet then challenges Mitchell to a dance off.
Mitchell: I have no time for your shenanigans, Propulsion.
  • Dance Party Ending: The episode ends with the gang having a surreal dance party.
  • Dramatic Irony: Mitchell is unable to locate Cody, but the rest of the kids knew where he was.
  • Everything's Better with Sparkles: Sparkles helped give Cody's collar a higher albedo.
  • Friendship Moment: As shown in previous episodes, Mitchell thinks that the other kids hate him and tries to distance himself from them, even though he wants to be friends with them. This is shown to be completely untrue in this episode. Out of the kindness of their hearts, they make a reflective collar for Cody so Mitchell will be able to find him easier. Mitchell is genuinely surprised. He nervously thanks the other kids and says it was so nice of them.
Jet: That's what friends are for.
  • Handshake Substitute: Mitchell tries to shake Jet's hand, but they salute each other instead.
  • I Work Alone: Once again, Mitchell rejects help from the other kids in finding Cody, because he thinks detectives are supposed to work by themselves.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite rejecting help from the other kids, Mitchell shows that he's a good person deep inside. He is worried about Cody's disappearance and heavily regrets putting the sweater on him. He's also grateful that the other kids made a reflective collar for Cody.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a parody of "You Can Call Me Al".
  • Pun: Mindy makes one: "Albedo right there!"
  • Series Continuity Error: Mindy claims that she's never been to the asteroid belt. This is blatantly untrue, as she's shown going there in order to get to Pluto in "Mindy Turns Five".
  • Tropey, Come Home: Cody runs away after Mitchell puts a black sweater on him.

Surf's up!
Written by: Rachel Lipman

A fun day at the beach is put to a halt when the kids suspect that someone 'moved' the ocean. They become detectives and investigate what exactly happened.

  • Ambiguous Gender: We never find out the gender of Sunspot's crab companion.
  • Beach Bury: The comic-book montage shows Mindy having a sand mermaid tail.
  • Beach Episode: The whole episode takes place at the beach. The kids go there with the intent to surf, but then they investigate where the ocean went.
  • Drama Queen: Sunspot after the crab goes missing.
  • Face Palm: Sean facepalms after Jet goes to get sandwiches, but leaves them in his fridge.
  • Faint in Shock: Sunspot faints on Dr. Skelley's lap after the crab disappears.
  • Interspecies Romance: Sunspot seems to form one with a crab.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: After Jet finds seaweed, he uses it as a tutu and dances ballet for a bit.
  • Limited Wardrobe: The kids don't even wear swimsuits at the beach. Somewhat justified in this case, as this was likely to prevent attracting certain perverts to the show.
  • Meadow Run: Sunspot does a dramatic, slow-mo run when he sees the crab again, complete with cinematic music.
  • Record Needle Scratch: One is heard when the kids' sandcastle sinks.
  • Shout-Out: The title is a reference to "The Tide is High", famously covered by Blondie and Atomic Kitten.
  • Stock Footage: Stock wave footage is shown when Sunspot surfs, so that the animators won't have to animate ocean waves.
