The kids all meet up to play dodgeball, but feelings must be dealt with when Maya joins the game.

Tropes:

  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Faraday manages to hit Keun Sup speeding around by analyzing where he's going to be.
  • Big "NO!": When Craig dives in front of Kelsey to save her from being hit, she dramatically screams into the sky, only for him to pop back up seconds later completely fine.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: When Craig gets picked to be a team captain, he says that he's "Destiny's Child", and then tells the audience that their parents will know what that means.
  • The Bus Came Back: Maya returns to the creek for the first time since the Capture the Flag game.
  • Dodge Ball Is Hell: Dodgeball is shown as being a ruthless battlefield and J.P. and Maney protest the game.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: J.P., when he talks about how Kelsey entered Craig into the drawing for team captains and mentions the part where she would hurt him if he told Craig.
  • Eye Am Watching You: Done by Kelsey to Craig as the game starts getting heated.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Craig had no idea that Kelsey was behind Bobby, otherwise he would have picked her.
  • Feud Episode: Not only does this episode feature a rare fight between Craig & Kelsey, Omar & Maya’s feud is also brought back up after she makes her first appearance since Capture the Flag.
  • Handicapped Badass: Jackie, aka “the Arm”, known for having the most powerful and accurate throwing arms in the creek, is revealed to be deaf and communicates by using American sign language.
  • Hurl It into the Sun: One of the reasons Craig is so intimidated by Jackie is because he once threw a water balloon into the sun and it exploded…to clarify the sun exploded, not the water balloon. This becomes a Running Gag throughout the episode.
  • Loud Gulp: Craig does one when Kelsey gets ready for an intense battle because he “made the decision to be her opponent”.
  • The Main Characters Do Everything: Lampshaded when Eliza randomly picks Craig's name for team captains, complaining that "It's all about Craig, again!".
  • Mundane Made Awesome: This episode portrays dodgeball as being more intense and high-stakes than it is in real life.
  • Oh, Crap!: Thrice from Craig:
    • The first when Jackie is picked as the other team captain, given his throwing ability.
    • The second when Jackie's first pick is Maya, given how hard she goes at everything.
    • The third is when Craig picks Bobby, thinking he's the only one left, only for him to move aside to reveal Kelsey standing behind him.
  • Picked Last: Subverted. At first it appears Bobby is the only one left to be picked, but after Craig picks him, he realizes that Bobby was blocking his view of Kelsey, to the shock of both.
  • Running Gag: Characters launching objects (or other characters) into the sun, causing it to explode.
    J.P.: (sigh) "Another sun exploded."
  • Splitting Pants: In a Funny Background Event, Boris is shown bending down to pick up a dodgeball and ripping his pants.
  • Super Mode: Bobby eats some candy and turns into Big Bobby to try to help Craig, however he immediately gets taken out.
  • Taking the Bullet: Craig gets in front of a dodgeball that was meant for Kelsey, allowing her to win the game.
  • Transformation Is a Free Action: Subverted. Bobby goes into Big Bobby mode and is about to unleash his fury... when he gets hit with a ball and is knocked out.
  • Translator Buddy: Keun Sup acts as one for Jackie, translating his sign language for the rest of the characters.
  • Twitchy Eye: Craig’s eye starts twitching when he realizes Maya is going to be on Jackie’s team for dodgeball.
