Go To

Original release date: 12/22/2022

Bowser, King Boo, Kamek and the Koopalings are invited to the annual Christmas Party by the mayor of Mushroom City, but decide to not bring Bowser Jr. with them because of his repulsive behaviour throughout the year, leaving him home alone instead. Having heard of all this, except for the part of Junior being home alone, the Shadows decide to raid the castle and steal its riches.

Tropes

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Junior begs Mr. Shivers to rescue him from the Shadows, but because Junior had previously been rude to him, Mr. Shivers refuses, leaving him to be beat up by the Shadows and stuffed inside a present box.
  • Affectionate Parody: Of the first Home Alone movie as a whole.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: If Tryclyde does not need to use the bathroom, he'll have the urge to play videogames in the middle of a heist, angering his teammates.
  • Brick Joke: Bowser Jr. makes a Prank Call to the Marine Castle, claiming that troops from the Kaktus Kingdom attacked the Koopa Castle, causing the Marine Kingdom to send reinforcements against the Kakatus Kingdom. At the end of the episode after the rest of the Koopa family gets back, Bowser yells at Junior that he has started a war against the Kaktus and Marine Kingdoms.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When checking out Roy's magazines, Bowser Jr. wonders why most of them have women on the covers, noting that it's not very manly of him.
  • Copycat Mockery: Bowser Jr. decides to shoot Mechakoopa stand-in of the Koopalings with Roy's Bill Blaster, and starts imitating their voices before shooting them:
Bowser Jr.: Alrighty then, Koopalings... Prepare to meet your end!
(Imitating Larry): Come on, bro! You wouldn't hurt your family, would you?!
(Imitating Ludwig): You'll never be king! I'm stupid and I hate you!
(Imitating Wendy): Oh my God! I can't believe I'm going to die. I must post on my social media with twenty one followers on it.
(Imitating Roy): Please don't kill me, man! My wife who hates me will be sad!
  • Christmas Episode: The premise of the episode is Junior being left home alone during Christmas.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: According to Iggy's story, Old Man Shivers murdered his entire family because they gave him the wrong present during Christmas. When Junior personally meets Mr. Shivers, the latter tells him that the rumors are not true, and that in reality he is a Nice Guy who simply has a stranded relationship with his family, even donating to charity.
  • Driven to Suicide: The Slasher Movie Bowser Jr. watches, Koopa Kingdom Massacre, has the Stock Slasher kill himself at the climax after the Final Girl makes him come to his senses, much to Junior's disappointment.
Bowser Jr.: That's it?! That was bloody crap!!
  • "Home Alone" Antics: Fitting for an Affectionate Parody of the first movie, Junior does this to the Shadows when they try to escape the castle with the riches from the treasure chamber. This includes hacking Clawgrip's armor so that his arm cannon blows up, pouring gravy on Mouser so that Jaws attacks him, dropping cannonballs on Tryclyde and Fryguy, while also making the latter fall into a frozen lake.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Bowser tells the Koopalings that they must behave at the Christmas party in Mushroom City, telling them not to puke over the tables, start a food fight or kiss the mayor. Kamek immediately reminds Bowser that he did all three things the previous year, with Bowser replying that his was a different situation.
  • Kick the Dog: Disappointed at the rumors of Mr. Shivers being a Serial Killer being false and having learned that he is actually a very caring person who donates money to charity, Bowser Jr. insults and mocks him over his wife's death and his stranded relationship with his family. However...
  • Kill It with Water: Junior incapacitates Fryguy by making him fall into a cold lake, extinguishing his flames and encasing him inside an ice block.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Bowser Jr. insulted and mocked Mr. Shivers after learning that he was a normal man with a stranded family relationship instead of a Serial Killer, so when Junior was being threatened by the Shadows and begged him for help, Mr. Shivers refused, leaving him to deal with the problem on his own.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Bowser Jr. was not aware that his family was not planning on taking him to Mushroom City with them. Neither was his mother Karen according to Bowser, most likely out of fear of what her reaction would be.
  • Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: Mr. Shivers. According to Iggy's story, he murdered his entire family because they gave him the wrong present during Christmas, and ever since then is on the look-out for new victims. When Junior meets him however, he is told that those rumors are false, and that in reality he is a Nice Guy who simply had a falling-out with his eldest son, and doesn't see his family as often ever since his wife died. Junior, being Junior, is completely unimpressed by this, and insults and ridicules Mr. Shivers. It comes back to bite him in the ass when the Shadows try to beat him up, begs Mr. Shivers for help, and Mr. Shivers refuses for being an obnoxious and rude brat.
  • Out of Focus: Bowser, The Koopalings and Travis do not have much of an impact in the episode. Justified in that they are out of Dark Valley for the weekend and the episode centers around Bowser Jr. being left home alone while the Shadows try to storm the treasure chamber.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: ...Mr. Shivers gets back at Junior for insulting him by refusing to help him when the Shadows threaten to beat him up.
  • Potty Emergency: Tryclyde constantly needs to use the restroom throughout the episode, as he apparently has a weak bladder.
  • Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: Although Edgar had told the Shadows to not raid the Koopa Castle's treasure chamber, Mouser goes along with the plan anyway, claiming that nothing will happen as long as he doesn't become aware of it.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: During their first trip to the castle, Mouser, Clawgrip, Tryclyde and Fryguy immediately leave after hearing a Bill Blaster being fired, realizing there's someone else with them inside.
  • Stealing the Credit: Although it was Bowser Jr.'s "Home Alone" Antics that prevented the Shadows from fleeing with the riches, Boom Boom ultimately gets the credit from Bowser and the Koopalings for defending the castle. To be fair though, Boom Boom did scare them into retreating.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Larry feels bad for leaving Bowser Jr. behind and not telling him anything.
