Recap / Beast Wars S 2 E 11 The Agenda Part 1

Go To

The final straw broken, the Tripedacus Council sends an agent to the site of the Beast Wars to bring Megatron to heel and end the war. And this agent is a veteran at this sort of thing...

Tropes featured:

  • Blatant Lies: No one (except Cheetor) believes Ravage's claim that the Transwarp Wave had weakened to a point where only the Predacons could detect it but they have no real choice but to work with him.
  • Advertisement:
  • The Bus Came Back: Ravage from The Transformers returns as a Predacon agent.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • The Planet Buster was destroyed, and the Transwarp Wave released, in the first season finale. Footage from the episode is reused.
    • As a result of the attack on their settlement, the early humans have scattered meaning there's now little chance that Megatron can hunt them all down.
  • Cool Ship: Ravage's ship.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • The Predacons pound Sentinel's shield relentlessly causing power losses in the Axalon, its shields to fail as well as managing to take down the automated guns. If Ravage hadn't shown up when he did, the Maximals might have lost the Beast Wars.
    • Bolstered by Ravage's ship, the Maximals easily take the Predacon base. Helps that Tarantulas shut off the power.
  • Foreshadowing: The special assignment that Megatron sends Waspinator on.

  • Godzilla Threshold: Megatron contemplates whether it's time to cross it as he's being increasingly backed into a corner. Optimus lampshades that at the very least Megatron will try and capture the Axalon to use the Maximals as hostages if Cybertron sends reinforcements. Once Ravage's ship begins firing on the Predacons, Megatron decides it's time to time to cross it.
  • Invisibility: Ravage. He can even link with his ship to cloak it.
  • Leave No Witnesses: The Tripredacus Council orders this of Ravage.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Megatron informs Waspinator of his special assignment in full view of Blackarchnia knowing she'll follow him.
  • The Nose Knows: While Ravage is invisible to the visible spectrum, Silverbolt is able to sniff him out.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Cheetor is eager to spend time at Six Lasers Over Cybertron.
    • "Terminate with extreme prejudice."

    • The Pax Cybertronia is reference to the Pax Romana of Ancient Rome.
  • Suddenly Voiced: Ravage never spoke in The Transformers but has a heavy Russian accent here. He did speak in the comics however.
  • This Cannot Be!: Megatron when he's arrested at the episode's end.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Not that Ravage wasn't badass before but he's on a whole new level here.
