"I will RIP the memory of you from this world!"
MK:"Aagh, this is gonna haunt my nightmares forever!"
The appropriate response to the scroll's curse / ink demon, or any of these moments really.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

So, you think just because this show is based around bright and colorful LEGO characters and is filled with plenty of moments of awesomeness and hilarity, it won't be too scary? Well... You'd be surprised.

    Season 1
  • Demon Bull King's rampage in The End is Here! while Brainwashed and Crazy under the strange energy he found sealed away. In the time that MK was away, he and his empowered troops managed to turn the city into an abandoned ghost town with only the main cast left to stand up to him. And neither side is pleasant to deal with.
    • The empowered Bull Clones, which were formerly rather basic minions with a few moments of comedy brought with them, have become much more powerful, effectively allowing them to take over the city in a few moments.
    • Meanwhile, the empowered Demon Bull King himself... Is a complete monster compared to his normal self. The guy has been corrupted and was willing to do whatever it takes to reach his goal, and throughout, an odd whispering could be heard telling him what to do... which includes wiping out his own son and wife when the two tried to stand up to him to stop his berserk state. If it weren't for the three performing an Enemy Mine and MK pulling off a last second distraction and surprise attack, he could have easily killed the two. Anyways, about that whispering voice...

    Season 2
  • If you happen to have a fear of spiders, the Spider Queen will probably invoke this just as often as much as poor MK. Considering how close she has come to defeating the cast on several occasions such as in her debut episode and Revenge of the Spider Queen, it can be quite daunting to think about.
    • When Tang and Pigsy are cornered by the Huntsman in the Celestial Realm alchemy lab, Tang throws a random potion at him, hoping to slow him down. The jar breaks on the floor, opening a glowing red portal while...something shoots out some kind of vines or tentacles that quickly ensnare Huntsman and pull him into the portal. Although he emerges fine a few moments later, he's clearly terrified of whatever monstrosity is down there, and the audience may be inclined to agree.
  • LADY BONE DEMON, full stop. While the Demon Bull King tends to be more like a Bowser when he's not in a blind rage, and Spider Queen at least has her moments of levity with her quirky henchmen, this villain is nothing like them, and throughout the series, she makes this very clear that she's the peak of the villains here, stringing along Spider Queen for her own malicious goals.
    • Her acts in The End is Here! showcase a hint of what she's capable of before she even introduces herself, causing Demon Bull King's berserk rampage listed above, and after that fails, she takes over a little girl who was just looking for her cat.
    • Meanwhile in Revenge of the Spider Queen, she empowers both the queen and her spider drones, causing a borderline Zombie Apocalypse as her upgrade allows for the queen's drones to take over people and become her unwitting servants. And she happens to spring her drones in the middle of the New Year's parade, allowing for her to get a HUGE amount of the city taken over in the process. As for the Queen herself... She was able to capture both Demon Bull King AND Monkey King (The latter having Lady Bone Demon distract him briefly before the queen made her move), draining them and several citizens of their life until Monkey King managed to use Demon Bull King's Berserk Button to free them, and as mentioned above, nearly managed to take down the entire case until Monkey King and Demon Bull King arrived to join in the battle.
      • However... Before this, she and Monkey King have an encounter... And it's less than pleasant, with none of Monkey King's attacks landing on her, as she proceeds to make a rather severe threat with a vision, which was preceded by the Jump Scare and quote in the page image, of her on a massive bone mech, watching the city burn in bright blue flames... and MK screaming in pain as he's disintegrated alive as the mech attacks, causing the planet to explode. To say her threat left the usually jovial Monkey King shaken is an understatement.
    • The Lady Bone Demon's first 'fight' with MK in Minor Scale, which largely consists of her straight up Mind Raping him and manhandling him while giving him a Breaking Lecture, all the while Ominous Visual Glitches flash everywhere, almost as if reality itself doesn't know what to think of her. If it weren't for Spider Queen intervening at the last second to attack MK, she could have easily killed MK right there.
  • The display of Sandy's true power in "To Catch a Leaf". The Huntsman has been trying to get him to unleash it through their entire confrontation, curious if the rumors about his strength were true. Sandy tries to talk Huntsman down to avoid a fight, but all bets are off when Huntsman attacks and injures the animals Sandy befriended. Power literally radiates off Sandy as he unleashes his potential, sending Huntsman flying backwards from the shock wave alone. It's very clear when Sandy winds up his punch that Huntsman thought Sandy was going to kill him then and there. Fortunately, Sandy holds back and allows him to leave unharmed, which he does in a panic.
Sandy, in a echoing, bottomless voice: What's wrong? Isn't this what you wanted?!
  • In "72 Transformations", the "Mayor" picking off all of the Spider Queen's minions, one by one. While we don't get to see exactly what happens to them, we do at least hear Syntax screams.
  • Near the beginning of "This is the End", the once proud Spider Queen, in spite of her previous bravery when helping MK against the Lady Bone Demon in "72 Transformations". Upon capture, she's understandably terrified and even goes so far as to try and plead for her life. Which sadly, doesn't do her any good. Since she's quickly tossed into the magical furnace a moment later.
Spider Queen: But, but I got your ingredients! I, I'm the Queen! You promised me my destiny!
Lady Bone Demon: A promise I did not break, my Queen. This is your destiny.

    Season 3
  • In "Great Grand Dragon of the East", Macaque's arrival at the Dragon of the East's underwater city. It takes seemingly little effort for him to breach the palace defenses. Macaque then goes so far as to mock Mei's distant uncle before attacking him directly. Something Monkey King himself was hesitant to do. The last we see of the city; Macaque has apparently flattened the entire area. Leaving the fate of Mei's great, great a thousand times great uncle Ao Guang, along with all the people who were living within the city, unknown.
  • In "The Winning Side", Macaque creates a copy of the heroes' van to separate the team, which is revealed in a delightful creepy manner. Pigsy and MK both attempt to talk to one another from their respective places in the van, only to get no response — and once Sandy notices Mo is missing, MK realizes something’s up and checks the front seats... to find no one driving the van. At the same time, Pigsy tries to tell Sandy to take care of a freaked-out Mo, and realizes that he, Mei and MK aren’t in the back — and the shot splits to show two versions of the van, driving in opposite directions.
    • Following this, Macaque ups the horror factor by using his shadow powers to rearrange the van’s physiology and captures Sandy and Mei in the darkness (the former of which he lures away by pretending to be Mo), leaving MK completely at his mercy.
  • Starting from the second episode of the season, Mei begins to have terrifying visions that connect her to the Samadhi Fire in some way; flashes showing the city and unclear figures being consumed by flames, and then seeing herself in the centre of the destruction as a horrifying embodiment of the Fire’s power. She’s understandably really freaked out by these visions and has no idea what they mean or why they’re happening...until the final episode, where the visions turn out to be a premonition of her being forged with the Fire and becoming an Apocalypse Maiden, unwillingly burdened with the power to destroy the entire universe if she loses control — which she almost does.
  • The origin of the Samadhi Fire, as revealed in "The First Ring" - Red Son was born with this immense power that could potentially burn through the very fabric of reality. As the fire grew stronger, it was clear he couldn't control it, so his parents decided to remove it. There are a few brief flashbacks of toddler Red Son slowly being consumed by his power, which involve him laughing maniacally and hitting himself in the face, all shown through a jagged red and black filter. It's terrifying enough to watch a child hurt themselves, but when it's because there's a world-ending power inside them that could potentially destroy anything it touches, the child included, you can hardly blame DBK and Iron Fan for sealing the power away.

    Season 4
  • Pretty much every second The Curse is onscreen, manifesting as a mass of black ink that takes the forms of various enemies and allies seen before, only completely black and with ominous glowing eyes.
    • It's very first appearance in Familiar Tales has it consume several monkeys followed by Monkey King himself, only being stopped by the barrier around his home, feeling less like a villain and more like an oncoming flood. Adding to the creepiness factor, it manifests several screaming faces as it presses against aforementioned barrier, conveying the sense of dread that it cannot be stopped, only contained.
    • It's encounter with MK in Pitiful Creatures may just match his first encounter with the Lady Bone Demon in terms of scare factor, with it manifesting as a physical copy of MK, complete with his own voice, albeit with more monkey characteristics just to rub salt in the wound of his newly discovered origins. It then proceeds to lay into him with a vicious Breaking Speech as it smacks him around the landscape, taunting him over his belief that he can do good as he is forced to listen to his own face and voice say such things in an unhinged manner.
  • While demons in the modern age are relatively peaceful (with most demons able to live in human society without issue), Season 4 shows that it was a different story in the past. Humans were regularly captured and eaten by demons, and their homes were often ravaged. It's little wonder why Azure Lion and the Lady Bone Demon grew infuriated with the Celestial Realm's passivity on the matter.
  • Throughout "The Emperor's Wrath" special, it's clear that Azure is in agony. Even though he keeps trying to deny it. No matter how much he tries to brush it aside, the others quickly realize something is terribly wrong with him.
    • It goes further than that. The Jade Emperor's power is ripping him apart, and it only gets worse the longer he ignores it. By the time he actually starts using the power the way it was meant to be used, it's gotten so out of control that it starts melting Azure from the inside out. It is a slow death, and the whole time Azure is howling in agony. Azure Lion's demise easily takes the cake for the most gruesome on-screen death in the entire show.
  • In "New Adventures", Azure claims that he and the brotherhood created Camel Ridge to be a glorious utopia. A place where mortals could live in peace and safety. And that the Celestial Realm did not approve of the "competition". Sending Monkey King to attack the group and ruin their work. However, in "A Lifetime of Mistakes". Macaque clarifies that creating Camel Ridge literally drained every living thing nearby of energy. Leaving the surrounding area, a lifeless and baren wasteland. Even after committing such an act, Azure still sees himself as the hero.
