Vindicated by One, Heart for All is a My Hero Academia fanfic by DevilJoker and Mrotrax. It can be accessed on Fanfiction Dot Net here.

In a twist of fate, Izuku Midoriya is born with All for One, the very same power wielded by Japan's most infamous villain. Despite the dark history surrounding his power, Izuku strives to use it for good by taking power away from those who would abuse it and give it to people who need and/or deserve it the most. With the help of his friends, Izuku will prove to everyone that no Quirk is inherently good or evil; only those who use them are.

Vindicated by One, Heart for All displays examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: Izuku wields All For One and has had extensive crimefighting experience as a vigilante.
  • Adaptational Job Change: Hisashi is a lawyer instead of an overseas worker like in canon.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Bakugo is still Izuku's friend by virtue of supporting him through thick and thin even while others see Izuku as a future supervillain.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Instead of One For All, Izuku possesses All For One.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Nanako, Okabe, and Himeri are all examples of this trope.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Quite a few of Izuku's friends have Quirks that seem scary yet are good people at heart.
    • Quasi M. Felidae has a Quirk based around the legend of the black cat and the misfortune it supposedly brings, yet is a Perky Goth who laughs off the harassment he faces thanks to his great self-esteem and supportive family.
    • Fen Su is a Mafia Princess with a spider Quirk who dreams of the days when the Yakuza can be a force for good in the same manner as Robin Hood and Kazuma Kiryu.
    • Yami Hebijo is basically a genderbent Orochimaru but seeks to be a hero.
    • Gani Morcoba resembles Ghost Rider in all but name but is quite friendly and ready to crack jokes at the drop of a hat.
    • Renji Fangei has a pitch-black head that is featureless minus two glowing red eyes and ghostly flame-like black hair but is overall a good person despite his unsettling appearance.
    • Tenshiro Nogra is big and scary-looking enough to be mistaken for a slasher movie villain (especially with his mask) yet is a sociable man with a love for reading books.
  • The Dreaded: All For One is still feared by Japan's Hero community even after All Might defeated him years before, with All Might nearly panicking after Detective Tsukauchi Naomasa informs him that a vigilante is going around taking away the Quirks of the criminals he apprehends.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Quasi is basically described as a femboy with his slender, feminine build and delicate facial features.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Supervillain he may be, All For One clearly cares about the Midoriyas due to them being the descendants of his old flame Kamiko, deciding to refrain from meddling in their lives after he learns that Izuku and Izumi are his great-grandchildren.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As Izuku states to the trio of punks he apprehends in the first chapter, the fact that they use their Quirks to bully and prey on defenseless people who did nothing to them would make the Meta Liberation Army, a villainous organization that desires free Quirk use for everyone, feel revolted by their base and petty actions.
  • Fantastic Racism: Even with a Quirk of his own, Izuku faces discrimination from society for the dark history behind it, to the point that he had to be homeschooled for much of his early childhood because the elementary schools in his area rejected him for his power. The same applies to his friend group due to the intimidating appearances they have and/or powers that seem villainous at first glance.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Izuku's modus operandi as a vigilante revolves around taking away the Quirks of evildoers and giving them to people who need them or can be trusted to use them for good. If anyone proves themselves unworthy of the power he gave them, he will depower them without hesitation.
    • Himiko's family and guidance counselor tried to make her suppress her cravings for blood despite her Quirk requiring her to consume blood to survive. Hisashi proceeds to indict Himiko's parents for child neglect, abuse, and withdrawing Himiko from something she actually needs to live while the counselor is fired from their job for criminal negligence and unethical practice.
  • Monkey King Lite: Sona Hou's Quirk makes her a female version of the legendary Sun Wukong, and she's about as outgoing and quirky as her inspiration is.
  • Order Versus Chaos: The religious group that raised Tadashi Akamatsu believed in balancing order and chaos (and by extension good and evil) to live fulfilling lives.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Izuku's friend group is made up of people deemed outsiders in their communities, much of them having met each other at a summer camp for "Quirky Quirk" users.
  • Redeeming Replacement: Word of God confirms that Izuku will be what All For One could have been had he chosen to use his powers for good rather than fuel his own selfish ambitions.
  • Shout-Out: Sekijiro Kan has two kids named Chara and Frisk.
  • Vigilante Man: Izuku patrols his hometown of Mustafu at night to cleanse it of villains and lowlifes.
