The Duology Of Nicholas Andersen is a two-part story written by Agent Kamera. The story follows the adventures of aspiring young author Brian Hawke and his most beloved character, Nicholas Andersen. The first story, War Of A Thousand Worlds
, is set in Brian's dreams, and deals with a conflict breaking out between the good-aligned characters of various stories and their evil-aligned counterparts after the murder of a young girl disrupts the until-then peaceful relations with them. Both Brian and Nicholas must work together to stop this conflict before it escalates into a full-blown war...as well as deal with a traitor in their midst.
The second story, The Falcon Writer, is set in the work's "real world", a transplanted version of Miraculous Ladybug with the setting moved to a London 20 Minutes into the Future. Here, Brian must team up with both Ladybug and Chat Noir to stop a new giver of powers, the mysterious Falcon Writer. It's still under development and you can find it here
A non-canon prequel story, Tales of a Reset Mind, expands on Nico's backstory, and is set in a version of Inside Out.
The Duology Of Nicholas Andersen contains examples of:
- Absence of Evidence: There isn't enough evidence to find out who murdered Thalia.
- All Your Base Are Belong to Us: In the finale, the Magician breaks into the Island and into the Author Room.
- Anti-Villain: Nico. He wants Brian to stop mistreating his characters...by trying to kill him and making his life hell.
- Author Powers: Limited. Brian only has the powers as long as he stays inside the Author Room.
- False Flag Operation: Brian is framed of a school shooting by one.
- Incredibly Lame Pun: When Brian contemplates creating a whirlwind by spinning his whip, he comments that he isn't a huge fan of the idea.
- Instant Expert: Averted. Brian doesn't know his way around most vehicles he sees, and he comments that he doesn't know how to use his whip when he first gets it.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: Brian doesn't know how to fly a helicopter or starfighter, and therefore decides not to use them near the climax. He settles for a broomstick instead.
- Retirony: Captain Mc Anderson "retires" when the story he comes from is attacked, and presumably destroyed by Nicholas
- Self-Insert Fic: Played with. It's implied that Brian wrote one in the past and the character (Nicholas) slipped out of his control.
- Shock and Awe: Nicholas can shoot lightning.
- Training Montage: Brian goes through one at the end of night three, altough it's mostly kept off screen.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Brian's overreaction to Nicholas going off the rails.
- Who Murdered the Asshole: It's very clear that Bill the serial killer isn't liked by anyone.
- A Day in the Limelight: Nathaniel gets much more attention and screen time due to being Brian's friend.
- Alternate Universe Fic: The setting is inexplicably moved from Paris to London.
- Contrived Coincidence: In Episode 3, Brian invents a supervillain called Technosaur for Nathaniel's comics. The next week that very same villain is unleashed by the Falcon Writer, making Ladybug think that Brian Hawke is the Falcon Writer.
- Do You Trust Me?: Brian spends the first episode trying to gain the duo's trust, and even then he can feel that they're keeping an eye on him. It isn't until Episode 4 that he fully earns their trust.
- Everybody Lives: One of the author's comments. (Also, the one where nobody should be dying!)
- Glorious Mother Russia: Comrade Commander, mentioned via Noodle Incident in Episode 4.
- I Was Having Such a Nice Dream: Early in Episode 3, Adrien dreams that Ladybug is about to kiss him. The school bell rings before she can do so, waking him up.
- Noodle Incident: 'The Hot Chocholator Incident' that happened in Brian's village near Birmingham.
- In Epsiode 3, Ladybug references another.
Ladybug: That time in the burning chemicals laboratory doesn't...doesn't count.- Again in Episode 4 with Comrade Commander.
- Starter Villain: Temporal Fabric goes down way easier than any other villain.
- Time Master: Temporal Fabric, of the "stop time" variety.
- 20 Minutes into the Future: Set during late 2023/early 2024.
- Villain Opening Scene: Temporal Fabric's Falconization is the first thing that happens in episode 1.
