Go To

Ten Zero is a fanfic by Flameal15k. It is a crossover between Warframe and Code Geass.

Lelouch vi Britannia was determined to bring down his father's empire. But most weren't expecting him to have help from a whole different universe....

It can be read on Spacebattles, Sufficient Velocity, and Fanfiction.net.

This Story Contains Examples Of:

  • Adaptational Heroism: Shirley's father is implied in the series to have been a member of Code R, with the novelization confirming this - and revealing him to be a high ranking researcher. Here, this was the case, but he later defected over to Lelouch's side and is now helping the exiled prince with his plan to take down Britannia.
  • Adaptational Context Change: In canon, during Lelouch and C.C.'s conversation in "The Princess and the Witch", C.C.'s assurance that she won't betray Lelouch due them sharing a new partnership is solely dependent on her word. Here, her assurance is also due to the fact that The Man In The Wall explicitly informed her he would seek retribution if she did something to harm Lelouch.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: C.C. tends to come off as more emotional and scared in this story than she does in canon Code Geass. Justified by the fact that so far, most of her scenes have her interacting with the Man in the Wall, who's alien nature rapidly erodes her calm nature.
  • Adaptation Distillation: The events of the Deadlock Protocol have already been handled by the time that this story takes place but not the events of Scarlet Spear, even though the latter was released before the former IRL. However, the layout of the junctions in game implies that the Deadlock protocol takes place some time after the Second Dream, but before the Sacrifice.
  • Adaptation Expansion: A minor example: while interrogating Suzaku, Jeremiah asks the former if he has recently seen Lelouch or Nunnally, since the Margrave doubts that Lelouch is dead and is aware Suzaku's family fostered the vi Britannia siblings.
  • Adapted Out: The Pureblood's plot to kill Jeremiah to redeem themselves after the Orange Incident never happens here due to, among other things, Lelouch sparing Clovis and offering both the Third Prince and the "poison gas" in exchange for Suzaku, as well as leaking Code R to the public, which makes the Purists assume that whatever "Orange" is, it is something that best remains a secret... at least for now.
  • Birds of a Feather: Reuben Ashford is revealed to have become friends with Vilcor Entrati and his Necraloid servants Loid and Otak over their shared interest in Mecha.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: Lelouch's sister Guinevere had a case of this after she was on the wrong end of Lelouch using Sevagoth to exploit her fear of ghosts by putting her in a Real-Life Ghost Story.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Anytime a Tenno gets into a fight with Mooks, it usually ends with the latter plastered over the floor and walls.
  • Dramatic Irony: Assuming that C.C.'s canon backstory still holds, she formed a contract with Lelouch so that she could find a way to end her immortality and pass on...unaware that here, Lelouch is actually older than her. Much, much, much older than she is.
  • Experienced Protagonist: By the time that the story begins, Lelouch and Nunnally have already completed all of the current story quests in Warframe, meaning they've been battling the Grineer, the Corpus, the Infested, the Corrupted, and the Sentients for at least six years. Word of God says that they've completed every quest, but the events of Scarlet Spear have yet to happen.
  • False Flag Operation: One that is improvised on the fly by Lelouch during "Echo of the Tempestarii" - when he finds out that a group of anti-Britannian rebels who are Only in It for the Money are in the same area as a device he needs stolen, he frames them for the diversionary attack by arranging it so that an explosion makes the Knight Police see said mercs just after a Britannian Naval Checkpoint is destroyed by Rai and Kallen, resulting in a shoot-out that distracts both sides from Lelouch's real goal.
  • For Want Of A Nail:
    • Due to Lelouch having matured a bit and become an Adaptational Nice Guy, Clovis is kidnapped instead of being killed.
    • The above also effectively spares Jeremiah some of his canonical bad luck, as Zero offers to exchange Clovis for Suzaku, making it look like Orange is something important to the Prince. Word of God confirms Jeremiah will only get a single demotion because he acted reasonably, but Clovis was lost on his watch.
    • Lelouch leaks Code R to the public, which massively destabilizes the Britannian regime in Area 11.
      • The above is also part of the reason Jeremiah gets off with a lighter punishment, as it implies that whatever Orange was, it would be extremely compromising to Clovis' already tattered reputation.
  • In Spite of a Nail: While there are a few changes to the plot so far, many things from R1 happen more or less the same as in Code Geass canon.
    • Lelouch still forms a contract with C.C.
    • Clovis decides to destroy Shinjuku even though there's no evidence Lelouch's forces took the poison gas there. He justifies it by stating that an attack on Shinjuku might draw the raiders into the open.
    • Kallen and Nagata end up finding one of the trucks Lelouch's forces used to raid the Code R facility, and end up being pursued by Clovis' forces. Lelouch, in turn, ends up in the truck when it almost crashes into him and Rivalz again,
    • Jeremiah still frames Suzaku for involvement in Clovis death (or kidnapping, as the case may be.
  • Irony: Cornelia arranges for a repeat of what happened at Shinjuku at Saitama Ghetto so that she can force Zero into the open. Lelouch actually had a meeting with some of his allies that day, and instead allows Nunnally to meat with Cornelia, which ends in a very humiliating defeat for Cornelia.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: Lelouch mentally notes this as a reason why he's irked why Rivalz assumes the former prince has his eyes on Kallen - Lelouch is aware that he might outlive any non-Tenno romantic partners by several orders of magnitude, and thus doesn't want to seek out such partners.
  • Mook Horror Show: Sevagoth vs a group of Britannian soldiers and Royal Guard ends with the latter two being eviscerated by the former's Shadow. One poor mook apparently has his soul devoured by said Shadow.
  • Off the Rails: The first few chapters open with Lelouch and Nunnally leading a strike force to attack Code R, rescuing C.C. a whole day ahead of schedule. While circumstances ultimately conspire so that Lelouch ends up in a truck carrying a poison gas capsule just like in canon, many other things have changed noticeably.
  • Outgambitted: Cornelia tries to bait Zero into intervening at Saitama, only to find out the she's facing Nemo (Nunnally) instead. Furthermore, her strategy to try and lure Zero in is rendered moot from the get-go, since Nunnally partook in the fight using Wisp (which has the ability to turn invisible while jumping).
  • Perspective Flip: In a first among Code Geass fanfics, the third chapter opens with Lelouch's acceptance of C.C.'s contract offer from her perspective. Suffice to say, she was not expecting what she found in his memories.
  • The Older Immortal: In a case of Dramatic Irony, Lelouch and Nunnally are actually older than C.C. in this story. By several orders of magnitude.note
  • Title by Number
  • Secret-Keeper: Reuben Ashford and Joseph Fenette are both secretly aware about Lelouch being a Tenno - with both also working to assist him.
  • Trigger: Lelouch has a panic attack after Milly calls him a devil, implicitly because she reminded him of a previous encounter with Erra. The nature of the scene implies it was because of both the weather and Milly's choice of words rather than Milly calling him a devil alone.
