Pierre Cuq, better known as Pierre Mondy (February 10, 1925 - September 12, 2012), was a French actor and stage director.
He had a storied career both on screen (he very often played supporting characters on film and leading roles on television) and in theatre, both on stage in plays of Georges Feydeau, Marcel Achard, Sacha Guitry, Francis Veber, Louis Calaferte, Arthur Miller, Neil Simon or Harvey Fierstein and in the directing of such plays. In fact, he was perhaps the most prolific French stage director of the second half of the 20th century.
His best known screen roles include Napoléon Bonaparte in Austerlitz, Sergeant-Chief Chaudard in the 7th Company military comedy film trilogy in The '70s and Commissioner Pierre Cordier in the long-running Cop Show Les Cordier, juge et flic and its Spin-Off Commissaire Cordier.
