
Edward M. Zwick (born October 8, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American film director, film and television producer, and screenwriter.
He has worked primarily in the epic historical film genre, including Glory, Legends of the Fall, and The Last Samurai. With Marshall Herskovitz, he founded The Bedford Falls Company, the television production studio that brought us thirtysomething, My So-Called Life, Once and Again, and Nashville (the last two seasons on CMT).
