Main Duo
Aiden
A university student in love with his friend Dan. He invites Dan to a movie night in the hopes of getting to confess his love to Dan.
- Agent Scully: Despite being willing to take in an Ouija board, he doesn't believe in the supernatural and just uses it to prank Dan.
- Sorry, I'm Gay: When Linda attempts to hit on him, he tells her that he doesn't swing that way (and he's telling the truth- he's crushing on Dan). This doesn't happen in the 2022 remake, due to Linda knowing Aiden is trans.
- Trans Tribulations: He's female-to-male trans, which has made him very insecure about Dan reciprocating his feelings.
Dan
A bespectacled friend of Aiden.
- Agent Mulder: Unlike Aiden, he is nervous about using the Ouija board because he actually believes in spirits. Of course, he's right.
- Distressed Dude: He is briefly abducted and left inside the dumpster, where he will die if Aiden fails to find him within one minute.
Prisoners of the Other World (Unmarked Spoilers)
Linda Simons
A strange pink-haired woman trapped inside the alternate dimension.
- Big Bad: She is the spirit who trapped Aiden and Dan inside the alternate dimension and is trying to kill them.
- Does Not Like Men: When asked her for seducing, killing, and eating 8 innocent men, she replies that she hates men in general. Unlike many examples, she is never given a sympathetic reason for her hatred- instead she is treated as a monstrous bigot.Dan: T-this is a misunderstanding, right? I- I mean what would even be your motive to doing all that?
Linda: Oh, I just hate men.
Dan: Huh? But I've literally never done anything to you... I'm not even interested in you!
Linda: Ugh, shut up. Do I look like I care? Men are all a plague. Although they do taste sweet~ - Driven to Suicide: She killed herself while in custody to avoid having to answer for her crimes.
- Girls Love Stuffed Animals: The teddy bear that serves as the Save Point is actually hers, and the one fragment of her old life which Aiden and Dan use to send her back in the ritual.
- I'm a Humanitarian: In life, she was a Serial Killer who would devour her victims after picking them up at a bar. This earned her the moniker "the catfish cannibal".I've never eaten a homosexual before. I wonder if your meat tastes different~
- Literal Maneater: A rare human example. She seduced several men, lured them to her apartment, then killed and ate them, earning her the moniker "the Catfish Cannibal". She then tries to do the same to Dan but fails because he is gay, so she just tries to kill him.
- Nightmare Face: When she drops her act and goes into Ghastly Ghost mode, her face cracks and shows flesh, her eyes turn pure white with no pupils, and she gains a big slasher smile.
- Older Than They Look: Despite looking like a teenage schoolgirl, she is 24 years old, according to a newspaper.
- Politically Incorrect Villain: In addition to hating men in general, she is also homophobic, targeting Aiden and Dan because she considers homosexuality to be "a waste".
- This is retconned in the 2022 remake. Instead Linda is aware that Aiden is female-to-male trans and is baffled about why Aiden would want to be "a disgusting male".
- Psycho Pink: She has pink hair and behaves like a massive Jerkass to Aiden and Dan even before being revealed as a Serial Killer.
- Slasher Smile: She pulls one out with sharp teeth along her Nightmare Face when in Ghastly Ghost form. Fitting, as she is a cannibal who tries to eat Aiden and Dan.
- The Vamp: According to a newspaper article, she would pick up men from bars, take them home, then kill and eat them. She attempts to hit on Aiden as well, but he's gay so it fails on him. In the 2022 she switches her affections for Dan instead (due to knowing Aiden is biologically female), only to be rejected as well.
The Ouija Spirit
Gary Hugh
The spirit who contacts Aiden and Dan with the Ouija board. He was one of Linda's victims.
- Big Good: He is the spirit looking out for Aiden and Dan, giving them advice on how to escape.
- Friendly Ghost: Despite initially seeking like a scary Ouija ghost, he is actually the Big Good who wants to protect the characters from Linda.
- Good All Along: He is initially portrayed as a creepy Ouija spirit and seems to be the one who dragged Aiden and Dan into the terrifying other world, but he is actually a Friendly Ghost who wants to protect them from Linda, the real evil spirit.
