Main Cast

    Miki Makimura
  • Adaptational Badass: Compared to other versions of the character, this Miki is more assertive and self-reliant, as well as harder to kill or possess, to the point that her willpower is strong enough to subjugate two demons trying to possess her simultaneously.
    • Doubly so once she becomes a Devilman herself.
  • Ascended Extra: She's a supporting character at best in most other Devilman material. Here, she's arguably the main protagonist.
  • Cute Witch: She's an aspiring one and often is shown garbed in a witch's hat and cloak. She never quite manages to get a proper spell or ritual going, but she attains great power as a Devilman.
  • Meaningful Name: In this version, Makimura is written '魔鬼邑', which is translated as 'evil witch village' in the official English translation. It can also mean 'evil devil town'.
    Akira Fudo/Amon
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Compared to how he was in the anime in the 1970's, who he's most directly based off of. He's actually a lot closer to how Devilman was depicted in the original manga, with his violent demonic nature much more on display, and he's much more at odds with Akira's conscience.
  • Deuteragonist: Much of Grimoire is from Miki's perspective, though as Devilman, Amon still is one of the most important characters in the story.
    Asuka Himura
     Miko Kawamoto
    Tsubasa Rainuma/Sirene
Tsubasa was an orphan girl with destructive psychic powers, after coming into the care of Dr. Rainuma it was discovered that she was channeling the demon Sirene. In an attempt to save her from possession Dr. Rainuma conducted a Black Sabbath, believing that Sirene would spare her in exchange for the one hundred sacrifices. Sirene revealed that she intended to make Tsubasa her personal vessel. Tsubasa managed to escape but Sirene still hunts after her. Tsubasa encounters the Miki and Akira, and hides with the Makimuras. Eventually Sirene manages to claim Tsubasa’s body as her vessel.

Tsubasa

  • Abusive Parents: After her parents died, the relatives who took her in used her as a child prostitute.
  • Fake Memories: She uses her mind powers to make the Makimuras think that she is the middle child of the family.
  • Happily Adopted: By Dr. Rainuma.
  • Meaningful Name: 'Tsubasa' means wings- which is what her hair looks like.

Sirene

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: How she acts around others as Tsubasa.
  • "Take That!" Kiss: A rather warped version; while fighting Amon, using a temporary body made of corpses, Sirene discovers Amon’s erection after hitting him with a powerful attack, she then proceeds to rape him and laugh at him for being raped by a corpse until her body rots away.
