Sunny’s Friend Group

     Sunny Suzuki 

Sunny Suzuki

The Main Protagonist. He’s a stoic young child and the youngest of the friend group, being the youngest brother of Mari. He is quiet, a good listener and is generally polite boy.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Is the youngest member of the group and is usually protected by the rest of the kids.

  • The Quiet One: Usually doesn’t speak through out the chapters.

  • The Stoic: Usually doesn’t express himself towards anyone.

     Mari Suzuki 

Mari Suzuki

The Older sister of Sunny, who is shown to be an extremely warm and caring sister and sister figure.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Is quick to defend Sunny and others from harm, such as when Parsley was harassed by The THUG.

  • Cool Big Sis: Is a protective older sister and sister figure towards others.

  • Doomed by Canon: Given how the original games go, it’s made clear she’s not gonna live long.

     Parsley Fey (Formerly Basil) 

Parsley Fey

Sunny’s best friend. A MTF trans girl who is into photography, plants, and spending time with Sunny and The others.

     Aubrey Wilkins 

Aubrey Wilkins

A friend of Sunny, who is an extremely cheerful child despite her rough upbringing.
  • Abusive Parents: Her mother, Annie is extremely neglectful and abusive towards Aubrey, however, doesn’t let that hurt her spirit.

  • The Heart: Is generally good nature and keeping her group together.

  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gives this towards Aiden after he tried sabotaging Mari and Hero’s relationship, which got through to him.

     Kelsey “Kel” Cordero 

Kelsey “Kel” Cordero

A friend of Sunny, and the younger brother of Hero, who is completely energetic and sporty.

     Henry “Hero” Cordero 

Henry “Hero” Cordero

The older brother of Kel and boyfriend of Hero, who is generally kind-hearted and helpful.

  • Nice Guy: Is shown to be a kind hearted and sweet older brother, friend and boyfriend.

  • Only Known by Their Nickname: His real name is Henry, although he very much goes by Hero by anyone other than his parents.

  • Real Men Cook: Hero shows interest in being a chef, and is really into cooking.

     Aiden Goodwin 

Aiden Goodwin

A new kid who joined Sunny’s friend group, who is shown to be extremely polite, energetic yet extremely insecure.

  • Beneath the Mask: Implied. It appears that Aiden is extremely insecure on his friends and shows an extreme fear of being used by others.

  • Friendless Background: Has a hesitation to accept friends due to his background of being used by other friends in the past.

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The chapter “Unrequited Love” has Aiden fall in love with Mari, and tried to do minor things to sabotage her and Hero’s relationship. He gets it through by Aubrey calling him out and apologizes profusely.

     Dakota Thompson

A friend of Sunny who sometime joins the group’s adventures, and is extremely intelligent and geeky.
  • Black and Nerdy: Is pretty smart, wearing glasses and all.

  • Nice Girl: Shows to care for her friends and is generally sweet.

The Friend’s Group Family

     Sunny’s Mother/Joyce Suzuki 

Joyce Suzuki

The Mother of Mari and Sunny. She is a loving and kind hearted mother to both her children.

  • The Idealist: Contrasting her husband’s realism.

  • Married Too Young: Married Daichi when they were out of high school and were on the road during the marriage.

  • Open-Minded Parent: Is shown to be cool around her children, open to Mari dating Hero, as opposed to Daichi.

     Sunny and Mari’s Father/Daichi Suzuki 

Daichi Suzuki

The Father of Mari and Sunny. He is a devoted father, who, while loving to his children, sometimes goes overzealous over his protectiveness in wanting to keep his children’s lives well.
  • Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: Shows to not like Hero or approve of his relationship with his daughter, Mari.

  • Education Mama: Deeply cares about his children getting their lives in order when they are adults, which is why he shows disapproval towards Mari and Hero.

  • Immigrant Parents: Went to America from Korea, in which he met Joyce and gotten married.

  • Married Too Young: Married Joyce when they were out of high school and were on the road during the marriage.

     Hero and Kel’s/Antonio and Penelope Cordero

Hero and Kel’s parents, who, while showing completely loving, tend to favor Hero more than their youngest son Kel.

     Parsley’s Grandmother/Maria Fey

Parsley’s Energetic grandmother.

     Polly 

Polly

A 23 year old Caretaker of Maria, and a big sister figure of Parsley.
  • Cool Big Sis: Tries to be one towards Parsley, seeing her as a little sibling.

     Aubrey’s Mother/Annie Wilkins 

Annie Wilkins

Aubrey’s neglectful and abusive alcoholic mother, who is shown to despise everyone in Faraway Town.
  • Abusive Parents: While usually neglectful, she physically abused her daughter in her birthday chapter, punching her across the face before leaving her crying. It’s also said that her own parents were abusive towards her and her sisters.

  • Ambiguous Situation: It’s unknown why her sisters cut her off.

  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Subverted. It’s shown that she seemed to have cared for her younger sisters in her children, although she seemed to have lost any love after they cut her off, and she shows equal indifference towards her daughter.

     Aiden’s Parents/Morrison and Delilah Goodwin

Aiden’s rich parents, who are shown to be genuinely nice people.

     Sabrina Goodwin 

Sabrina Goodwin

Aiden’s 10 year old sister. She is very meek, quiet, and is shown to be a good friend to Sunny.

  • The Quiet One: She is shown to be very quiet and doesn’t respond much, like Sunny.

  • The Unfavorite: Seemed to be ignored by both her parents, although the beach chapter subverts this, as the parents say that Sabrina is simply independent from them.

     Dakota’s Mother/Rivera Thompson 

Rivera Thompson

Dakota’s cutthroat and ruthless mother, who isn’t really there for her daughter’s life due to focusing on her job.

  • Cranky Landlord: Shows in every scene she’s in trying to drain her tenants wallets or otherwise kick them out of their homes.

  • Parental Neglect: Downplayed, as she seems to care for her daughter, but doesn’t exactly show her much love nor affection, spending time on her phone than taking care of her daughter.

Faraway Town Residents

     Roy Perkins

A 14 year old bully in Faraway Town, who usually bullies and harasses the friend group.

     Ezekiel Perkins 

Ezekiel Perkins

The mayor of Faraway Town, and the father of Roy.

     Amber Perkins 

Amber Perkins

Roy’s younger sister who is sick with Cystic Fibroses.

     Officer Artie Wyatt 

Artie Wyatt

A respected police officer in Faraway Town, who is shown to be friendly and laid back towards children, but is usually by the book.

     Officer Ryker Yang 

Ryker Yang

A respected police officer and Artie Wyatt’s partner, who is usually cold hearted and is very used to bending the rules.

     The THUG 

THE MAN WITH SCAR

A drug dealer living in Faraway Town’s industrial section, he is known by the adults as being a cruel person who deals drugs to kids in order to get easier clients, and manages to get away with his crimes.

  • 0% Approval Rating: No one absolutely likes this guy, and it’s no surprise why.

  • Hate Sink: Is completely despicable person who deals drugs to children which causes them to be drugged out or killed from it,

  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Has a large noticeable scar on his face.

  • Karma Houdini: Is known to be able to get away with his crimes as he covers his tracks, and due to Parsley being too afraid to report him, he walks feee once more.

  • Knight of Cerebus: As oppose to the much more lighter tone in CHILDHOOD, the THUG and his chapter are played for horror.

  • Manipulative Bastard: Apparently used kids insecurities and fears into convincing them to buy their drugs, promising that it can “help” them.

  • Obviously Evil: Invoked, as Parsley immediately sees him as shady due to his unhinged look, red eyes and scar on his face, making her not trust him.

  • Would Hurt a Child: Deals drugs to young children, leading them to slowly ruin themselves or even kills them.
