  • General
    • More often than not, the exact same quotes from both celebrities and popular movies of the time would be referenced verbatim by different characters in several different cartoons.
    • "Ahhhh, shaddup!": Often used by Forghorn Leghorn and Sylvester, but there are occasions where other characters (Porky, Yosemite Sam, and a few minor characters) will use it for themselves.
    • "He don't know me very well do he?"
    • "Mother..!"
  • Bugs Bunny:
    • "What's up, doc?"
    • Lampshaded in The Looney Tunes Show, when the final question to win a game show is what Bugs' catchphrase is, and Daffy can't remember it.
      Daffy: That's your catchphrase? "What's up, Doc?" What does that even mean? We don't even know any doctors!
    • And lampshaded again when Bugs goes to see a doctor about his anxiety.
      Doctor: Don't say it.
      Bugs: What's up, Doc?
      Doctor: You said it.
    • "I knew I should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque."
    • "Ain't I a stinker?"
    • "Of course, you know/realize this means war." (Stolen from Groucho Marx)
    • "What a maroon"
  • Daffy Duck:

    • "Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits."
    • "Aw shucks."
    • "You wascally wabbit!"
    • (after seeing through Bugs' disguises) "Hey you're that scwewy wabbit!"
  • Foghorn Leghorn:
    • Foghorn is notorious for adding I say, in the middle of his sentences, especially when addressing someone.
    • "That's a joke, son!" (This catchphrase was one of many character traits borrowed from "Senator Claghorn," a character on Fred Allen's radio show played by Kenny Delmar.),
    • "Nice boy but he doesn't listen to a word you say".
    • "Look at me when I'm talking to you boy/son/gal!"
    • "Pay attention boy/son/gal"
  • Henery Hawk:
    • "I'm a chicken hawk. I'm after chicken."
    • "Are you gonna come quietly or do I hafta muss ya up?
  • Marvin the Martian:
    • "That makes me very angry."
    • "Isn't that lovely?"
    • "Ohhhh, myyyyyyyyyyy...."
  • Porky Pig:
    • "That's all folks!"note 
  • The Road Runner:
    • "Meep Meep!"
  • Speedy Gonzales:
    • "AndrĂ© andrĂ© eppa eppa hahaha hahaha!"
    • "Andale andale, arriba arriba!"
    • (sneaking up behind his opponents) "Yeehaw!"
  • Sylvester and Tweety:
    • "I tawt I taw a putty tat. I did! I did tee a putty tat." - Tweety
    • "Bad old putty tat!" - Tweety
    • "The poor putty tat he fall down and go BOOM!" - Tweety (Used exclusively during his original cartoons directed by Bob Clampett.)
    • "Sufferin' succotash." - Sylvester (Occasionally used by Daffy as well.)
  • Yosemite Sam:
    • Sam usually declares who he (or his alter ego of the week) with a pretty descriptive adjectives. He's also prone to spitting out Angrish when he's miserable, especially in later cartoons.
    • "Oooooooo, I'm gonna get that rabbit!"
    • "Ah hate that rabbit."
    • "What in tarnation?"
    • "You consarned idgit!"
    • "Say yer prayers, varmint!"
    • "Great horny toads!"
    • "Ya mule!" (whenever he's riding an animal)
    • "Ya dern crazy galoot!"
  • Bertie (from the Hubie and Bertie cartoons):
    • "Yeah yeah, sure sure!"
