Awesome Music / Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger

Go To

King-Ohger boasts an impressive soundtrack by series composer Go Sakabe (Date A Live, Digimon Adventure tri., Kamen Rider Ghost and Ultraman Trigger) and a variety of powerhouse artists that blends orchestral music, rock, and techno to encapsulate the series' Heroic Fantasy theme and the diversity of its setting.

Opening and Insert Themes
  • The opening theme, "Zenryoku King" by Takayuki Furukawa, is a powerful rock track that barely relents in its sheer energy even with its musically complex melodic line. The full version does little to curb it in.
  • Gira's theme and its variations are suitably badass for the proclaimed "Evil King".
    • "INFERNO" by Nano, is a relentless hard rock track that uses the singer's impressive vocals against a powerful soundscape.
    • Its instrumental remix, "I Will Rule the World!", conveys its triumphant theme with a combination of symphonic orchestral music and powerful rock instruments that notably accented Gira's "Evil King" declaration in the first episode. It tends to play whenever the characters pull a Let's Get Dangerous!.
    • The Adventure Heaven version, aptly titled "INFERNO (Movie ver.)", replaces the hard-hitting guitar solo with a magical orchestral break instead, which continues throughout the song. It still manages to be just as triumphant as its original version.
    • Another instrumental remix, "The Feelings of a King who Cares about his People" is a somber violin piece that accents Gira's role as king of Shuggodam.
    • Conversely, Gira's second theme, "KIND KING," returns to rock music, with an uplifting melody and lyrics about his duty to protect everyone.
  • Yanma's theme, "Try & Fight" by Showgo Kamada, hits hard with metal-infused rock and fast-paced rap verses befitting his kingdom's Tomorrowland nature. Its second go-around could not show up any better given that it's during not just their retaking of the kingdom, but also using Yanma's super computer to power up both the Shugods and the King-Ohgers at the same time, showcasing a sequence not unlike a Digivolution with the music scoring it. Yanma's second theme, Teppen Online, continues the metal-infused rock vibe.
  • Hymeno's theme, "World Is Mine!", is a pop-rock tune by Machico that is Badass Adorable personified thanks to her high-pitched vocals and its energetic rock instrumental. Hymeno's second theme, Golden Garden, has the feel of a Magical Girl ending theme.
  • Rita's theme, "Ignorantia juris nocet", is an epic orchestral rock piece by Minori Takizawa with chorals from the Gokkan Choir; the theme wouldn't sound out of place in Final Fantasy or The Elder Scrolls. It is first played when Rita single-handily executes invading Sanagim.
  • Kaguragi's theme, "Utage ja Ohger!" by Hideyuki Takahashi and Daiki Ise, mixes traditional Japanese instruments with a bouncy rock instrumental to create a track that is just straight-up pure fun.
  • Jeremie's theme, "The Prophet" by the same singer as the opening theme, is a fast-paced rock piece that feels like a roller coaster, reflecting Jeremie's personality and desires for both races to be at peace. It is first played when Jeremie curb-stomps Desnarak. Volume 3 presents the instrumental version "Jeramie's Determination", which first played in his introduction, opening with a string piece before erupting into a childrens' choir. Jeremie's second theme, Battlefield Trickster, is a jazz piece that sounds like a Sound Horizon composition.
  • King-Ohger's theme, "Waking the King" by Hideaki Takatori, is majestic gospel piece that opens with a piano before erupting into a symphony, truly befitting a physical god when first played in Legend King-Ohger's debut fight. Its instrumental version, "Descend, King-Ohger", is equally heavenly while bolstering King-Ohger's debut fight in the first episode to legendary status. It later gets remixed in Volume 2 as "Shiso Kourai! King Kuwagata-Ohger".
  • Extreme King-Ohger's theme, "Brand New World", is an R&B/techno-rock fusion piece that also incorporates an orchestra and choir that first plays when Extreme King-Ohger battles King-Ohger Zero. Despite all of its elements, it sounds like a suitably epic whole, bolstered by its badass guitar solo.
  • Together With Moffun's main theme, "Moffun no Uta", is a shockingly Creepy Cute tune that has some rather foreboding lyrics. What probably doesn't help is that its singer Hitomi Yoshida slips from a cutesy tone to a deeper one when she sings the last lines of each verse. Then there's the more friendly version that Rita sang while participating in the idol contest.
  • "Pride and Brave" by Hideaki Takatori, serves as the ending theme of episode 33. Following the example of previous Super Sentai crossover theme songs, it combines the melodies of King-Ohger with Kyoryuger to create a regal yet passionate masterpiece.
  • "I'm Still Alive" by Showgo Kamada is a badass guitar piece with all-English lyrics that is played in the second episode as Yanma's secondary theme, its lyrics reflecting his personality.
  • "Just We Go" by NoB is an epic-sounding rock opera piece that sounds like something from a One-Punch Man soundtrack.

Official Soundtrack

  • King-Ohger Music Collection Vol. 1: Many of the entries would not be out of place in a JRPG like Final Fantasy.
  • King-Ohger Music Collection Vol. 2: The movie soundtracks remixes some entries from the previous volume while presenting original pieces that sound suitably grand for the film's setting and themes.
    • 02. Devonica's theme, "Welcome to Hakabaka", is a lullaby sung by Ayane Sakura that sounds like something from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It has an instrumental version called "Reunion with an Old Friend" that sounds both whimsical and sorrowful in its short timespan.
    • 04. The main title, "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger: Adventure Heaven", is a short, yet sweet piece that sounds like it came straight out of a classic Disney movie.
    • 05. Hakabaka's theme, "Land of the Dead", opens with majestic choir before transitioning halfway into a sinister organ melody akin to the Bognaarok's main theme, befitting its beautiful environment and the dangers lurking beneath its aesthetics.
    • 06. Reinoil Husty's theme "The Founder King, Reiniol" befits the founder king as it has elements of Shugoddam's theme in a more militant arrangement.
    • 08. "Prophesied Disaster" is a haunting choir piece with a minimal string instrumental.
    • 09. "A Burning Takitate Castle" is a Japanese-infused orchestral piece that transitions from wistful to dramatic that brilliantly crescendos before ending with a soft string ensemble, playing during Kaguragi's harrowing interaction with Iroki.
    • 10. "Gira and Devonica" is a powerful orchestral work that interpolates the melody of "Welcome to Hakabaka" in a more sorrowful fashion, representing the tragedy of Devonica's devotion to her fate and Gira's determination to save her.
    • 11. "The Kings' Decision": A fusion of the kingdoms' themesnote  that seamlessly transitions from dramatic and powerful to wistful and somber, befitting the emotional journey all the monarchs go through in the movie.
    • 12. "What You Should Protect is a Little Happiness", a piano piece that gradually builds into an orchestral masterpiece, symbolizing Gira's desire to protect the "little happiness" for his people.
    • 13. "Royal Arms!", a militant, yet haunting piece that plays when Reiniol transforms for the final battle.

  • King-Ohger Music Collection Vol. 3: The movie soundtracks remixes some entries from the previous volume while presenting original pieces that introduced in the middle of the series.
    • 10. "The In-between County, Bognaarok": A fusion of "Underground Empire Bognaarok" and the second half of "Jeremie's Determination", representing the realization of Jeremie's dream and the redemption of the Bognaarok.
    • 15. "Dagded Dujardin, the Galactinsect King" is a suspenseful theme that instills fear with its violins and choir, best suited for such a malevolent deity. The "Galectasect King's Hammer" is more intense as it reflects when Dagded and his Jesters stop playing around and actually try to smite their enemies.
    • 21. King Caucasus Kabuto's theme, "Shuggodam's Moving Castle", has an intense melody and choir that sounds like something from a Toho Kaiju film, perfectly befitting the largest of Super Sentai's largest heroic mecha.
