  • Unsurprisingly for where he comes from, Charlotte Katakuri is a walking treasure trove of awesomeness, becoming The Ace amongst the heroes and proving it in many ways.
    • Katakuri's first words to the students after they introduce themselves to each other can count as this in its simplicity, especially with the show he gives of reforming from his scarf and releasing a wave of Conqueror's Haki.
Greetings, little ants. My name is Charlotte Katakuri and I would like to say...Hello.
    • Suffice to say, Katakuri's introduction pretty much steals the entire show with even students like Byakuya, Celeste, Sakura, Mondo, Fuyuhiko, and Maki completely cowed by his presence.
      • Tsumugi is especially terrified, left completely shaken by how he'll ruin the game. Considering what she did in canon, having her panic like this is a satisfying turn of events.
    • While Hifumi asking about what's under his scarf was an innocent question initially, Hiro, Hiyoko, Mahiru, Byakuya, Tenko and others all pile onto the Big Mom Pirate, with Makoto begging for them to stop asking him when it's clearly not something he wants to. Katakuri's response? Release a wave of Conqueror's Haki while letting out a far more powerful Death Glare at the class before stating that anyone who asks about his face is done. The lesson as spelled out in the text?
      Do.
      Not.
      Piss.
      Off.
      Charlotte.
      Kata.
      Kuri.
    • What cements Katakuri as awesome to the class? Standing up to Monokuma and preventing him from trying to kill the students by pointing out it'll deprive him of the chance to watch them butcher one another, use his Mochi Mochi Fruit powers to catch every single bullet fired at him from a gatling gun, and then use a jellybean to turn the gun into a piece of scrap metal before catching it. Monokuma is reduced to throwing a tantrum over not getting his way like the Psychopathic Manchild he is, something that spurns the students to begin rebelling against him, though he does still try to blow up Mondo like he did in the first game.
    • While the first trial goes as Monkuma planned, with Leon being executed for Sayaka's "murder" (she survived, hence the air quotes) via The 1000 Blows, Katakuri hears Himiko begging him to save the Ultimate Baseball Star and Akane encouraging him to go forth. With Makoto's approval, he tears the fence apart like a piece of paper and smashes the pitching machine in a single punch, saving Leon. When Monokuma attempts to stop the students from helping Leon, Katakuri tells them to keep going, and he proceeds to prove himself a Lightning Bruiser, breaking the gatling gun trio aimed at them in the blink of an eye. Afterwards, when Monokuma attempts to kill the students carrying the critically injured Leon, Katakuri grabs the control device and proceeds to smash it in his hands. Finally, he concludes with one Badass Boast, challenging Junko herself to face him and release the students.
Katakuri: Listen up, whoever you are working behind that wind-up toy. You may think you have the high ground, thinking that you could turn everyone into irrational, barbaric, untamed animals clawing at each throat to satiate whatever depraved fetish you have, but I'm afraid that little fantasy of yours will not happen. Not on my watch. So, I recommend that you release these students, reveal yourself in the flesh, and quit wasting everyone's time.
Monokuma: YOU DARE ORDER ME AROUND, FREAK?! YOU DARE TELL ME TO STOP MY DELICIOUS EXECUTION JUST FOR YOU TO SAVE ONE PERSON?! WHY DO YOU CARE ANYWAY IF THEY LIVE OR DIE, YOU WOULD EASILY SAVE YOURSELF AND SPARE THE TROUBLE! TELL ME ONE GOOD REASON WHY I WON'T TURN THE REST OF THESE CATTLE INTO GROUND BEEF!
Katakuri: Simple: you wouldn't. As I said, this execution's over. Whatever twisted plot you have that will bring discord among them will not come to fruition. Now, do yourself a favor: stop embarrassing yourself, let us advance to the next floor, and go back to whatever hole you slithered out from.
  • That's not to say that the Ultimates are overshadowed by him, and they have their own little moments of awesome as well.
    • While frightened at first, Akane is eventually shown willing to challenge him in single combat, if only to test herself even if she knows that he could swat her like a fly, a challenge Katakuri accepts.
    • Fuyuhiko, similarly, concurs with Mondo when he asks what gang Katakuri belongs to. When asked why it concerns, Fuyuhiko simply states that it doesn't concern him as a person, but as the leader of the yakuza, with one rule being that you find out about any neighboring gangs. Katakuri points out the boldness of Fuyuhiko, where he simply says that it's a boss's job to be aware of their surroundings, ending in a tense Death Glare match between them, one where Fuyuhiko doesn't falter. In the end, Katakuri acknowledges Fuyuhiko's courage and intelligence.
    • The Ultimate Imposter (Twogami) confronts the real Byakuya when the latter refuses to listen to Katakuri's reveal and him calling him puny, before Twogami then points he's proving himself Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense by acting like a Spoiled Brat when he can't accept that Katakuri's group is more powerful than him.
    • When Mondo and Byakuya get into an argument, Katakuri gets ready to break up the fight, but Makoto actually asks if he can be the one to do it. While Katakuri points out that there are physically stronger people like Sakura and Nekomaru who can break it up, Makoto points out that doing so would make the students over-reliant on Katakuri, and also because friends help each other out. It's this moment of will and friendship that further makes Katakuri think of Luffy when he sees Makoto.
    • When Toko, Hiyoko, and Tenko all begin to gang up on Makoto when he defends Katakuri, Nekomaru, Akane, Kibo, Kaede, Sakura, Hina, Byakuya, Ryoma, Himiko, and Kyoko all chew the three for their actions and get them to start concentrating on working together to help find clues to get out of the situation they're in.
    • With Katakuri saving Leon, the Sweet Commander asks Mikan if she can save him, and Mikan immediately gets to work, ordering for him to be carried up to the infirmary. With this, Nekomaru and Mondo work to carry him while Makoto and Hajime work to help Mikan set things up. All four immediately work to assist, with Nekomaru even swearing to not let Leon die.
    • Teruteru, of all people, has one of these, impressive considering how terrified he was of Katakuri in the beginning. When he overhears that all Katakuri's had through his life were doughnuts, Teruteru runs out with flaming eyes and leaving a flaming trail as he confronts Katakuri, dressing him down for his poor nutrition. While Makoto is nervous how Katakuri would react, when he reveals that the chefs of his home could whip up sweets that made other food unnecessary, Teruteru's response is that he'll expose him to culinary experiences he's never seen before.
    • While it was a Curb-Stomp Battle in his favor, Akane's fight against Katakuri, considering that she asked him to not hold back, was more than impressive in showing the Ultimate Gymnast's skill. She may not have the same raw strength or speed, but the fact that she was able to land a hit on him, complete with Kung-Fu Sonic Boom, is impressive, and she proves to have high endurance.
    • The ending of Chapter 21 has Chihiro walk in on Katakuri's training, and when Katakuri asks the Ultimate Programmer what he's doing, Chihiro prepares to confess his true gender, but clams up in terror. When Katakuri suggests that he look into the future and reveal it, Chihiro speaks up loudly, demanding that Katakuri let him speak for himself. Suffice to say, that impresses the pirate enough to stop his attempt to look into the future before Chihiro reveals his wish to have Katakuri train him to become a man. Considering just how timid Chihiro is, being able to speak up to Katakuri where most others are terrified of him is nothing short of awesome.
