Cause this needs to get done, and a couple of people working on +10,000 wicks just won't cut it.
What needs to be done:
- Clean up every HONF page, removing first person, this troper, context-less examples, etc.
- After being cleaned, move the page to the Nightmare Fuel namespace. If it is locked, you can ask for it to be unlocked here. See How to Move a Page for more information.
- Remove all wicks to Nightmare Fuel, High Octane Nightmare Fuel, and Accidental Nightmare Fuel that do not appear on a YMMV page, a Nightmare Fuel page, or a trope description.
- Change correct High Octane Nightmare Fuel wicks to Nightmare Fuel.
Add finished pages to the sandbox page so we can keep track.

Coraline revissed, fleshed out and moved
I'm back. Sadly, even today - and tomorrow as well... and maybe even monday, sadly - I'm a bit busy, as my best friend's paid me a visit. However, if I can work on a page, I'd like to fix Power Rangers. Although I can't guarantee I'll be able to give it a complete Example Lobotomy while I'm spending the afternoon with my friend.
[EDIT: started working on it right now.]

I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!I think that I will take on some more wicks here.
Also, please don't cutlist HONF stuff here. There is a reason I said not to do that in the 2nd post, the phrasing on the morgued HONF thread.
ETA: Done, but I like to know what to do with Nightmare Retardant and Nothing Is Scarier. My gut feeling is to cut any NF-oid wicks there - other than the ones in the description.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanExample Lobotomy for Power Rangers completed.
List of articles given the same treatment so far:
... and I guess that's it for today, for me. I'd suggest the higher-ups to restore the Wiki Headlines announcement.

I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!I dropped Accidental Nightmare Fuel down to 200 wicks.
Now, I will have to tackle several pages in connection with this topic
ETA: Deleted the last non YMMV-sink-wicks for ANF. Now, all wicks outside of YMMV tabs are correct.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis page didn't run too long to begin with, but the history page for NightmareFuel.Daria is missing at least two entries. Could someone please restore this article, too?
OK. Just finished going through the main page for Literature. All examples left look OK now, and a couple is moved to discussion page. Is there a way to recover something from the lliterature ANF page?
Ping a moderator?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSomething not in my signature's collection?
Migrated Fable, Folklore, Fate Extra, Fate Stay Night, Haunting Ground, and Killer7 to their own Nightmare Fuel namespaces. The Folklore page is really short... only two examples. Do we really need it?
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyNightmareFuel.Half Life has been done.
Accidental Nightmare Fuel is now down to 102 wicks.
Also, is there a way to find HONF wicks without the need of the Related To page or the deleted wick search tool?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm finally done with Accidental Nightmare Fuel's +1200 wicks.
From what I've seen, I suggest we cut it. The only genuine examples of it should have gone under Fridge Horror anyway.
With 875 inbounds, no. It is a valid Audience Reaction.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's an exampleless definition by word of Eddie. The best you can hope for is a faux-redlink.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerA large amount of inbounds doesn't stop it from being useless.
All of the genuine examples should have been under Fridge Horror, Uncanny Valley, or Surprise Creepy. There is no reason we shouldn't cut this page besides a feeling of nostalgia for the old definition of Nightmare Fuel.
That's also acceptable.

If you want to turn that into a supertrope (and it surely is), it could fly, but I dunno how to get it done.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanFridge Horror is not the same. ANF is when a thing immediately comes off as scary, despite lack of intent. Fridge Horror is when a thing is scary after you think it through, and often is part of Getting Crap Past the Radar - a scary thing that could not be overtly said, but was in creator's mind all along.
I'm back.
I don't see why we should cut Accidental Nightmare Fuel: after all, the namespace is already dead, so cutting an exampleness definition just because it is one itself would only lead to a counterproductive cut of all pages given an Example Sectionectomy. In other words, it'd be dumb (no offense), considering that the only pages that needed to be cut are the ones such as Naughty Tentacles, which threatened the existence of this very wiki singlehandedly by lowering our family-friendliness (not that High Octane Nightmare Fuel is that Family Friendly either, but that's another story). Just sharing my thoughts here: cutting pages is no longer a "bad thing" in my mind (following my suspension and what happened with The Second Google Incident), but it still needs to be properly thought through.
Back on topic (this discussion is about cleaning up the namespace after all), I'm going to see what I can do with EarthBound.
[EDIT: As far as I can see, EarthBound is a now-dead redirect to a "Ptitle" page. I ask for it to be restored, and then I'll merge the example with the HONF namespace (I did the same with Spyro the Dragon). Example Lobotomy to start shortly afterwards. ccoa, do your thing! ^w^]
[EDIT 2: I also demand Earth Bound to be restored as well - it's perma-redlinked.]

I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!The YMMV tab for Care Bears claims that "Nightmare Fuel has its own page", but the Nightmare Fuel page for Care Bears is empty! Somebody needs to restore the Nightmare Fuel page for Care Bears, please!
Since we have a split of Nightmare Fuel sections on Western Animation TV and Western Animation (Film), I moved the page image, page quote, a few subpages and a few examples to the latter as appropriate. Will likely get back to this at some point.
I now go by Graf von Tirol.^^I'll be happy to restore it if you're volunteering to clean it.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.ccoa? Can you restore the two pages EarthBound (not the redirect) and Earth Bound? I'll deal with them and merge them accordingly, just as I did with Spyro the Dragon. Trust me.
[EDIT: Wait... why isn't Spyro The Dragon a redirect to Spyro the Dragon anymore... oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no, no.]

I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!The HONF pages for It and Mass Effect have been wick-cleaned and redirected to NF, and the index links are changed. The ME page probably needs some further natter-killing than what I gave it.
Added examples from the YMMV page to Mega Man and fixed it up a little.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
