This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Huh? Isn't the film released next week?
Re Alas, Poor Scrappy: Personally, I like the Superman one best, but until we actually get a consensus, can the current quote get removed?
When a movie is released depends on where you are, even just within the US.
Alas, Poor Scrappy: Oh sheesh, get rid of that.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettNew items I wanted to bring up for discussion:
- The Bridge on the River Kwai: Two quotes; I'm for keeping the first.
- C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America: Two quotes, I'm for keeping the second. Great use of Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick.
- Level Ate: Two quotes; I'm for keeping the first.
- Artificial Atmospheric Actions: It seems like one quote, just needs a formatting fix.
- Bling of War: Two quotes, I'm for keeping the first.
- Dropped Glasses: Well, that induced a bit of déja vu. It's the exact same quote as on Blind Without 'Em, again split in two despite being from the same scene. Does anyone have a suggestion for either of the two pages?
So I'm not actually advocating changing the quote, although I don't think this quote is great; it's the formatting that is troublesome.
The page quote on Left for Dead is as follows:
->"You were DEAD!"
->"I got better!"
—>— Captain Sheridan, Babylon 5
So as you can see, there are two characters speaking, and only one is attributed, which makes it look like he's talking to himself.
Anyone familiar with Babylon 5 that can clarify this?

I can't remember the exact origin of that quote - Sheridan talks about returning from the dead on more than one occasion - so I don't know who the second speaker is. What I can say, however, is that the pothole needs to go. I'm still not one hundred percent sure on whether quotes can have them, but that one's clearly just an artifact from when Unexplained Recovery was named I Got Better or whatever.
(Really, though, the whole quote ought to go).

Oh, I overlooked that, actually. Yeah, the link is verboten. Well, there it is, if anyone has a better idea, or I could just cut the whole thing.
Somebody changed the page quote on Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas from a perfectly fine quote to one that's riddled with spelling errors and isn't even that good. Should I just change it back?
Fangs of the relentless thousandYes.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I agree that Sin City quote is better since the new one doesn't actually say anything about being bad but I don't think those are spelling errors. It looks like it's supposed to sound like an uneducated person speaking.
Even giving that, I agree that quote isn't clear. Plus with this thread it's inappropriate to just change a quote without good reason. I'm reverting.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Your Soul Is Mine! - the quote is just the page name.
I think it can be removed without being missed. It's completely redundant to the page.
I also found some pages with double quotes:
- UsefulNotes.Joan Of Arc: Since the first one is spoken by the person herself, it seemed more relevant to the page.
- Rooting for the Empire: The second one is much better, since the first sounds like The Bad Guy Wins.

Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better has two quotes. I am not hot about either. Any suggestion?
I agree with you on going with the first Joan of Arc quote. I'm not a big fan of either of the quotes on Rooting for the Empire, as the first sounds like like The Bad Guy Wins and the second more like Card-Carrying Villain or Then Let Me Be Evil.
Not fond of those either. This one from the quote page might work:
Re Rooting for the Empire: You're right about the first quote, now that I think about it. The Quotes page has a lot to offer. I like the Goodfellas and I didn't do it ones best.
Bizarro Episode has a quote that is completely useless. Darren Mooney's quote on Star Trek works much better, methinks.

The Totally Radical quote has to explain quite a bit of itself on the work line below it. How about this instead?
- Come on down to "Bling Bling"! Market research said our name was cool.
- — Saints Row 2: radio ad for a jewelry store.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I dig it. Much better than the current quote.
Edit: Just format the attribution line correctly. I think it would be:
—>—jewelry store radio ad, Saints Row 2
Maybe capitalize "Jewelry Store Radio Ad", I'm not sure.

-->-- '''Jewelry Store Radio Ad''', ''VideoGame/SaintsRow2''

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Cool, it's changed.
Movie Superheroes Wear Black has the same quote as Spandex, Latex, or Leather. It works better for the latter, and the Robocop quote looks good enough for the former.

@3365. Let's go with that one.
Edit: Done

The Quote Mine page quote is fundamentally a great idea, but it seems to reflect an older version of the front page; in particular, the "showing off how snide and sarcastic" part doesn't seem to be quote mineable anymore.
To modernize it, I suggest tweaking the quote to "This wiki is [...] 'stereotyped and trite.' In other words, dull and uninteresting. We [...] will just wither and die."
The quote on Serial Numbers Filed Off got deleted and later replaced, neither with any edit reason. And the current one just stated a Follow the Leader mentality, not the nature of this trope. The original one was this (and even the blue links are okay, since they aren't potholes).
- "Bioshock isn't "like" System Shock 2. It is System Shock 2."

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Indeed, the current quote is interesting but not exactly fitting for the trope.
I have a suggestion for Plot Armor. The current quote isn't exactly bad, but a bit roundabout. I've seen one that would fit better as it includes a big lampshade in this comic (starting with the middle of the second panel).
That's just a pun on the term. The current quote actually states that being main characters ups their survival.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Also vote on the first one.
Rumor is that we'll be getting a full-length trailer with Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is just in a few weeks, so we might get a better quote from that.
