The Owl House residents make their guest from Amphibia comfortable while they wait to send them back home in a crossover no one'll ever forget...

Tropes that appear in this Chapter:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Eda calls Amphibia by several names and calls Sprig "Springer" and Skara "Skooby". She doesn't even come close when she calls the Amphibia trio to be sent home, calling them "Janet, Chrissy and Jack".
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Rather than finding the Calamity Box and ending up in Amphibia when they were 13, Anne, Sasha and Marcy found it when they were 6 and Anne lost it in the woods before she was found by Hop Pop. They each were taken in by the Amphibians they were found by and raised by them, Anne and Marcy became a couple during the firefly festival, Hop Pop became mayor of Wartwood thanks to Marcy, Anne stood up to Sasha when she came to Wartwood with the tax collectors which along with their attempts to hold Marcy for ransom along with killing Hop Pop, led to their falling out with all three girls discovering their calamity powers at some point.
  • Adaptational Badass: The Calamity Trio unlocks their respective powers around the end of Season 1's events here.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Marcy, King Andrias and the Core are introduced between the gap in Amphibia's first two seasons.
    • Flora D'Splora makes her debut in between "Hunting Palismen" and "Eda's Requiem" rather than during "Elsewhere and Elsewhen".
  • Adaptational Explanation:
    • While it's never revealed how Old Man McGucket was able to pay for his death machines in Gravity Falls, here, it's because of royalty checks from the sales for writing the Good Witch Azura.
    • Edric somehow managed to bond with and keep Batric in "Reaching Out" with no explanation given confirming how he did, but that's changed here as it's shown that he did bond with it.
    • The fate of Wendy's mother was also never revealed in Gravity Falls, but here it is confirmed that she died at some point.
    • A minor case, Steve got the shirt from his casual look from a Steve convention.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Anne and Marcy have taken the names of the respective amphibians who adopted them, making them "Anne Boonchuy-Plantar" and "Marcy Wu-Leviathan".
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • While in canon Amphibia Anne had dismissed Marcy's interests and they were close friends, here they're girlfriends and Anne's more attentive to Marcy.
    • Also in Amphibia, Maddie wasn't close to anybody after becoming friends with the kids and Marcy and Ivy never hung out. Here, all three of them have a strong friendship with Anne and the Plantar kids from years of hanging out together.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Anne pats Sprig on the head when she gives the go-ahead to him going to Guys' Night with King.
  • Amazon Chaser: Marcy and Skara can't help admiring their respective girlfriend's muscles as they arm wrestle.
  • Ambiguous Situation:
    • Anne and Marcy aren't sure about whether or not Toadstool and Toadie or Olivia and Yunan have romantic interests in each other.
    • Anne's claim that Sasha is jealous of her and Marcy has some vagueness on what exactly she's jealous about.
  • Ass Shove: Luz threatens to shove Capt. Hook's hook in him anally if he doesn't let the boys go.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: True to Marcy's personality, she's fascinated by everything about the Boiling Isles, but can get distracted as a result. In fact, she only finishes her princess song due to running into a pole.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Amelia speaks in Spanish when she meets Camila, saying she met Luz after she destroyed her first house ("Ella destruyó mi primera casa!").
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Everyone in Gravity Falls besides Dipper and Mabel return for the first time since the end of Book 1.
    • Director Gates reappears following her last appearance in "Family Group Therapy".
    • Rocky gets a cameo since his last one in "Stranger Danger".
    • Batric also reappears for the first time since "Blighted by the Light", nearly thirty chapters ago.
  • Call-Back:
    • Anne remembers fighting Sasha at Toad Tower; in this timeline, it was much worse.
    • While talking to their guests, Luz informs them of how she ended up in the Demon Realm and the loss of the portal door.
    • Mabel and Pacifica bring up the former finding Soos a girlfriend and fighting a video game character when they're at Greasy's.
    • Wendy hasn't forgotten about the Blind Eye Society trying to kidnap Robbie.
    • Amity and Lilith indirectly mention the petrification ceremony when they tell Anne and Marcy how their eyes were opened to how despicable the Emperor is. Puck's death is also displayed in a mural.
    • All of Luz and Amity's friends bring up how they met Luz to Camila, mentioning how Willow and Bo met her through Gus, Viney meeting her in Detention, and Amelia mentioning how she indirectly destroyed her house.
    • Four chapters ago, Skara had learned about bonding with her inner beast and she tells Eda about it when she checks up on her.
    • Luz mentions the last time mirrors affected someone while Amity rapidly nods in agreement when discouraging the idea of summoning Bloody Mary.
    • Anne and Marcy had their Relationship Upgrade during the Firefly Festival, when they were trying to get Sprig and Ivy together.
    • To remind Eda of who he is, Steve mentions when she blasted him into the sky in "The Forest of Fear".
  • Call-Forward:
    • While in the Supernatural Museum of History, Lilith is approached by Flora who wants to talk to her about something. An exhibit of a stonesleeper is also on display.
    • Powers and Trigger are seen spying on the Pines family, waiting for the right moment to confront them.
    • Marcy has a nightmare about several orange eyes that ends with the question, "Don't you think it's time to say goodbye to those childhood friends of yours?"
  • The Cameo:
    • As per canon, Stan only shows up to complain about the kids ditching work.
    • Bessie appears during the first scene in the Distant Prologue.
    • Tyler Cutebiker shows up working at Greasy's Diner in place of Lazy Susan.
    • Bill Cipher appears in a brief flashback showing his possession of Mabel's body.
    • Tiny Nose and Kitsuni appear during Marcy's song.
    • When Luz asks who's responsible for an unflattering statue of her, Tibbles is shown sneaking away with sculpting tools.
    • Agents Powers and Trigger appear when the Pines family leave the museum, mentioning their observations over them.
    • The Core appears in Marcy's nightmare.
    • Polly, Ivy, Maddie and Wally appear alongside Hop Pop when Anne, Sprig and Marcy return to Wartwood. The former Mayor Toadstool is shown performing his community service.
    • Belos is seen at the castle greeting Steve regarding his report. He later appears as Philip meeting with Andrias in a flashback.
  • Catapult Nightmare: After the above-mentioned nightmare, Marcy wakes up like this.
  • Change the Uncomfortable Subject:
    • Mabel spends the entire chapter trying to avoid explaining her jumpiness as she doesn't want to remember Bill possessing her.
    • Anne and Marcy don't want to think about their real parents to say the least, so Luz switches topics to Amphibia's stance on same-sex relationships.
    • Eda's all too eager to talk about something else when Sprig admits he thought Eda was Lilith's older sister.
  • Childish Pillow Fight: The girls have one against the pillows themselves after they're brought to life.
  • Commonality Connection: Lilith and Marcy bond instantly over their shared love of knowledge, history and interesting flora and fauna. It gets to the point that King believes Marcy could pass for Lilith's daughter.
  • Continuity Nod:
  • Crossover: The AU of Amphibia is officially merged into the LC universe as of this chapter.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Capt. Hook and his crew are decimated by Luz, Amity, Viney and the Calamity-powered Anne and Marcy, being left traumatized as his ship is sunk and several of his crewmates being burned alive or injured enough to be taken into custody.
  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • The B-plot checks in on the Gravity Falls citizens, focusing mainly on the Pines twins.
    • The A-plot is dedicated to Anne, Sprig and Marcy to a small degree as they explain their adventures in Amphibia and spend the day exploring the Boiling Isles and bonding with Luz and her friends.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Implied for Sasha due to her upbringing in the Toad Army.
  • Declaration of Protection: Pacifica gives off one as a promise to Mabel that she'll never let Bill Cipher hurt her ever again.
  • Deep South: Anne seems to have picked up a country accent from living as a Plantar over the years.
  • Defiant Captive: While captured by Hook, Sprig uses his impersonation talent to insult him.
  • Didn't See That Coming: The Mystery Shack gang is completely shocked when they learn Old Man McGucket is Mildred Featherwhyle, the writer for the Good Witch Azura.
Candy: Luz and Amity's minds will be blown if they find out.
  • Distant Prologue: The chapter begins seven years ago when Anne met Hop Pop just after arriving in Amphibia one rainy night.
  • Distressed Dude: King, Gus, Jerbo, Edric, Sprig and Steve get kidnapped by Captain Hook and his crew, resulting in Luz, Amity, Viney, Anne and Marcy going to rescue them.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: When Pacifica questions why McGucket would write young reader fantasy novels instead of selling his inventions, he asks if she'd want a death machine to be accessible to kids: she concedes to his point.
  • Everyone Can See It: Jerbo and Edric have realized that Amelia has a crush on Gus, given that she joined the Human Appreciation Society to spend time with him.
  • Failed a Spot Check:
    • Upon getting their bearings and seeing the Clawthornes, Anne and Marcy assume they're on Earth not catching sight of Amity and Eda's ears. It's only because of King and Hooty that they figure it out.
    • While leaving the museum, the kids don't notice a camera watching them leave.
  • Flashback B-Plot: Throughout the chapter, flashbacks of Anne's life in Amphibia are showcased. The chapter also ends with The Reveal that Philip's been to Amphibia at some point.
  • Freak Out: Mabel has an outburst at Greasy's telling Pacifica and Tyler she's fine when they ask.
  • From Bad to Worse: As Anne, Sprig, and Marcy run from a lionfly, they soon have an entire pack chasing after them.
  • Gamer Chick: Cat admits to being one and the girls spend a portion of the sleepover playing Merlock Kart.
  • Garage Band: Luz and Skara make their official musical debut as the Bard Beast Girls, playing alongside Anne and Marcy (who we know played alongside Sasha back home as "Sasha and the Sharps") performing "No Big Deal".
  • Gender-Seperated Ensemble Chapter: Halfway through the chapter, the A-plot splits the focus between the girls having a sleepover and the guys having a guys' night out.
  • The Ghost:
    • Lady Olivia and General Yunan are constantly broughy up by their adopted daughter, Marcy.
    • Gus mentions his father and how he took Gus to the Dark Arts district when he was young.
    • Witch Rick mentions Witch Morty and that he would've loved the pun he made.
  • Girls' Night Out Chapter: Gender-inverted. While the girls have a sleepover, King lets Sprig join him, Gus, Jerbo and Edric on a night in town. It means a lot to Sprig since he's never had any guy friends to do it before.
  • Going Native: Living in Amphibia since they were kids has made Anne and Marcy accustomed to eating bugs.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars:
    • At some point, Sasha got an X-shaped scar in between her eyes. It's mentioned that every time Anne and Marcy saw her, she'd have a new battle scar on her.
    • Mabel now has an eye-shaped scar on her hand as a reminder of Bill's possession.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Anne can't help but think that Sasha's jealous of her relationship with Marcy.
  • Happily Adopted: Four different cases are shown, one of which being Played for Drama.
    • Anne was taken in by the Plantars after Hop Pop found her; Marcy ended up under the care of General Yunan and Lady with Olivia as King Andrias' daughter and the princess of Amphibia; and Sasha was raised as a soldier in Captain Grime's army, eventually becoming his second-in-command and turning out much more ruthless.
    • It's all but said that Vee's been taken in by Blubs and Durland, having come to see them as her family.
  • Hero of Another Story: Anne's been living in Amphibia for seven years now along with Sasha and Marcy, and they've left their own marks through the adventures they've been having there.
  • He's Back!: Both Edric and Mabel spend the chapter depressed over different things (Edric over his breakup, Mabel over her possession). But by the chapter's end, both are back in good spirits (Edric due to Batric helping to save him and the guys, Mabel after talking things out with Dipper.)
  • Hidden Depths: Cat reveals herself to be a Gamer Chick, playing video games with her brother Dog all the time.
  • Honorary True Companion: Before Anne, Sprig and Marcy return to Amphibia, Eda makes them members of the Bad Girl Coven, giving each of them a t-shirt as souvenirs.
  • Horrifying the Horror: After being blitzed by Luz and her friends who sink his ship and decimate his crew, Capt. Hook declares them worse than the crocodile.
  • Hostage Situation: Capt. Hook intended to do this after capturing the guys, but it fails because he completely underestimates who he was dealing with.
  • How We Got Here: The first thing we see is how Anne came to Amphibia and what she was doing before she, Marcy and Sprig ended up in the demon realm.
  • Immediate Sequel: Following the first two flashbacks, things continue from the Owl House residents recovering from the shock of meeting two more humans.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • All of Anne's adventures in Amphibia occur the same as they did in canon (with the only change being Marcy joins in on some of them) and she and Sasha still have a falling out when she threatens her loved ones.
    • Everything since the puppet show and Bill possessing a Pines twin up to the Mystery Shack gang's visit to the history museum stays exact, plus they erase the minds of the Blind Eye Society and help McGucket remember who he is.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Willow, Viney, Skara, Amelia, Cat and Bo meet Camila for the first time.
    • Willow, Skara and Cat relay Boscha's apology message and her being transferred to and attacked at Glandus to Luz and Amity.
      • Luz, Amity and Skara exchange their sightings of Boscha on Pleasure Island.
    • Skara tips Eda off to bonding with the Owl Beast.
    • Thanks to Steve, Belos learns about Anne and Marcy. He also tells Lilith about Kikimora's demotion.
    • A minor case, but Anne and Marcy discover that giraffes are beast demons and Capt. Hook is Real After All.
  • Killed Off for Real: A portion of Hook's crew ends up boiling alive in the Boiling Sea thanks to the girls decimating them while saving the boys.
  • Lampshade Hanging: No one really understands why Marcy bursts into song. And while a possible explanation is provided for why everyone in the demon realm does it, the background music leaves them more stumped.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Mayor Toadstool was nearly killed by Sasha when he was revealed to be embezzling the town's taxes. While he was spared, it played into him losing the mayoral elections to Hop Pop and getting sentenced to community service.
  • Late to the Realization: Anne and Marcy are too excited and Luz too stunned from seeing other humans in so long, nobody tells the girls from Amphibia the truth until they examine King and get scared by Hooty.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall:
    • Witch Rick correctly guesses that Anne and Marcy were raised in another world: when Eda asks him how he knew, he says "it fits with the theme", as in the series' dedication to Family of Choice.
    • Soos mentions how surprising of a twist it is that Old Man McGucket is the author of the Good Witch Azura.
    • Following Lazy Susan's memory wipe, she says she can't remember if she has four fingers or five. Gravity Falls characters tend to have either number on each hand.
  • Literal Metaphor: The girls have a pillow fight at their sleepover. As in, they actually fight their pillows since Luz animated them.
  • Literal-Minded: Vee is confused about why Lil' Big Dog calls himself that since he's not little or a dog, which leads to Soos explaining stage names to her.
  • Luminescent Blush: Befitting their status as a couple, Anne and Marcy do this several times whenever they banter.
  • Mama Bear: According to Hop Pop, if anything happened to Marcy, General Yunan won't hesitate to wipe Wartwood off the map.
  • Meaningful Gift: Before Anne, Sprig and Marcy return to Amphibia, Lilith gives Marcy a book detailing the flora and fauna of the Boiling Isles as a memento. Marcy is so happy with it, she surprises the witch by pulling her into a hug.
  • Meaningful Rename: Throughout the chapter, Dipper tries invoking this by using his birth name Mason because Bill gave him the nickname and he refuses to use anything associated with the demon anymore. In the end, Mabel reminds him that he chose that nickname and he decides to keep it, ultimately subverting this.
  • Monster of the Week: The Blind Eye Society serve as the chapter's villains in Gravity Falls. Captain Hook attempts this in the Boiling Isles, but is swiftly defeated.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: Years of working on the Plantar Farm have led Anne to having more toned arms, with Willow complimenting them and them trying to see who's stronger in arm wrestling.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Eda uses the name "Amphibiland", the pilot name for its series, at one point and Sprig corrects her.
    • When Luz, Amity and Willow list potential punishments for Nicole that sound harsher with each suggestion, Anne (who overhears them) responds with "Man, you girls are dark!"
    • Blind Ivan mentions to the girls that one of them met him before. A Freeze-Frame Bonus in "Society of the Blind Eye" revealed that Pacifica had been one of their victims.
  • Named by the Adaptation: The Northwest family's human butler and monkey butler are named Chapman and Chips here.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Marcy clearly isn't fazed by the strange wildlife on the Boiling Isles and is eager to explore.
Marcy: This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a whole new world. I want to see as much of it as I can instead of being cooped up in [the Owl House]! Just think about the wonders that await! (sees a flying eyeball outside get eaten by a large cat with a candlestick on its head) Amazing...
  • Non-Heteronormative Society: Amphibia doesn't have a problem with same-sex relationships, since some of their denizens can reproduce asexually while others can change their gender.
  • Noodle Incident: Whatever happened to Marcy when Anne tried to teach her how to plow a field, which is very embarrassing to her.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: Luz declares herself scarier than Sasha, despite not even meeting her yet.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: The former Banshees all agree that if Sasha's anything like Boscha, she may not want to change for the better for the sake of staying friends with Anne and Marcy.
  • Oblivious to Love: As it turns out, Gus hasn't even considered the idea that Amelia's got a thing for him.
  • Obviously Not Fine: Mabel spends the whole chapter closing herself off and yells when someone asks how she's feeling. She starts to recover at the end.
  • Oh, Crap!: It doesn't take Hook long to realize kidnapping the guys was a mistake when he sees 5 girls (two with superpowers, one with abomination armor, a transformed human and a witch riding a griffin) ready to level him and his crew.
  • One-Steve Limit: Parodied in more ways than one when Steve visits a Steve convention. After erasing Blind Ivan's memories, Mabel names him Steve, too.
  • The One Guy: Sprig's always been this since he's not friends with any guys around his age in Amphibia. When Luz points out he'd have been the only boy at the girls' slumber party, King announces his guys' night plans and allows Sprig to join, thus subverting this.
  • The One That Got Away: Steve calls Lilith this since she ended their friendship to keep him safe.
  • Parental Substitute: Hop Pop for Anne, Grime for Sasha, Andrias, Olivia and Yunan for Marcy, and Blubs and Durland for Vee.
  • Platonic Co-Parenting: Olivia and Yunan are a zig-zagged case since they raised Marcy, but are in an on-again, off-again romance. Blubs and Durland are a subverted case as they both love each other and care for Vee together.
  • For Want Of A Nail:
    • In the Boiling Isles: the fact that the characters of Amphibia ended up in the demon realm rather than OH characters going to Amphibia aside, Lilith encounters Flora D'Splora and is given her belongings from her cleared out office earlier, along with Willow asking Amity to braid her hair into a new style and Edric acquiring Batric.
    • When Pacifica mentions the events of "Sock Opera", a flashback shows Mabel was possessed by Bill instead of Dipper as it happened in Reunion Falls. It's also mentioned that Dipper didn't help Soos get a girlfriend.
    • To "Society of the Blind Eye": Pacifica and Candy (who helps Dipper locate the label tying McGucket to the laptop) join the Mystery Shack crew (and Vee) in investigating McGucket's lost memories. The girls are tied up alongside Mabel and Wendy while Dipper and Soos evade capture with Vee and McGucket. Mabel nearly allows Blind Ivan to erase her memories of Bill only for him to be stopped.
    • Everything under Adaptational Backstory Change acts as such in Amphibia, with Sasha managing to claim the Calamity Box after someone brings it to her.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: In-Universe; Anne creates several couple names given she's a huge Shipper on Deck. In addition to Sprivy (Sprig/Ivy) and Marcanne (herself and Marcy), she coins Lumity (Luz/Amity), Simcat (Simon/Cat), Skarlow (Skara/Willow) and Vinira (Viney/Emira). She also mentions her familial use with Sprig, "Spranne against the world!"
  • Precision F-Strike: Luz launches one when she sees the abysmal cross-eyed model of her cambion form in the museum's new human "exhibit".
  • Pun: Anne says the Chocolate Cosmos, a flower that smells like chocolate, would be sweet.
  • Reactive Continuous Scream: Anne and Hop Pop's first meeting has them screaming back and forth until Anne tells him not to eat her. This leads to them clarifying neither one will eat the other.
  • The Reveal:
    • Anne, Sasha and Marcy got sent to Amphibia 7 years ago with Anne losing the music box. They grew up under the care of the Plantars, Grime and the Newtopian royal court, respectively, and Anne, Sprig and Marcy were running from a lionfly when they went through the portal Luz opened up.
    • Old Man McGucket is the writer of the Good Witch Azura series, using the pen name "Mildred Featherwhyle" since the books wouldn't sell if people knew the truth. The money he makes is how he can afford to build his inventions.
    • According to Lilith's theory, everyone on the Isles randomly bursts into song because the Titan awakened the musical parts of witches and demons when expressing powerful emotions.
    • Amphibia's Moss Man is implied to originally be from the Boiling Isles. Jerbo got the idea of his Abomi-Moss Man from it as inspiration.
    • Belos is not the first to claim to be a messenger of the Titan, just the latest in a line of messengers. Throughout the history of the Boiling Isles, the Titan has supposedly communicated with various witches and given them means to advance Boiling Isles society.
    • Anne and Marcy had a Love Epiphany at the Firefly Festival, and became a couple afterwards.
    • Turns out Bloody Mary is real and summoning her is strongly advised against.
    • Stan lied to Dipper about his twin dying in a car crash.
    • Vee has been living with Blubs and Durland.
    • Luz and Amity figured out it was Boscha who helped them defeat the Coachman along with Tom.
    • Eda discovered possums exist in the human realm and has been trying to convince witches they're real.
    • Philip Clawthorne previously traveled to Amphibia and met with King Andrias. It also seems that the Pied Piper has been there, but was described to be a newt.
    • The Boiling Isles has its own version of Hollywood called Titanwood.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Marcy doesn't perform any royal duties, but she doesn't sit out of helping to save the guys with her girlfriend.
  • A Scar to Remember: As a reminder of Bill's possession, Mabel now has a scar shaped like his eye on her left hand.
  • Saying Too Much: Sprig completely fails to avoid talking about his relationship with Ivy around Edric, who just ended his relationship with Hunter.
  • Security Cling: Anne and Marcy hug each other when they see Hooty for the first time and get scared.
  • Sequel Hook: Luz, Amity and Willow decide to help Boscha get back into Hexside, Eda takes Skara's advice on working with her inner beast under consideration, the Mystery Shack gang put a pin in finding the memories of whichever one of them the Blind Eye Society met before (Pacifica) unaware that Agents Powers & Trigger are observing them, Witch Rick decides to help the Owl House crew make a portal, Anne and Marcy know this won't be the last time they see the Clawthornes and Anne stores away Luz's suggestion to find Dipper if she gets back to Earth, and it's all but said that Sasha will be using the Calamity Box to bargain with King Andrias in order to conquer Amphibia.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Anne's attempt to scare Marcy only for the latter to greet her while behind her is reminiscent of Tarzan's attempt on Kala failing as well.
    • Song Parodies include "What's This?" from The Nightmare Before Christmas, "Wayward Son" by Kansas, and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing".
    • Marcy mentions that Maddie has a magic teacher who reminds her of Eda. This was confirmed to be a nod to Uodeela the Salamander, Eda's Amphibian counterpart in The Owl and The Frog (although she's said to be a newt here.)
    • It's been confirmed that Marcy's basically an honorary Disney Princess in this universe.
    • Mabel's sweater is depicted as red with black spider web patterns, like Spider-Man.
    • Old Man McGucket states that his face would give kids who read Azura more nightmares than anything R. L. Stine's written.
    • Sprig notes that Loggle believes there's a god that's an axolotl, a reference to the otherworldly being mentioned by Bill in Gravity Falls.
    • Eda calls Skara Skooby before Skara corrects her.
    • Luz has a game called Merlock Kart, based off of the Mario Kart series and named after Merlock the Sorcerer, the Big Bad of DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.
    • Steve mentions visiting a Steve convention once, referencing the one that takes place in the Phineas and Ferb episode, "The Lizard Whisperer".
    • The Northwest family's butler is named after his voice actor, Matt Chapman.
    • Mabel tries to rename herself to "Star", saying it sounds like the name of a princess or a galactic warrior. She also labels Luz as "Meteora".
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: After beating Toadstool in the mayoral elections, Hop Pop took to wearing Toadstool's usual outfit instead of his default one.
  • Sleep Cute: Luz & Amity are seen cuddling as they sleep, with Willow and Skara sleeping close to each other. After her nightmare, Marcy wraps her arm around a sleeping Anne, who hugs her which calms her into going back to sleep. Non-couple examples include Viney resting against Puddles and Batric sleeping on Edric's head.
  • Slumber Party: Luz and Amity host one at the Owl House with Willow, Viney, Skara, Amelia, Cat and Bo and allow Anne and Marcy to join them. Anne mentions that she and Marcy had a few of these with Sprig, Polly, Ivy and Maddie.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Vee joins Dipper/Mason, Soos and McGucket in going to the Hall of the Forgotten.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Pacifica suggests this to Blind Ivan after learning the Blind Eye's purpose;
Pacifica: Sounds like you guys are using that ray gun to get out of therapy.
Blind Ivan: Therapy is too much trouble and there is no guarantee of long-term success.
  • Status Quo Is God: With their own parts to play in their world, it's obvious that Anne, Sprig and Marcy would return to Amphibia before the chapter's end.
  • Tempting Fate: When Marcy hears about Belos, she reassures everyone in the Owl House that her adoptive father King Andrias is definitely not evil.
  • There Are No Therapists: Averted yet again. Wendy confesses that she saw a child psychiatrist after her mother's death and she recommends her to Mabel.
  • Tomboy Princess: Marcy, keeping in line with her canon Tomboy with a Girly Streak traits. Despite being the Princess of Amphibia, she doesn't like it when Lady Olivia tries to get her to wear dresses, preferring her artificer/rogue look complete with a Tomboyish Ponytail.
  • Took a Level in Badass: All three girls of the Calamity trio have unlocked their power from the music box, with Anne and Marcy not undergoing extreme fatigue from using it too long.
  • Unseen No More: After being mentioned by Lilith in the previous chapter, Flora D'Splora makes her debut.
  • The Voiceless: Rocky and Kitsuni make non-speaking appearances during the songs they appear in.
  • Wham Episode: Anne, Sasha and Marcy are revealed to have been living in Amphibia for years and have learned to use their calamity gem powers, Anne, Sprig and Marcy are sent back to Amphibia by Witch Rick who agrees to help make the Clawthornes a two-way portal to Earth, Sasha receives the Calamity Box and Belos (as Philip) is shown to have ended up in Amphibia and was brought to King Andrias.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Emira ends up missing out on the sleepover because she doesn't want Viney to see her acne-covered face.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Sprig is not happy when an entire pack of lionflies start chasing him, Anne and Marcy right after the latter mentions the fact that they do hunt in packs.
