Pantheon / GUAG Robot War Division Second Battlegroup

Go To

Commander: Vice Admiral Athrun Zala
Deputy Commander: Major General Jeremiah Gottwald
Ranking Pilot: Colonel Knight Gundam

The 2nd Battlegroup was activated by General Lelouch vi Britannia as part of the re-organization initiated by GUAG Command. It consists of all ground and planetary units under the Robot War Division with its own dedicated army, navy, air force and marine units. They primarily function as a defense and security force for the fictional mecha universes that provide the GUAG sustenance, with the 1st Battlegroup and 3rd Battlegroup helping in transit between these worlds.

Led by Lelouch vi Britannia and headquartered in the Robot War Division's second headquarters in the House of Military and Warfare, the 2nd Battlegroup has several key bases:

  • Joint Base Britannia (named for the Holy Britannian Empire) is Lelouch vi Britannia's base of operations for GUAG affairs and is home to the GUAG 8th Army Group, the troops under Lelouch's command among others. The mobile weapons regiment of said army group is commanded by Colonel Kyoshiro Tohdoh on Lelouch's behalf.

  • Omoikane, the flagship of the 2nd Battlegroup's commander Athrun Zala and the 9th Seafleet of the GUAG. A hastily retrofitted Takemikazuchi-class from the Orb Union navy, it is identifiable by a dark red flag with three silver stars. It is frequently seen in frontline naval engagements with the GUAE and is legendary for surviving an attack from Davy Jones' kraken.

  • JABUROnote , the center of Earth Federation Forces in the Pantheon. An underground defence complex based on the original Jaburo, it houses highly advanced Newtype research facilities and mobile suit production lines. It is administered by General Johann Abraham Revil, commander-in-chief of the EFF during the One Year War, with Colonel Kenneth Sleg leading the mobile weapons regiment.

  • The Autonomous Assault Ark Wunder, mobile headquarters of WILLE, the organization which commands the Evangelion units of the GUAG under the Eva Special Battalion. A prominent target of flyers in the Grand United Alliance of Evil as it represents their enemies' air superiority. Regularly deploys the Children (Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu/Shikinami, Rei Ayanami, Toji Suzuhara (reserves), Kaworu Nagisa, Mari Makinami Illustrious and Kotone Suzunami) into battle.

As of the re-organization, the ace of aces of this battlegroup is surprisingly, Shinji Ikari. Despite being Unskilled, but Strong, his EVA unit has nabbed so many grisly kills (courtesy of mother) that it's near impossible to get an accurate kill tally.

    Athrun Zala
Athrun Zala, The Cynical God (Alex Dino, The Red Knight)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/athrunzalafull258393_removebg_preview.png
Athrun in ZAFT Red Uniform
ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: His Infinite Justice Gundam; Alternatively, Torii
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (may have been Lawful Neutral when he was in conflict against Kira)
  • Rank: Vice Admiral (O-9)
  • Colleagues: Cagalli Yula Athha (superior), Major Heine Westenfluss (wingmate), Colonel Ledonir Kisaka, Warrant Officer Juri Wu Nien, Warrant Officer Asagi Caldwell, Warrant Officer Mayuri Labatt (M1 Astray pilots), Captain Todaka (former Takemikazuchi captain)
  • Flagship: Omoikane (main, flagship of the Second Battlegroup), Kusanagi (space battleship)
  • Reason for Joining: Orb, despite being famous for its neutrality has unofficially sided with the GUAG against the revitalized Blue Cosmos. Athrun has been sent as a military aide along with a single Orb task force to assist the Division while he resides in the Pantheon. For personal reasons, he's not on board with the world of chaos that the GUAE longs for. He leads the ground battlegroup from his flagship on Earth, the Takemikazuchi-class aircraft carrier Omoikane and an Orb expeditionary fleet in space .
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Medium-High. Like Kira and Lacus, Athrun has a firm belief in peace and Cosmos is one of the few people he can believe in to constantly pursue that ideal without succumbing to the pitfalls of cynicism. Even more loyal to Kira Yamato and will react very quickly if you insult Kira in his presence.
  • Threat Level: High, especially in SEED mode. Higher than Shinn, given his ∞ Justice Gundam defeated Shinn's Destiny Gundam. While the latter was in full berserker mode no less. In terms of command, his indecisiveness can sometimes lead to strategic blunders but he always acknowledges his mistakes and carries on.
  • Main Unit: ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam
  • Position: Commander of the 2nd Battlegroup and the GUAG 9th Seafleet, Military Commander of GUAG Orb Union Forces, Mid-Range Coordinator MS Pilot

    Jeremiah Gottwald
Jeremiah Gottwald, God of Loyalty (Orange-kun, Orange Boy, Jerry)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jeremiah_removebg_preview_2.png
Sutherland Loyal
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His orange-gold half-mask, or anything orange for that matter.
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Rank: Major General (O-8)
  • Flagship: The Sacred Ordernote
  • Reason for Joining: Out of pure and utter loyalty to his Emperor, Lelouch vi Britannia. What else would you expect from someone who represent the literal trope Undying Loyalty? For personal reasons, he is deeply offended at the absence of loyalty or fealty in the GUAE, since he has cast his lot with those who (for the most part) shed blood for one another. He'll stick it to those who are disloyal, especially that backstabbing Starscream!
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High but can dip to a Medium depending on the situation. Lelouch specifically ordered him (without Geass) to obey Cosmos' every command, which was likely just to prevent friction between the two over conflicting philosophies. He will assassinate, betray, kill or commit numerous atrocities simply to prove his loyalty to Lelouch and Cosmos.
  • Threat Level: Moderate. His loyalty is absolute and a great asset to whoever he serves but his temperament is highly unstable. Jeremiah is prone to overconfidence and overzealousness which cause him to lose sight of the big picture of the Forever War (a valued quality in high-ranking generals). His skill with a mech allows him to survive against far more advanced units like Starscream (a sentient robot) and utterly wreck him. Lastly, his left eye hides a special power, the Geass Canceler which lets him negate the power of any Geass within his field of influence.
  • Main Unit: Sutherland Loyal
  • Position: Deputy Commander of the 2nd Battlegroup and 26th GUAG Infantry Division ("Orange Peels"), Long-Range Knightmare Frame Pilot

    Musha Gundam
Musha Gundam, the Super-Deformed God (Mister Musha, Musha, Lu Bu Gundam, MG)

Musha Gundam
Shin Musha Gundam
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: A silhouette of his head, with large yellow eyes
  • Alignment: Lawful Good (was once Chaotic Evil)
  • Rank: Major General (O-8)
  • Colleagues: General Shodai Shou Gundam (father), Captain Musha Gundam Mk. II (son)
  • Reason for Joining: After being promoted to Sandaime Gundam Dai-Shogun he was recruited by a mysterious figure to become part of the Robot War Division. He quickly rose through the ranks to become commanding general of an infantry division in the House of Shape.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High. As a samurai warlord/shogun he follows the way of the bushido and is eternally loyal to Cosmos to make sure good continues to exist in the Pantheon.
  • Threat Level: High. He is an extremely gifted fighter, tactician and legend of battle who can survive onslaughts of billions of soldiers. Even Char knows to be intimidated by Musha's prowess
  • Main Unit: Himself
  • Position: Commander of the 87th Cavalry Division, Close-Range Fighter

  • Greater God (Grimlock), Intermediate Gods (Slag, Sludge, Snarl, Swoop)
  • Symbol: The Dinobot emblem
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Good depending on their mood
  • Rank: Captain (O-3: Grimlock), 1st Lieutenant (O-2: Swoop), 2nd Lieutenant (O-1: Slag, Sludge, Snarl)
  • Vessel: The Axalon
  • Reason for Joining: “Us Dinobots love a good fight!
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Low. Grimlock refuses to take orders from anyone and the other Dinobots will always be at his side. Despite this arrogance and disobedience Grimlock at least has a code of honour and strong warrior ethic and will seem to loyally follow strong leaders and there's plenty in Cosmos. Not loyal but at least some grudging respect. Of all the other Dinobots, Swoop is the most obedient by virtue of being the Token Good Teammate and Slag is the most insubordinate.
  • Threat Level: High. The Dinobots are up there with Prime himself as some of the strongest fighters the Autobots have to offer. All of them are Blood Knights who live to dismember Decepticons and they enjoy doing it. It's very rare for a Mook Lieutenant in a Zaku to encounter them and survive intact.
  • Main Unit: Themselves
  • Position: Close-Range Fighters

    Heisei Mechagodzilla
Heisei Mechagodzilla, Co-Patron of Robotic Beasts (Mechagodzilla, Super Mechagodzilla, Mechagodzilla 2, Mechagodzilla II, Mechagodzilla The Second, UX-02-93, Anti-G Weapon, Anti-Godzilla Superweapon, G-Force Anti-Godzilla Weapon, End of Century Tyrant)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/euqfqe4umaab0zc.jpg
Super Mechagodzilla
  • Greater God
  • Symbol: A silhouette of himself
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (this version only because it's in GUAG hands, can still be re-programmed as Chaotic Evil)
  • Rank: None
  • Reason for Joining: Was brought in as an anti-Godzilla deterrent, much to his chagrin. Kiryu and Animé Mechagodzilla were considered but deemed too unstable for field use. For the record, the Showa version is already owned by the GUAE as their anti-Godzilla deterrent, Kiryu has the memories of the original Godzilla and is liable to go wild at any moment, and the fourth is made of a fatally assimilating Nanometal which the Grand United Alliance of Machines have taken the liberty of collecting for study. Machine Councillor Roboking promises the GUAM will roll out a safer Nanometal Mechagodzilla for use by them soon.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Depends on the pilot (normally Medium to High), though has a trend of going on a rampage for various reasons. Inquiries have revealed bio-infection by the GUAE Mutation Lair, implanted viruses or simply a miscalculation by the pilot to be among these factors. Most of the time the quirks are fixed and this unit serves the Division at a steady pace.
  • Threat Level: High. Despite being destroyed at the end of its engagement with Godzilla, it took a Heroic Sacrifice from another monster before Godzilla could do so. Aside from the standard issue Atomic Breath and laser cannons, Heisei Mechagodzilla is armed to the teeth with Godzilla's weaknesses, such as cadmium shells and EMP charges that can penetrate his body shield. If in a pinch, it can combine with the combat vehicle Garuda to become Super Mechagodzilla, trading mobility for increased firepower in the form of two Maser Beam cannons. Due to Godzilla's alliance with the GUAG this Mechagodzilla is more often used as a counter against King Ghidorah, Destoroyah and Gigan. Can become Very High if upgraded with other Mechagodzilla tech such as the Absolute Zero cannon used by Kiryu.
  • Pilots: An entire team of G-Force Personnel, though pilots of other versions of Mechagodzilla like 1st Lieutenant Akane Yashiro and Captain Haruo Sakaki can be called up.
  • Kiryu!Mechagodzilla can sometimes be roped in to assist via remote control from 1st Lt. Yashiro or Cpt. Sakaki, but when the spirit of Godzilla with in it is taking control, it's about as loyal as Godzilla himself (i.e. not very, though is somewhat attached to Yashiro).
  • Position: Heavy Assault Kaiju Combat Unit

    Kaworu Nagisa
Kaworu Nagisa, God of Mystical White Hair (Tabris, The Last Angel, The Angel of Free Will, Seele's Boy, Kaworu-kun, Homo-boy)

In his Plugsuit
Evangelion Mark. 06
  • Greater God (he calls himself a Lesser God)
  • Symbol: The Spear of Cassius alongside Evangelion Unit-04 and Evangelion Mark.6.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good; Neutral Good around SEELE
  • Rank: 1st Lieutenant (O-2)
  • Vessel: AAA Wunder
  • Reason for Joining: Because he loves Shinji. Whether he means this platonically or romantically is unclear. He was offered a place in the Robot War Division very late because Admiral Bright was wary of his sympathy for Arael, whom he and Herr Doktor Tenma helped rescue from GUAE hands. He first deployed in the GUAG as a replacement for Asuka (again) when she was incapacitated by a reckless attack on Arael.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Low to Medium. As one of the Angels (more so one who was brought up by SEELE) he has a Blue-and-Orange Morality that prevents him from comprehending the consequences of his actions at times. His unorthodox tactical decisions make him a hindrance to Cosmos and GUAG Command as much as they make him an asset. Some aren't comfortable working with an Angel either.
  • Threat Level: High. He is probably the most skilled and stable of the Children. As an Angel, Kaworu also has special abilities even outside his Eva unit like regeneration, energy projection and telekinesis. Both have made him the unquestioned leader of the team with his best friend Shinji as poster boy. Thanks to the morale he gives Shinji, Kaworu is thus a prime target for elimination by Gihren Zabi. Mess with him and you mess with Shinji.
  • Main Unit: Evangelion Unit-04 (original), Evangelion Mark.06 (current)
  • Position: Mid-Range Evangelion Pilot

    Yui Ikari/Evangelion Unit- 01
Yui Ikari, Goddess of Empathic Weapons (Evangelion Unit-01, Oni System, Yui-sama, Yui Ayanami)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Yui_ikari.jpg
Evangelion Unit- 01
  • Greater Goddess (full-blown Overdeity when Awakened)
  • Symbol: EVA-01
  • Alignment: True Neutral, just plain Chaotic when Awakened, hints of Neutral Evil as of 3.33
  • Rank: Colonel (O-6)
  • Subordinates: Dr. Naoko Akagi (technical attache), Dr. Ritsuko Akagi, Major Ryoji Kaji, 1st Lieutenant Maya Ibuki, 1st Lieutenant Makoto Hyuga, 1st Lieutenant Shigeru Aoba
  • Reason For Joining: Lucifer appointed her as his liaison to the GUAG since she's practically a GUAG member already what with her EVA form being used by Shinji and all. She agreed since the official position allows her to keep a closer eye on her son but makes it clear that for all of his assurances she will not allow even Lucifer to spy on her son.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Low. She's a perfectly decent lady and appreciates her protecting Shinji and his friends but makes it clear that she's here solely for their sake and to oppose her husband's plan. When she's in a better mood, this switches to Medium. Cosmos can respect her motherly devotion and has sincere hopes for their mutual recovery from trauma. She genuinely cares for the Children and has taken both Rei and Asuka as legal wards. She similarly treats the people under her like her own family and like Cosmos will do anything to protect them.
  • Threat Level: EXTREME. She's able to transmute her soul at will into LCL for the EVA Unit-01 and as that unit can go toe-to-toe with powerhouses like Superman and Goku. If she wanted to, she could also cause The End of the World as We Know It if in an extreme temper but is now sane enough to know right from wrong. If you don't hurt her son, she won't unleash such power, and most members of the Division want to protect said son.
  • Main Unit: Evangelion Unit-01 (herself)
  • Position: Commander of WILLE

    Jazz
Jazz, God of Aliens Who Enjoy Earth's Culture (Meister, Jazz of Staniz)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jazz_5.png
His Alt-mode
Movie Jazz
Aligned Jazz
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: A white and blue Autobot insignia
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Rank: Captain (O-3)
  • Colleagues: Sergeant Blaster (tactical sound aide), Specialist Cliffjumper, Privates First Class Gears, Trailbreaker and Sunstreaker
  • Vessel: The Axalon
  • Reason for Joining: He arrived in the Pantheon as part of an Autobot/Maximal strike force created by Ultra Magnus to repel the ever-increasing threat of Megatron's ascended Decepticons. Their first confrontation lead to a quick and decisive victory for Magnus's team, with Jazz taking on Lockdown one on one. Along with the rest of the Autobots who arrived, Jazz was given a position in the GUAG as commander of Optimus' headquarters company.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High. She’s a woman of culture as they say on Earth. Both share faith in humans and do not want the GUAE or anybody else destroying human culture and society for the sake of conquest. Jazz loves human culture; he'll defend it for her.
  • Threat Level: Moderate to High. Despite being lower on the power scale compared to Optimus, his sound attacks can prove devastating to enemy forces. Optimus made Jazz his right-hand man for his talent and it shows. He did get torn in half by Megatron once but we don't talk about that. He also has close ties to the tactical sound units of the Macross deities who are powerful in their own right.
  • Main Unit: Himself
  • Position: Senior Aide to the Autobot Leader, Long-Range Fighter

    Rei Ayanami
Rei Ayanami, Goddess of Emotionless Girls (First Child, GNR, Giant Naked Rei)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mig.jpg
In her Plugsuit
Evangelion Unit-00'
Evangelion Mark.09
  • Intermediate Goddess (sealed Greater Goddess)
  • Symbol: Eva Unit-00, silhouetted against the Moon
  • Alignment: True Neutral, infrequently has shades of Neutral Good
  • Rank: 2nd Lieutenant (O-1)
  • Vessel: AAA Wunder
  • Reason for Joining: Joined at the same time Yui did, the latter having taken her and Asuka as legal wards. She didn't want to join an Alliance at first given her role in causing Third Impact and the fact that some still resent her for causing The End of the World as We Know It as requested by a depressed Shinji. Regardless, Shinji's efforts helped her become more human and she's at least joining for his sake.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Medium. Cosmos always believes there is good in everybody and that Rei just needs care and concern. She's given Rei the emotional support she needs just as much as the other Children. Rei's ambivalence towards Cosmos is more likely due to emotional detachment and loneliness rather than any dislike.
  • Threat Level: High. Like the other Children she has been trained as a Eva pilot and thus demonstrates the physical prowess and mental fortitude one is expected to have. However she is prone to mental instability and apathy towards evil and at her worst only fights because 'she is ordered to'. As a biological clone she can be remade after death but at the risk of losing all the emotions her previous body learnt. Thanks to the GUAG however this is no longer an issue but Melkor is looking to kidnap and mould her into a pariah of evil to initiate his own Impact.
  • Main Unit: Evangelion Unit-00' (upgraded original), Evangelion Mark.09 (last resort unit)
  • Position: Mid-Range Evangelion Pilot

    Suzaku Kururugi

Z-01/S Lancelot siN
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: The Lancelot's head over crossed MVS swords
  • Alignment: Neutral Good, carried out through Lawful methods (detractors perceive him as Lawful Stupid, although he has consistently been willing to defy evil commands and give questionable orders personally for the sake of others)
  • Rank: Lieutenant Colonel (O-5)
  • Vessel: Kurohai
  • Reason for joining: Pure loyalty to Lelouch. He owes his now commander for giving him the all-important Geass command, and (presumably) for helping him to redeem himself. He serves as deputy commander of Lelouch's personal mobile weapons regiment, answering to Colonel Kyoshiro Tohdoh.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Medium to High. Since Lelouch is on her side, he's in. Like Lelouch, he's not too happy with the actions of all the tyrants and villains in the Pantheon, especially Melkor.
  • Threat Level: High. Thanks to the "Live" command he received from Lelouch, it's near impossible to take him out. Even without that he's a trained soldier with near-unreal physical prowess and mastery of kendo despite quitting the course halfway.
  • Main Unit: Z-01/S Lancelot siN
  • Position: Close-Range Knightmare Frame Pilot

    Asuka Langley Soryu/Asuka Langley Shikinami
Asuka Langley Soryu/Asuka Langley Shikinami, Goddesses of Tsunderes (Second Child, Captain Asuka)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/asuka_langley_render_png_clip_art_removebg_preview.png
Asuka Langley Shikinami
Evangelion Unit-02
  • Lesser Goddesses, Intermediate when they goes all-out
  • Symbol: EVA-02 the Nigouki
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (Soryu), Chaotic Good (Shikinami)
  • Rank: 2nd Lieutenant (O-1)
  • Vessel: AAA Wunder
  • Reason for Joining: She has several reasons. One, she loves fighting and proving her worth, and what better enemy than the ultimate evil? Two, due to painful personal experiences she hates manipulative, mind-raping assholes who use other people like dolls before screwing them, and there are many in the GUAE who excel at that. Three, Shinji has joined, so that she must obviously join since she will not let him get hurt- er, she will not let him get other people hurt. One of her targets is the Angel Arael, and she doesn't care if her self-proclaimed nemesis works on Blue-and-Orange Morality, she's gonna kill it.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High but with her temper can change on a whim. Cosmos empathizes with her and helped her to recover during one of her break-downs, so she is indebted to Cosmos. And Asuka Langley Soryu always pays her debts. A bit more of a solid High for her Rebuild version since she's more balanced.
  • Threat Level: High. Even if her Eva is not as powerful as Unit-01 she is still one of the best trained pilots in the Robot War Division. However she is prone to emotional outbursts and self-destructive behavior so she's just as prone to go berserker if she breaks down. And if she dies... she is one of two people whose deaths would make Shinji snap completely. When she was part of the old GUAG Super Robots, Kouji Kabuto was her mentor and his training has made her even more deadly.
  • Main Unit: Evangelion Unit-02
  • Position: Close-Range Evangelion Pilot

    Catherine Kyoubashi
Catherine Kyoubashi, Goddess of Mini Mechas (The beautiful young genius and the beastly robot, Cathy, Takoyaki Lady)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/11adfd76df96c7206cd44c9882b97b06.png
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: A Minigawa
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Rank: 1st Lieutenant (O-2)
  • Reason For Joining: Recruited for her expertise in celestial mechanical engineering and general affinity for mecha. She wants to show that a twelve-year old pint like her is fully capable of piloting an armed robot and is a match for the best trained engineers and technicians in the Division. On the side she also wants to improve Terry with the parts she finds in her RWD hangar.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High. The GUAE would take away her freedom to experiment with mecha and she's not having that. Catherine isn't much a fan of YHVH's 'enlightened world' or Lucifer's 'survival of the fittest' either, since both those dystopias would completely destroy any of her scientific interests or skills for the sake of order and/or chaos.
  • Threat Level: High. Catherine matches geniuses like Tony Stark and Professor Utonium in genius because she entered MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) as a preteen. However, she's terrible at anything that doesn't have anything to do with science or technology such as social relations or etiquette.
  • Main Unit: Terry Yodogawa
  • Position: Close-Range Pilot

    Hana Song/D.Va

  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: A white bunny head in a pink circle
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Rank: 2nd Lieutenant (O-1)
  • Colleagues: The Mobile Exo-Force; Captain Myung (direct superior), 1st Lieutenant Jae-eun Kwon, 1st Lieutenant Yuna Lee, 2nd Lieutenant Kyung-soo Han, 2nd Lieutenant Seung-hwa Shi, Specialist Dae-hyun Park (personal mechanic)
  • Reason for Joining: Joined on the advice of teammate and sometimes partner Tracer who says, "You know, the world could always use more heroes." Worn-out memetic quote notwithstanding, Hana agrees that with what the GUAE has planned, the world could use more heroes like her.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High. The various villains in the Pantheon (especially Mekor and YHVH) want to destroy fun, which includes Starcraft II, her favorite game.
  • Threat Level: High. Hana got much of her mecha piloting skills through playing video games. Her experiences in e-sport competitions have given her a fierce competitive spirit and sheer tenacity against foes. She also happens to be a skilled mechanic with a good rapport with her mechanic Dae-hyun Park.
  • Main Unit: Tokki, her MEKA
  • Position: Mid-range MEKA pilot and on-foot fighter.

    Kallen Kozuki
Kallen Kozuki, Goddess of Attractive Mobile Operators (Kallen Stadtfeld, Q-1, Zero, Domon's Daughter, Asuka Langley Lite, Fanservice Machine, Wanko, Kallen Kasshu, Kallen Soryu / Shikinami, Serial Showerer Kallen)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kallen_stadtfeld.png
Guren Type Special
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: Her Guren Key
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Rank: Major (O-4)
  • Colleagues: 1st Lieutenant Kinoshita, 2nd Lieutenant Benio Akagi (the rest of Zero Squad), Warrant Officer Kagari Savatri (technical attache)
  • Vessel: Kurohai
  • Reason for Joining: To keep an eye on both Zeroes, one who's her rival and the other who's her Love Interest. And to quell rumours that she is Domon Kasshu's daughter or Asuka Langley Soryu's sister.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Medium to High. Her faith in the leader of the GUAG is immense, considering she has equally noble goals like the (ethical) eradication of evil as a superior force and ensuring it only remains the natural counterforce to good. Cosmos in turn places great trust in her abilities and gives her Zero Squad the needed autonomy. Her loyalty to Lelouch takes precedence though.
  • Threat Level: High. Her skill with a Knightmare Frame matches that of the Knights of the Round, elite knights answering directly to the Emperor of Britannia. The radiation arm of her Guren can one-shot kill anything that it hits and the Energy Wing System essentially gives her a variety of remote weaponry. While not on the same level as Lelouch, Kallen is also a gifted planner and tactician.
  • Main Unit: Guren Type Special
  • Position: Commander of Zero Squad, Lelouch's Personal Mobile Weapons Regiment, Close-Range Knightmare Frame Pilot

    Knight Gundam

Knight Gundam in Full Armor mode
His Mobile Suit form
  • Lesser God in standard form, Intermediate God in Full Armor mode, power level unknown when in Superior Dragon form (possible Overdeity)
  • Symbol: His sword, his shield, or an outline of his head
  • Alignment: Neutral Good personified
  • Rank: Colonel (O-6)
  • Reason for Joining: He is literally all that is good within a person's soul, so it just made sense for him to join. What else do you expect from someone who's literally a Gundam?
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High, due to his chivalrous nature. Like Optimus, when he vows loyalty to a figure he respects, he will follow that figure for the rest of his days (unless they turn out to be evil). He views Cosmos as his queen and insists on calling her 'your highness' and more and more of late 'my lady' as a sign of respect. In the same vein, he refers to Amuro as Sir Amuro due to reminding him of a knight from his own world.
  • Threat Level: VERY HIGH to EXTREME. He is also in the GUAG Sacred Knights battalion, so he has been faced with many mythical non-mecha challenges. Also, due to him being the god of the Heroic Second Wind, he will never give up.
  • Main Unit: Himself
  • Position: Close-Range Fighter

  • Symbol: The badge of Langran Kingdom, surrounded with the chibi versions of their Elemental Lord mechas: Cybuster (Masaki), Granveil (Hwang), Goddess (Tytti) and Zamzeed (Mio)
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Rank: 1st Lieutenant (O-2: all)
  • Reason for Joining: Joined as part of one of the GUAG's first concerted recruitment drives, gaining positions at the same time as their ascension. Perfectio (no longer in the Pantheon) and the GUAE have been threatening both Earth and La Gias, and they're not alone. For that reason itself, the GUAG and the GUAN is their close compatriots.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Very High. However, within Langran laws, should Cosmos or any of their commanders fall astray, they were given the rights to strike back at her. And if there's one thing to know about morals, it's much easier to fall from good to evil than rise from evil to good. Fortunately... that is NOT going to happen to Cosmos (unless something really, really bad happens), so they can genuinely be loyal to her without fear of having to rebel or stage a mutiny to maintain the peace of the GUAG. Masaki in particular takes issue with Shu Shirakawa due to previous incidents and refuses to obey him.
  • Threat Level: High. Their mecha have highly advanced radar and spiritual capabilities (a specialty of the Langran Kingdom). They can even supposedly contact the afterlife with their communications systems. Masaki's unit is so powerful that it can predict the future and all present possibilities with disturbing accuracy. In case they activate Possession, all four go straight to EXTREME.
  • Main Unit: AGX-05 Cybuster (Masaki), Granveil (Yang Long), Goddess (Tytti), Zamzeed (Mio)
  • Position: Mid-Range Pilots

In his Plugsuit
  • Lesser God (TV series), Intermediate God (His "End" and "Rebuild" personas), Greater God (his "SRW" persona), Overdeity once he goes mad from the revelation
  • Symbol: The NERV logo
  • Alignment: True Neutral or Neutral Good, verges on becoming just plain chaotic as he becomes less and less sane
  • Rank: 2nd Lieutenant (O-1)
  • Colleagues: 2nd Lieutenant Tōji Suzuhara (Evangelion Unit-03 pilot, reserves only)
  • Vessel: AAA Wunder
  • Reason for Joining: Ayanami... Misato-san... Asuka... they're all depending on him; so... he mustn't run away. That's pretty much it.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Medium to High depending on his sanity. Many GUAG Command members, especially Cosmos actually comforted him and provided positive support when he was feeling depressed. He receives remedies and regular therapy sessions to keep him optimistic and help him out with his personal issues. His loyalty is out of a desire to return the favour and protect everyone.
  • Threat Level: Very High to EXTREME. His destructive potential is as much a danger to the GUAG as it is to the evil-aligned Alliances and villains. Melkor found to his peril that trying to control him is near impossible due to his newly-found positivity in the Pantheon as well as the cosmic power of him and his mother controlling the EVA Unit-01 (SEELE's members are still flummoxed on how Shinji turned their plans around on them at the last minute). And god help Melkor if Shinji ever discovers Warhammer. He's otherwise an ordinary student who just wants to make friends and help others, and keep to himself sometimes.
  • Main Unit: Evangelion Unit-01
  • Position: Close-Range Evangelion Pilot

  • Demigoddess
  • Symbol: Her cross
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Rank: Lieutenant Colonel (O-5)
  • Colleagues: Dr. Ritsuko Akagi (technical attache), Major Ryoji Kaji, 1st Lieutenant Maya Ibuki, 1st Lieutenant Makoto Hyuga, 1st Lieutenant Shigeru Aoba
  • Flagship: AAA Wunder
  • Reason for Joining: To watch over Shinji and the Children, and to a certain extent wants to atone for being cold towards Shinji after certain events. Despite being emotionally broken like the rest of the cast of her universe, she wants to ensure that the ones under her charge from the beginning are not abused in worse ways by the GUAE or any other Alliance.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Medium. She has a better outlook than her superior on the GUAG but that's because she's been there as long as the Children have. Given that there's plenty of pragmatists in the GUAG who don't care for their wellbeing, she'd take protecting her wards over loyalty to her any day. For now she and Cosmos are good.
  • Threat Level: Medium to High. Not a pilot, but she has been given military and firearms training as well as military leadership skills so in spite of being emotionally stunted in some places, she's still very deadly. A Mama Bear to her colleagues and will zealously protect them from any threat Gendo and SEELE sends their way.
  • Position: Deputy Commander of WILLE, Leader of the EVA Special Battalion

Mark-3 Jaeger Gipsy Danger
  • Demigods (Greater Gods when using their mecha)
  • Symbol: Gipsy Danger
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Rank: Captain (O-3: both)
  • Colleagues: Captain Yancy Becket (reserve pilot, currently in rehab), Field Marshal Stacker Pentecost (PPDC Marshal, posthumously promoted)
  • Reason for Joining: Millions of Kaiju are present in the Pantheon and its the PPDC's job to prevent kaiju incursions into their world. They've seen the horrors King Ghidorah and his various allies can do and it's far worse than the typical abomination their world cooks up, since Mechagodzilla couldn't even hold a finger to the real one. Raleigh Becket promised to sign up only if his brother Yancy was resurrected since "he does things way better than I do."
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High. Mako respects her, and thus tends to follow orders, while Raleigh isn't above a little insubordination now and then, but they both do their jobs for good. Mako runs PPDC operations when Pentecost isn't around because she served as Secretary-General after his death.
  • Threat Level: High. They're very unpredictable in a fight, and can take on multiple Category-4 Kaiju, which are pretty much natural disasters on their own. Having defeated one apocalypse attempt has made him even more wary of them. They also never give up. Mako has some trouble with her past trauma of losing her family to Kaiju but she's slowly learnt to move on from the incident.
  • Main Unit: Mark-3 Jaeger Gipsy Danger
  • Position: Close-Range Jaeger Pilots

    Kaiju Roster

While the Second Battlegroup is comprised of Robot units, one shouldn't discount the Kaiju and other massive beasts who are on their side and can go toe to toe with the likes of them on a regular basis. Due to how confusing things can get with them, mythological divinities are not included.
