Awesome Funny Heartwarming LetsPlay Main Trivia YMMV
OOOOH WUTUP DISSIS PCULL. Pcull
(technically, Pcull with five 4's after it, but they're generally not referred to anyway) is a
. And while being emotive and interesting to listen to is generally important for a Let's Player, Pcull is notable for going
above and beyond. He has an
bombastic narration style, full of
wildly vacillating voices and accents
, and his fairly deep natural voice. Add to that a tendency to
ramble at length about whatever comes to mind while he's playing the game
(he once burst into the entirety of a
song just because he felt like it), and you have one wacky LP'er on your hands.
As for the games he's Let's Played themselves, he's tackled a number of games from
systems, mostly the
. He's also played a number of the 2D
games, as well as several licensed titles.
Games Patrick has Let's Played include: This LP'er gives examples of: Angrish: Most of his part in the race is like this, but special mention must be made of one moment late in Battletoads Part 3: After getting thrown across the room for the umpteenth time by one of the rubber ducks in Stage 9, his frustration breaks down into what can only be described as a real-life Stupid Statement Dance Mix. A Rare Sentence: In episode 9 of Pokemon Red, " Shiver me bananas! ...I never thought I would say that in my life. Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny! Big "NO!": Lets Play Super Mario 64 Parts 8 and 10. Tropers with headphones, be careful. It's kinda loud. Brief Accent Imitation: Frequently. British Coppers: One of his stock voices, often lapsed into when he narrates what he's doing. Catch Phrase: "Peace out, mother-truckers!" Celebrity Resemblance: He fully believes Diddy Kong looks like Michael Bolton. Or Michael Bolton looks like Diddy Kong. Cluster F-Bomb: Falls back on them every once in a while. Especially when failing at easy tasks. Department of Redundancy Department: A common gag format. For instance, in episode 13 of Diddy Kong Racing, "This was an unforeseen event that I did not expect! ...hence, it is unforeseen". Doomy Dooms of Doom: He has a tendency to add the phrase "of doom and destruction" to things. Almost to the point of being a Verbal Tic. He also does this with "...of sadness". Ear Worm: In-universe, he considers the Wizpig theme to be this. It doesn't help that his Wizpig race went on for roughly 40 minutes! Fan Nickname: In-universe, he has the habit of calling Diddy Kong " Michael Bolton" (in Diddy Kong Racing) or "Bobby" (in Donkey Kong Country). First Name Basis: He almost exclusively calls himself Patrick (or Patty, if he's being cutesy), and very rarely uses his nickname, except in his intros. Happy Dance: The title screen music causes one at the beginning of his Earthworm Jim 2 LP. Hope Spot: Lampshaded during the Battletoads race. After clearing a hard section, he immediately dies. ProtonJon:
That's what you get for getting cocky.
Pcull44444: I didn't get cocky... I got hopeful. Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy: In Jet Force Gemini, he attempts to get himself killed in order to refill his health. He walks out into a dangerous battlefield full of ant troopers firing lasers and grenades back and forth, presumably at him... and it takes ages for him to finally die, despite only having two health left. Inherently Funny Words: Manages to do this to "...FISH!" in when he shouts it on the last note of the level end jingle. Super Mario World Insistent Terminology: Ezlo in The Minish Cap is always called " Elmo". In , Diddy Kong is " Diddy Kong Racing Michael Bolton" and it gets more and more insistent over time, until by the end of the LP Pcull is even calling the game "Michael Bolton Racing". Ironic Nickname: As revealed in a co-commentary on he actually hates pickles. Donkey Kong 64, Similarly, when singing about how much he loves "FISH FILLETS!" (coins) in he adds that he hates fish in real life. Super Mario World It Runs in the Family: His sister is a Let's Player herself, currently playing the Kingdom Hearts series with a friend of hers. Jive Turkey: One of his many, many stock voices. Large Ham: It is difficult to describe just how large his ham gets without listening to him. Here's note some note examples. note Last Lousy Point: In-universe, happens to him when he attempts to get 100 coins in Shifting Sand Land in He goes into the pyramid, exhausts all the coins in there, and finds himself with... 99. And he can't leave the pyramid, Super Mario 64. no matter how hard he tries. Last-Second Word Swap: "Peace out, mothertruckers!" Of course, he says it at the end of every video, so it's not precisely last second, but it's in the spirit of the trope. Madness Mantra: "THERE'S ONLY TRASH IN HERE!" from episode 11 of Pokemon Red. Malaproper: As he lampshades himself, in he keeps saying "I Diddy Kong Racing keep no prisoners" instead of "I take no prisoners" as a Badass Boast. Man of a Thousand Voices: Of particular note are his "Midwestern mother-in-law," "Surfer Dude," " Christopher Walken," and "Mickey Mouse" voices. He also does an absolutely uncanny Morgan Freeman. During his Minish Cap LP, he decides to give Ezlo a new voice for each episode. Metal Scream: His usual intro. "OOOOOH WUTUP DISSIS PCULL!" He also does this in his Super Mario 64 LP whenever he gets the Metal Cap. Most Wonderful Sound: Seems to think this about Bumper the Badger announcing "My name's Bumpuh!" in a vaguely Australian accent. Motor Mouth: Sometimes. In particular he reads the info point box text incomprehensibly fast in ...apart from the ones he reads as Super Mario World Christopher Walken instead. Nerd Glasses: Invoked in his stream. "How can your glasses be broken? Those are, like, your The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask lifeline to being a nerd!" No Indoor Voice: Absolutely none at all. One of Us: Mentions this page itself by name in his finale. Diddy Kong Racing Performance Anxiety: The Let's Play curse hits him hard in Super Mario 64. Combine this with oddball glitches, and he admits that his fail is probably what's keeping his fans interested. Person as Verb: In the first episode of , he comments "I am a professional Donkey Konger! Donkey Kong Country I Kong Donkeys!" Punny Name: In Pokémon Red, most of the nicknames he gives his Pokemon create puns when coupled with the "Go! [NAME!]" part of the battle text. Except for FLARP! Real Men Wear Pink: He breaks into a song at one point. And he fully admits that he has no problems with knowing, or being able to sing, one. Hannah Montana Rhymes on a Dime: "Goody-goody gumdrop! ...Listen to my tongue flop!" Self-Imposed Challenge: After Argonmatrix disparaged the use of green boosts in , Pcull decided to LP the game without using them. Diddy Kong Racing Shaped Like Itself: In episode 1 of Diddy Kong Racing:
Pcull: Yes! I got a capture card! It is capturing, and it is a card! Shout-Out: When his rival uses the move Teleport in episode 6 of Pokemon Red, Pcull starts referencing Electrical Beast and imitating his accent. The title of his vlog channel, "A Secret Patrick", is a reference to HC Bailly's much-borrowed catchphrase "It's a secret pass-age!" Signature Laugh: "Hufufufu!" Simpleton Voice: He uses one of these for describing Pokemon in his Pokémon Red LP. It sounds sort of like a cross between PJ from and Pinky from Goof Troop Pinky and the Brain. Sophisticated as Hell: Dear Mono Sound Effect Bleep: He sometimes uses the coin collection sound from the original for this. Super Mario Bros. 1 Stealth Pun: His old YouTube avatar was a pickle. Subverted Rhyme Every Occasion: "Tickety tickety tickety tock. This clock hand looks like a giant... flock of seagulls!" He then immediately points out the joke he just made. Surfer Dude: Another one of his stock voices. Tempting Fate: "Just watch, I'm going to spend forty minutes yelling at this game." Actual time on the video: 41 minutes, 50 seconds. In episode 2 of he mentions that he only found out recently that you can fall off the side of the spiral level because 'I've never been bad enough at this game to fall off'. Three guesses what he manages to do seconds later. Diddy Kong Racing Twice. Troll: His friend Clay, who appears alongside him in a few of his videos. In the stream in particular, he's constantly telling Pcull to use absurd The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Tool Assisted Speedrun tactics. Also Pcull himself in Four Swords Adventures. He's been voted the "Hero of Darkness" three times now. Unusual Euphemism: Has started using "Oh, clutch!" as a curse. Verbal Tic: "-appotamus," which he appends randomly to nouns. "Channelpotamus," "boostapotamus," et cetra. Vocal Dissonance: In his Super Mario 64 LP, he gives Toad a deep, manly voice after brushing off a more typical high-pitched one. He also gives Bowser a squeaky, high-pitched voice. With Lyrics: Among others, constantly sings about Fish Fillets to the tune of whatever level music is playing in . Especially the level end jingle. Super Mario World He constantly sings along whatever's on his mind to any one of the songs from . Diddy Kong Racing Peace out, mothertruckers!
