Funny / The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Go To

  • A running gag in several early episodes was that Pooh would say something that, even for him, was incredibly stupid or ridiculous, followed by a Beat in which Rabbit just stares at him blankly as he takes it in.
  • “Pooh Oughta Be in Pictures”
    • Although it’s an otherwise surprisingly tense opening, the detail of Piglet struggling to keep up with the others as they run away from the “mummy” is hilarious. It gets to the point where Pooh is forced to turn around and carry him, admonishing that there's “No time to be brave”.
    • At the "Birdzilla" movie, everyone is enjoying the movie... except Tigger.
Tigger: Oh, boy. They call that a monster?!
  • "Friend in Deed"
    • Rabbit is boarding up his front door to keep Pooh out. Pooh hands him the next board to nail from behind him. When asks how he got in, he replies that the back door was open.
    • Tigger's ridiculous attempt at acting like a bee, to which Pooh asks him to do "a little more uzz and a little less jazz".
    • When Gopher tunnels inside the tree (so Pooh can get some honey for Rabbit) Pooh reaches up to collect honey only to bring back some bees who are impatiently tapping their feet and Pooh then has a priceless Oh, Crap! reaction.
  • "Donkey for a Day,"
    • Rabbit's attempt to cheer Eeyore up. The completely unexpected Evil Laugh is gold.
    • After effectively being force-fed a tree's worth of apples (after being force-fed jars of honey), when a bloated Pooh remarks that they still have lunch, cue a close of an equally bloated Eeyore's Oh, Crap! expression and silently but very frantically trying to scurry away.
      • Before that Pooh telling Eeyore to "watch out" only after he gets hit in the head with Apples, and the third time he does it he gets covered with a whole bunch of apples.
    • When it's Piglet's turn to cheer up Eeyore, Eeyore, after having basically been unintentionally tortured all day, responds by putting a football helmet on his head.
Eeyore: Go ahead, I'm ready. (Covers his eyes) Cheer me up.
    • After Piglet explains the reason behind all the cheering up, Eeyore's line of gratitude is funny because it averts Never Say "Die":
Eeyore: Well, I'm grateful to y'all. Even if you almost killed me.
  • The way Tigger carries the stack of firewood in "No Camp like Home".
    • Also in that episode, Papa Heffalump is allergic to everything, even deep, dark, pits, high heights, and marshmallows. His allergies don't manifest until Mama reminds him of them, but each time she does, he promptly lets out a big sneeze.
    • Papa Heffalump's bizarre overreaction to seeing his house being used as firewood.
Papa Heffalump: Our house! Dingdingdingdingding! OUTTA MY WAY! OUTTA MY WAY! MAN THE LIFEBOATS! WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST! AAOOGAH! AAOOGAH! DIVE DIVE!
  • The gang's feeble efforts to hide the fact they deflated the balloon Christopher Robin lent Pooh include Rabbit painting a boulder red (which evidently feels much heavier than the average balloon), Piglet dressing as a balloon (with his head and limbs still visible), and Tigger making a bubble gum bubble (which doesn't last very long).
  • "Find Her Keep Her" is a mostly serious episode but even it has it's moments of hilarity.
    • Rabbit's early struggles in caring for a baby Kessie, including mistaking her overheating bottle for a "monster", cue mild explosion and Rabbit literally going coo coo and waltzing out the door in his insanity, before Kessie's crying has him bursting through the door back to comfort her.
    • Tigger somehow lapsing into Kessie's speech manner:
      Kessie: Rabby, pleeeeease?
      Tigger: Yeah, Rabby, pleeeeease?
  • "The Piglet Who Would Be King" begins with Pooh stuck inside his toy chest.
    • The whole finale is hilarious as Pooh hears knocking on his door, while he ever so frightened, gets ready with his toy gun.
Pooh Honey-nappers! They shall not pass!
    • His following conversation with Piglet, Rabbit and Tigger seals the deal.
Pooh: Oh, hello, Tigger. How did you get past my honey-napper traps?
Rabbit: Uh, your back door was open.
      Pooh: (Beat) Oh.
Piglet: Oh, why Pooh Bear. You're all out of honey.
Pooh: No, Piglet. I cleverly put it where it's safe from honey-nappers, (points to stomach) right in here.
Rabbit: Sometimes, Pooh Bear, you really amaze me.
  • In "Cleanliness is Next to Impossible", when they try to shove the shoe at the bottom of the bed again after the second time results in the shoe coming out and hitting Tigger in his backside, sending him and Christopher Robin into the closet.
Crud: No more shoes, please. We already have one.
  • "Nothing But the Tooth”:
    • Pooh wakes up one morning and looks at his watch. As he gets out of bed, he slips on his bag of marbles and skids across the floor. Then Piglet enters through the door and slips on the marbles too, and they both crash into the wall.
      Piglet: A-A-Are you alright, Pooh?
Pooh: (rubbing his nose) Yes, I am. This time. See? (shows his watch)
Piglet: Why, Pooh! Your watch has no hands!
Pooh: That's what makes it so easy to tell time. Ouch! (sits up to find a tooth underneath him)
      Piglet: What is it, Pooh?
Pooh: It's a marble that looks very much like a tooth.
Piglet: It's a tooth that looks very much like a tooth! Where'd it come from?
Pooh: I dunno, Piglet. I just bumped into the wall and here it was. No, here it was. (points at the exact spot where he found it) Actually, it's rather good at being found. I'll prove it. (closes his paws) I chose...this one! (opens his left paw, which is empty.) Oh, bother. You choose, Piglet.
Piglet: This one? (points to Pooh's right paw; Pooh opens it and sure enough, the tooth is there)
Pooh: (genuine disbelief) How'd you know?
Piglet: Simple. You just look in the last place first. Anyway, I think we better ask Rabbit about it. You might've knocked out your eye tooth.
Pooh: It would be my nose tooth, since that's what hit the wall.
    • Rabbit inspect the tooth and deduces it as Pooh's "sweet tooth." And since it's gone, Pooh believes he cannot eat anymore honey without it.
    • The tooth eventually winds up in the paws of the Pack Rats and Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit and Gopher race to catch them.
    • While Pooh tries to retrieve the tooth from Owl's house, Rabbit stuffs Piglet into the Pack Rats' sack in case the tooth is in there. Not only do the Pack Rats snatch the tooth from Owl's door rope before Pooh can, it results in them snatching Piglet (still in their sack) as well!
    • Then when the rats discover their little Piglet stowaway and their solution on what to do with him.
Piglet: (from inside the bag) Did I happen to mention I just love walnuts?
Pack Rats: Huh? (They open the bag to find Piglet. They promptly carry him over to a knight statue.)
Piglet: Put me down! (They toss Piglet into the knight's helmet) HELP! LET ME OUT!
    • How do Pooh and the others get Piglet out of that knight statue? Gopher simply takes off his mining helmet, then bangs it on the knight's armor, causing the knight to vibrate intensely, and then the rear flap creaks open and out pops Piglet!
  • From "Honey for a Bunny," the running gag of the boomerang gone awry.
    • Also with Tigger attempting to help Rabbit gather Honey for Pooh Bear, they go the old suction cup plunger shoes route.
Rabbit: (while hanging upside down) I feel like a graceful bird.
      Tiger: DUCK!!!
Rabbit: No, not a Duck, like a swan!
      Tigger: No, DUCK!!!
(Rabbit ducks as the boomerang flies past his head)
Rabbit: I hope these strings are double knotted.
Tigger: Ha-ha-ha of course they are...whats a knot?
Rabbit: (while plummeting to the ground) TIGGEEEEER!!! (crash)
    • Rabbit's mental breakdown near the end of the episode after learning that the Bunny bookend he had been working so hard to retrieve was the one he threw out all along. He babbles and pulls on his ears and ends up rolling down a hill in a wheelbarrow that results in an Off Screen Crash.
  • "The Masked Offender" has Tigger take up the identity of the titular superhero, where he ends up causing more mayhem than heroic feats...
    • He mistakes the scarecrow in Rabbit's garden for an intruder and destroys it. Right after Tigger leaves, hundreds of crows swarm Rabbit's garden and gobble up all the crops in just a few seconds!
    • He fills up Gopher's holes thinking that Gopher's home could get flooded if it rains.
    • He saws down the tree Owl's house is on, thinking Owl could fall and hurt himself if he sleepwalks. Pooh just happens to be visiting Owl when this happens, making the scene reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.
    • The book Christopher Robin is reading at the start of "The Masked Offender" has one. Rabbit may make a genuinely terrifying villain as the bandit El Conejo, but right before he menaces the aristocratic traveling party he gets run over by the coach and pulls himself together while muttering under his breath, "Sunday drivers...!"
  • The entire night time misadventure that is "Things That Go Piglet In The Night":
    • Late into the episode, the ghost-hunting party of Pooh, Owl, Rabbit, and Gopher wander into a giant log. From the other end comes Piglet in a pillowcase (he covered himself in one as protection from seeing ghosts...but then ran from his house when he realized HE could be seen by the ghosts). The two parties bump into each other, after the first opens and shuts an unseen door, and after some politeness, the hunting party (somehow) realizes they just ran into "the ghost" and they run out the way Piglet came at Super-Speed. Even more ludicrous, the quartet continue to DASH UP A TREE AND ONTO A BRANCH where Piglet, who exited the log in the opposite direction, is SOMEHOW there in their way. Their collision knocks them all off the tree, into the pond below, and Piglet's pillowcase finally falls off him.
Piglet: UNH! (knocks into the quartet) Excuse me.
      Owl: Quite alright.
      Piglet: Thank you!
      (Beat)
Pooh, Owl, Rabbit and Gopher: THE GHOOOOOOOOST! (they dash out at Super-Speed)
    • So what was the eerie noise that woke them all up? Eeyore riding the swing as he "doesn't get a chance during the day". Tigger is the only one who discovers this fact early and proceeds to help Eeyore try to swing (well, the kind of help you can expect out of someone like Tigger).
    • In their first attempt, Tigger's strained grunting as he struggles to lift Eeyore onto the swing (with glue painted on). Also a subtle Mythology Gag to remind us that Eeyore is "stuffed with sawdust", thus pretty heavy.
    • In their last attempt, Eeyore is decked out in a makeshift flight pack (re: door for wings on top of a sack for a parachute, a pail on his head with eyes painted out "so he can know which way is front"). Tigger charges from the next hill and Eeyore is subsequently launched into the air. Probably the best part is Eeyore's defeated acceptance of what he's gotten himself into.
Tigger: (from the next hill) Ready!?
Eeyore: No, but go ahead anyway.
      Tigger: Chaaaaaaaaaarge! (charges towards Eeyore)
    • The fact that Tigger's dash to the next hill was instant compared to his charging run for no other reason than Rule of Funny.
    • After the rest of the gang discover that Eeyore was the "ghost", the branch his parachute is snagged onto and he's swinging from breaks, and he begins floating off again. Seeing how fun it is, everybody begins piling onto Eeyore on all sides like on the swing. As they float away into the sunrise, Pooh lampshades the entire fiasco.
  • Tigger's failed attempts to protect Rabbit from broken-mirror-caused seven years of bad luck in "Luck Amok."
    • When Rabbit is trying to relax in a bath, Tigger pops out of the water and, fearing that Rabbit might drown, pulls the plug to drain the tub. Only Rabbit also falls down the drain, complete with a Big "NO!".
Tigger: (in a sinister tone) This isn't the answer, bunny-boy! Ya gotta come out and face your troubles! (takes out a plunger and pulls Rabbit out of the drain)
    • One later plan results in Rabbit getting buried under a mountain of watermelons (long story) - leaving Tigger to dig him out. Pooh arrives at this crazy scene with his usual oblivious friendliness - which makes the following sequence ludicrously funny due to how totally unfazed and immediately accepting he is of the absurdity even while Rabbit is freaking out in front of him.
Pooh: Tigger, what are you doing?
Tigger: I'm digging for Rabbit, Pooh-boy. (Tigger unearths Rabbit's head)
Pooh: Well, you're in luck! (cheerful chuckle) "There's one now!"
Rabbit: (in the middle of an epic Freak Out) (insane sobbing/laughter) S-seven more years! (more insane sobbing/laughter)
Pooh: (as if Rabbit isn't acting strangely at all) Hello, Rabbit! I have just come from your house, where I was looking for you, when I happened to find this. (pulls out the broken mirror) But should I see me in it? Or perhaps I have forgotten how to use it since I loaned it to you...
    • The Insane Troll Logic of Pooh being the real victim of "seven years bad luck" as the mirror was originally his. And then having him switch clothes with Piglet as a means to switch their identities to "fool the bad luck". Tigger inadvertently draws the ire of a hive of bees, forcing the gang into a river below a small cliff. And then the first thing out of Pooh's mouth is a case of pure It Makes Just As Much Sense In Context.
Pooh: Now if I'm Piglet and he's Tigger, but you're Pooh, then Rabbit must be—
      Rabbit: OH, KEEP QUIET!!!
    • Tigger conceals Piglet in a "safety" shelter for 7 years so his bad luck won't hurt him or anyone else. As he and the others leave...
Tigger: I put a bonafide lightning rod up there. Now even lightning will be afraid to come around! (laughs) Let's see bad luck try to get in there! (BOOM!!!! Lightning strikes the shelter almost immediately and destroys the entire shelter, leaving a massive crater with only Piglet, whimpering with an utterly terrified, but absolutely priceless expression on his face, on the only stalk of original ground left; cut to the gang carrying Piglet's bed with them.) Well, that didn't work.
      • Piglet remains whimpering with that terrified-but-hilarious expression in the very next scene, front and center in the foreground while the other three pace behind him.
    • In scene where Tigger decides to run away so he wouldn't harm anyone with his bad luck, he puts ludicrous items in a trunk to move away with, including a sewing machine, a bed and the kitchen sink (which he just casually rips from the plumbing). The funny part was that Tigger was packing Rabbit's stuff.
      Rabbit: MY BED!!!
    • As they watch Tigger leave sadly out the door.
Pooh: We can't let him move away! Not for seven years! He'll miss my birthday.
      (Rabbit faints)
    • When Piglet finally snaps out of his trauma at the end of the episode, he has no idea what's going on!
  • In "The Wishing Bear", when Christopher Robin playfully tricks Pooh into thinking that his wishing star can actually grant wishes (by pulling out a jar of honey that Pooh wishes for while his eyes were covered), Pooh immediately tries to wish for even more honey than before, which scares Christopher Robin into to convincing him not to overdo his wishes or he'll wear out the star. Clearly, Christopher Robin didn't think his little trick through...
  • In "My Hero", after Tigger has been unintentionally tormenting Piglet the whole episode via being his servant (after Piglet inadvertently saved him), Tigger ends up saving Piglet who cries with relief, Tigger then offers to still be his servant and Piglet promptly runs off in terror which baffles Tigger.
  • "Lights Out" begins with Rabbit storming into Pooh's house after he allowed the bear to borrow his shovel, but Pooh forgot to return it. Pooh states he left the shovel in his closet and Rabbit, dismissing Pooh's warnings, opens the door and gets trampled in junk. The last item to fall is the shovel, which Pooh gleefully hands to a nearly buried and grumbling Rabbit.
Rabbit: (banging on Pooh's door) POOH! POOH BEAR! OPEN THIS DOOR THIS VERY— (Pooh opens the door, and Rabbit flops to the ground) ...minute.
    Pooh: Why, hello, Rabbit.
Rabbit: Spare me the small talk, Pooh. (gets to his feet and jabs Pooh's tummy with his finger) I want my shovel back right now! And I'm going to get it!
    Pooh: Your shovel?
Rabbit: You promised you'd return it last week, you silly bear! If I don't begin planting my carrots at the stroke of 12, how will they grow up to be midnight snacks?!
    Pooh: I don't know, Rabbit. Uh...how?
    (Beat)
Rabbit: (pulling his ears in frustration) AAARGH!!! Pooh, no more borrowing! Shovel! Now!
Pooh: Actually, I think I left it in the closet.
Rabbit: Aha! (sprints towards the closet)
    Pooh: But, Rabbit...
Rabbit: No "buts" about it! (opens closet door, only to be trampled by Pooh's knick knacks; the last item to fall is the shovel)
Pooh: Here you go, Rabbit. Your shovel.
    Rabbit: Ohhh...
    • That night, Rabbit is shoveling to plant his carrots, while still grumbling.
Rabbit: Pooh Bear borrows this. And Pooh Bear borrows that. Who does he think I am? (stuffs his shovel into the soil and marches off) Aaah! (trips on his wheelbarrow and falls face-first into the dirt) Of course, there is one problem with planting carrots in the dark. (lifts up his head, the dirt giving him a Santa-like beard) You can't see what you're doing.
    • Rabbit borrows Gopher's helmet to help him garden at night, only to lose it the following morning. When Gopher notices his helmet's gone, he screams, waking up the whole neighborhood.
Gopher: (leaps out of his hole) YAAAAAAH! ROBBERS! BURGLARS! (Later as everyone arrives at Gopher's house) I can't even sleep without getting something...(points at his head)...there. See?
Pooh: It looks like your head, Gopher.
Tigger: Yeah, it's a head alright. Hehehe!
Gopher: Well, there's supposed to be a helmet on it! SOMEONE BORROWED MY HELMET!
Rabbit: Borrowed? (softly) I forgot to return Gopher's helmet! Me!
Piglet: Oh, d-d-d-dear! And without your light it's so...dark!
      Gopher: Y-Y-Yeah. Isn't it?
Tigger: Good thing you're not afraid of the dark, Gopher.
      Gopher: Yeah, g-g-g-g-good thing!
Tigger: And who knows what's living down there?
      Gopher: Living?!
      Tigger: Like...jagulars.
      Piglet: J-j-j-jagulars?!
      Tigger: Or heffalumps.
      Gopher: Uh, h-h-heffa-madingos?
      Tigger: Or maybe...woozles.
      Gopher: W-w-w-w-woozles!
Tigger: Yeah, you never know what kinda ickity-stickity things live down in the...dark!
Gopher: DARK?! YIKES!!! (scrambles into his mailbox)
    • Pooh mistakenly believes he lost Gopher's helmet so he climbs down Gopher's hole to find it.
Piglet: Pooh, do you think it's a good idea to go down there all alone in the dark?
Gopher: Dark?! AAAH! (clings onto Tigger's head. Tigger struggles to pull him off)
Pooh: But I'm not alone, Piglet. I've got my jar of honey!
Piglet: But don't you remember leaving Gopher's helmet in his tunnels?
Pooh: No. But I also don't remember taking his helmet. Therefore, I probably lost it where I don't remember going. (falls into the hole) AAAAAAAAAH!
    • The part where panicking Gopher runs face to face with Eeyore and screams, then faints.
    • Whenever someone is startled by Pooh Bear in the tunnels, they accidentally put out his candle, forcing him to relight it. When Rabbit is about to do the same, Pooh Bear puts the candle out himself.
Pooh: Helmet, is that you? (holds up his candle up to Tigger's face)
Tigger: YAAAAAAAAH! (his scream puts out Pooh's candle, leaving them in total darkness. Pooh relights it)
Pooh: Hello, Tigger. I didn't expect to see you down here.
Tigger: I-I came to rescue you, buddy bear. I thought you might be lost!
Pooh: I'm not lost! I'm right where I'm standing! (his cheerful grin quickly turns into a worried frown) Unfortunately, where I'm standing may be lost.
      (A noise is heard)
Tigger: What's that? What's that?! (leaps onto Pooh's shoulders; Pooh holds up his candle to reveal Eeyore)
Eeyore: YAAAAAAAH! (his scream extinguishes the candle, too; Pooh relights it again)
Pooh: Hello, Eeyore. Have you come to rescue me, too? (Another noise is heard and Pooh holds up his candle to show Rabbit. Just as Rabbit opens his mouth to scream, Pooh quickly blows out the candle himself)
Rabbit: YAAAAAAAH! (Pooh relights the candle)
Pooh: Hello, Rabbit! If you're lost, you've come to the right place!
Tigger: Yeah, 'cause of buddy bear taking Gopher's helmet, we're gonna be down here forever!
      Eeyore: Or longer...
  • "The New Eeyore":
    • Tigger's first lesson for Eeyore is to say "Hello". Eeyore learns this lesson a bit too well.
      Eeyore: Hello. Hello. Hello.
Gopher: Can't he do more than say hello?
Eeyore: Hel—[Piglet pins a tail on him, making him jump]—LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
[Eeyore lands in a basket full of apples and water]
Tigger: Yeah! He can say hello with enthusiasm!
      Eeyore: Hello.
    • In hopes of becoming popular, Eeyore tries to mimic Tigger, stripes, bouncing, catchphrases and all.
      Eeyore: (normal deadpan voice) Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo.
    • The others have a problem realizing it's not Tigger at first. And then there's Rabbit's reaction after finding out Eeyore bounced them:
Rabbit: (terrified) Oh, no! Oh, my! Not TWO OF THEM!?!
    • The highlight of the episode has to be Eeyore's attempt at following Tigger's "advice" of having "speed and grace" to be a Tigger, which translates to putting on roller skates on all for legs...and he naturally can't control himself. Tigger, Gopher, Rabbit, and Pooh get dragged along for the insane ride. Especially Gopher ending up water-skiing on the surface of a lake as he continues to hang onto Eeyore via tail (which miraculously DOESN'T get pulled off, of all the times it probably should have come off given how easily it does).
  • "Party Poohper"
    • Pooh's attempts at making a cake, with him misinterpreting all of the instructions.
Pooh: Two egg whites...but they're all white... (...) One cup of...flowers... (...) Now was that one dash of salt, or one dish?
    • To keep the bunnies out of Rabbit's hair for awhile, he has Piglet read them a story. The fact that Piglet sounds so gleeful while telling such a sad story is even more hilarious.
Piglet: "Then the mean giant gobbled up the whole village! And lived happily ever after. The end."
Rabbit: (pops out of a basket, tossing papers everywhere) Where does the schedule say "Bunnies cry?!" Where?! Show me where!
    • Tigger comments that when he throws a party, he just invites the guests in and wings everything else, and following a schedule isn't any fun.
Rabbit: "Fun?" Did you say "fun?" This is a party! Who said anything about fun?
    • Gopher first attempt to get hunny involves using two long sticks with large gloves on the end. After squeezing the hive and getting hunny all over himself, the bees chase after Gopher. Unlike usual bee attacks in the show, the bees don't try to sting him; they use his gloves on sticks.
    • After the failed attempt mentioned above, Gopher decides to resort to explosives to get hunny. After tossing maybe 50 barrels of explosives, he says he's going to get some more, saying he wants to do it right the first time.
  • "The Old Switcheroo" has Tigger decide to hide Roo in a flower pot in Piglet's house; the former takes the flower out first:
    Piglet: My rhododendron!
Tigger: (placing Roo in the flower pot before handing him the flower) It's a Roo-dodendron now.
  • From "To Catch a Hiccup":
    • Everyone seems to have it in their heads that hiccups are animals.
      • They make a "hiccup trap" and when Eeyore falls into it, they think he's a hiccup that just looks like Eeyore.
Eeyore: "If you didn't want me to eat the cake [that was the bait for the trap], then why did you leave it lying around?"
      • Tigger believes that the reason water can make the hiccups go away is because hiccups can't swim.
      • When Piglet's hiccups go away, Tigger wonders where they went.
      • Tigger thinks that scaring people to get rid of the hiccups works because hiccups are "cowardly scaredy-cats".
        Piglet: "But so am I!"
    • Owl thinks the solution is to just have Piglet do a handstand to make the hiccups "hicc down" because apparently it worked on Ebeneezer, a relative of his. Because Owl is sitting on Piglet's feet, when he starts hiccuping so hard that he bounces around, he starts being an impromptu pogo stick for Owl.
    • Winnie the Pooh thinks Piglet is playing a game when he has the hiccups.
  • From "Rabbit Marks the Spot",
    • The way the episode opens. The camera zooms out of Tigger's mouth as he's singing the opening song. It's so unexpected and hilarious.
    • Also, Rabbit's reaction to the pirate ship about to mow him down. As he ducks underneath the soil and the ship goes right over him. Then Rabbit climbs out, very pissed and just reaching his breaking point.
Rabbit: I'm not going to get mad...I'M GOING TO TEACH THEM A LESSON!
    • When their ship falls into a stream in a ravine and is "sinking", Tigger tries to jump ship, and when Piglet protests, the former cites the captain's duty of Going Down with the Ship. Piglet then tries to pass off the position of captain to Tigger, who fobs it back to him, and so on and so forth. The gag fades into the foreground when Pooh discovers Rabbit's map-in-a-bottle...while he and Gopher were each attempting to bail water, unwittingly at each other's direction.
    • Rabbit has to outright direct the pirate gang in finding the treasure when they keep Comically Missing the Point with his prank:
Tigger: The treasure! We found it! And it's exactickally what I always dreamed of...My very own "X"!
Rabbit: (pops up from hiding behind the treasure location handing a shovel) The treasure's under the "X", Tigger. YOU HAVE TO DIG IT UP!
      Tigger: Oh-ho-ho. So we do.
    • After the fake treasure chest makes a hole through Piglet's floor:
      Piglet: "Where'd it go?"
      Tigger: "In the basement."
      Piglet: "But I don't have a basement!"
      Tigger: "You do now!"
    • After his My God, What Have I Done? nightmare, Rabbit pretends to be the ghost of Long John Cottontail to convince the pirates to return his chest. When they lower the drawbridge to push a reluctant Piglet to dealing with him, it slams onto Rabbit, Yosemite Sam-style. They then just think he vanished like normal.
    • The Gainax Ending of Long John Cottontail's ghost being real, and his attempt to haunt them for finding his treasure, which apparently actually was buried rocks. The pirates and Rabbit simply Freak Out and run, much to the utter confusion of the ghost.
  • "Goodbye Mr. Pooh" is another mass confusion plot, where everyone misinterprets Pooh as planning to move away. Eventually Pooh hears the rumour and is convinced himself, not wanting to ruin expectations.
  • The climax of "Groundpiglet Day" wherein Rabbit, Pooh, and Tigger mistakenly believe that Piglet has frozen solid into a snowman shape out in the snow, especially when "Piglet" starts to melt in Rabbit's house.
Rabbit: TIGGER! YOU'RE STEPPING IN PIGLET!!
    • Of course, Piglet turns out to be fine and walks in on the bizarre scene of a hysterical Rabbit apologizing to a bowl of water.
      Rabbit: How do you feel?!
Piglet: (calmly walking up and standing behind Rabbit) Well, I feel badly for saying it was spring in the middle of winter.
Rabbit: What? That? Don't worry about that! It was all my fault!
Piglet: But I was the groundhog...
Rabbit: But my calendar! Snow! Spring! Winter! The pages! (blubbering) I never should have asked you to be a groundhog in the first place! Do you understand?!
      Piglet: I think...
Rabbit: Can you ever forgive me?
      Piglet: Of course, Rabbit!
(It's at this point that Rabbit sees the alive-and-well Piglet standing behind him.)
Rabbit: (to the bowl) Did you hear that, Piglet? Piglet forgives me! (realization sinks in; cue Rabbit FLYING through the air and slamming into the back wall in shock) PIGLET!!
    • After this, though, Pooh has further questions:
Pooh: (staring into the bowl of water in worry) Oh no...if that's Piglet, then who is this?
Tigger: Kinda resembles Eeyore...especially around the eyes.
  • "All's Well that Ends Wishing Well"
    • When making birthday wishes, Tigger accidentally wishes for lima beans. Twice. His reactions to each time are funny too.
Tigger: (initially) ...banana splits and pogo sticks, and submarines, and lima beans, and... Lima Beans!? Eeeeyuck! How'd they get into my birthday?
Tigger: (later) ...some cookies and cream, and aquamarines, and a matching pair of lima beans, and... Lima Beans!? Eeeeyuck! How'd they get in here again?
    • Tigger's obsession with banana splits and pogo sticks. His reaction to getting them at the end is priceless. Also doubles as a Heartwarming Moment.
    • Special mention needs to be given to the LONG Rhymes on a Dime birthday wishlists that Tigger comes up with throughout the episode.
    • At the actual party, after blowing the candles (and cake. Onto Rabbit's face), he opens the presents. When we get to Pooh's present...it's empty...and Tigger doesn't seem to care, hugging the empty box.
      Piglet: Pooh, your present's empty!
Pooh: Yes, Piglet! I couldn't think of what to give Tigger. I'd rather hope he'd look at the box and say "My, it looks too pretty to unwrap!", (chuckles, then tone changes) and then he wouldn't.
    • Eeyore's gift is a LITTLE more inspired, at least.
Eeyore: (voice coming from somewhere as he's not with the others) Couldn't think of what to give you, (Tigger pulls him out of present, with a ribbon on his head) so I got ya me.
    • Piglet, Rabbit and Tigger get Eeyore to lower them into the well. Tigger's instructions and Eeyore holding the rope in his mouth lead to disaster.
Tigger: Now, remember: two ringie-dingies means “more of down”, and three ringie-dingies means “stop”. Four ringie-dingies means “Lunchtime, send down some icy cream” and...
Eeyore: (opening his mouth and letting go of the rope) What does that mean?
Tigger: It means don’t let (they fall down the well) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
      (SPLASH!)
  • "Un-Valentine's Day" needs mentioning here. If not the entire episode, then at least...
    Piglet: I AM CUUUUUUUUUPPIIIIIIIDDDDDDD!!!
    • Also, Rabbit has crammed the hundreds of valentines from last year into his wardrobe. When he receives a valentine carrot this year, he panics and throws it, which results in it hitting said wardrobe and releasing all of the valentines. His reaction is priceless.
Rabbit: No! No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (His entire house is buried in valentines) POOH BEAR!
    • "Since when does a valentine need gunpowder?"
    • Rabbit trying to take all of the credit for the Valentine play.
Rabbit: Ladies and Gentlemen! Rabbit presents a Rabbit production of... Rabbit's valentine to Christopher Robin!
Rabbit: (unrolling a huge roll of paper) Directed by Rabbit. Written by Rabbit. From an original idea by Rabbit. Based on a notion by Rabbit. Starring... (dully) the others.
Roo and Gopher: (wave at him to give them [the orchestra] credit as well.)
Rabbit: Oh, yes! Original music composed by Rabbit too!
      * In "No Rabbit's a Fortress"
    • Rabbit is hammering a keep out sign in his garden just as Pooh and Piglet arrive carrying a whole bunch of honey pots, and Rabbit chews them out for entering his garden, when they've barely even entered through the gate.
Pooh: Good morning, Rabbit. I've come to return the honey jars I borrowed for breakfast.
Rabbit: How could you?! You're in my garden!
      Piglet: We are?
Rabbit: The signs say, "keep out", among other things! Can't you read them?!
Pooh: Oh, I can read them, Rabbit. I just can't see them.
Piglet: WHOA! (loses his balance from carrying the heavy load of honey pots and falls face-first into the dirt)
Rabbit: Piglet! Look what you've done! (Rabbit moves filthy Piglet aside, revealing a squished carrot) A young, vibrant carrot mushed before its prime! And all because you and Pooh have no regard for my garden!
    • Tigger then smashes a few of Rabbit's crops soon followed by Gopher blowing up Rabbit's garden, resulting in Rabbit finally snapping.
Rabbit: Tigger, no, no, NO! (Rabbit lunges at Tigger, pinning him to the ground) MY GARDEN'S RUINED!
Tigger: Nah, I just gave it that "bounced-in" look.
(Gopher begins tunneling beneath the garden, sending many of Rabbit's vegetables popping out of the earth)
Rabbit: What now?! (grabs a hammer) I'll teach you to dig up my vegetables! (swings the hammer, hitting a watering can, which flies through the air and lands on his head) Oh, my! Who turned out the lights?! Where's my garden?! (Gopher pops out of the earth)
Gopher: So, that explains all those roots in my way. (pulls out a detonator) Well, it's gonna have to go. (hands the detonator to Rabbit, with the watering can still obscuring his head) You don't mind if I clear away some of the deadwood, do ya, Rabbit?
Rabbit: Do what you want, Gopher! Just stay out of my garden!
Gopher: Comin' though, everybody! Stand clear!
Tigger: Stand clear of what, Gopher?
Gopher: The big kerpowie, that's what.
Piglet: Kerpowie? Oh, d-d-d-dear, I don't think I like the sound of that.
Pooh: Maybe you'd better hold your ears, Piglet. Like this. (covers his eyes)
Gopher: Here we go. Push this doohickey down and...
      Piglet: Uh-oh!
(Gopher pushes the plunger down. The entire garden explodes and all the vegetables fall and bury Rabbit. Rabbit pops out of the pile)
Rabbit: Did somebody say something? (the keep out sign he was hammering earlier lands in his hands) "Keep out."
Gopher: Well, that takes care of that. Back to my diggin'.
Rabbit: (sees an enormous crater where his garden used to be) MY GARDEN! IT'S GONE! GONE!
Tigger: Hahaha! Oh, cheer up, floppy-ears. It's not gone. It's just been...tossed. Hey, got any Tarzan island dressing?
Rabbit: THIS IS YOUR FAULT! ALL OF YOURS! First Pooh and Piglet, then Tigger, now this! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS RUIN MY GARDEN?! It never did anything to any of you! Well, from now on, I'm a rabbit unto MYSELF! (storms off)
Pooh: Is it just me, or does something seem to be bothering friend Rabbit?
    • Rabbit builds a fortress around his garden to keepPooh, Piglet and Tigger out of his garden for good, only to soon realize that he has trapped himself inside the fortress.
Rabbit: Now for a little peace and quiet. And gardening. Hmm... Where did I leave my shovel? Oh, yes, it's right outside THE DOOR?! (screams and panics) THE DOOR! I FORGOT TO MAKE A DOOR! I can't get out! I'm trapped! DOOMED!
    • The several failures to destroy the fortress:
      • First, Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Gopher try to use battering ram to break the fortress down...only for it simply thud against the fortress, to no effect.
Rabbit: (vibrating in a manner similar to a jackhammer) OH-HO-HO-HO! MY-Y-Y!
Tigger: Hey! How come we do all the work, and Bunny-boy gets to do all the bouncing?!
      • Next, Pooh, Tigger and Gopher try pulling a large plank with Piglet on top.
Rabbit: Go on! Pull! Pull! Pull!
Pooh: (out of breath) I'm afraid there may not be any pull left in me.
Tigger: Maybe if we got a better grip.
(They let go of the plank, catapulting Piglet into the air, sending him flying far, far away)
        Piglet: YAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
Gopher: Sure hope he's got a round trip ticket. (starts to walk away...only for Piglet to crash right into him)
      • Then they try to vacuum Rabbit out of the fortress. Rabbit is quick to point out that it's completely flawed.
Rabbit: Tigger, there's no possible way you can get me through that little hole! I'm just too big!
Tigger: (places a vacuum nozzle through the tiny hole) Oh, Rabbit, it's just a small matter of Tigger-nometry. We'll have ya vacuumed free before you can say, "hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!"
(Piglet strains to crank up the pump to power the vacuum.)
        Piglet: Oh, dear.
(A big lump goes through the tiny hole and through the vacuum tube)
        Pooh: We did it!
        Gopher: Sure was simple.
        Piglet: I hope Rabbit's alright.
        Tigger: Genius. Pure genius.
(Pooh and Tigger look through the hole in the fortress to see Rabbit still inside)
Pooh: Rabbit, what are you doing in there when you should be in there?
Rabbit: I told you I was too big to fit through the hole!
Tigger: Yeah, maybe. But what happened to your garden?
(The vacuum begins to overload and the pump starts rotating at an excessively faster rate, causing Piglet to lose his grip on the pump and be launched into the air)
Piglet: YAAAH! (The vacuum explodes, sending several vegetables flying through the air. Piglet lands on the ground, and is buried by all the vegetables.)
    • After all those failures, Rabbit has completely given up. The following exchange crosses between funny and TearJerker (mostly funny).
Rabbit: Oh, I might as well face it. I'll probably spend the rest of my life in here.
Tigger: Yeah, but look at the bright side, Bunny-boy. Maybe you won't live that long.
Piglet: Isn't there anything we can do, Rabbit?
Rabbit: No. Except maybe try not to forget me.
Pooh: Of course not, um... uh... Rabbit?
    • Just when they are about to give up, Gopher says he has tunnels that need blasting, which gives the other three a "Eureka!" Moment.
Piglet: Hmm, that's an idea. Blast him out.
Tigger: Hmm, that's an idea. Blast him out.
Pooh: Hmm, that's an idea. I wonder how much longer till lunch.
    • As Gopher has the fortress wired to his detonator and just as he's about to blow up the fortress, he explains that just one keg will be sufficient to destroy the fortress without harming Rabbit, which leads to this exchange:
      Pooh: (nervously) Only one keg?
      Piglet: Oh, dear...
      Tigger: Uh-oh!
Gopher: STAND CLEAR! (The entire fortress blows up in a massive explosion leaving an enormous crater in its wake) You too, Rabbit!
Pooh: Do you think perhaps we should have told Gopher that we each used one keg, too?
    • Thereafter, Rabbit is nowhere to be found and the cast believe he's been blasted to pieces by accident. It turns out he's okay; just stuck dangling from a high branch in a tree. After everyone realizes he's alive, and debate how to get Rabbit down, Pooh offers this very simple solution:
Pooh: Hellooo, Rabbit! (waves up cheerfully at him).
Rabbit: Hm? Oh, hi, Pooh Bear. (lets go of tree branch, using his arm to tiredly wave back at him not thinking about it. Beat.) AAAHHH!
Pooh: (turns around calm and cheerful) See? I thought it might work.
(Rabbit, still screaming in mid-fall, crashes off-screen directly on top of Pooh. Cut to a cartoony smoking hole cutout shape in the ground of both Rabbit and Pooh's bodies colliding together!)
Tigger: You were right, buddy boy! Not only didja get Rabbit out of the tree—YOU CAUGHT HIM, TOO!
  • "The Monster FrankenPooh"
    • Gopher's fall in this episode has to be his longest fall in Winnie the Pooh history, lasting well over twenty seconds.
Gopher: Muh, muh, muh, muh, mons— (gets crushed and falls back into hole) TEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR...
    • At the beginning, Tigger requests Piglet to tell a story about spookables, horribible creatures, and things that go shopping in the night.
    • Tigger gets pretty bored with Piglet's story fast.
Tigger: I got better things to do than listen to this. Think I'll trim my toenails. Better yet, I'll go trim Pooh's toenails.
Rabbit: Tigger, where are your manners?
Tigger: I dunno. But I bet they're havin' more fun than I am.
    • After Piglet tries to take control of the story again, Piglet says that the monster shouldn't be the size Tigger's described him.
Tigger: You're right, Piglet! He oughta be, maybe, quadrupally as big!
FrankenPooh: (after growing) Mmph! Tigger...I seem to have reached the top of the picture.
    • And of course, there’s the Duck Season, Rabbit Season exchange between Tigger and Piglet, with a slight twist at the end.
Tigger: Say, it's the middle of broad daylight! Even a not-so-scary story has to happen at night, you know!
Piglet: Oh, but, this one happens in the daytime!
      Tigger: Night!
      Piglet: Day!
      Tigger: Night!
      Piglet: Day!
      Tigger: Mornin'!
Piglet: Evening! [realizes what just happened] Oh, dear...
  • In "Where Oh Where Has My Piglet Gone", Pooh tries to catch a hammer using nails. He instead catches a saw. Even funnier, Pooh doesn't even seem bothered by this simply declaring "Oh bother! Not even close!"
  • "Three Little Piglets" is simply the funniest episode of the series, or any Winnie the Pooh series, for that matter. Pooh tries to read the story of the Three Little Pigs, but he and Tigger begin taking liberties with the source material in every way imaginable: Pooh continually attempts to insert honey into the story, the wolf becomes an annoyed Rabbit wearing a Big Bad Wolf costume, he mistakenly mixes in elements from other fairy tales ("the Big Bad Bunny was going to see his grandmother..."), the house of sticks becomes a house of cards, Tigger tries to save the pigs as the Masked Offender, and finally, Rabbit ends up getting drenched by a honey eruption.
  • "Fast Friends":
    • The gang manages to speed Pooh up by putting him on roller-skates. Unfortunately, since he doesn't know how to stop, Pooh just rushes around the Hundred-Acre-Wood, and one-by-one the gang realizes their mistake as he zips by and disrupts their day. First with Rabbit:
Piglet: Rabbit, do you think Pooh's being so very fast is really such a very good thing?
Rabbit: Of course it isn't good, it's wonderful! We've been trying to speed that bear up for ever! (Cue Pooh rushing by, wrecking Rabbit's garden and leaving Rabbit and Piglet buried up to their next in the soil) On the other hand...
    • Then, when they go to Tigger's house to complain.
Rabbit: The new Pooh is a menace to everyone!
Tigger: Don't be ridikkerous! The only good Pooh is a fast Pooh!
(Cue Pooh rushing by again, leaving Rabbit, Piglet and Tigger stuck in Tigger's tire swing)
Tigger: But I wish he wouldn't do that!
    • Finally, when all three go to Gopher's:
Gopher: What's everybody complaining about?! Pooh's perfect! He's the fastest bear on two— (Cue Pooh rushing by again; Rabbit, Tigger and Piglet are blown off their feet and cling to Gopher's mailbox to stop themselves being blown away) FEEEEEEEET!
(Rabbit, Tigger and Piglet drop to the ground.)
Tigger: Missed us that time, Buddy Bear!
  • "Sham Pooh":
    • The entirety of the episode. Long story short, Pooh isn't hungry for honey for once, leading everyone to believe that he's somebody else. This somehow leads to everyone thinking that Owl is Pooh (because Owl wanted some honey), Gopher is Owl (because Gopher was reminded of his relative), Piglet is Gopher (because they're about the same size), and Rabbit is Piglet (because Rabbit said, "Oh d-d-dear!" when worrying about his garden). The absurdity of it all is lampshaded expertly by Tigger:
Tigger: We better find that appetite of yours, before this gets so confusin' even I can't figure it out!
    • Tigger calling himself a "private ear" (he meant private eye).
    • Tigger thinking Pooh looks larger because he was looking at him through a magnifying glass.
    • Throughout the episode, Pooh believes his appetite is a lost object and so laments not being able to find it in the honey tree... despite clearly being hungry and eating the honey.
Piglet: "For someone with no appetite, you sure are eating a lot of honey."
    • Pooh referring to his honey as a "balanced breakfast" because the honey pots were stacked on top of one another.
  • "Sorry, Wrong Slusher": one moment stands out is when Christopher Robin sees a "slusher movie" and Tigger reads the title, which is basically a summary of every slasher film/series plot ever.
Tigger: "The Slusher Who Slushed Everyone—And Then Came Back To Slush 'Em Again!"
    • Heck, the entirety of the Slusher episode was a huge Funny Moment. Especially when Tigger gets on Christopher Robin's nerves.
    • "The names of the animals were changed to protect the innocent."
    • "I charge you all with first-degree noise-making. And I'm throwing the book at you!"
    • About the slusher in the movie:
Tigger: Aww, he's just carrying a butter knife.
Piglet: Oh, d-d-dear! The poor butter!
  • The episode "Grown, But Not Forgotten" features an Imagine Spot of Christopher Robin as an adult. He comes home from work and comes home to his wife who turns out to be Tigger in drag.
Tigger: Playin' the hard part is what Tiggers do best!
    • To make it even funnier, Gopher plays the part of their child.
Gopher: Jumpin' crawdaddies, how'd I ever let you talk me into this?
Tigger: He's...uh...always a little cranky before his evening feeding.
    • Crosses over with Hilarious in Hindsight in light of the 2018 Christopher Robin film.
  • In "Pooh Day Afternoon", Pooh, Tigger, and Christopher Robin are trying to find Skippy, the dog they lost, knowing he always comes to the sound of a horn. The problem is, Skippy has the horn with him, so Tigger improvises.
    Tigger: SKWONKY! SKWONKY!
Pooh: Hmm, for a minute, I thought you sounded just like the horn.
Tigger: Really? I can also do a bottle of pop. Gulp gulp gulp gulp gulp.
Christopher Robin: Now if only there were some way to make it louder.
Tigger: GULP GULP GULP GULP GULP!
Christopher Robin: (annoyed) I meant the horn sound!
    • They then decide to let Tigger make the horn noise in a supermarket microphone to make it carry throughout town, and Christopher Robin needs to distract the manager while that happens.
Christopher Robin: Excuse me sir, but my baby needs some baby food.
Pooh: (dressed in a bonnet) Waah! (giggles)
    • This gets even funnier by the fact that the manager doesn't seem to notice this is strange at all. Neither Christopher Robin (a child) saying he has a baby nor a talking stuffed animal pretending to be a baby fazes him.
    • Then, when the manager gets knocked over by Skippy the dog, he ends up with a cardboard box on his head, and hears Tigger imitating the sound of the horn.
      Tigger: SKWONKY! SKWONKY!
Manager: (from inside the box, still unfazed) Skwonky? I don't carry any skwonky.
    • Also, when Gopher tells off Tigger for using his vacuum without asking first.
Gopher: You didn't even ask to borrow it!
Tigger: (Beat) Can I borrow the...
      Gopher: No!
  • The western episodes. For example, this exchange from The Good, The Bad and the Tigger:
Tigger: I am the Tigger with no name.
Pooh: I am the Pooh with a name! If only I could remember it. Oh bother.
    • A reminder to those who don't get it: Pooh's name is Edward Bear, except odds are almost no one who watched this knew that...
    • Near the beginning when Tigger is trying to get on the train and finally get's on after a considerable amount of effort. He is wondering how Pooh managed to get their so fast. Follow Pooh lampshading the event. (Which is repeated later.)
    • This gem at the beginning of the episode where the gang is observing Christopher Robin's new train:
Tigger: Hey, where's the propeller on this thing?
Rabbit: Tigger, trains don't have propellers! Although it does seem to be missing its rudder.
  • From "The Wise Have It", when Piglet is trying to remember what he needs to do:
Piglet: Water the rhododendron? No... Shine the woodwork? No... Wax the floor? (slides across the floor) NoooooooOOOOOOOOO...!
  • "Piglet's Poohetry" is absoluty hilarious, but this line takes the cake:
Tigger: I love to smell the pretty flowers, when I take a morning stroll. But I'm so busy sniffing, I fall into a hole.
    Piglet: (in story) YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
    • Later, when Tigger's narration leads to Piglet being chased by a swarm of bees, the latter runs headlong into a wall that appears out of thin air while bees are still in pursuit, leading to this exchange.
Tigger: Did I mention the brick wall?
      Piglet: No.
      Tigger: Sorry...
  • The scene in the Christmas Special when Pooh, dressed up as Santa Claus, is stuck in Tigger's chimney. Tigger thinks it's really Santa and starts bouncing gleefully around: "SANTY'S COMIN' DOWN THE CHIM-EN-Y!" It really has to be seen to be appreciated.
    • Not to mention Tigger "helping" Santa-Pooh get back up the chimney.
Tigger: (getting a broom and fulcrum) "Hey, anything for ol' Saint Nick! A one... a two... A FIRE!"
(Catapults Pooh back up the chimney and flying far, far away)
      Santa-Pooh: MEEERRRYYY CHRRRIIIIISSTTMMAAAAAAASSSS!!!
      Tigger: Come back any time!
    • Rabbit and Tigger enlisting Gopher to chop down a Christmas tree for them. Being small, Gopher is on the last splinter of chopping the Christmas tree, before it crushes him and he barely lifts it up and yells, "TELL ME WHERE YOU WANT IT! TELL ME WHERE YOU WANT IT!"
    • Also, when they find the perfect spot to put the tree, they tell him to put it right on top of his hole!
    • Santa-Pooh delivering Rabbit's present is hilarious, from Santa-Pooh coming in through the window as opposed to the chimney, landing on Rabbit, to simply dumping the present on him with a blunt “Here” before scuttling off before Rabbit recognises he's an impostor.
  • "Tigger Is The Mother of Invention" may well be one of the funniest episodes. After a heavy snowfall one winter, Tigger gets a Frankenstein-esque obsession with creating an invention to lighten heavy workloads. He locks himself inside his home for many months and turns away everyone who comes to visit.
Tigger: Please do not knock, ring bell, or otherwise disturb the genius.
    • After almost a year, he invites his friends inside as he reveals his "invention".
Tigger: Behold the dawn of a new error!
    • Tigger's invention wrecks houses instead of cleaning them, destroys gardens, and terrorizes everyone. Later, he augments the invention to create miniature inventions of its own.
Tigger: Thanks to your encouraging remarks, I've taken the inventing of inventions to new depths. I present my new, improved invention to end all inventions!
      Piglet: Oh dear!
    • Tigger gives Pooh, Piglet, and Rabbit one miniature each. Of course, Tigger is oblivious to the distress the inventions cause his friends.
Tigger: How gratifryin' to see satisfried customers!

Gopher's Hole

The residents of the Hundred Acre Wood all have trouble with Gopher's hole from time to time, not just Gopher himself.

How well does it match the trope?
