Ultimate Sonic Fighters is an Intra-Franchise Crossover created by OmegaMorph. Much like Sonic Villains, heroes and villains from every continuity of Sonic the Hedgehog come together and clash over to save/take over the world.

In addition, two "Alternate" versions of the story with modified plot points are also made - Super Side Stories, featuring OmegaMorph's own characters - which more highlights the specific scenes in which these OCs change - and Super Guest Stories, a Crossover with various other media, which can change certain elements of the plot.

:Tropes featured in this fanfic include:

  • Accent Upon The Wrong Syllable: Movie!Robotnik's dialogue is written this way to match the performance of Jim Carrey.
  • Actor Allusion:
    • Grounder ponders why the Navy Chief of Staff is so familiar. They're both played by Garry Chalk.
    • Movie!Robotnik manages to infiltrate G.U.N with the alias "Dr. Jim Christmas.
    • And of course, the Underground, AOSTH, and SatAM versions of Sonic gush over how they sound alike.
  • Alliance of Alternates: As stated before, literally everyone is teaming up with alternate versions of themselves and then some.
  • Already Met Everyone: Characters who have met before in other crossovers remember each other. However, not every version is aware of each - so when Mario and Luigi run into Prime!Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles, they're confused by the three not recognizing them.
  • Anti-Hero: Outside of the pre-existing Sega characters, there's Morph in the Side Stories.
  • Artificial Mobian: Shadow the Hedgehog (Sega and Prime versions) and Side Story's Morph.
  • Commonality Connection: Chris Throndyke and Tom Wachowski bond over having been in similar situations regarding their own Sonics.
  • Composite Character: Starline comes to the conclusion that the Eggman of his dimension and the Eggman of the Sega dimension are one and the same.
    • In Guest Stories, Bomberman is a hybrid between the various iterations of White Bomberman in the franchise, for instance he wears his red scarf from Bomberman Generation, but having a mentions his trouble dealing with his siblings from Super Bomberman R.
    • Likewise, by Word of God, Link and Zelda may seem similar to their The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time selves, but are actually composites with elements of several Links and Zeldas.
    • Despite sharing the name and appearance of his character from the DS version of Final Fantasy III, Luneth also displays his memories and traits of the Onion Knight from the Dissidia Games.
  • Cool Old Guy: Alexander D. Rat, at least according to him.
  • Cool Versus Awesome: Fleetway!Super Sonic vs Mephiles the Dark.
  • Enemy Mine: At one point, the Freedom Fighters are forced to align with the Eggmen to combat the Robotniks.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • None of Eggman Prime's peers are too happy that he tried to do the Super Genesis wave all over again.
    • When the Eggman Alliance comes across the OVA version's shrine of Sara, they are understandably grossed out.
  • Evil Is Hammy: The AOSTH and Movie versions of Robotnik are this, just like in their source materials. Boom!Eggman is partnered up with them at one point and is chagrined by their antics.
  • Evil vs. Evil: The Sega and X versions of Eggman encourage the Boom and Classic versions to ditch the Robotnik counterparts (and Eggman Prime)and join their cabal.
    • Before that, there two factions, one headed by Mammoth Mogul, the other by two versions of Eggman Nega.
    • Then there's another faction made up of henchmen who have become The Starscream.
  • Fanboy: Kaio "K.O." Kincaid towards Sonic, naturally.
  • Gentle Giant: Iggy the Iguana from side stories, who says very little.
  • Gun Nut: Axel's father Alexander in Side stories - this despite the Kingdom of Acorn refusing to use guns even during the Great War.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Axel D. Rat from Side Stories to Mina Mongoose.
  • Horrifying the Horror: Fleetway!Perfect Chaos wets himself (pun entirely intended) upon seeing Fleetway!Super Sonic.
  • Incoming Ham: Movie!Robotnik when he enters the lair of the Eggman-Robotnik Alliance.
  • Informed Species: The Prime and Fleetway versions of Fang the Sniper are captured by Movie!Robotnik who claims that they're jerboas. The two argue that they're weasels.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Count Myotis from Side Stories. Absolutely nobody likes him because of this.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: As a Script for a Fighting Game, this happens a LOT, in all three stories.
  • Merged Reality: Happens to the various Sonic universes, with locations smushed together. This gets especially awkward when different people run the same establishment, seen with Mammoth Mogul, Breezie, and Max Gamble, who all stake claim in Casino Night Zone.
  • The Mole: Movie!Robotnik has infiltrated G.U.N and S.O.N.I.C.X, but only as a part of his alliance with his alternate selves.
  • Mythology Gag:
  • Oh, Crap!: Movie!Sonic has one upon crossing paths with his version of Robotnik.
  • Rich Bastard: Count Myotis. He hits all the hallmarks.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Cosmic and Stella Hedgehog from Side Stories.
  • Stock Shōnen Hero: Axel D. Rat in spades.
  • Sympathy for the Hero: Boom!Eggman admits that he feels for his Sonic whenever the people he saves act like Ungrateful Townsfolk.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Antoine Prime gives one to his SatAM counterpart that's half this, half You Are Better Than You Think You Are.
    • Robotnik Prime gives one to his AOSTH counterpart, decrying him for having no backbone to stand up to his mother.
    • The Prime and Sega versions of Shadow give one to their Boom counterpart.
  • Trrrilling Rrrs: AOSTH!Robotnik's dialogue is written this way to match the delivery of Long John Baldry.
  • The Voiceless: The Red Wolf Avatar (Buddy/Gadget), just like he was in Sonic Forces.
    • Likewise, Link and Dillon keep their status as such from their own games.
