Fanfic / Reversal of Fortune (TLH)

Go To

Reversal of Fortune is a The Loud House fanfic by Issa Moshup Ting (formerly fmarcsthespot).

Reversal of Fortune is written as a revenge fic wrought by the events of "No Such Luck". Taking place after said episode, Lincoln is rescued by the Sweetwater family and tells them his ordeal, including events that had taken place prior to No Such Luck. Realizing how dangerous the Louds really are, the Sweetwaters, led by Lindsay, plot to make the Louds pay for what they've done.

However, despite their best intentions, things don't always go according to plan.

The story provides examples of:

    #-H
  • #HashtagForLaughs: In chapter 34, Leni makes fun of Lucy by saying #lucymadeastinky.
  • 0% Approval Rating: The Louds used to be on top but now that everyone knows what they did to Lincoln, no one likes or wants anything to do with them.
  • 20% More Awesome: In chapter 30, Lisa reveals what they have been doing to Lucy over the past couple of days is an experimental type of torture called overclocked nerves which uses technology to enhance your pain perception far beyond what humans can perceive naturally, thousands of times over to the point.
  • Abusive Parents: Lynn Sr. and Rita are absurdly negligent to Lincoln.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: In The Loud House itself, Lincoln was more annoyed than showing general outrage, and it was heavily implied through Mr. Grouse that few if any would have taken the events of No Such Luck seriously. Here Lincoln breaks down in tears, and the Sweetwaters are so horrified by what they hear that they plot revenge.
  • Adaptational Villainy: The Loud family in this story are even more callous than they are in the show itself, with Lynn Jr. crossing over into outright psychopathy.
  • Adults Are Useless: The Loud parents who, like their daughters, chose to put following their own superstitions ahead of their own son's feelings. As of chapter 15, they've made no effort to realize their wrongdoing.
  • Age-Inappropriate Art: Literally everything Rusty does in chapters 37 and 38.
  • Agony Beam: Lisa uses this on Lucy when she tests a giant laser on her in chapter 25.
  • Appearance Angst: Lola is very upset about the way her face and hair look after the stage accident in chapter 23. She only cares about what other people can see because she does not care about the numerous dull scars, bruises, and marks all over her arms, legs, and stomach she already had.
  • April Fools' Plot: This is the plot of chapter 28 where the Louds think it is April Fools' Day and Luan pranks them.
  • Ascended Extra: Much of the minor characters, from recurring figures to one-offs, are given more prominence, particularly the Sweetwater sisters.
  • Asshole Victim: The Loud family is now subject to a long-delayed amount of retribution for the chaos they've caused in town, some of it is directly targeted to each member's cherished hobbies.
  • Bad Cop/Incompetent Cop: The police never arrest the Louds for anything they should be arrested for.
  • Banana Peel: This is how Lori tumbles down the stairs in chapter 28.
  • Bathroom Break-Out: Lincoln does this in chapter 1 to escape his family.
  • Bathroom Control:
    • Lynn Jr. does not let anyone on her sports teams go number 2 before a game because she thinks it is bad luck.
    • In chapter 18, Mrs. Milton does not allow bathroom breaks during a test.
    • In chapter 36, Flip charges Lucy a buck to use the bathroom.
  • Bathroom Search Excuse: Lynn Jr. does this in chapter 10, so she can check on Lincoln while he is having brain surgery.
  • Bathroom Stall of Angst: In chapter 18, a mortified Lori ran into a stall in the nearest girls' bathroom and cried for the rest of the school-day.
  • Beauty Contest: This is the plot of chapter 23 where Lola is competing in a pageant against other girls.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Lincoln signs onto the Sweetwaters' revenge plot wholeheartedly, and desires nothing but revenge.
  • Big "NO!":
    • This happens in chapter 19 when Lynn Sr., Rita, and Lisa tell Lana she can not bring a frog back home with her.
    • This happens in chapter 22 when all the girls at Lincoln and Clyde's lunch table want Liam and Zach to leave.
    • A long version of this happens in chapter 23 when Lola is told she is officially banned from all pageant circuits in Royal Woods, Oakland County, and the State of Michigan.
    • A long version of this happens in chapter 28 when Lucy sees she was photoshopped out of every single picture in the photo album.
    • This happens in chapter 29 when Lindsay tells Lincoln she is not like pink.
    • This happens in chapter 38 when Principal Huggins does not want to hear what Nurse Patti has to say.
    • This happens in chapter 38 when Lincoln does not want to hear what Linda has to say.
  • Big Sister Bully: The older (and younger) Loud sisters in general, but Lynn Jr. is such an extreme example that it borders on black comedy.
  • Big "WHAT?!":
    • This happens a few times in chapters 21 and 36 after some revelations.
    • This happens in chapter 25 after Lucy calls her sisters freaks.
    • A variant of this happens in chapter 26 after the audience sees a clip of Rita telling Lincoln his furniture was sold.
    • This happens in chapter 28 after Lisa tells her sisters it isn't even April Fools' Day.
    • A variant of this happens in chapter 35 after Lynn Sr. tells Rita he lost the deal with Carl.
    • This happens in chapter 40 after Lindsay tells everyone her family is thinking of adopting Lucy.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: When the Louds are thinking of ways to get food without money in chapter 37, Lana suggests they eat the bugs and worms from outside. Everyone else is disgusted and Lola says she would rather go hungry than eat that garbage but Lisa reveals considering their financial situation, they may have to do just that.
  • Blackmail: In chapter 36, Principal Huggins blackmails Marcus Quick into doing what he wants because he knows what he did when he went to the Loud house.
  • Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce: The super-spicy sauce Luan used in chapter 28 caused Lana, Lisa, and Mr. Grouse searing pain when they got soaked in it.
  • Bottle Episode: Chapter 34 only focuses on part of the Loud family in their house. Ironically this chapter took way longer to come out than almost all the other chapters.
  • Burping Contest: Lincoln unintentionally starts one in chapter 2 with most of the Sweetwaters after everyone eats their pizza. Lindsay does not participate in it and leaves the room because she is disgusted.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: Lori is much meaner and more aggressive, and she only has B-cup breasts while Leni is much nicer and more innocent, and she has full C-cup breasts.
  • Butt-Monkey: Lori is literally this in this story after Carol's prank on her in chapter 18.
  • Calling Your Bathroom Breaks: Lori does this a few times while she is affected by the colon storm.
  • The Cameo:
    • A certain "major" contributor to this story makes multiple appearances in this story as Mr. Majors.
    • Bro Yves makes a one time appearance in chapter 22 as Yves.
    • DJ Sprouts makes a one time appearance in chapter 31 as Darby.
  • Characterization Marches On: After being out of town after the events of "Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru" (and absent for the events of "No Such Luck"), Clyde made a grand return as a stylish, confident, Patois-speaking big-shot (even his signature glasses are replaced with contact lenses), making him the object of affection of most of the girls and the envy of most of the boys at school. This change in demeanor was explained in a chapter dedicated to his time away in Toronto where he and his dads lived with his influential relatives. Of course, he's still Lincoln's best friend throughout this tale.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Chapter 27 is the last time Bobby is seen or even mentioned.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Lisa does this to several people with her experiments.
  • Content Warnings: The first 12 chapters are rated T at worst but chapter 13 starts with a strong warning because this is where the rating goes up to M.
  • Contrived Coincidence: In chapter 18, Lori eats a laxative laced sandwich Carol gave her during lunch at school. Coincidentally it kicks in during her next class while she is taking a test that does not allow bathroom breaks.
  • Counterfeit Cash: In chapter 36, Flip gave Lucy $3.50 for her Edwin bust. While the coins were legitimate, the dollar bills had Flip's face printed on top of them instead of the faces of the corresponding U.S. presidents.
  • Covered with Scars: Chapter 1 reveals Lincoln's body is covered in scars and other things and chapter 24 reveals the same for Lola.
  • Crocodile Tears: In chapter 23, Lindsay cries crocodile tears to get Lola in trouble at the pageant.
  • Cringe Comedy:
    • Rusty's school performance in chapter 15 is absolutely horrible.
    • Rusty's school performance in chapter 38 is even worse and the Royal Woods Elementary School staff are part of it.
    • Lynn Jr.'s dances during her football game in chapter 42 are pretty bad.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death:
    • Cruel deaths happen in chapter 13 where Marcus Quick and his associates made the Loud pets suffer greatly before they killed them. Later Lord Tetherby was shot in the head three times by one of Marcus' associates after he told them to turn the racket down.
    • An unusual death happens in chapter 24 where Scoots suffocated due to a lack of oxygen in the hospital room which was caused by Lori's incessant farting.
    • Cruel and unusual deaths happen in chapter 28 where all four members of the Crowley family are burned to death. The cruel part is they all burned to death because their house was lit on fire and the unusual part is the fire started with a flaming bag of poop.
  • Crystal Ball: Lucy owns one and sometimes it shows her visions of the future.
  • Cute and Psycho: Lola to an extreme, even before the stage accident in chapter 23 makes her look way less cute.
  • Darker and Edgier: Word of God states the intention of Reversal of Fortune is a darker and edgier take on Gal Pals.
  • Deadly Prank: Chapter 28 is filled with Luan pulling painful and humiliating pranks on her family and her sisters getting worse payback on her. One prank Luan pulled went way to far by lighting a bag of poop on fire on the front porch of the Crowley house after lightly dousing the house with gasoline while the Crowleys were still in it.
  • Despite the Plan: In chapter 23, despite the original revenge plan on Lola failing before it even starts, Giggles seeing a rat on the floor gives Lindsay and her friends the results they want.
  • Downer Ending: The ending of this story Issa Moshup Ting spoiled.
  • Dude, She's Like in a Coma: A gender-swapped version happens where Lori repeatedly does this to Bobby in chapters 24, 26, and 27.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: A few people in this story have been given at least one of these.

  • Evil Chef: Lynn Sr., especially in chapter 35.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: Whenever Lincoln and his team spy on the Louds, they always see and hear at least something important and/or useful.
  • Exact Words: In chapter 34, Lynn Jr. tells Lori an idea for her to no longer be called Lori BrownPants but after doing it she is still called it and her sisters still remind her about it and call her other things like when Lisa threatens to grow food composed partly of colon storm in chapter 37 and when Luna calls her Queen of Poo in chapter 42.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Lana will happily eat discarded food from either the trash or the ground, as well as live bugs and worms even though she never actually does so.
  • Fake-Hair Drama: Lola starts wearing a big, tacky Southern Belle blonde wig with tons of curls in chapter 31 because of previous damage done to her hair.
  • Fartillery: Lori's incessant farting killed Scoots in chapter 24.
  • Feel No Pain: Even though Lori has a huge laxative overdose in chapter 18, she never feels any internal pain.
  • Feigning Healthiness: Even though Lori is not doing well after Carol's prank on her in chapter 18, she never stays home from school, takes any kind of medicine, has a doctor examine her, or does anything to try to get better.
  • Firing Day: In chapter 35, Lynn Sr. and Rita get fired from both their jobs because their bosses found out everything they and their daughters did.
  • Flanderization: Lori's action that caused her to become Lori BrownPants becomes her defining characteristic.
  • Flipping the Bird:
    • In chapter 5, Lincoln flashed Rusty, Liam, and Zach a split-second middle finger and made sure his gesture was subtle enough so no one else but those three caught it.
    • In chapter 7, Becky gave Lori a middle finger that could only be seen if someone looked underneath her desk.
    • In chapter 42, Lynn Jr. flashed the middle finger to the fans at her football game because they were mocking her.
  • Foot Popping: In chapter 38, the photoshopped picture of Lynn Jr. and Rusty kissing shows the former popping her right foot up.
  • Force Feeding: In chapter 28, while most of Luan's sisters are holding her down and Leni is holding her mouth open, Lana force feeds her colon storm-tainted cookies.
  • Foreshadowing: Lucy's class sings Lucy Brownpants to her in chapter 32 and that is what she becomes in chapter 34.
  • Friendly Ghost: The ghost of Scoots appears in chapter 27 and enters Lori's room through the window to thank her for killing her because she was getting tired of her old body.
  • From Bad to Worse: This story is full of things that do not stop at just bad, like every instance of revenge.
  • Gasoline Dousing: In chapter 28, Luan does this to the Crowley house.
  • Gasshole:
    • In chapter 18, Lori cannot stop farting due to a Laxative Prank.
    • In chapter 24, Lori is excessively flatulent in the hospital and does not even notice it until Maria opens the door and causes Lori to smell it.
  • Genius Ditz: When Lori, Leni, and Luna are watching Lynn Jr.'s football game in chapter 42, Leni is the only one who says everything Lynn Jr. does is her own fault.
  • "Getting My Own Room" Plot: Due to a sister fight protocol in chapter 17, all the Loud sisters except Lynn Jr. and Lily now have their own room. Lynn Jr. and Lily are roommates and Lana and Lisa become roommates in chapter 25.
  • Gonk:
    • Lola becomes this in chapter 23 after a rat chews on the wires holding her up which causes her to bounce all over the stage while damaging herself, mostly her face.
    • Luan becomes this in chapter 29 after her sisters' gympie-gympie prank against her.
  • Growling Gut: This often happens to people throughout the story due to either hunger or a Potty Emergency.
  • Guilt-Induced Nightmare: Lucy's nightmare in chapter 30.
  • Handshake of Doom: Luan does this to Lynn Jr. in chapter 28 by shaking her hand while wearing a magma glove.
  • Hartman Hips: Lori is described as having wide hips and large butt in chapter 13.
  • Hated by All:
    • The Louds are hated by almost everyone who finds out what they did.
    • After Rusty pulls an offensive Jamaican stunt in school in chapter 15, he is hated by everyone in school, including the Right-On-Respect members. When he returns to school in chapter 32, almost everyone in school still hates him.
    • Yves is introduced in chapter 22 and the way he always speaks and acts is why everyone hates him.
  • Heh Heh, You Said "X": In chapter 37, after Lisa told her family homo sapiens can only survive up to 72 hours without water, Lynn snickered because she said homo.
  • Hero on Hiatus: In chapter 9, Dr. Nguyễn gives Lincoln a red pill that will knock him out for the rest of the night, so he can perform brain surgery on him. Lincoln wakes up in chapter 15.
  • History Repeats: Carol gets Lori to eat colon storm-tainted food in chapter 18, and she is unsuccessful in using a toilet. Then Luan's sisters get her to eat colon storm-tainted food in chapter 28, and she is unsuccessful in using a toilet. Then Lori and Lynn Jr. get Lucy to eat colon storm-tainted food in chapter 34, and she is unsuccessful in using a toilet. It always happens the exact same way, there is never any variety in how it happens like when someone eats something on their own or something other than colon storm being the reason it happens, and everyone always effortlessly make it to a bathroom every time once the humiliation is done.
    I-Q
  • I Just Want to Be Beautiful: Lola wants plastic surgery to fix her face because she wants the pageant world to know that she is a million times prettier and more talented than Lindsay will ever be.

  • Informed Flaw:
    • Lynn Jr. has a flaw of not letting any of her teammates go to the bathroom until they win their game but how they actually play during these games is never shown.
    • Lana has a flaw of wanting to eat things like bugs and worms from outside but her actually eating things like them is never shown.
  • Instant Humiliation Just Add Youtube: Some Loud sisters ended up having humiliating moments posted all over the internet.
    • Luan posted a "before" pic of Lola during her peak as a pageant queen, and an "after" pic of Lola after her accident at the Little Miss Angel Pageant on SwiftyPic in chapter 28.
    • Chapter 30 reveals Lori BrownPants became an Internet meme that grew into the biggest current Internet meme.
    • Chapter 35 reveals Luan and Lucy have 'gone viral' for pooping.
    • There is a slideshow of DeviantDraw and Rumblr-quality memes depicting Lynn Jr.'s "romantic relationship" with A Pimp Named Spokealicious on a Jumbotron in chapter 42.
    • There is a montage of Lori's most embarrassing moments played over a Jumbotron, set to the Loud sisters' recording of Lori Brownpants in chapter 42.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: In chapter 20, Rita tells Lori she heard about her accident and school and Lori tries to deny it only for her stomach to rumble and her to rush into the bathroom yet again.
  • Jabba Table Manners: The way Lynn Sr. stuffs his face with the fully-mixed bangers and mash with his mouth full in chapter 35 makes Carl wince in disgust and try to look away.
  • Jar Potty:
    • When Lori realized she would not make it to a stall in time in chapter 18, she looked for anywhere where she could safely go. Fortunately for her, there was a trash can.
    • While Luan is in the hospital in chapter 31, she goes to the bathroom in Old Sloshie.
    • After Lucy was kicked out in chapter 34, she has been going to the bathroom in the Louds' outdoor trash bins.
  • La Résistance: Lincoln and the Sweetwaters formed a secret movement to take down the Loud family. To drive this point home, they're called The Silencers.
  • Laxative Prank:
    • In chapter 18, Connor has an idea to feed Lincoln a box of Zombie Bran cereal after putting laxatives in it. His sister Carol overhears this and stops him but later she does this to Lori by making a sandwich with 10 colon storm pills blended into a sort of "special sauce" as a way of getting revenge on her. She has to use the bathroom several times throughout the story after this and somehow she effortlessly makes it to the bathroom without any kind of trouble every time except the first time. She also surprisingly only has very minor flatulence problems throughout the story after this and only has very major flatulence problems the first time she has to use the bathroom and whenever she is in Bobby's hospital room.
    • In chapter 28, Luan's sisters give her a colon storm-tainted cream pie and cookies as part of payback on her for pranking them. She willingly eats the cream pie but the cookies involve Force Feeding. She has to use the bathroom a few times throughout the story after this.
    • In chapter 34, Lynn Jr. pours leftover colon storm liquid from their fake April Fools' Day prank against Luan on Lucy's turkey loaf. She has to use the bathroom a few times throughout the story after this.
  • Left Hanging:
    • Lori and Leni sleep with Marcus Quick in chapter 13 and it has not been mentioned since chapter 14. It is currently unknown if Lori and Leni ended up pregnant although Leni was told about the possibility of that happening.
    • Ronnie Anne reveals Bobby is in a coma because of problems with his surgery to remove the tracking chip from his jaw in chapter 20. She also reveals the doctors are going to take him off life support if things do not get better by the next day. It has been several days and it is currently unknown if he is ok.
  • Little Miss Con Artist: Lucy stole all the money from all her sisters except Lana and Lisa in chapter 34.
  • Logic Bomb: Todd had one in chapter 36 when he was told the diaper box was both bad and good luck.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • This is the reaction made by those who bought Lincoln's belongings from the Louds upon learning about his abuse. Even if the purchases were made under false pretenses orchestrated by the Louds, the buyers (the Sweetwaters included) work to make it up to Lincoln by bringing the items to him and giving heartfelt apologies.
    • Ronnie Anne comes to this upon realizing that her bullying has made Lincoln's life even more unbearable on top of his dismal home life.
    • Many of Lincoln's classmates come to the same realization as Ronnie Anne, and also give him gifts and heartfelt apologies during his brain surgery-induced coma.
  • Never My Fault: Lynn Jr. always blames everyone but herself for everything bad that happened during her football game in chapter 42 even though she is always the only one to blame.
  • No Dead Body Poops: This happens whenever someone dies in this story.
  • No Delays for the Wicked: Lori does not make it to the bathroom the first time after Carol's prank on her in chapter 18, but she effortlessly makes it every time after that. She never has to go when there is no bathroom nearby, nothing and no one ever stop or even try to stop her from going, she is never in a situation where she can not get to a bathroom right away or at all, and she never has to wait for someone else to finish using the bathroom or wait on a bathroom line, not even in her own house when there was only one bathroom.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown:
    • A video reveals Rusty got one by other kids in chapter 15 after his performance in school.
    • Rusty gets another one in chapter 38 by even more kids for another performance in school.
  • Nobody Poops: Averted whenever it happens because of humiliation.
    • When Rusty poops in his underwear during his performance in school in chapter 15.
    • When Lori has diarrhea in a trash can in front of many people in her high school in chapter 18.
    • When Luan goes to the bathroom in a toilet with plastic wrap in chapter 28.
    • When Lucy is in the backyard and her family except Lincoln are watching her in chapter 34.
  • One-Hit Kill: A non-lethal variant of this happens in chapter 5 where Paige knocks Ronnie Anne out cold by landing a clean, hard right-handed cross punch on her left cheek.
  • Only One Who Likes Spam: Lana is the only one who likes to eat things that disgust everyone else.
  • Out of Character: Many characters act and do things much differently from the show.
    • Luna is much crueler, even right in front of Sam.
    • Lincoln is much more vengeful after the tracking chip is removed from his amygdala.
    • Lucy is much more emotional in private and public.
    • Lana is much cleaner and never eats anything gross.
    • Clyde is like a completely different person.
    • Rusty is much more inappropriate, especially to girls.
  • Pain to the Ass: This is taken to an extreme in chapter 28 when Luan uses toilet paper made out of a gympie-gympie plant.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil:
    • The Silencers will resort to morally questionable (even illegal) methods to get back at the Loud family.
    • Every act of revenge done to the Louds has them attacked with at least something specific about them and/or ruins at least something specific about them.
      • Lana: Her pets suffered greatly before they were killed in chapter 13.
      • Lori: Her social status is ruined in chapter 18.

  • Perfect Poison: Chapter 17 reveals Lisa uses polonium to poison people and it is lethal at 1 microgram.
  • Pie in the Face: Lynn Jr. threw a cream pie at Luan's face, causing it to splatter all over her face and clothes. In response, Luan licked the pie off her face while smirking. Unknown to Luan, the cream pie was laced with liquid-blended colon storm.
  • Pimp Duds: Rusty dresses like a pimp in chapter 37.
  • Plot Armor: Even though bad things happen to the Louds, this still applies.
    • Lori has a huge laxative overdose in chapter 18 but unless she has a Potty Emergency, nothing bad ever happens to her. She is never in any kind of pain or distress, an open bathroom is always literally right there whenever she needs it, and unless it affects the story like when she is in Bobby's hospital room, she has less flatulence than she does in the show.
    • Lola has a stage accident in chapter 23, but she gets back on her feet very quickly. She almost immediately leaves the hospital after having surgery, she stops using her crutches very quickly, and even though her face and hair are still messed up and her face gets even more messed up in chapter 28, she is never in any kind of pain.
    • All the effects and/or pain from almost all the pranks done to the Louds in chapter 28 end almost instantly. The only prank that sticks around is the gympie-gympie prank done to Luan but even that is not lasting long, she is already in way less pain than she should be and the gympie-gympie plant is known to cause pain that would make you want to kill yourself and it can last for years.
  • Potty Emergency: Lori has several and Luan and Lucy both have a few after they ate food laced with liquid-blended colon storm. Oddly this happens to Lori the most and it only ever happens when it is convenient for her and she can immediately get to an unoccupied bathroom.
  • Potty Failure: In chapter 15, Rusty soils his underwear in front of everyone in school while singing and dancing on stage.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!:

  • Pungeon Master: Luan makes a pun at every opportunity, even when nothing is alright and/or she is not happy.
  • Punished with Ugly: This happens to Lola in chapter 23.
  • The Punishment Is the Crime: In chapter 30, the Loud sisters tell Officer Schoffner Luan burned down the Crowley house, but she will not be arrested. Officer Schoffner believes that Luan got what she deserved and being stung by a gympie-gympie plant the way she has is more painful than any sentence a judge might hand down.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Lindsay does this to get Lincoln to join her tea party in chapter 2.
    R-Z
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Luna gives Lucy a harsh one in chapter 25 when she tells her the difference between her and Lincoln.
Luna glared at Lynn Jr., "That's not my point!", before turning to Lucy and explaining, "The difference between you and Lincoln is that Lincoln makes us laugh. You… you actually scare us."

Lucy said, "I know," to which Luna replied, "It starts with how you get around this house, dude! You can't be sneaking around the house jump scaring people!"

Lucy explained, "I do that because no one notices me."

Lynn Jr. yelled in response, "Because no one wants to notice you, spooky!"

Lucy gasped before snarling, "You take that back."

Luna then explained, "She's right, dude. You are into creepy stuff like death, funerals, and burying things alive! Don't think I don't remember that time you tried to bury our pets alive! Oh yeah, and what about that time you worked with Luan on April Fools' Day to bury us alive?!"

Lucy smirked, remembering, "Oh yeah. That. It was wicked."

Luna continued, "That's my point, sis! NO ONE IN THIS HOUSE, NAY, THIS WORLD, IS EXCITED BY DEATH BUT YOU! And THAT'S why everybody ignores you! THAT'S why you can't make real friends! No one would want to be around you if they're afraid of being killed by you just for your own thrills!"

Lucy quickly defended, "What about my Morticians Club?"

Luna yelled, "Those creeps don't count! How long until they bury you, huh? To satisfy their own sick kicks? How long? I bet they're just waiting to do that!"

Sam scolded, "Luna…", but Luna interrupted her, "No, Sam. She's needed to hear this for years. Vampires of Melancholia? That's the lamest love story I've ever seen in my life! You cuddle with a bust of your favorite character from said show! You said you wanted to go to the beach… to see someone get attacked by sharks! I've lost count how many times you've bitten us with those fake vampire teeth! And that's not even counting all the times you try to talk to ghosts, dude!" Luna then growled at Lucy, "You know what, spooky… Lynn Jr. might be right. I think you put a demonic curse on Marcus Quick to have him rob our house and kill our pets."

The rest of the room gasped while Lucy growled, "You. Take. That. Back."

Luna said, "No. If it weren't for you, our pets would still be alive! Including Fangs!"

Lucy scoffed, "Rich coming from the girl who idolizes a man who bit a bat's head off!"

Luna gasped before sighing, "Just… just go, Lucy."
  • "Rediscovering Roots" Trip: Clyde's visit to Toronto. To an extent, anyway.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Certain unrelated characters are made relatives in this story. The most prominent example has Paige (Lincoln's crush from "L is for Love") and Becky (Lori & Leni's friend) be the older sisters of Lindsay Sweetwater.
    • As an homage to What is a Person Worth?, Connor (the bratty kid from "Cereal Offender"), Cassandra (Maggie's short, blonde-haired emo friend with the black beanie from "Funny Business"), and Carol Pingrey (Lori's rival) are made siblings, with Leslie (the bratty kid's canon mom from "Cereal Offender" and one of the parents present in "Funny Business") being their mother.
    • Dana (one of Lori and Leni's friends), Skippy (Lana's crush in "L is for Love"), and Melissa (Lori's brown-haired friend from "Friendzy") are also made siblings, with Fritz (the hotel employee who had his nametag stolen by Leni in "Suite and Sour") being their father.
    • Whitney (one of Lori's friends), and Winston (Lola's crush in "L is for Love") are also made brother and sister.

    • In chapter 35, Sergei tells Lynn Sr. 3 of his daughters (Lori, Lucy, and Luan) have 'gone viral' for pooping. 2 of whom did so due to prank set up by oldest daughter but Lisa was the one who set up Luan's prank.
  • Revenge: This whole story is a revenge fic.

The underlying theme in Gal Pals is about Forgiveness, whereas Reversal of Fortune is about Revenge.
