  • The Alcoholic: In his first appearance in "A Day in the Country", he's so pissed he can barely walk straight.
  • The Jeeves: Is to Sir Ralph as Stokes is to Lord Meldrum (although a little less competent than Stokes).
  • Large Ham: Whilst absolutely sloshed in "A Day in the Country":
Selfridge: THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY! CLEAR OFF! (Sweeps his arm dramatically).
  • Last-Name Basis: He is only called by his last name due to only being the Shawcross' lowly butler.
  • No Full Name Given: Only referred to by his last name during his time on the show.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Despite being one of the series' most insignificant characters, he's the one who causes Sir Ralph to finally realise that Lady Agatha's been having an affair with Lord Meldrum in "The Truth Revealed".
