Brenda Rose Cowling, (23 April 1925 — 2 October 2010), was a British actress best known for playing Mrs. Lipton in You Rang, M'Lord?.
Her acting career began at RADA, where she was in the same class as actors such as Jimmy Perry and Warren Mitchell. During her time there, she made her first film appearance in Stage Fright (1950).
After lots of work in repertory theatre, she moved onto films and TV. She appeared in small roles in many David Croft (a frequent co-writer of RADA classmate Jimmy Perry) sitcoms such as Dad's Army, Are You Being Served?, It Ain't Half Hot, Mum and Hi-de-Hi!. Her final appearance in a David Croft sitcom was as one of the stars of You Rang, M'Lord?, as Mrs. Lipton.
She died of a stroke at the age of 85.
