Boschazens

After Chloe disintegrates Boscha near the end of Act 1, Boscha's soul was split into four different beings. Zenith Fantasy, the Red Lotus Trio and Chris and Phos must heal three of them — her Nobody, Innocence and Heartless — but must kill the fourth one, the True Apex, if Boscha will have any chance of healing and getting her number dropped.

Unmarked spoilers for Act 1!

    In General
  • Ambiguously Evil: On the one hand, the Passenger they come from was a complete lunatic who devolved into an Omnicidal Maniac more than ready to wipe out the Train. On the other hand, each of them represent a different piece of Boscha's personality, with at least three of them (the Nobody, the Innocence, and Lionheart) representing things that can't be declared outright evil. The only one who could be considered evil is The True Apex, and even then, she represents Boscha's Blue-and-Orange Morality.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Whether they're identified as Passengers or Denizens is unclear. On the one hand, they're explicitly identified as a subtype of Denizen, the Soul Denizen, and they're created by the Train as most Denizens are. On the other hand, they all have numbers on their palms, Boa at least retains some of Boscha's memories, and when Luz tries to contact Boscha from the Boiling Isles, not only does she contact Boa, but she can hear her clearly talk about the Train despite the fact it's not supposed to be possible.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: They each represent a different part of Boscha's mind: the Nobody is her base person without any trauma or lingering issues, The Innocence is... well, her innocence before it got twisted, Lionheart is her desire for survival above all else, and The True Apex is Boscha's belief that she must be above everything else, lest she dies.
  • Arc Villain: They're the main antagonists of Act 2's Infinity Train segments, though whether they're actually evil is up in the air. Eventually, the only one that can be considered evil is The True Apex, as the other three Boschazens are fairly neutral characters.
  • Dwindling Party: They're supposed to be merged with Boscha once the numbers have gone down, so this is inevitable. The Innocence is killed before that comes to pass, while Boa willingly merges with Boscha after the Origin Story Car, and Lionheart follows soon after. The only one who doesn't merge with Boscha is The True Apex, who's supposed to be destroyed.
  • Four Is Death: There are exactly four of them, and not only were they created when Boscha "died", but the last one, The True Apex, is stated to be the only one that has to be killed, no matter the cost.
  • Let X Be the Unknown: The humanoid Boschazens (at least the Nobody and the Innocence) have an "X" where Boscha's Third Eye would be.
  • Literal Split Personality: Each of them represent a different part of Boscha's personality.
  • Made of Iron: They're all just as tough to hurt as Boscha, which is Justified when you consider the consequences of one of them besides The True Apex being killed.
  • No Body Left Behind: Whether by being assimilated or killed, the Boschazens don't leave a body behind, or anything for that matter.
  • Our Souls Are Different: They're the soul of Boscha split into four entities known as Soul Denizens who are some odd intermediary between Passenger and Denizen, and whose entire purpose is to get Boscha's number to lower.
  • Power Tattoo: What sets them apart from normal Denizens is the fact they got numbers, which are Boscha's overall number split in four.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: They don't have that much prominence beyond Act 2, but their existence proves crucial not only to complete Boscha's Train trip, but lead into the final battle with Hazel.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's impossible to talk about them without spoiling the fact that Boscha kicks the bucket at the end of Act 1, and has her soul split into pieces in order to try help her evolve beyond being static.

    Boscha's Nobody / Casxboh/Boa
The Nobody of Boscha, who represents her base form without any of the other pieces, and is the first Boschazen encountered.
  • Action Girl: She faces off against Chloe and the rest of the Red Lotus Trio during "The Boiling Underworld Car".
  • Amnesiac Dissonance: She remembers Boscha's past crimes quite vividly, and is rather ashamed of them.
  • Apology Gift: She gives Lucy an Electronic Eye as an apology for Boscha's attack on her back during the Mana Academy incident.
  • Badass Normal: She doesn't have the Third Eye Boscha had, meaning she has no access to her pyrokinetic abilities, leaving her only with her natural strength and endurance, and by extension the Keyblade and some necromancy. Needless to say, this is more than enough.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: She has Necromancy as part of her powers, but she's the second most morally sound Boschazen after The Innocence.
  • Bearer of Bad News: She eventually has to tell Luz the truth about Boscha's trip to the Train, including how she died and had her soul split in an attempt to help her grow into a better person.
  • Beware the Honest Ones: Not only is Boa as honest as they come, but she doesn't sugarcoat things whatsoever: not only does she reveal that the Boiling Underworld Car is the only place the groups will get to obtain their Keyblades, but tells Chloe point blank that her attempts to get her bullies to leave her alone are pointless, since they'll only find another way to hurt her even if she does as they demand.
  • Black Cloak: Wears the same type as the Master of Masters, being a Nobody and all.
  • Brutal Honesty: She's as honest as they come: not only does she make it clear how unfair the Boiling Underworld Car really is, but she straight up tells the groups that this is their only chance to gain Keyblades, meaning if Zenith Fantasy focuses on saving Hazel Hughes from Hazel instead, they may never get a second chance to get them. In her fight against Chloe, she tells the girl that pushing away others when they really want to help her is not going to make her static number drop any time soon and that she needs to rely on the strength of her friends if she wants to leave the train.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: She calls out Amirani, and Prometheus to an extent, on their horrible treatment of Boscha.
  • Combination Attack: Performs a Kame Hame Hadoken alongside the Red Lotus Trio in order to incinerate Ars Goetia.
  • The Chooser of the One: Downplayed. While she does tell the groups what they need to do in order to earn their Keyblades, it's implied she doesn't have complete control over it. Which becomes more pronounced when she shows everyone how to summon a Keyblade and Zenith Fantasy, who she told wouldn't be able to summon if they didn't go through the trial, summon some anyway.
  • Draconic Humanoid: Once her Salamander traits begin to resurface, though we only get to see the arms.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She wears the same black cloak as Organization XIII and the Master of Masters but she's a Jerk with a Heart of Gold at worst.
  • Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment: Despite being allegedly not Boscha, Chris and Phos give her the same treatment they did back when Boscha was alive, just about everybody afterwards treats her as Boscha in anything but name.
  • Fusion Dance: Merged with Boscha by the end of the Origin Story Car, bringing the latter back to life.
  • Good Is Not Nice: She snaps at Atticus and lets him know that the Boiling Underworld Car isn't a fair place, but she's only trying to work with whatever parameters she has as a Denizen.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: Outright tells Chloe point blank that no matter what she does, her bullies will never stop bullying her, and will just find new ways to bully her even if she does what they say and that she needs to put her faith in people who truly want what's best for her.
  • I Hate Past Me: She doesn't have a good opinion of Boscha's pre-Heart System attitude.
  • In-Series Nickname: She calls herself "Boa" for short.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Her calling Chloe by her full name wasn't an insult; she was trying to be more sociable by using Chloe's "real name", which is public knowledge due to the True Name Car.
  • Irony: The Boschazen who gives herself a nickname accidentally causes Chloe's anger to flare when she brings up her real name.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: She doesn't mince words whatsoever when dealing with Chloe, but she makes too valid points: that the bullies she deals with only want to hurt her, and that she can't even begin to help herself if she doesn't let people help her.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's rather stern and abrasive, but she's strictly on the side of good.
  • Kame Hame Hadoken: She replicates the kamehameha to engage in a Beam-O-War with the Red Lotus Trio, only losing when Phos distracts her. She later ends up repeating the technique, this time with the Red Lotus Trio, in order to destroy Ars Goetia once and for all.
  • Made of Iron: She was made from Boscha, after all. She takes the Kame Hame Hadoken of the Red Lotus Trio in a collective Super Mode, and she's no worse for wear when she walks out of the Boiling Underworld Car.
  • Must Make Amends: In the Campfire Car, she tries to do this by giving Lucy a replacement eye and apologizing for calling Chloe by her name. In fact, her number drops a little (as in .5) from this act.
  • Necromancer: She brings back Lapis Lazuli from the dead so Phos can fight them and prove worthy of a Keyblade.
  • The Nicknamer: She gives herself the nickname of Boa to work around her proper name.
  • No Name Given: Notably the only Boschazen who doesn't have her name revealed initially, waiting until the Boiling Underworld Car to be named.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: While she has a proper name, it's so difficult to properly pronounce that she coins "Boa" as a nickname to work around this, and once she does, people only ever call her that.
  • Past-Life Memories: Technically it's previous life memories, but out of the Boschazens, she seems to be the one who got most, if not all, of Boscha's memories.
  • The Power of Love: Her shock, horror, and grief over Mattholomule's death causes her to not only unlock Boscha's Salamander traits, but also perform a joint Kame Hame Hadoken with the Red Lotus Trio to destroy Ars Goetia.
  • The Promise: She promises Skara that once Boscha returns to the Boiling Isles, she'll take full responsibility for what she did.
  • Saying Too Much: After Chloe sees Boscha's memories and his shaken by them, she leaves. But when Boa brings up something about Peacock, Chloe turns around and demands to know what Peacock just told her.
  • Scare 'Em Straight: How she finally gets the static off Chloe's number: she aims her Keyblade at her and threatens to attack her with it if she doesn't admit her fault.
    • This is also what she did to Zenith Fantasy
  • Tears of Remorse: Sheds these while talking with Skara through Chris, while promising that once she, or Boscha, returns to the Boiling Isles, she'll take full responsibility for her actions.

    The Innocence
A Denizen that represents Boscha's innocent self before she was twisted into the monster she became. According to the Master of Masters, she's currently in the Cupid Bee Car.
  • Actual Pacifist: She never throws a punch or attacks anybody, and as the embodiment of Boscha's good, she probably has the same "I don't wanna kill" mentality she had before Amirani changed that.
  • The Cutie: A child-like embodiment of Boscha's former innocence, with the attitude to match.
  • Children Are Innocent: Kinda her entire theme, being the embodiment of Boscha's Innocence and all.
  • Clothing Damage: Mettaton and Louise attack her with all they got, but she's mostly left unharmed and with a tattered dress, which she notices more than the bruises.
  • Damsel in Distress: She's in constant danger during the Cupid Bee Car, either from Louise and Bort who want to kill her for the "crime" of existing, or The Trauma, who assaults her with a chair every time she's left alone.
  • Death of a Child: Kind of; she's the most child like of the Boschazens, and she's the first to kick the bucket.
  • Fading Away: Once Louise finally kills her, she slowly begins fading into nothing, panicking and crying as she tries to figure out what's going on.
  • Hope Spot: It at first appears that she'll come out of the Cupid Bee Car saga just fine once Lionheart appears, but then Louise summons a Keyblade and stabs her with it.
  • Innocence Lost: Symbolically, but still; being the embodiment of the innocence Boscha had before her parents turned her into a monster, so her death would theoretically mean the death of the innocent child Boscha used to be. Three guesses as to what happens to her by the end of the Cupid Bee Car saga.
  • Kill the Cutie: Louise stabs her with the Keyblade at the final part of the Cupid Bee Car.
  • Non-Action Guy: Every other Boschazen fights or throws a punch or something, but The Innocence never fights anybody before kicking the bucket.
  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: Louise and Mettaton attacked her because they thought she was Boscha reborn, when she was just trying to invite them to the Cupid Bee Car. Doesn't stop Louise from using a Keyblade to kill her off though...
  • Purity Personified: She's the literal embodiment of the good within Boscha and her Innocence before Prometheus and Amirani ruined that.
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: She's the embodiment of Boscha's purity, and out of the Boschazens, she's the one with the least, if any, mean bones in her body. So naturally, she's the first one to be killed.
  • Token Good Teammate: Easily the nicest of the Boschazens, being the embodiment of Boscha's childhood innocence and all.

    Lionheart
The Heartless of Boscha, who represents her survival instincts.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: She's massive once she appears at the tail end of the Cupid Bee Car.
  • Animalistic Abomination: A giant lion-like creature made entirely out of black fire.
  • Eating the Enemy: She swallows Louise as soon as the redhead gets on her nerves, and then... Well...
  • Fiery Lion: Whereas Boscha had this trope symbolically, Lionheart has it literally, being a giant black lion made of fire.
  • Kill It with Fire: How she kills Louise: she swallows her, and the fire inside of her melts her away.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: She somehow survived her encounter with Bort despite the fact her complete being got demolished.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: As the Master of Masters finds out, Lionheart only attacks out of fear and a desire for survival. If you Sheath Your Sword to her, she'll calm down.
  • Third Eye: The only Boschazen to have one of these, with the others having an "X" mark instead.
  • Technicolor Fire: She's literally made of pitch black fire.
  • Panthera Awesome: It's a giant flaming lion.
  • Summon Bigger Fish: By the climax of the Cupid Bee Car saga, Boa, Gwen, and Chris decide to bring Lionheart to the Cupid Bee Car in hopes of saving The Innocence. unfortunately, Louise had other plans.
  • Sleep-Mode Size: She's reduced to the size of a cub by the time a revived Boscha comes to the Cursed Princess Club Car to fuse with her.

    The True Apex
The final Boschazen revealed, who represents Boscha's belief that she must always be at the top.
  • As Long as There Is Evil: As long as this particular piece of Boscha remains, then any chances she has to go beyond her static nature are zilch.
  • Ax-Crazy: Remember Act 1 Boscha? The True Apex is pretty much her, minus any sanity or restraint the former had.
  • Blood Knight: She's quite ecstatic over the prospect of a giant final battle at the Mall Car.
  • The Dreaded: She embodies the absolute worst aspects of Boscha, and the idea of them merging again even by accident is so horrible One-One lets Boscha return home as soon as her number reaches zero.
  • Karmic Death: She's killed when Simon and Grace, the former leaders of the Apex, sacrifice themselves to wheel her.
  • Made of Evil: Given that she's the embodiment of what's keeping Boscha as a static character, she's all but stated to be this.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Boa is a morally grey character, while The Innocence and Lionheart are mostly based on Innocence and survival instincts. This leaves The True Apex, who embodies the worst aspects of Boscha, as the only Boschazen that could be called evil.
  • The Unfought: By the time Boscha leaves the Train, she's the only Boschazen to never be encountered by her.
  • Villain Team-Up: Averted. Despite Hazel's plan involving merging their Cars so they can destroy the Train, the duo never actually work together before The True Apex gets wheeled and Hazel is beheaded.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Is more than willing to attack the Apex, most of which consists of children, and even throws a fireball at Hazel when she lightly annoys her.
