The Princelings of Vice

The Princelings of Vice are divine/demi-divine Malrègnarian royalty and children of Vicearch Iniquitous, be it by blood or by adoption. Though they are right under her in terms of age and authority, they're still no less feared and respected. They help their mother watch over her vast empire and its surrounding territories.

    General
  • Affably Evil: Some of the Princelings, whether by their very natures or by their ability to keep their natures under control, can come off as magnanimous, polite, honourable, even sympathetic and cordial, and being completely sincere about it. But make no mistake, they are still divine embodiments of vice and evil incarnate, able and willing to commit terrible acts if it suits their goals and those of Malregnar.
  • Animalistic Abomination: If Excelsius' appearance is to be believed, all seven of the oldest Princelings have eldritch equine forms due to both inheriting aspects of Iniquitous' power and devouring many powerful entities themselves.
  • The Assimilator: All of them, like their mother the Vicearch, are Devourers, having consumed countless beings into themselves to ever increase their power, knowledge and skills, from willing servants, subjects and scions who would enjoy eternal bliss as part of them for their devotion, to enemies, traitors and the wicked who earned their ire and would suffer eternally for their sins within them, their vices and suffering as well as any useful traits fueling their power and enhancing their capabilities further. The catch is that while they absorb much more than their Virtuous Ones counterparts, because many of them are unwilling they generally acquire less power than they would had had all rather than only some of those absorbed did so consensually, allowing the Virtous Ones to maintain parity with them.
  • Big Brother Instinct: It is rumored that following the capture of 'The Foolish/Cowardly Usurper' in Equestria, Iniquitous permitted her eldest Princelings of Vice to punish their captive prisoner as they saw fit, since the usurper's original goal was to royal power and authority by possessing one of their younger siblings.
  • Cheerful Child: Implied with the very youngest Princelings, who simply adore their "Uncle Bluey". One of them eagerly showed off their talent in Necromancy to Blue Suede Heartstrings by bringing back a dead Dragon that once attacked Malrègnar as a skeletal horror... that proceeded to scare Blue Suede by roaring in his face.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Implied; some of the Princelings of Vice are likely demigods, if not full-blooded deities.
  • The Dreaded: The Princelings as a whole are this, and even among them the Seven Princelings of Vice are the feared and respected both within and outside Malregnar on account of being the eldest blood-scions of Vicearch Iniquitous, and in Malregnar are the only ones who come anywhere remotely close to matching the Vicearch in power and skill.
  • Divine Parentage: Iniquitous is the mother of the Princelings, whether by blood (as is the case of the seven eldest Princelings of Vice) or by adoption (in the case of those like Propitious).
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Affably Evil as they are, the Princelings of Vice are capable of sincere romantic and familial love, caring for their partners and siblings/parents.
  • Evil Counterpart: The seven eldest Princelings of Vice this to the seven eldest Virtuous Ones, who embody the Seven Heavenly Virtues and are their respective equals.
  • God of Evil: Subverted. While they're collectively called the 'Princelings of Vice', they follow the philosophies of constructive/pragmatic Evil held by their biological/adoptive mother, Iniquitous. Everything they do is for the benefit of their subjects and empire.
  • Mentor Archetype: Like their mother, the oldest seven Princelings have mentored various individuals on Malrègnarian dark magic, including a few children of the Four Terrors.
  • Parental Abandonment: The mortal father of the seven oldest Princelings left them after discovering his lover, Vicearch Iniqutious, is really an infernal goddess and couldn't handle the truth, although there are hints from the implied conversations between them that Iniquitous had deliberately pushed him away after Her true identity was exposed. It's unknown whether he's still alive or not, but Vicearch Iniquitous never spoke of him again, while the only mementos the oldest Princelings have of him are memories and an amulet that has since been divided into seven pieces and shared among them.
  • Politically-Active Princess: Despite their masculine group title, the female Princelings are just as politically active as their older/younger brothers.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: Implied; some of the Princelings of Vice are Iniquitous' daughters, and they're likely very beautiful. That being said, they're powerful and intelligent full-blooded goddesses/demigoddesses in their own right, and they help their mother run her empire.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: All of the Princelings of Vice, both male and female, are active on both the battlefield and in the local political scene.
  • She Is the King: Some of the Princelings of Vice are actually Iniquitous' daughters, despite them holding a masculine group title.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: The seven eldest Princelings each embody a specific vice, like Pride, Envy, Greed, and Gluttony.
  • Übermensch: All the depicted Princelings thus far follow their mother in overcoming and controlling their own natures as divine incarnations of evil and vice, bending what they embody to their will and directing them towards achieving grander purposes instead of letting their natures drag them down to self-destruction like so many other beings and forces of evil. Many of them like Excelsius also develop their own codes and values which falls in line with their natures and beliefs about the world and sapient nature.
  • Warrior Prince: The male Princelings are divine or demi-divine children of Iniquitous, whether by blood or adoption. This makes them powerful sorcerers and warriors (or both, if they combine the two).
  • Winged Unicorn: If Excelsius is to go by, the seven eldest Princelings are Alicorns like their mother.
  • Willfully Weak: Since even the weakest Princeling is capable of rivalling an entire pantheon in power, many members often hold back a majority of their might either because it's not necessary to use all of them for the task at hoof, or out of fairness for those they are fighting if they are feeling magnanimous. This is often the only reason why those weaker than they are who stand against them had any chance at winning or just surviving any confrontation with them.

The Seven Eldest Princelings

Excelsius Vice Malrègnar, the Prince of Pride

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal/Elemental, Devourer

Portfolio: Pride, Light, Evil, Supremacy, Beauty

Rank: Divine ([???])

"From Pride comes the Evils which consume all things... and We are Pride Incarnate."

Prince Excelsius (his entry here) is the Alicorn god of Pride, Light, Evil, Supremacy, and Beauty, and is the oldest and most powerful of the Princelings of Vice.
  • The Ace: Implied by virtue of his age, domains and absolute approval of himself. Unsurprising considering he's the eldest of the seven oldest Princelings of Vice, meaning at the very least he had been around long enough to earn that status.
    • One of His proudest achievements early in his life/existence is defeating a prideful Child of Erebus who invaded Malrègnar, which demonstrated his credentials. To note: in every depiction thus far, the Children/Fragments of Erebus are depicted as quite powerful menaces by themselves and in groups, and that arrogant Child of Erebus had indeed managed to give the Empire and even some of his siblings (even the weakest is said to at least rival a pantheon in power) enough trouble for an annoyed Vicearch Iniquitous to send Prince Excelsius to personally deal with him. Excelsius proves his worth as The Ace among his siblings first by stalemating the Child of Erebus in open battle by himself; then, he used his domains to weaken the Child of Erebus by bloating the god of darkness' ego to self-destructive levels; then, taking advantage of the Child of Erebus' growing recklessness from overconfidence/narcissistic rage, he analyzed all his weak-points in character, abilities and form and proceeded to push/hit every single one of them, lecturing and breaking his ego with His words even while He used His powers, increased from feeding on His foe's Pride until He gains a decisive edge in power, to give the Child of Erebus a crushing and humiliating defeat.
    • He fairly recently gave no less than five of the Terran Princes a Curbstomp Battle when he intervened (with an avatar) to prevent them from interfering with one of his Viceliege and his allies' plans, though according to him they did remarkably well despite the vast gap in experience and power between them.
  • Affably Evil: He is known to be rather polite, respectful, amiable and honourable even to his lessers, despite like the rest of the Princelings of Vice he is a God of Evil scion of the Vicearch of Malrègnar who by his own proclamation is pride incarnate. Notably, he has the most civil relationship with his Good Counterpart from Vertusia - Modest Bluebell, the Princess of Humility - after they prove themselves to be evenly matched and understand each other the most.
  • Aloof Big Brother: As Iniquitous' firstborn, he is the oldest of the first generation of Princelings, as well as the oldest of his family overall. It's subverted - while he usually carries an imperiously proud and aloof expression, and his relationship with his siblings can get rocky at times (with one historical account detailing how his being The Ace alienated them to the point of resentment), he often displays his softer and warmer side around his family.
  • Animalistic Abomination: Much like his mother, his true form is incredibly eldritch due to devouring various deities, infernal beings, and other sapient lifeforms. In his case, his true form is described as a towering Alicorn whose body is lined with light-reflective materials like crystals and glass, his mane and tail are of rippling golden light that shows off moments in history where pride was used for both good and evil, and his wings are mirrors of hardened, golden light that show viewers a reflection of their own potential magnificence. His presence is constantly surrounded by a soft glow (though he can choose to appear blindingly radiant if he wants to), his Cutie Mark is also glowing, and his head is adorned with a balefully radiant halo of light.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn god who embodies Pride, Light, Evil, Supremacy, and Beauty.
  • Assimilation Backfire: Nearly all whom Excelsius consumed are doomed to languish inside him and feed the eldest Princeling of Vice with their pride and power for eternity... but it is possible, though incredibly difficult, for someone to escape. The only known being to ever managed to invoke this was Prince Blazing Hoof, the eldest Terran Prince, and even then he needed both some help from four of his younger brothers (who were also consumed by Excelsius at the time) and the element of surprise. Modest Bluebell aptly compared the situation to what the Virtuous Seven had done when they were all devoured by Queen Dark Crystal.
  • The Assimilator: Like his mother and most likely his siblings, he has devoured many beings throughout the millennia of his existence and adding their power, knowledge and domains to increase his own. As demonstrated by him consuming the arrogant Child of Erebus he defeated in his younger days, he has a taste for prideful beings.
  • Attention Whore: Subverted. He thinks seeking the adulation and adoration of others as beneath him, and believes only those who has 'egos of clay' craves constant affirmation (and probably does not deserve them). The only being he believes he ever needs to prove himself to is himself - and he already has his own complete approval.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: It is implied as part of his Pride domain he has this as a standard power. Given enough time and exposure, he could determine the true nature of others and pinpoint every weak-point or unique trait regarding their character, abilities and forms. This makes him incredibly dangerous in battle as he allows him to tailor his Breaking Lecture to destroy the pride and will of his opponents and apply his great power in crushing his enemies in the most effective but also humiliating/humbling ways possible.
  • Badass Boast: Excelsius, being pride incarnate, naturally makes these himself. During the infamous confrontation between five of the Terran Princes and an avatar of him, he would introduce himself with one which immediately made Crimson Star blanch with horror at the realization of who they are dealing with.
Prince Palatine Phoenix: What the hells are you, devil?!
Prince Excelsius: We can assure you, Prince Palatine Phoenix, that We are a Pony just like you are. However... We also stand above mortals, devils and gods alike. Fear not Our magnificence, for it is an honour to be in Our presence - and become part of it, if you feel so inclined. We are the Crown Prince of Malrègnar, the Princeling of Pride: Excelsius.
Prince Crimson Star: ... Oh, no.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While Affably Evil and very hard to offend or angered, like His mother even Prince Excelsius has limits, and those who got on His wrong side would quickly be reminded that He is a divine embodiment of Pride and Evil whom they should not had messed with.
    • An Archdemon had attempted to use Excelsius as part of his scheme to destroy another rival during an infernal banquet whom Excelsius was invited to and attended, which ultimately failed. While Excelsius was not directly targetted by it, He was still provoked by the fact that the Archdemon dared to presume he could drag Him or the staunchly-neutral Malregnar into their little misinformed shenanigans like they are mere pawns, and made His displeasure known to him and his confederates after checking to make sure He wouldn't be imposing on the Archdemon's rival and his right of vengeance first.
    • When Excelsius attended a Convocation of Creature session out of curiosity, he was more amused than anything at a kingdom of cultural supremacists for their hubris and hypocrisy as they defended the atrocities they committed from other nations who wanted to sanction them for it. Then the king of that kingdom heaped insults and dishonour at other world leaders and their nations in a narcissistic rage - including Caerulus, who is a family friend of the Malregnarian Royal Family, and Excelsius himself, who just happened to be present - as being inferior to their own. Excelsius responded by obliterating their proud culture in a single spell, leaving them utterly broken in pride and spirit with all that they held up to make them superior rendered non-existent, down to their very memory of it.
  • Breaking Lecture: Excelsius often does this to his opponents through carefully tailored versions of this, after taking stock of all their psychological weak-points through his 'Augur of Arrogance' ability, allowing him to break the egos of their opponents by verbally deconstructing everything they are proud of about themselves, which combined with the physical Curbstomp Battle Excelsius inflicts concurrently is enough to leave most opponents shattered wrecks in both body and mind.
  • Break the Haughty: Induced one on an arrogant mortal king and his kingdom in one Drabble at a Convocation of Creatures session. He had attended it out of curiosity, and was blithely amused at the sheer hubris and hypocrisy of the king and his kingdom when they defended their cultural supremacist beliefs and atrocities from those nations wanting to sanction them for them. Then at a diplomatic reception between breaks the king, in a fit of narcissistic rage arguing with other world leaders, openly insulted and heap dishonour all the other sovereigns/leaders and their nations present for being inferior to their proud culture - including, by their presence and implication, Excelsius and Malregnar. This prompted Excelsius to respond by casting a divine 'Condemnation of Memory' spell/curse to completely obliterate the kingdom's proud culture down to the physical existence and memory of it, leaving the king and his delegates unable to even speak the language of his homeland. This instantly shattered the pride of the king and his subjects, who are left grovelling, sobbing and begging futilely Excelsius for mercy as he left them to their awful fate. The kingdom meanwhile crumbled into chaos and despair as their pride is left completely shattered without their proud culture, to the point it ceased to exist when those the nations they once bullied and tried imposing their culture on counterattacked and carved it up, the kingdom by that point so utterly broken in will and spirit they can't even offer negligible resistance.
  • Big Eater: As stated under The Assimilator, Cannibalism Superpower and Evil Tastes Good, Prince Excelsius had devoured and added many prideful beings into his magnificence. By his own admission, he had feasted on whole pantheons, Hells and empires which had succumbed to Pride, making it likely he had consumed at least several millions of mortals, demons and gods.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: Like his mother Vicearch Iniquitous, Prince Excelsius has consumed countless mortals, infernals and deities, usually the prideful ones, into himself and acquired their power, domains, knowledge and experience to increase/enhance his own, leaving their doomed souls/essence to writhe inside and feed him with their pride forever.
  • Condescending Compassion: Unlike many prideful individuals who hold 'inferiors' in contempt or see them as a means to stroke their own ego, he sees doing such things as beneath him. Instead, he shows pity towards his lessers for not being able to comprehend his true magnificence. The only people he displays genuine respect for is his family and those who manage to match/surpass him in both deed and character.
  • Cruel Mercy: After obliterating the culture of a cultural supremacist nation with a single spell, he left its formerly haughty king and his kingdom alive to 'reflect upon their error', even though he or anyone else is within their right to punish the kingdom even further for the atrocities they committed to impose their values on others. As it stood, further punishment was redundant as the nation self-destructed with their culture lost and their pride utterly broken.
Haughty King: PLEASE! Give it back! Have mercy...!
Prince Excelsius: What mercy have you given to those whom you persecuted to uphold your people's presumptious cultural superiority? But We are a magnanimous prince. Unlike many of your victims, you and your people shall live - live to face the consequences of your vanity. We will leave you now to reflect upon your error.
  • Culture Justifies Anything: Defied hard by Excelsius in one case. Excelsius was blithely amused by a nation trying to justify the atrocities they committed in the name of their cultural supremacy, then make clear how little He thought of it by obliterating its precious culture with a single spell after their haughty king insulted everyone present and their cultures as inferior and have no right judge them, utterly demolishing their pride in the process.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Is capable of inducing this with through many a curse, Breaking Lecture and Curbstomp Battle to shatter the pride of his opponents so thoroughly they are left broken in mind and spirit.
    • Excelsius caused one on an arrogant mortal king and his kingdom of cultural supremacists in one Drabble after they insulted everyone in a Convocation of Creatures session as too inferior to their own great nation to judge them and their atrocities (including him and Malregnar), using a curse to completely obliterate their once proud culture - down to the very memory of it - in an instance. This instantly induced a Break the Haughty moment upon the king and his subjects, who are left grovelling, sobbing and begging for mercy futilely as he left them to their fate, and the kingdom fell apart in chaos and despair soon afterwards with nothing left to be proud of and their pride utterly shattered.
  • Didn't See That Coming: In a drabble, Prince Excelsius was pleasantly and legitimately surprised when, after he in one of his avatars defeated and consumed a quintet of the Terran Princes to prevent them from interfering with one of his Viceliege and his allies' plans, they managed to break Prince Blazing Hoof, the Imperial Sword out of his body through tapping into their domains, cunning sorcery and sheer willpower. He was so surprised in fact Blazing Hoof was able to seize his one opening to inflict a minor wound on Prince Excelsius - fulfilling the condition of a win in their favour the Prince of Pride set out earlier to give them a fair chance against him. This impressed Prince Excelsius enough to honour his word and free the rest of Blazing Hoof's brothers earlier than he intended.
  • Disappeared Dad: Justified. He and the other oldest Princelings were sired through Iniquitous by a mortal father who genuinely loved him. But his father left them behind after discovering, to his horror and heartbreak, that Iniquitous is actually a God of Evil and couldn't handle the truth of his lover's true nature. The only mementos he has of his father are his memories and an amulet his father gave, which has since been divided into seven pieces amongst the seven oldest Princelings.
  • The Dreaded: The Princelings of Vice are already this both inside and outside the Empire on account of being divine/demi-divine blood/adopted scions of Vicearch Iniquitous, and Prince Excelsius is the firstborn prince and The Ace among them.
  • Eaten Alive:
  • Eat Me: Between him being a Hot God, the eldest blood-scion of Her Unhallowed Majesty and the crown-prince of the empire, and indoctrination and inevitability which comes with being a subject of Malrègnar, many of Excelsius' own subjects and servants and those of the wider empire consider it an honour to be devoured and assimilated post- or even pre-mortem into the Princeling of Pride's being as he had generation after generation of his subjects, seeing it as reward for their worth and devotion to become part of a greater being and enjoy eternal bliss which also comes with it.
  • Embodiment of Vice: Prince Excelsius is Pride incarnate. Like his mother and his siblings he could gain power or influence other beings through his vice, siphoning and bloating the Pride of others to his own gain, and his magic is fueled by his own pride or the pride of others.
  • Eternal Recurrence: The concept proposed by Friedrich Nietzsche as a philosophical thought-experiment was lampshaded by Excelcius in the drabble where he is introduced. As a test for whether if a person is a truly worthy individual (i.e. an Übermensch), Nietzsche asks the following: when faced with an unending repetition of one's life, with all its triumphs and tragedies, success and failures, greatness and weakness, could one still gladly live through the experience over and over, with neither bitterness or regret? Prince Excelcius demonstrates his pride and absolute confidence in himself by answering this question with a resounding yes.
Prince Excelcius: Should eternity pass and We find Ourselves here once more, in recurrence, We would ask for nothing less than to be Ourselves – ‘Amor Fati!’, so once proclaimed a noble sage of yore.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Like his mother, Excelsius has little to no patience for hypocrites and prideful beings who let their own pride and arrogance reduce them to petty and self-righteous characters, such as 'The Prideful King'. He reserves the most heinous fates for them inside him or in his own personall Hell-Fiefs.
    • Played for Laughs in one drabble. Mustangue, the Imperious Despot - a Viceliege in fealty of Vicearch Iniquitous and Prince Excelsius - is apparently such a proud, presumptuous and petty character he actually manages to annoy the famously imperturbable and affable Prince of Pride (and Prince Stoltur Skjöldur, who happens to be present for an audience Excelsius has with Mustangue). As it stands, Prince Excelsius (and the rest of the Empire) tolerates him for his genuine talents, but had pretty much wrote him off as doomed by his own ego and intends to consume his delectably prideful soul the moment Mustangue hits the bucket.
Prince Excelsius: What an arrogant and petty despot. Where do they turn up in this day and age?
Prince Stoltur: Hells knows... but if I were not a vegetarian, I'll eat him.
Prince Excelsius: We might just savour his delectably prideful existence Ourselves when he finally outlives his worth.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Played with. He does know what humility is and can understand the nature of it. But due to his nature as an infernal god of Pride, he is confused as to why people like Blue Suede Heartstrings and Princess Modest Bluebell would choose to stay modest instead of affirming their own greatness, even to themselves.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Or rather, 'Evil beings of enormous pride and power are not pieces on a chessboard'. Attempts by others to manipulate him or Malregnar and being dragged as a party of another individual or faction's schemes without consent is one of the very few things which could genuinely offend and enrage him (as it normally would His mother and Malregnar), especially if they are your typical misinformed shenanigans other forces of Evil indulges in. He made it clear to one Archdemon stupid enough to do so after said Archdemon's plan was foiled that what he did was 'truly unwise', and made His displeasure known to him and his confederates without quarter after the fact.
  • Evil Is Petty: Subverted. One issue Excelsius found in many other prideful beings is that beneath their haughty exterior they come off as insecure, petulant, vindictive and even delusional. He sees the pettiness of their character and deeds - constantly seeking affirmation for their egos, hiding their flaws and imperfections, and raging at being denied respect and greatness by the world - as evidence of their unworthiness, and that deep down they know they are pitiful, self-loathing creatures who fall short of their own pinnacles. Excelsius prides himself in having no such petty qualities: He knows exactly how worthy he is and don't indulge in small-minded evil antics to cover for any of his inadequacies.
  • Evil Tastes Good: As mentioned under The Assimilator and Cannibalism Superpower, Excelsius has a taste for the essence/existence of prideful beings, to the point he had devoured the essence/existence of whole pantheons, Hells and empires which had given into Pride, consuming uncounted millions mind, body and soul. Justified in that his definite domain and nature is Pride itself, meaning he naturally incline towards them.
  • Expy: While Prince Excelsius is largely his own character, he borrows traits and elements from many other prideful characters across fiction.
    • His lack of contempt and hatred for those beneath him, as well as his genuine respect for those he considers he his equals and friends/family, is borrowed from Escanor from The Seven Deadly Sins.
    • His tendency to consume and assimilate the powers of other beings into his being is similar to the cannibalistic tendencies of Pride, one of the seven Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist.
    • His nature as the embodiment of Pride, firstborn of a greater divine being, and light-based divine powers makes him a Satanic Archetype harkening to the original Morningstar who once sought to place his throne above the stars of God himself. His Will Not Tell a Lie tendency is based on the suave if sociopathic Lucifer as depicted in The Sandman and its Lucifer spinoff, who sees deceit as beneath him and always tells the truth (even if it always in a way that he gets people to do what he wants or draw conclusions to their own detriment).
  • Friendly Enemy: Seeing each other as a Worthy Opponent and could understand each other the best, both Prince Excelsius and Princess Modest Bluebell notably have the most civil relationship with each other out of their respective families.
  • Graceful Loser: Unlike many prideful characters, he does not hold it against those who somehow actually manages to match or even surpass him, giving them respect for being able to match/surpass his threshold of greatness.
  • God of Evil: He is the firstborn of Vicearch Iniquitous and a divine embodiment of Pride. Sincerely affable character aside, there is no question as to his divine morality. His domain of Evil allows him to influence others through their own inner evil and bring him control of other evil beings like Infernals. This is fueled by his domain of Pride, since pride is both metaphorically and literally the root of all Evil.
  • God of Light: One of his domains is Light, which gives him powerful light magic. It also factors into his appearance, giving him eldritch traits like a mane and tail composed of golden light, a pair of wings that are also mirrors made of hardened light, a body lined with reflective materials like crystals and glass, and a baleful halo made of light.
  • Holy Halo: Inverted. His true form has a radiant yet baleful halo of light adorning his head.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Fairly recently, Prince Excelsius gave one to no less than five of the Terran Princes in an avatar to prevent them from intervening in one of his Viceliege and his allies' operations. Excelsius had in his pride magnanimously held back and lowered the threshold for a win in their favour (first blood on his avatar form) to give them a chance, and complimented that they did remarkably well, but the gulf of experience and power meant they still lost without even so much as scratching him and were all briefly Eaten Alive and imprisoned inside Prince Excelsius for much of the conflict (at least until Prince Blazing Hoof managed to break out). Princess Modest Bluebell outright compared it to the one Queen Dark Crystal gave to her collective grandmothers the Virtuous Seven back in the Second Age, before they resurrected and defeated her as Fairytale.
  • Hot God: One of his domains is Beauty, and Excelsius is widely considered the pinnacle of the Malrègnarian ideal of male physical beauty, whereas his sibling, Princep Lascivious, is widely considered the pinnacle of the Malrègnarian ideal of female physical beauty when in their female aspect. This has hilariously got him into trouble with Queen Eclaira of the Shadowpact Pantheon, since Eclaira is ravenously beautiful and beauty-ravenous, and his own beauty had resulted in her trying eat him as she does other beings to take their beauty during Shadowpact-Malregnarian conflicts.
  • Humans Are Insects: Given his pride, he view those he considers beneath him - mortal, divine or otherwise - with pity in that they are not comparable to his greatness. That being said, he is not completely dismissive of them as he knows they have the potential of giving rise to those whom he would legitimately respect for being his equal, if not becoming even greater than he is - After all, his mother was once a mortal who rose to power and greatness through cunning, ruthlessness and determination. He is also neither hateful nor contemptuous to those who he sees as beneath him as he don't think they're worth such sentiments, and anyone who WOULD be worthy of receiving them would probably have done enough to earn his respect anyway, meaning in essence he doesn't really hold anyone in hatred or contempt.
  • Humble Pie: Though contradictory, various accounts indicate that at some point in his youth, he went through a significant event(s) that forced him to realize even someone as great as him can have flaws and weaknesses. Whatever the event was, it caused him to develop a more grounded view of himself, while saving him from the same pitfalls that destroyed many prideful individuals.
    • One legend suggests during a Malregnarian punitive campaign, a lone mortal warrior somehow managed to best him in some manner despite the near-insurmountable power gap. This could have inspired his tendency to offer magnanimous victory conditions to his opponents.
    • One legend suggests that a 'great fool' - a divine from a pantheon Excelsius had destroyed through their sin of Pride - managed to humiliate him in some way, including resisting Excelsius' influence and laughing in his face. This affected Excelsius so much that the 'great fool' was able to escape with their own surviving worshipers, denying him a complete victory.
    • One legend suggests, harkening to his mother's own experiences, that Excelsius fell in love with a humble mortal mare. But despite all his godly power, skill, and experience, he couldn't save her from suffering a terrible fate.
    • One legend suggests that Excelsius was trusted to fulfill a great task by Iniquitous. Said task proved to be far greater than his own capabilities could allow, and he failed to complete it as a result.
    • One legend suggests that Excelsius stirred deep resentment in his younger siblings by constantly outshining them in all areas and flaunting his achievements, which made his siblings feel inferior compared to him. While they (seemingly) reconciled, the experience of nearly coming to blows with his family due to his prideful attitudes taught Excelsius there are things that matter more than his own pride.
  • I Am What I Am: One notable aspect of his character is that he acknowledges that he is not perfect, that he is fallible and there are those who are arguably greater than he is. He takes pride not in being perfect, but being better than many others at the present, and is supremely confident that he would succeed in becoming more so in the future. He knows exactly how worthy he is, and takes pride in that.
  • I Let You Win: His pride, power, and status as The Ace among the Princelings of Vice made him rather magnanimous in setting easier win conditions for his enemies, to make things fairer for them. Otherwise, unless one is truly an equal or superior in power to him, that is often the only reason those weaker than he is have any fighting chance at all to stop him.
    • During his fairly recent confrontation with five of the Terran Princes, he offered to consider it a 'win' on their side if they could simply 'draw first blood' on the avatar he manifested to stop them from interfering with one of his Viceliege and his allies' plan. Nothing fancy - just one small cut would do. He still manages to crush them in a Curbstomp Battle that ended with Excelsius temporarily devouring and assimilating them all into his being without them doing so much as even inflicting a scratch on him. It was only when they managed to somehow break out Prince Blazing Sword - and in the process take him completely by surprise - that finally allowed them to inflict that wound. Excelsius was so impressed he sees no reason not to honour his word and withdrew, and also let the rest Blazing Hoof's brothers go earlier than he intended.
  • Immune to Mind Control: Thanks to his immense pride, it is noted he is next to impossible to control, mentally or spiritually.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Deconstructed. In general, he sees anything involving self-glorification as a sign of psychological insecurity, and sees those who hold vainglorous attitudes like Morning Star, Gilded City, and 'The Prideful King' as pathetic individuals who crave validation, yet refuse to see their own worth as sapients, flaws and all. This came from his own youthful experiences, where he tried to compensate for his own flaws by acting like his infamous mother, Iniquitous, seeing her as the epitome of what a divine sovereign should be. Iniquitous chastised him for his foolishness upon discovering this, influencing him to go on a journey of self-discovery that led to him gaining self-acceptance.
Prince Excelsius: The Baleful Light, the Prideful King, the Gilded Conqueror, the Imperious Despot... what do they and so many others like them share in common beyond their pride? Beneath their haughty exteriors you will find egos of clay – crippling insecurity, petty petulance, bitter vindictiveness, and even outright delusion. Their vanity is but an illusion to hide the truth of their own unworthiness, to cope with the fact however highly they see themselves, they fall short of the pinnacle they believe they stand on. For all their grandiose sense of self, in the end they are but slaves to their own pride, driven to deny their own flaws and imperfections, to seek constant affirmation, always raging against a world which dares, time and time again, to deny their fantasies of greatness, and in doing so reveal themselves for the pitiful, self-loathing creatures they truly are.
  • Intangible Man: One of the reasons Excelsius is so difficult to defeat is that he possesses the ability to turn himself into light, allowing him to phase through attacks.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Prince Excelsius is unique among characters embodying or defining pride in that he is not blinded by it, knowing exactly how worthy he is and knowing when even his prodigious power and talent is outmatched.
    • Excelsius and his Vertusian Good Counterpart Modest Bluebell stopped fighting when they both realized that they are too evenly matched to prevail over one another in their first fight. They spent the rest of the battle simply talking and getting to know each other while everyone else continues to slug it out, effectively taking each other and themselves off the board.
    • Prince Excelsius himself admitted in a drabble that while he is strong enough to keep the five Terran Princes he defeated and devoured inside him forever, he knows doing so would incur the wrath of Emperor Golden Scepter and the rest of the Terran Princes (on top of drawing both empires into a war that will be detrimental to both sides), and he knows he stands no chance against him when even his mother - repeatedly dreaded as an implacable divine force of inequine evil - had barely survived an earlier confrontation with him (she only walked away alive due to the Dark One (Temnobog) personally intervening). Hence, Prince Excelsius only planned to keep them imprisoned long enough to not interfere with one of his most valuable Viceliege and his allies' plans, and let them go unharmed and untouched afterwards - though they did managed to break out earlier, and inflict an injury on him, thus fulfilling the win condition he'd set out earlier, as well as impressing him enough to let them go early.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Invoked. One spell he wields is called the "Condemnation of Memory", which effectively wipes out people's memories of anything he targets, including the society and culture of entire civilizations, as if they never existed (on top of destroying said culture's physical existence so to leave no reminders). Notably, during a diplomatic meeting at the Convocation of Creatures he attended out of curiosity, he used the spell to punish a rather arrogant King for his unabashed cultural supremacism by wiping out his kingdom's entire culture - including the clothes they wore and the language they spoke - after he in a fit of narcissistic rage insulted everyone present and their nations (including by implication Excelsius and Malregnar). Even deities who knew of the kingdom's culture were left unable to remember it. However, it's implied there is a way to get out of the spell, as the persecuted, innocent, and repentant peoples of the affected kingdom were able to break free and revive their culture at the behest of Blue Suede/Caerulus and Modest Bluebell.
  • Light 'em Up: Implied in one drabble that one of His predominant domains grants Him light-based powers. And He is already strong enough with it that early in His existence that one beam from Him is enough to melt three mountains in succession (though He was receiving a power-boost from the prideful Child of Erebus He was fighting). Somewhat fitting considering his nature as 'Pride Incarnate' harkens to a certain fallen being associated with light and pride. He could create blinding auras of radiance from his body and casts beams and flashes of light, and also create tools, weapons and other things with Hard Light.
  • Light Is Not Good: He is an Alicorn whose overall appearance is light-themed, and one of his domains is Light, which gives him powerful light magic. He's also a God of Evil who embodies the sin of Pride, and he is the Crown-Prince of an evil empire that was founded by his mother... though he also embodies the constructive aspects of Pride and, like his mother, applies his domain for pragmatic/constructive purposes.
  • The Lost Lenore: One of the many legends surrounding his 'humbling experience' involved a mortal mare whom Excelsius came to love, yet for all his greatness and power he was unable to save from a terrible fate, a tragedy which made him realize in spite of his pride he is neither perfect nor infallible.
  • Magic Hair: His default form has a mane and tail made of hardened golden light that he keeps impeccably groomed and maintained. His true form has a mane and tail made of golden light that displays many historical moments where pride had been used for good and evil.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Prince of Pride", due to being one of Iniquitous' Princelings who embodies the vice of Pride.
  • Meaningful Name: Excelsius is a nominative/accusative/vocative neuter singular adjective of Excelsior, which means 'most high' and to 'surpass' and 'excel', rather fitting for an embodiment of Pride.
  • Mentor Archetype:
    • Invoked with Blue Suede Heartstrings. Following Blue Suede's coronation as Prince Caerulus Melodia Equestria, he has personally offered to help Blue Suede hone his existing abilities as a god of Humility, in case the Alicorn needed to fight powerful future foes who are prideful by nature.
    • He would also serve as a mentor to Blue Suede's husband, Prince Stoltur Skjöldur, whom he is tutoring in magic and other subjects during the latter's academic stay in Malrègnar.
  • Narcissist: Played With. He is so confident of his own greatness and accepting of who and what he is that he does not seem to be obsessive about himself. He doesn't seem to particularly care about what others think of him or at least don't let it rule him, holding no contempt nor hatred for those who are lesser than him or those who would oppose/challenge him. On the other hoof, he still uses himself as a metric to measure the greatness others, with pity for his lessers for their incomparability to him but also respect for those who can actually match or even surpass him.
  • Nice to the Waiter: Unlike many prideful individuals who abuse their lessers to stroke their own ego, he believes in showing pride through magnanimity, performing acts of kindness and charity towards his lessers even when they don't deserve it. This allows him to validate his own greatness in constructive ways, as the people he helps are spurred to praise him for things that are entirely deserved. In his words, the more capable and confident one is, the more they can afford to help others.
Prince Excelsius: Why be cruel when one can be magnanimous? Magnanimity is not just a privilege or obligation of betters, but also a measure of their true worth. The more capable and confident one is, the more one can afford to be magnanimous. Instead of demanding from or breaking others for validation, you validate oneself before others with your validation to them. What better way to demonstrate one is better than to display generosity and fairness towards those who deserve it, and even those who do not?
    • Although He could had gone ahead with the sanctioning without anyone being able to challenge His claim otherwise, He was polite enough to inquire if He would be imposing upon an Archdemon lord in dealing with a rival who had tried to manipulate Excelsius in a plot against him, since said lord is the actual target of the plot and thus he possessed a greater right of retribution against the target of their mutual ire. He only proceeded with making his displeasure known to the scheming Archdemon and his confederates once the other Archdemon confirmed he has no intention of preempting Him.
  • The Older Immortal: Among the seven eldest (but by no means only) of Malrègnar's Princelings of Vice, He is the eldest among them and presumably also the most powerful and capable.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Excelsius is old enough to have sired and outlived whole generations of offsprings. He often devoured and assimilated them into himself post-mortem, rewarding their love, devotion and achievements with eternal bliss and the glory that comes with being part of a greater being that is himself, while adding their own accumulated power and domains to himself and become even greater and more powerful.
  • Parental Abandonment: His father left him and his fellow oldest Princelings behind after he discovered his lover, Iniquitous, is a Godof Evil and couldn't handle the truth. The only mementos he has of his father are his memories and an amulet his father gave, which has since been divided into seven pieces amongst the seven oldest Princelings.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Like Malregnar, Prince Excelsius is incredibly pragmatic in his Evil and does not indulge in any Stupid Evil tendencies. In fact, being dragged into others' Stupid Evil schemes and shenanigans without their consent is one of the very few ways to offend and outrage the normally imperturbable and magnanimous crown-prince.
    • While Excelsius defeated and devoured five of the Terran Princes at one point to prevent them from interfering with a plot that one of His most valued subordinates were forced to participate, He has no plans to keep them imprisoned as a disembodied part of His being permenantly or corrupt/destroy them, as He knows doing so would only incur the enmity of Emperor Golden Scepter (who He knows even He stands no chance against) and trigger a conflict between Malregnar and Terra which would benefit no sides.
    • Excelsius like His mother and Malregnar do not allow themselves to be dragged into the plots of other evil factions and forces except when it is in their interests to do so, partly to avoid provoking other forces of good like Vertusia unnecessarily, but also because He (and the Malregnarians) think they are incredibly annoying distractions which the Prince of Pride and His lot don't want to get stuck in. As Excelsius noted to an Archdemon who tried to manipulate Excelsius as a pawn to a scheme against a rival:
Prince Excelsius: If We do not make an example of you, We would be forced to contend with such distractions from others at every turn.
  • Pride: Prince Excelsius is the Princeling of Pride and is predictably proud in terms of personality, but notably takes it in different directions from many other beings of pride, something which He himself lampshades and takes pride in. Rather ironically, it's implied he largely lives up to his own Pride, whereas the sin itself often involves the transgressor not actually deserving their greatness.
  • The Proud Elite: He is a divine embodiment of Pride, The Ace among his mother's scions, and all-but-stated to be the Crown-Prince of Malrègnar with his status as the firstborn and first of the seven eldest Princelings of Vice. He evidently pities those who he saw are beneath him, but holds neither hatred nor contempt for his lesser (or anyone for that matter, seeing such sentiments as beneath him) and still believes those who are lacking compare to him have potential of giving rise to someone whom he would respect for being able to rival or even surpass him.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He is a purple-furred Alicorn who usually wears a deep violet toga as part of his royal attire, and while he does change his physical appearance on a whim, they always contain a notable tint of violet. He is also the Crown-Prince of Malrègnar, and the oldest and (arguably) the second-most powerful deity in his homelands after his mother, Vicearch Iniquitous. This is due to the sin of pride being the first of the Seven Deadly Sins, and purple being thematically associated with it.
  • Really Gets Around: Excelsius has been around long enough to sire whole generations of divine and Semi-Divine scions. He has also outlived many of them, and reward their greatness by assimilating them post-mortem where they could enjoy eternal bliss and glory as part of his greater being.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: As a god of Pride, he can deliver these thanks to an ability called the "Augur of Arrogance", which lets him analyze his his opponents' strengths, weaknesses, and vices so he can tailor his Breaking Lectures in ways that would affect his opponents the most.
    • He delivers one to a prideful Child of Erebus who invaded His mother's lands and caused His siblings and the Empire much trouble in His younger days, after seeing the 'arrogant shade' for what he really is. It may be the start or part of a longer lecture throughout the rest of the battle which broke the ego of the Child of Erebus.
Prince Excelsius: You declare you are the greatest of your kind? What exactly have you achieved to support your claim? You say your darkness is greater than Our light? Then why have you not yet drowned Us in your shadows? You think We are unworthy of Our power? Who are you to judge?

For all your boasts, all We see before Us is an arrogant shade, a pale shadow of an older darkness who had proven unfit to stand among his own kin. Right here and now, the only one with the right to judge... is Us.

      And we find you wanting.
    • While attending a diplomatic meeting, he came across a rather arrogant and culturally racist King whose crimes were put on trial by the Convocation of Creatures. He shortly found said King to be so repulsive in personality that he used the Malrègnarian "Condemnation of Memory" spell to wipe away all memories of the culture the King touted to the point of cultural oppression - including the clothes he wore and the language he spoke. As the King groveled pitifully before him and begged for his memories back, he said this in response:
Prince Excelsius: You lord your nation's superiority over others, like a spoiled child, and heap dishonour and insults upon your peers - Us included - and yet believed you would not be called into account for it one day? Such unthinkable hubris alone deserve condemnation, amusing as it may had been. Had you kept your pride in check, We would had settled with whatever sanctions this Convocation have in mind for your kingdom's crimes. As it stands... your actions required Us to personally pass judgement upon you.
  • Royal "We": Much like his mother, he generally refers to himself as "We" and "Us", since as the Crown-Prince of Malrègnar, he represents the empire in its entirety.
  • Satanic Archetype: Excelsius is firstborn of his mother Vicearch Iniquitous and The Ace among the Princelings of Vice, who embodies Pride and is a master of light manipulation. Sound familiar?
  • Übermensch: Ascribes this to some extent. He is a firm adherer of 'Amor Fati', having such absolute certainty in his own greatness and acceptance of himself, Warts and All, he care not whatever fate he finds himself in or how others think of him, and if presented with the option he would ask nothing less than live and be himself as he is now again and again. He also, like his mother, do not succumb to his own Pride, but bends his embodiment to his will and master it, overcoming his own nature and turn it into means to make him greater rather than make him lesser as it did others who are undone by their pride.
  • Unperson: Invoked. Using a Malrègnarian spell called the "Condemnation of Memory", he can not only inflict this on those who truly earned his wrath, but also to abstract things such as a civilization's entire culture. This was done to punish a rather arrogant, culturally racist King for insulting him, which not only broke said King, but also left his affected kingdom vulnerable to multiple nations eager to avenge themselves for their cultural suppression. Even deities who knew of the kingdom's culture were affected, as a shocked Blue Suede/Caerulus noted that he couldn't remember even the regalia the once-proud King wore.
  • Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object: Just as his mother Vicearch Iniquitous ran into this problem with her Vertusian Good Counterpart Virtuecrat Fairytale, Excelsius the Prince of Pride ran into this problem with his Vertusian Good Counterpart Modest Bluebell, the Princess of Humility, due to their domains, power and skills being such perfect counters to each other they can neither out-fight, out-wit or otherwise out-match each other in any way. Modest Bluebell herself even lampshades this, referencing a comic one of her collective grandmothers Patch read in her youth where this problem was confronted by Superpony, with Excelsius realizing there is only one good answer to this conundrum: "They surrender."
  • Unwitting Pawn: One of the very few ways to truly set off the otherwise imperturbable and magnanimous crown-prince of Malregnar. As He explains it to an idiot who tried doing so, Malregnar is strictly neutral in other people and factions' affairs unless it is in their interests to do so, and they tend to be very merciless towards anyone who tries to drag them into their plots without their consent or otherwise interfere with their own agendas. That aside, as a dreaded divine embodiment of Pride, someone doing that to Him in itself is already a VERY personal affront.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Subverted. Compare to many beings of pride, he knows he's not and never prides himself in being perfect or infallible - rather, he prides himself in being better than most others (and become better still where there's room for improvement). Because of this, he holds not hatred for those few who could stalemate and even defeat him, seeing any being who could match and even surpass his greatness as worthy of respect. His absolute approval of himself, Warts and All, all but suggests he likely has no problem with actually losing or things not going his way, especially considering his likely status as The Ace making those situations incredibly rare to begin with.
  • Villain Respect: While he generally pities others for being incomparable to him, he respects those who manage to fulfill his high standards of greatness in both deed and character.
    • He genuinely respects Blue Suede Heartstrings for staying true to his humility and devotion to the 'King in Heaven', as well as being consistently polite to his mother Iniquitous during his first stay in Malrègnar. He admits he knew of Blue Suede's growing mental instability and was disappointed in the latter's choice to repress his own pride, but like Iniquitous, he remained confident that Blue Suede would changed his ways. His expectations come true when, following a tremendous psychological breakdown, Blue Suede would make a complete recovery and come to accept that it's okay to be prideful in positively constructive ways. He would also attend Blue Suede's wedding to Prince Stoltur (making him the first Princeling of Vice to publicly step hoof in Equestria), and has offered to serve as his mentor in honing his existing powers in case Blue Suede needed to fight powerful foes who embodied Pride.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: He once melted three mountains in succession with a divine light beam in His younger years while He was having a power-boost feeding on the Pride of an egotistical Child of Erebus He was fighting, though nothing suggests this is the strongest one He is capable of at the present given how much time and how much stronger He had become in the intervening millennia.
  • Winged Unicorn: Like his mother, he's an Alicorn, though one centered around light. His appearance is described as an Alicorn with a perpetually shimmering violet pelt, golden hooves, a mane and tail made of golden, hardened light, and a magical wing gradient going from violet to golden-yellow. His true form is an Alicorn lined with light-reflective materials like crystals and glass, his mane and tail displays historical moments where pride is used for both good and evil, and his wings are mirrors of hardened, golden light that show viewers reflections of their own potential magnificence.
  • The Worf Effect: Excelsius' status as the firstborn of Vicearch Iniquitous and The Ace among even the Princelings of Vice is emphasized in how he had triumphed over opposing forces, both good and evil, with his own great power and intellect, which in part is thanks to devouring countless deities and mortals in his lifetime.
    • The Children of Erebus had so far been depicted as powerful and dangerous menaces whether individually and collectively. One of Excelsius' proudest achievements was giving a Child of Erebus who had gave the Empire and even his siblings trouble a crushing and humiliating defeat all by himself. And this was in his younger days.
    • The Terran Princes of the Terran Empire, being scions of the venerable Emperor Golden Scepter, are rightly depicted as each a powerful and capable demigod hero dreaded by forces of evil and able to defeat nearly all foes they met so far. Prince Excelsius fairly recently delivered a Curbstomp Battle against no less than five of them - despite them fighting him together and him holding back by fighting with a weaker avatar and magnanimously set a win condition in their favour via 'drawing first blood on him'. He even consumed and assimilated them alive into his being to prevent them from recovering and interfering with one of his Viceliege and his allies' operations in its duration, though they did manage to break out.
    • On a downplayed receiving end against Oblivion Flame when she made her return. While he managed to hold his own and the battle ended indecisively, he notably had to use all his vast accumulated power to do so as Oblivion Flame is a Phoenix Griffon goddess far more ancient than he is who happens to be a Perpetual and has the Power of the Void, a combination of which made her virtually unkillable and difficult to overcome even for him. Excelsius notably can't even find a proper physical weak-point with his 'Augur of Arrogance' ability, implying she had none.
  • Worthy Opponent: Using his own greatness as a measure of others' worth, he would respect those who would challenge him and actually could match/surpass him. This is implied to be very difficult to achieve given it's implied he is already The Ace among the Princelings of the Vicearch.
    • He considers Princess Modest Bluebell, the Vertusian goddess of Humility, as one after they fought each other to a stalemate, both realizing each other as an Outside-Context Problem too evenly-matched to prevail over one another and eventually calling a truce. To this day, his relationship with her is the most civil out of the rest of their families.
    • He considers the Terran Princes as potentially this after they did remarkably well despite a Hopeless Boss Fight he gave them, and then managing to catch him completely by surprise by having one of them (Prince Blazing Hoof) break out of his body after he consumed them all, and even gave him a minor wound while he was still stupefied by the sudden turn of events - thus fulfilling the condition of a 'win' in their favour he set out earlier. This impressed him so much he freed the rest of the Terran Princes from his body early and look forward to meeting or matching them again if/when their greatness had grown enough for him to consider them his true equals.

Ahneus Vice Malrègnar, the Prince of Avarice

Classification: Ascendant

Portfolio: Avarice, [WIP]

Rank: Divine ([???])

Prince Ahneus is the Alicorn god of Avarice, and is one of the seven oldest Princelings of Vice.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn god who embodies Avarice.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: While avarice is generally portrayed as an evil vice, he believes that greed, whether abstract or material, can have positive aspects - Twilight Sparkle would not have become a goddess of Magic if she didn't want friends, and Iniquitous wouldn't have become the divine matriarch of an empire if she didn't possess ambition or power-lust.
Prince Ahneus: All beings, be they virtuous or villainous, desire something. Want is universal, born from the desire to possess what is needed to survive and thrive. If Daring Do had not wanted fame and fortune, she would not had been driven to archeology and adventure. If young Twilight Sparkle had not wanted friends, she would not had unlocked the 'Magic of Friendship'. If Our mother had not wanted power and dominion, She would not had conquered and rebuilt Malregnar in Her own image. Where would they and the world be now, We ask, had they not wanted what they desired?

Though the foolish, the corrupt and the weak let themselves be enslaved by their greed, instead of making themselves its master, it is meaningless and absurd to deny it utterly. Greed is inevitable, whether it comes roaring from your heart, or come whispering from the back of your mind. No matter what you do, one day it will come, demanding its due - and it is from satiating ones' greed, ones' wants, ones desires' that great things, both good or evil, are accomplished.
  • Embodiment of Vice: He specifically embodies Avarice, though like the rest of his family, he devotes his greedy nature to a utilitarian purpose.
  • God of Evil: Subverted. He's a god of Avarice, but like his mother, he uses his domains for utilitarian purposes. Presumably, he is Malrègnar's chief treasurer whose role is to manage the empire's finances.
  • Greed: As the Alicorn god of Avarice, he possesses a greedy nature. According to him, he placed great value in material wealth and hoarded as much as he possibly could. But once he started grand-scale transmutation spells to generate wealth, the precious minerals and gemstones he once collected so obsessively lost their meaning, and he began to prioritize utility more.
Prince Ahneus: (to Blue Suede Heartstrings) The thing about wealth, Sovereign of Music, is that what we treasure as wealth only has value because we give them such. And often, some things are only considered to have value primarily due to their scarcity. The world call gold, silver, platinum, and such 'precious metals' because to them, they are rare and thus valuable. Once we too considered them precious and thus of value, hoarding them in our avarice, but once we started utilizing transmutation on a grand scale, they have become too common to be considered 'valuable' anymore. It’s one reason why we now use souls and other things for currency instead.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Averted. He's part of a set of mix-gendered fraternal triplets that includes his sister Rapacious and his sibling Lascivious, so they can be easily told apart. Lascivious is also non-binary and frequently switches between being male and female on a whim.
  • Magic Staff: One useful artifact stored in his minor vaults is a staff of office that also doubles as an incredibly powerful spell-casting tool.
  • Meaningful Name: Ahneus is Finnish for 'Avarice'.
  • Same-Sex Triplets: Averted. He's born in a set of mix-gendered fraternal triplets that includes his sister, Rapacious, and their sibling, Lascivious. What's worth noting is that Lascivious is non-binary and frequently switches between being male and female on a whim.
  • Villain Respect: Much like his mother, he respects Blue Suede Heartstrings for his virtuous character, though another reason for this is implied to stem from the fact that Blue Suede treated Iniquitous with respect.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Ahneus could as one of his signature attacks launch a stream of white-hot molten metal at relativistic velocities which are so devastating it can outright slay lesser gods in one shot, and in the Fourth Age Ahneus is counted among the very few beings (nearly all of whom divines) besides Princess Amicitia who are capable of such a feat due to the sheer power requirements and complex magical manipulation involved, although his version - called the 'Lance of Ahneus' by the Malregnarians - uses different principles of operation.
  • Winged Unicorn: Like the rest of the seven first-generation Princelings, he's an Alicorn.
  • Worthless Yellow Rocks: In his youth, he obsessively hoarded as many precious minerals and gemstones as he could out of greed. But once he learned how to use grand-scale transmutation spells to generate wealth for Malrègnar, the treasures he once valued so highly now became worthless to him, their only value currently being in their aesthetics. He even outright calls the fields of gold, fields of silver and hills of gemstone in his personal domain "worthless" beyond pleasing aesthetics, and shows him the contents of one of his vaults containing artifacts which he truly prizes for their rarity and utility, after which Blue Suede Heartstrings - who was marveling at the stupendeous wealth seconds before - begins to understand his viewpoint.
Blue Suede Heartstrings: A nugget o' gold or a pretty gem is just a particularly shiny rock to a young foal, and if they grew up surrounded by them every day, they probably won't think they're a big deal.

Lascivious Vice Malrègnar, the Princep of Lust

Classification: [TBA]

Portfolio: Lust, [WIP]

Rank: Divine ([???])

Princep Lascivious is the Alicorn deity of Lust, and is one of the seven oldest Princelings of Vice.
  • Ambadassador: They're the main diplomat of the Princelings of Vice, having negotiated the treaties and deals between Malregnar and Vertusia with the aid of their oldest brother, Excelsius, and the dominion representing the 'Neutrality Between Them' acting as arbitrator.
  • Amicable Exes: Is one for Alraghba, having fallen in love with her for her passion and resolve, and vice-versa for all they had done for her. Both have had a happy relationship while she was in Malregnar, to the point of starting a family with children who would go on to join the ranks of the Princelings. Even so, Lascivious knows that they don't hold a candle to Alraghba's One True Love Hasra, but was fine with it and in fact encouraged Alraghba to go back home and find him (or at least find closure) when they noticed her melancholy and homesickness. Even after Alraghba became a sadistic divine genie tyrant who terrorised Saddle Arabia and the Near East for centuries afterwards they remain on friendly terms.
  • The Archmage: They're widely considered the greatest sorcer(ess) of Malregnar, with their brother Languorous, the Prince of Sloth being the greatest Wizard and their sister Rapacious being the greatest Mage, making them the 'Artist' to their brother's 'Scientist' and sister's 'Engineer'.
  • Becoming the Genie: Invoked this for Alraghba, answering her wish to become a genie herself by destroying the Jackass Genie she is meeting who was denying her desire (an act they found disagreeable) and transforming her into one with his essence.
  • Berserk Button: Do NOT mess with those they had fallen in love with, even after their relationship ended. Also, do not deny true love and passion for the pettiest or most prejudiced reasons. They WILL make you SUFFER.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Lascivious is Affably Evil like the others and genuinely love all those they found themselves drawn to. But those who earn their ire predictably live to regret it as they are reminded that they are messing with the third eldest blood-scion of Vicearch Iniquitous Herself whose power eclipses entire pantheons.
    • Lascivious, helping a mortal Alraghba following her marring and exile in the guise of a mortal foreign sorceror, was depicted to be quietly furious at the genie Alraghba was meeting denying the fulfilment of her desires, and in response granted Alraghba's wish to become a genie herself by reaching out their power outright destroying the genie and transforming her with his essence.
    • Lascivious was once angered when a mare they had once romanced was being threaten with persecution and death by her father and family for falling in love with another mare (a true love which Lascivious themselves approved and gave their blessing to) out of religious fanaticism and faith-induced prejudice. In response, Lascivious not only killed the entire clan except for the father to protect their former lover from further harm, but made said father watch as they personally destroyed their gods (who were just as prejudiced and also corrupt), their religion (ditto), any remaining worshipper who refused to renounce their faith (nearly all of them the fanatical, prejudiced or foolish), descecrated all that the faithful held holy, and erased all traces of their doctrines and dogma from the face of Equus and even their memories. As a final humiliation, they made the by-then utterly broken stallion give his explicit permission to allow his daughter to marry the mare she fall in love with, only to reveal they never explicitly promised to restore everything they destroyed as he thought they would in exchange for his promise, before finally obliterating him in his moment of absolute despair and handing his soul to the Amaredae for punishment.
  • Beyond the Impossible: In their grounded/pragmatic/constructive view on their domain of Lust, Lascivious noted though achieving the pinnacles of sensation, power, creativity, knowledge and other abstract and fleeting desires is often impossible, it is through this journey for the unattainable which drives people to exaltation and accomplishment, with the implication that those who deny or without their Lust will not be as driven to accomplish anything.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: Had been accused of this for directly or indirectly turning Alraghba Malaka, the Sultanah of Wishes into the sadistic divine genie tyrant she is today by the Saddle Arabians and other Near Easterners, leading to them being targetted in particular by gods and heroes from that region which invaded the empire in retaliation. While the Malregnarians had not denied Lascivious and the empire as a whole had taught her knowledge and exposed her to their worldview during her stay there which she used to become what she is today, everything she did was both AFTER she left the service of the empire and of her own accord, and her reigns of terror afterwards are almost always out of hatred and contempt they invited from her for their own selfishness and cruelty.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Both male and female version on account of being Non-Binary. Being Lust incarnate, they have found themselves attracted to and have had many partners, but sincerely love each and every one of them. They don't even mind if they love someone more than they do, as denying someone who or what they truly desire and deserve is something they feel to be against their nature, and ultimately wishes for them to be happy.
  • Embodiment of Vice: Lascivious is the Princeling of Lust, embodying the intense desire for abstract or fleeting things such as passion and power.
  • God of Evil: Subverted. While they're a deity of Lust, they apply it for constructive, utilitarian purposes.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Revealed to be one for Alraghba Malaka, the Sultanah of Wishes, having sympathised with her plight when they came across the marred and heartbroken mare she was and helped her, ultimately falling in love with her for her passionate desires and her determination to attain them.
  • Hot God: Or goddess, depending on their gender at the moment. In their female aspect Lascivious is widely considered the pinnacle of the Malrègnarian ideal of female physical beauty, where their brother Excelsius embodies the same for male physical beauty.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Sensing that Alraghba Malaka is still heartbroken and long for her first love Prince Hasra, Lascivious encouraged her to go back home and find him, or at least find closure about him, telling her that she would always have a place in their heart due to them being Lust incarnate and wanting her to find peace and happiness for herself if she can.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Averted. They're part of a set of mix-gendered fraternal triplets that includes their sister Rapacious and their brother Ahneus, so the three of them can be easily told apart. Notable is that they're non-binary and frequently switches between being male and female on a whim.
  • Meaningful Name: Lascivious is a synonym for 'Lustful'. Princep, meanwhile, is the Latin root-word for prince and princess and is rather neutral in terms of gender connotations.
  • Mentor Archetype: Lascivious was this to Alraghba Malaka, having taught her advanced Dark Magic and Malregnarian sorceries in order to give her a chance at attaining what she desires and deserved which had been so cruelly denied or taken from her.
Vicearch Iniquitous: It seems she is progressing well in her studies, Our Princeling.
Princep Lascivious: Yes, Mother, quite so. The Near East took everything away from her, including the One she desired most. We figured she deserves nothing but the best We can offer.
  • Non-Human Non-Binary: Lascivious is a deity embodying Lust among other domains, which does not discriminate between genders. As such, Lascivious is like their Vertusian counterpart 'Nonbinary', having no set gender and switching between a male and female form depending on situaion and desires.
  • Pet the Dog: Went out of their way to help Alraghba when they first met her marred and heartbroken mortal self while travelling the Near East in disguise, having sympathised with her plight and ultimately falling in love with her over her passionate desires and her determination to attain it no matter the odds.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Lascivious delivered a brutal one to the prejudiced and fanatical father of one of their former lovers whom they protected from him and his clan trying to murder them for 'degeneracy' in their religious fanaticism and bigotry, with Lascivious retaliating by not only killing off the entire clan except for him to stop them from hurting their loved one, but also made him watch as they wiped out his gods, religion and every trace of the dogma which he had used to justify his bigotry. They made it clear to him that EVERYTHING that happened was his fault and asks if it was worth it in the end.
Lascivious: We had consumed your decadent gods, destroyed your hypocritical priests, slaughtered all who did not renounce your faith, desecrated all you deemed holy beyond purification, and even blotted every word of your profane dogma from the minds of all. And it is all because of you, father of our once beloved - You, who chose fanaticism over your daughter's happiness. You, who let prejudice triumph over your love. You, whose pride has now destroyed everything which gave your existence meaning... We ask you, was it truly worth it?
  • Replacement Goldfish: Became one for Alraghba Malaka, the Sultanah of Wishes after she was separated forever from her first love Prince Hasra, having sympathised with her plight and then genuinely fall in love with her for her passionate desires and her determination to attain them. They are very aware though they can never truly replace Hasra in Alraghba's heart, but are fine with it.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Being Lust incarnate, they feel it is against their nature to deny themselves or others what they desire and deserve, and saw those who cruelly deny it to others for their selfish gain or amusement to be an unforgivable offence. Best exemplified in Alraghba Malaka's case, when Lascivious outright destroyed a Jackass Genie who denied her desires and used his essence to transform Alraghba into one instead as she had wished.
  • Was It Really Worth It?: Lascivious asked this to the father of a former lover who drew their ire when he and his family tried to kill her and the mare she fell in love with in their religious fanaticism for 'degeneracy'. In retaliation, Lascivious not only destroyed his entire clan to protect the couple, but also made him watch as they destroyed his gods, his religion, and even the very trace of the dogma he believed in and drove his actions - in effect, taking away everything that mattered to the prejudiced and devoted stallion and which he had used to justify his actions. From the by-then utterly broken stallion's reaction, he probably knew it wasn't worth it.

Invidious Vice Malrègnar, the Princess of Envy

Classification: [TBA]

Portfolio: Envy, [WIP]

Rank: Divine ([???])

Rapacious Vice Malrègnar, the Princess of Gluttony

Classification: [TBA]

Portfolio: Gluttony, [WIP]

Rank: Divine ([???])

  • The Archmage: She's considered the greatest Mage in Malrègnar, with her brother Languorous being the greatest Wizard and her sibling Lascivious being the greatest Sorcerer/Sorceress.
  • Big Eater: While her mother and her biological/adoptive siblings are 'Devourers', she has consumed the most sapients compared to the other Princelings of Vice, befitting her status as a goddess of Gluttony.
  • Embodiment of Vice: She is a divine embodiment of Gluttony.
  • Foil: Is likely one to Queen Eclaira of the Shadowpact Pantheon, minus Eclaira's obsessive vanity.
  • God of Evil: Subverted. While she's a deity of Gluttony, she applies it for constructive, utilitarian purposes.
  • Meaningful Name: Rapacious is a synonym for 'Gluttonous'.

Acrimonious Vice Malrègnar, the Princess of Wrath

Classification: [TBA]

Portfolio: Wrath, Retribution, Conflict, War[WIP]

Rank: Divine ([???])

  • Curbstomp Battle: Like the rest of her siblings and being the divine embodiment of Wrath, Acrimonious's sheer accumulated power and knowledge as well as her well-honed martial skills and well-controlled battle-rage enables her to inflict defeats on entire pantheons and armies without a scratch or even breaking a sweat.
    • During a conference by deities of law, justice, retribution and other similar concepts which Acrimonious was invited to by some constructive evil participants, one of the Poenan-minded puristic justice deity was so outraged by her mere presence he broke truce to draw his weapon and tried to ambush her as she walked down a hallway of the venue from the side... and was disarmed and disabled (not killed nor even crippled) by no less than fifty precise but devastating blows from Acrimonious, who drew her weapons to strike back in self-defence and then holstered them, all the while without being seen doing it, without breaking stride, nor even acknowledging his existence or attack. Did we mention this all took place so fast it happened in less than an eyeblink?
  • The Dreaded: Acrimonious is Malregnar's greatest warrior and military commander as well as the overseer of its procuratore system, making her not only her mother's top general but also her enforcer and executioner. She is also, like her siblings, the seven eldest blood scions of Vicearch Iniquitous, possessing power dwarfing entire pantheons and capable of inflicting a Curbstomp Battle to many of them all at once with her sheer skill and strength. Suffice to say, many both in and outside of the empire are afraid of her.
  • Embodiment of Vice: Wrath, in her case.
  • Evil Weapon: Possesses one in the form of Murd'ahrvo'hahsh, the Song of Slaughter. Murd'ahrvo'hahsh was originally an infernal of antiquity born from the arcanic imprint of the first act of murder by the first members of a yet-identified race which grew over aeons into a monstrous demonic horror fear and hated by even its fellow infernals. Compelled by its nature to slaughter and destroy all around it, its rampages had destroyed whole empires, driving those in its presence with mindless wrath and murderous rage. Like its counterpart Drach'nyen, the End of Empires however, Acrimonious defeated it utterly when its rampages led it into Malregnar and reforged it into a shapeshifting infernal weapon befitting her might and nature, bound to her will and utterly under her control, turning it from a murderous harbringer of death and ruin to a tempered armament of conquest and punishment. It is powerful enough that when skillfully wielded Acrimonious could disarm whole armies of mortals without a single drop of spilled blood to slaughtering whole pantheons without a single survivor.
  • Four-Star Badass: On top of being considered the greatest warrior of the empire, Acrimonious is also its mightiest general.
  • I'll Pretend I Didn't Hear That: Acrimonious demonstrated her skill at battle and contempt for one puristic justice deity who broke truce and attacked her when she made a rare outside appearance attending a conference of law/justice/retribution/etc. deities at a few constructive evil deities' request by not even acknowledging his existence nor his attack against her as she walked down the hallways of the venue, skillfully disarming and disabling him with no less than fifty blows between drawing and holstering her weapons in less than an eyeblink, all without breaking stride.
  • Judge, Jury, and Executioner: On top of being being considered Malrègnar's greatest warrior and mightiest general, Acrimonious is also a patron/overseer of its procuratorate organs which maintains law and order in Malrègnar, and some of her titles involve being her mother's enforcer and executioner.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Acrimonious' sheer martial skill, both well-honed and accumulated, enables her to react and strike so fast and furious even other martial deities could barely even notice her attacks, to say nothing of blocking or avoiding them. She once disabled a puristic justice deity attacking her with no less than fifty blows, drawing her weapons to do so and holstering them afterwards, in less than an eyeblink. She didn't even acknowledge he was attacking her.
  • Magic Knight: According to a Drabble, Acrimonious is widely considered the greatest magic-knight and battle-mage in Malregnar, on top of being the empire's mightiest warrior and general.
  • Meaningful Name: Acrimonious is one of the words for 'Wrath', in the context of being 'angry/bitter over being wronged', which is essentially what wrath is: a "strong uncomfortable and non-cooperative response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat".
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Acrimonious noted in some ways Malregnar's views on justice are not so different from those of Alexio, the Resolute Justice and those of the good and just systems from the outside world, even if they are twisted by their own nature. She also pointed out that as Wrath is one of the roots of Sapientkind's justice - being the desire, obligation and right to bring retribution to those who had wronged them - the righteous rage Alexio felt at the mass-murdering Autorists, the fanatical Poenans and even at her and Malregnar are not so different from the wrath which she embodies and made her her mother's enforcer/executioner and supervisor of Malregnar's procuratorate system. Alexio rather respectfully disagrees.
  • One-Man Army: Widely considered to be the greatest warrior of the empire, she is more or less one herself, her sheer accumulated power as well as skill and battle-rage allowing her to take on even whole legions of divines and infernals/celestials and defeat them in short order, to say nothing of mortal armies.
    • In the backstory of General Risen Gravitas, presently one of the Vicelieges of Malregnar who once served an Autorist Griffon kingdom, the general and his expeditionary force's relatively successful resistance against the Malregnarian expeditionary forces during the 'Devastation of Rotkraellea' caught the attention of Princess Acrimonious herself, such that she eventually decided to go in to face them personally in an avatar. Despite only using a tiny fraction of her full accumulated power, she proceeded to utterly defeat them in short order, but spared their lives upon seeing their potential. She proceeded to get them to change sides and serve Malregnar by telling them the truth of their mission by their former Autorist Griffon superiors.
  • Tranquil Fury: Acrimonious is described as 'brooding and bellicose' character-wise, but is noted to be in absolute control of her emotions and nature. Of course, she didn't start off that way.
  • Villain Respect:
    • Despite both disagreeing with each others' respective philosophies on justice, she admits and it's noted that she respect Alexio, the Resolute Justice as he does her on some level, in convictions if nothing else.
    • She was impressed by Nikealogos, the Champion of Victory/Slayer of Gods after he managed to hold his own against one of her avatars, calling him "a being of focus, commitment and sheer will.”

Languorous Vice Malrègnar, the Prince of Sloth

Classification: [TBA]

Portfolio: Sloth, Governance, Domination, Evil, Magic [WIP]

Rank: Divine ([???])

  • Badass Bookworm: Is one of the most brilliant researchers and magicians in Malrègnar, often devoting as much time as his mother in analyzing and solving problems as well as developing potent new spells.
  • Badass Bureaucrat: Applying his domains, he is the one responsible for optimizing his mother's regime into a highly efficient system of governance and administration, and is implied to help run effectively the bureaucracies which keeps the empire functioning.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Known to be underestimated out of all the Princelings on account of his domain of Sloth, making everyone think he's a lethargic and apathetic being. But as he himself noted he is not enthralled by his domain, but bends his embodiment to his will and applies it in pragmatic and proper ways that make him exceedingly capable and dangerous, able to achieve greatest feats and effects with minimal but efficient investment of effort.
  • Embodiment of Vice: He is a divine incarnation of Sloth, among other things.
  • Enemy Summoner: While he could summon minions to fight on his behalf, he also supports them indirectly in various ways, and when push comes to shove he could also fight directly.
  • Evil Counterpart: To his Vertusian Good Counterpart Persistent Orchid, the Princess of Diligence, who embodies diligence as one of her domains.
  • Meaningful Name: Languorous is a word for 'Sloth'.
  • The Minion Master: Is known to create/summon great forces of servants/subordinates - mortal, infernal, undead, constructs and others - to do his bidding as part of his domains.
  • The Quiet One: The most reclusive of the seven eldest Princelings of Vice, but no less dangerous and capable whether in the background or in the foreground.
  • The Strategist: While taking a more background role in times of war and battle compare to his brothers such as Acrimonious, Languorous still plays an important role by using his domains to become a highly capable strategist, specializing in using minimal amount of effort and resources to achieve maximal results and success.

Other Princelings

Propitious Vice Malrègnar, the Princeling of Hope
First mentioned in a drabble, Propitious is an adopted princeling of Vicearch Iniquitous and the counterpart of Despairing Cypress, the Princess of Despair of Vertusia in Malregnar, having been exchanged with her by his true birth parent, Virtuecraft Fairytale with her true birth parent Vicearch Iniquitous as part of an agreement between the Empire of Malregnar and the Realms of Vertusia. Despite being the divine embodiment of a heavenly virtue in an ascendant empire build on vice and evil, he has, like his counterpart, ultimately found a place and purpose among his adoptive family and land while still asserting his true nature.
  • Anti-Villain: He's quite literally the Token Good Teammate among the Princelings of Malregnar, and as such while he still supports the empire and the mother who adopted him, he does so in a manner which enable him to remain true to his nature as an embodiment of a virtue.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: As the foundation of an important agreement with Vertusia, Iniquitous can't punish him like She can anyone else. He's well aware of this, and thus can outright defy and talk back to Her in ways even his adopted siblings likely can't.
  • Hope Bringer: His role, though he does it in a way befitting of his adoptive home. For example, here's what he told a young Sepherhoth.
“As Our own adoptive Mother had once told Acrimonious, and to many of Us: ‘We are what the world made us to be. What we truly are is what we do with it.’ You never asked to be an accident of fate and the product of others’ mad ambitions, but would you let yourself be defined by it, driven mad by the truth? Or would you rise above it, and become something more?”
  • Loophole Abuse: Numidium is corroded if evil hopes and dreams are channeled through them, preventing the lawful evil Empire of Malrègnar from exploiting the rare and incredibly potent material. However, being an embodiment of hope born of an incarnation of purity, Propitious is under no such restriction, making him one of the only beings within Malrègnar who could master it, something he's prompt to Lampshade.

Parummortis Vice Malrègnar, the Princeling of Bones

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Death, Necromancy, Bones

Rank: Demigod

First introduced in a Drabble, formally introduced in another Drabble, and referenced in another entry, Parummortis is a very young but promising Princeling of Vice with budding powers over death.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn demigod who embodies Death, Necromancy, and Bones.
  • Cheerful Child: Like the other youngest Princelings, he adores his "Uncle Bluey", who is a family friend. He eagerly showed off his talent in Necromancy to Blue Suede Heartstrings by bringing back a dead Great Wyrm that once attacked Malrègnar and was killed by Sepherhroth as a skeletal horror... that proceeded to scare Blue Suede by roaring in his face.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is Latin for "little death", which fits given his age and talent in necromancy. It also sets him apart from the older Princelings, who are already quite accomplished deities in their own right, and emphasizes his youth.
  • Necromancy: Despite being one of the youngest Princelings, he is already able to revive a dead Great Wyrm dragon that once attacked Malrègnar as a skeletal horror, which they eagerly showed off to Blue Suede Heartstrings. Blue Suede was decidedly impressed yet a bit frightened.
Youngest Princeling: Hey Uncle Bluey, look what I can do!
    Undead Dragon: [ROOOOOOAAAAAR!!!]
Blue Suede Heartstrings: Wow... you kids never fail ta surprise me...!
  • Odd Friendship: He's an excitable young colt whereas his counterpart, Princess Passionate Rose, is shy and timid. Despite this, they frequently get into misadventures together.
  • To Be a Master: Despite being a young colt, he wants to be the "King of Necromancers" when he grows up.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Not with his mother, but his Honorary Uncle, Blue Suede Heartstrings. Parummortis adores Blue Suede and frequently shows off his bone constructs to earn the latter's approval, no matter how creepy they are.

Suasorius Vice Malrègnar, the Princeling of Conceit
First introduced in a Drabble, Suasorius, the Princeling of Conceit is a son of Invidious, the Princess of Envy who took after his mother in being a masterful propagandist, possessing a supernatural charisma and persuasive power so potent he could sway whole realms to his will, corrupt all but the greatest sovereigns and heroes into overlords and villains, and turn whole pantheons against themselves with mere words alone.
  • The Corruptor: Known to do this and able to do this to whole lands and even pantheons with mere words.
  • Expy: One for Glorious Godfrey, a New God of Apokalips whose power come from his ability to control the minds and beliefs of others through his sweeping words.
  • Good Counterpart: Has one in the Realms of Vertusia and the Virtuous Ones who are just as good as he is with words and persuasion and serve as his main counter.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Takes after his mother. He's so charismatic and persuasive that during a diplomatic visit to Equestria, he managed to present and change Equestrian public opinion on Malregnar so thoroughly much of the country was ready and willing to join forces with the Empire. To note, he wasn't even actively trying to subvert the country.
  • Meaningful Name: Suasorius is Latin for being persuasive, expostulatory and exhortative.
  • More than Mind Control: He is one of the few to master the 'Logos Plague', insidious memetic patterns and 'idea viruses' articulated through various means which could undermine and subvert all but the most protected or immune sapient minds and information systems, bending them to his will and persuade even the most intractable minds to his cause.
  • Shout-Out: His Drabble is one to a relatively famous comic panel depicting Glorious Godfrey and Darkseid.
