Voiced by: Yui Ogura (Japanese), Leonora Haig (English)
A specter who was raised at the Cat Shrine. Despite her cat-like appearance, she has a whimsical and innocent personality. She lives with the other shrine maidens while fulfilling the wishes written by people on tablets at the shrine. She is the descendant of a family that were blessed by the Cat Deity, but she has somewhat complex feelings about her background. It could be because of this that she sometimes shows a lonely or spoiled side.
  • Cat Girl: She is a specter with cat ears and tail in her humanoid form.
  • Combat Medic: Her "Cat Hook" skill heals 1500 HP to the party in addition to dealing damage to all foes. If an elemental zone is active, the healing is doubled.
  • Did You Just Scam Cthulhu?: In her third character quest, she tricked the Phantom that threatens to kill Altena by making it look like that she goes along with its plan and have the Sacred Beast removed from Altena, only to reveal later that she merely removes the elementals overloading Altena and make it look like the Sacred Beast instead. Needless to say, the Phantom is not amused.
  • Elemental Powers: Like Cynthia, her attack skills change type depending on the active elemental Zone, although it defaults to Earth. Her Another Style's Scintillating Spirit temporarily changes every combatant's attacks to match the active elemental Zone.
  • Hurricane of Puns: Nearly all of her dialogues are peppered with cat-related puns. Even she calls Aldo as "Nyaldo".
  • Injured Vulnerability: "Cat Hook" deals triple damage on enemies inflicted by Pain.
  • Like a Daughter to Me: Nyanjiro treats her as his own family, and shows concern towards her when she departs to fulfill her duty to re-seal the Dark God.
  • Mega Neko: Her specter form is a gigantic cat.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has white hair, and she is a cat specter and also apparently has the blessing of Cat Deity.
  • The Resenter: Admits to Altena that she hates her due to circumstances surrounding the Sacred Beast, but not because of the power itself - rather, Necoco hates Altena due to the fact that despite all of the mishaps surrounding the Sacred Beast's circumstances, Altena is strong enough and willingly takes full responsibility of the matter - something that Necoco believes that she wouldn't have been able to do. She seems to have come to terms with it by the end of her quest, however.
  • The Unchosen One: Originally, Necoco is supposed to inherit the powers of the Sacred Beast as the descendant of its protector. However, due to changes in history, the Sacred Beast bonds with Altena who ends up inheriting its power instead.

    Otoha

Click here to see AS Otoha
Voiced by: Mie Sonozaki (Japanese), Tuyen Do (English)
A shrine maiden from the east. The shrine she tends is dedicated to a great cat spirit, and she is convinced that she is reincarnation of it. She traveled west to spread the word of this great cat spirit, but it doesn't seem to be going well. She's a little self-centered and easily distracted, but will always help people in need.
  • Cat Girl: Downplayed. Aside from hissing when she's angry and munching on catnip, she looks human.
  • Cool Big Sis: She is apparently this to Necoco, since Necoco always go to her when she needs reassurance and attention. That said, Necoco herself is not above admonishing Otoha whenever she starts slacking off.
  • Idiot Hero: She gets befuddled by the clues left by the robbers she chases in her second quest. The robbers are children.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: While it's left hanging, the fact that she unconsciously attacks the beastman spy and the monsters sneaking up on Aldo may be pure luck as much as it may be something linked to her "godly" origins.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: She challenges the recruit she's training after the recruit shows her up. While it was mostly her ego talking, he really was a beastman spy.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Otoha is rather full of herself for a simple shrine maiden with delusions of grandeur. She justifies it by saying that being vainglourious comes with being a god. Even her god's emissary tells her to tone it down a notch.

Fugen Itto-Ryu Dojo

    Akane
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akane_1.png
Click here to see AS Akane
Voiced by: Harumi Sakurai (Japanese)
A young female samurai from the east. She left her home on a secret mission to find her older brother Shion, who she reveres more than anyone in the world. She doesn't rate her skills compared to her brother, but the truth is she's an expert with a blade. Her underestimation of her own skill sometimes gets her into trouble.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: As she possesses no formal training, her swordsmanship was picked up simply by observing Shion.
  • Big Brother Worship: She admires her big brother and considers his skills unparalleled.
  • Blood Knight: A friendly version, but she really enjoys fighting. Should you fight against her, Shigure, and Shion in the Itto-ryu dojo, the latter two have to drag her away once it's over because she wants to keep going.
  • Boyish Short Hair: She keeps her hair short and is as tomboyish as they get.
  • Character Tic: Whenever Akane gets excited, she has a tendency to draw out her sword. Even the slightest stuff like Aldo mentioning the word "festival" is enough to make her do this.
  • Charged Attack: Her Another Style's unique attack is Divine Circle Slash, a single-hit skill that hits more times with repeated use, culminating in a flurry of slashes after the third consecutive use.
  • Critical Hit Class: If her Manifest weapon is mastered, AS Akane becomes this, as her "Anatman" skill will give Akane guaranteed critical for four times use in addition to increased offense and speed. Furthermore, Divine Circle Slash's damage will be increased even further upon critical.
  • Father, I Want to Marry My Brother: She made this childish promise to Shion way back when they were kids.
  • The Fool: She's an Idiot Hero who blazes through her AS quest Comically Missing the Point and completely disregarding Shigure's more reasonable advice (that she asked for!), and yet it all bizarrely works out for her.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Foolish one, according to Shion. He had to get her out of trouble more than once and claims she draws her sword at the slightest provocation.
  • Genius Ditz: She's an airhead, but Shigure and Shion admit that her natural talent with the sword surpasses theirs.
  • Hot-Blooded: So much that she was never made an official student of the Itto-Ryu because of it. For one, she tends to whip out her sword whenever she's excited, even if the situation doesn't remotely call for violence.
  • Like Brother and Sister: With Aldo, whom Akane views as something of a Shion replacement when the actual Shion's not around.
  • Not a Date: In her Character Quest, Aldo shows Akane around Barouki, then a kid spotted them and asked if they are dating, to which the two deny.
  • Oblivious to Love: When she receives a letter from an apparent secret admirer, she concludes that it's requesting a duel with her. As she admits to Aldo, she's not quick on the uptake when it comes to this kind of thing. She is also oblivious to various nuances of love, to the point that she doesn't understand why Shion (and to some degree, Aldo) bans her from talking about her Childhood Marriage Promise to her own brothernote  and why everyone else would be weirded out by it.
  • Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: In her AS quest, Genshin tries to blackmail her into becoming his second wife... and almost immediately kicks her out after realizing that he can't handle her at all.
  • Wax On, Wax Off: She tries candy making in hopes that skills will transfer to her swordsmanship. To no one else's surprise, the skills turn out to be completely unrelated.
  • "Well Done, Daughter" Girl: Tied with Big Brother Worship above, one of her Another Style victory quotes has her asking for praise from her brother.

    Shigure
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101020101_base.png
Click here to see AS Shigure
Voiced by: Ryōhei Kimura (Japanese), Matthew Leonhart (English)

A samurai from the East. He is the eldest son and next in line of succession for the Itto-ryu Fugen school. Since his young days he has studied the sword arts under the current head of the school, his father. It is rumored that his skills have already exceeded his father's. Most of all he enjoys the company of his childhood friend.

  • Agent Peacock: His descriptions often refer to him as a dandy, as he evidently cares about fashion and a number of his Valor Chants use flowery language, none of which detract from him being a battle-happy samurai.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: While all of his skills are offensive to begin with, Shigure's Another Style is more notable of this trope because even his Valor Chant inflicts damage to all enemies after setting up Water zone, in addition to his kits basically encouraging this to the whole party. His AS skills, Tenjinreppa, allows him to do end-of-turn attack, and Itto-Ryu: Gushusui gets stronger the more attacks are done by party members in the previous round.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: He's a fun-loving prankster, but certain moments reveal a ruthless side to him, without ever dropping the boisterous attitude. His AS quest lampshades it, as a thug mentions his reputation of being a complete idiot but someone you never want to cross.
  • Big Brother Mentor: He once made Akane swear an oath to come to him if she ever needed advice, given how empty her head tends to be.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: He's the life of the party, and very Hot-Blooded when it comes to fights. His first quest has him excited over the prospect of a strong opponent... to the extent that he rushes in solo, forgetting it was supposed to be a group effort until it's over and his mistake dawns on him.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Desperately wants to be popular but constantly gets rejected. With that said, it's more that he wants to get married, and in his usual way, got carried away with it—as Aldo points out, he only needs to be liked by one woman, not multiple.
  • Characterization Marches On: He debuted as an NPC in Shion's AS quest before being released as a unit, with his speaking manner being notably different back then, as well as being more openly antagonistic compared to his Innocently Insensitive portrayal in his own quests.
  • Childhood Friends: With Shion (and, by association, Akane).
  • Cool Horse: Like Shion, Shigure has his own horse named Matsukazenote . He uses this to chase the Synth Human kidnapping the children in his second quest.
  • Dual Boss: With Shion, should you visit the Itto-ryu dojo enough times. In the rematch, Akane joins them, and he and Shion even get a Combination Attack together.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Made his debut as an NPC in Shion's AS quest months before his release. As per usual, dialogue will change if you've obtained Shigure before doing said quest, but it still implicitly assumes that Shigure's character quests haven't taken place yet.
  • Engaging Conversation: If you're a woman who meets his (very basic) conditions, Shigure will try to propose to you. Immediately.
  • Foil: He's designed to complement Shion or be his opposite in every way, from their portraits to unit element and skills to character quests to personality and ideals. Also, their affinity with cats.
  • Friend to All Children: Children adore him, and he returns the sentiment.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Cats take to Shigure (something that poor Shion would love, as Aldo notes). Naturally, he has the Cat Lover trait.
  • Hidden Depths: His first two quests have him act purely as the Plucky Comic Relief... before his third quest turns many of his previously humorous quirks on their head and reveals a surprisingly bittersweet, thoughtful side to him. To drive in the point, his quest names go from the light-hearted "Serving Through Bizarreness/Love" to "Serving Through Regicide".
  • It's Personal: The reason why he is so determined to assassinate Lord Genshin is because from how he sees it, it is the only way he can free Shion from the dishonor inflicted on him.
  • May–December Romance: In his Another Style quest, he has this with an elderly woman who fell for him after he saved her from some thugs. Except things turn very awkward when it turns out that she is Lord Genshin's mother. After some mischiefs from Lord Genshin himself, the elderly woman eventually decided to call off their engagement because she feels that she doesn't deserve to be with Shigure considering that he is a good person and is also surrounded by good people, and decides to return to Kurosagi Castle to re-educate Lord Genshin by herself. Shigure gracefully accepted it, but not before telling her that he'll gladly marry her if she feels that she is ready.
  • Meaningful Name: In the same vein as Shion, except as a water DPS, his 5-star class is Watatsumi, named after a water deity.
  • Samurai Ponytail: He wears his hair in one.
  • Tiger Versus Dragon: The Tiger to Shion's Dragon, as noted in-story and represented by their 5-star portraits.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: Unlike Shion, Shigure falls squarely into "good" and criticizes Shion for putting loyalty above what's right.

    Shion
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/another_eden_shion.png
Click here to see AS Shion
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese)
A samurai from the east who is on a secret mission. Despite his youth he is an expert with his katana. He keeps his emotions in check, so can seem cold, but actually has a lot of humanity. He has deep love of cats, and is known to always have some cat treats on his person.
  • Animals Hate Him: Even though he loves cats and offers them sardines, most cats are wary of him and refuse the treat. Talking to him while playing as Varuo reveals when he tries to get closer to Shion when he offers his treat, his legs suddenly tremble and he cannot get any closer for whatever reason. Turns out, he used to have a cat named Tama that got along well with him. However, said cat started to become afraid of Shion's strong aura after he vowed to protect Akane and start his path as the frighteningly strong samurai he is at the present.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: He's constantly exasperated by Shigure and makes more than one comment that suggests he doesn't care about him or what he gets up to. With that said, the end of Shigure's third quest where Shion waits by the gates, wanting to at least be there for his possible death confirms that yes, their friendship is mutual even if Shion's not good at showing it.
  • Childhood Friends: With Shigure. While they're not the only set of longtime friends in the game, the two of them are notably the only characters with the "Childhood Friend" personality trait assigned, and it allows them to perform an Another Force finisher together.
  • Counter-Attack: The perk of his Another Style skill "Slumbering Dragon". If his AS Manifest weapon is maxed, the skill will inflict Rage on all enemies and he will counter with fire-type slash attack when physically attacked.
  • Dual Boss: With Shigure, should you visit the Itto-ryu dojo enough times. In the rematch, Akane joins them, and he and Shigure even get a Combination Attack together.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Responsible one, according to himself and Akane.
  • Honor Before Reason: Shigure calls him out on it, pointing out that as a samurai, he's blindly dutiful to a master who doesn't deserve it.
  • Horseback Heroism: His Alternate Style comes with a horse, which he rides when using his Edged Assault attack.
  • Innocently Insensitive: He calls Aldo his only treasured friend... to Shigure's face. And then fails to understand why Shigure is miffed with him.
  • Introverted Cat Person: He's not the most sociable person around, but loves cats. He carries around sardines to give to any cats he meets.
  • Meaningful Name: His 5-star class is called Kagutsuchi, named after the Shinto spirit of fire. Fittingly, he's a physical fire DPS.
  • Morton's Fork: To disobey his master would bring shame as a samurai, but to carry out his mission to kill King Miglance would bring shame to his ancestors.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: As a samurai, he is loyal to his master, even when he gives orders that Shion would rather not follow.
  • No True Scotsman: In his book, no cat lover is an evil person. An evil person who has cats is not a true cat lover.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite generally being much more stoic than Akane or Shigure, it turns out that he has a bit of a battle-happy side to him as well. There's also his tendency to treat cats as Serious Business.
  • Only Sane Man: He's not without his quirks, but put him next to Akane and Shigure...
  • Promotion to Parent: Their parents died when Shion and Akane were young, so Shion had to grow up fast to take care of Akane.
  • The Quiet One: He's a man of few words. Aldo lampshades it in Shigure's third quest, concluding that it's a samurai thing before Shigure replies that it's more Shion being Shion.
  • Running Gag: Poor Shion offering dried sardines to the cats those he comes across, only for them refusing it every single time. Though one cat did take his treat at the end of his third character quest.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: He wears one in his AS form.
  • Skewed Priorities: In his third character quest, he's in the middle of a serious, meaningful conversation with Aldo before he interrupts it to fawn over a cat.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Despite being The Stoic, he's a caring person underneath (and openly so to cats).
  • Take a Third Option: He can't disobey his lord's orders because it would shame him and his lord, but he can't carry them because it would shame his bloodline. So he attacks King Miglance but throws the fight everytime and reports that the king overpowered him, knowing that he is too valuable to be allowed to commit Seppuku.
  • Tiger Versus Dragon: The Dragon to Shigure's Tiger, as noted in-story and represented by their 5-star portraits.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: Shion chooses "lawful", but he does try to be as "good" as he can within those confines by exploiting loopholes.
  • White Stallion: He has a horse named Snow/Shirayukinote , whom he usually lets run free. Shigure, whom he does a mounted duel with, gets a brown horse.

Other Characters

    Azami
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azami_350.png
Click here to see AS Azami
Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi (Japanese)
A female samurai who comes from a land to the east. She has traveled abroad to train in order to better protect the princess she has been assigned to guard. Though she speaks with an air of stern samurai, she's actually still quite young. When she's not concentrating, you can hear it in her speech.
  • Anti-Magic: At the start of her battle and every 5 turns after, Azami imposes a crippling INT debuff on the party, rendering the player's active mages and healers powerless. Her valor chant also reflects this, lowering all enemies' INT.
  • Defeat Means Playable: She appears at Serena Coast as an Optional Boss. Defeat her five times and she'll join your party. Aldo still has to tell her that she joins them as a friend and equal, not as his retainer.
  • Japanese Ranguage: She misspells "goblins" as "goburins" in her dialogue before one of your battles with her.
  • Master of the Mixed Message: Her second and third character quests made it clear that she fell hard for Aldo. However, her writing seemingly angry note to Aldo in her third character quest caused him to mistake her intention and thought that she is pissed off at him. Just as Aldo is finally about to give his answer when he apparently realizes what Azami has been getting at, though, she suddenly drew her katana and bans him from speaking about it any further, thus leaving the relationship status hanging in the air.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: She asks a group of goblins if they're monsters after they hold her favorite treat hostage, only for Aldo to point out that she's addressing a literal group of monsters.
  • Rush Boss: Since her attacks are exclusively single-target and her Chance Encounter HP is relatively low, it's possible to fill your team with physical Fire and Water DPS characters and aim to rush her down before too much of your party is eliminated. She also inflicts a crippling INT debuff on your party every cycle, making healers hit by it heal for next to nothing.
  • Samurai Ponytail: She wears her hair in a neat ponytail, emphasizing her noble samurai spirit.
  • Showgirl Skirt: Her kimono is open from the waist down, achieving this effect.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Azami may look all prim and proper at first glance, but as soon as her blade is drawn, she'll gladly show why she was assigned to guard a princess.
  • Sweet Tooth: Her second character quest has her getting very fired up over the shipment of some sweets going missing. This quirk also lets her perform a combination attack with other characters with similar tastes.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Mitarashi Dango. Her second and third quests show how seriously she takes them. Stealing them is considered punishable by death.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Very well-mannered and elegant? Check. Respectable? Check. Deadly with a katana? Check.

    Heena
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101020121_base.png
Voiced by: Yōko Hikasa (Japanese)
A puppet given life by a craftsmen in the East. She used to be merely an inanimate object, but after a certain incident, she developed her own consciousness and began to refer herself as the Puppet Princess. She acts with the nobility of that name, but she sometimes acts recklessly due to the fact that she feels neither hunger nor pain. When it comes to battle, she uses her frame-like body to employ a multitude of dark weapons against her enemies.

    Hozuki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101050091_base.png
Click here to see AS Hozuki
Voiced by: Saori Goto (Japanese), Haruka Kuroda (English)
An elegant woman who comes from the East. Her ears and tail have become living beings after being possessed by spirits. When she uses the power of those spirits, nine tails appear from the fires of the spirits. The white tail has the finest texture, but only those who she really likes can touch it. She manages a hole-in-the-wall tavern for the time being, but she seems to be searching for something.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Downplayed. Aldo being Aldo, he considers Hozuki as his friend, but he is also exasperated at her very forward advances while at the same time he is also unaware of her crush on him.
  • Demonic Possession: Her ears and tail manifest from Yoko, a fox spirit that has cursed her family and inhabits her body. There have been instances in the past where Yoko completely takes over Hozuki's body and runs amok.
  • Injured Vulnerability: Her Hundred Fire Revolt skill strengthens with each unique debuff inflicted on its target.
  • Mighty Glacier: Compared to other bow users, Hozuki's very slow, but also has better defensive stats and packs a bigger punch. Her Double-Edged Curse lowers her speed even further but weakens all enemies.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: She is very terrified of Empress Garneli due to her running away to Migleina continent while still leaving quite a number of debt towards Garneli, so much that she tries to hide behind Aldo when Garneli appears. Ironically, this is exactly why Garneli likes Hozuki in her own way and considers her trustworthy, as Hozuki doesn't try to hide or sugarcoat what she thinks of her unlike many of her subjects who try to constantly get on her good side for their own ends.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl and Shameless Fanservice Girl: Zigzags between the two in her Another Style quest, and doubles as Skewed Priorities. Ironically, despite her constant teasing, she is incredibly embarrassed of her Another Style dress, so much that she'd rather not wear it especially in front of Aldo. On the other hand, she has no problems cranking up her teasing to him, down to booking the hot springs in Land of Ro just for the two of them and has no problems joining Aldo in the male bath despite his protests.
  • Super Mode: Her Another Style form allows her to turn into Crimson Fox Spirit form that makes her skill to pack bigger punch while it is active. However, it expires after three turns, or if she uses Alluring Change in said form to unleash a very powerful single-target attack.
  • The Tease: She's very openly flirtatious with Aldo, and she's also used her charms to her own benefit offscreen.
  • Work Off the Debt: Her family has been cursed by Yoko after her ancestors attempted to steal one of Yoko's prized possessions. Hozuki has an astronomical debt to Yoko, and she runs her tavern to pay it off.
  • Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: At the end of her third character quest, Hozuki is seemingly relieved of her possession by letting Yoko return to her prized jewel. She then reveals that this was just one of 108 embodiments of Yoko, and each would be placated by reclaiming their own prized possession. That jewel was the ninth so far.

    Komachi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/komachi_2.png
Voiced by: Natsumi Hioka (Japanese)
A daughter from a warrior family in a country in the east. A curious and rambunctious girl, Komachi's martial arts are renowned, equal to her family. She left her home to escape an arranged marriage.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Her sprite and use of a naginata gives this vibe, even if she's too rebellious to actually be one.

    Lingli
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lingli.png
Voiced by: Rie Kugimiya (Japanese)
A lively Kung Fu master from across the sea, Lingli spends her days and nights looking for her missing father. She has a collection of stuffed animals from him that she treasures more than anything. Her frank personality belies her graceful martial arts.
  • Chinese Girl: Qipao? Check. Odango? Check. Kung-fu practicioner? Check.
  • Jiggle Physics: Her breasts notably bounce often, and especially apparent in story scenes involving her in Part 2.

    Myunfa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/101070091_base.png
Voiced by: Ai Nonaka (Japanese), Emma Ballantine (English)
A mysterious kettle spirit who grants three wishes to whomever it considers their master. While they are normally sealed inside their teakettles, Myunfa can freely go outside her teakettle at will and move about as she likes. Other than the sealed teakettle, she carries around a second teakettle that she uses as a weapon. When her teakettle is lightly touched, she gets a little ticklish.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: While Aldo's lack of worldly desire (to the point of having difficulties coming up with his first wish for Myunfa) annoys Myunfa at first, she eventually fell for him since none of her masters (or any kettle spirits' masters in her knowledge, for that matter) had ever sought to fulfill a kettle spirit's wish.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Shows some shades of this in her second character quest, as she goes all sulky and regularly turns into teakettle while Aldo tries to help the woman who is asking for their help to bring her dead boyfriend, and calls him "ladies-man".
  • Critical Hit Class: One of her most potent skills gives the whole party automatic critical hits for their next attack. If her Earth Zone is in effect, it also increases critical hit damage.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Myunfa's second character quest reveals that she used to be a human who was a Sole Survivor of an avalanche befalling her village, and she became a kettle spirit to eventually revive the dead villagers. While that wish was eventually fulfilled, she also became forgotten by everyone the moment she became a kettle spirit.
  • Happiness in Slavery: Myunfa ultimately chose to stick with Aldo as her master at the end of her quest, though she refuses to grant any of his wishes after their contract is renewed until he realizes her feelings for him.
  • Improbable Weapon User: While gameplay-wise she is classified as Hammer wielder, story-wise Myunfa uses her teakettle to whack on her enemies.
  • Locked into Strangeness: Myunfa's third character quest reveals that as human, she has naturally dark hair color, but changes into purple-ish when turning into kettle spirit for unknown reasons.
  • Loophole Abuse: Humans aren't allowed to make contract with the same kettle spirit twice, but there is no rule banning a kettle spirit to choose the same master again. This is how she saved Aldo after he is fatally stabbed by one of Genshin's underlings in her third character quest and being forced to turn into human - since she had yet to use her third wish towards the kettle spirit that transformed her in the first place, she used said last wish to turn herself back into a kettle spirit once again and re-forge a contract with Aldo to save him.
  • Parasol of Prettiness: She uses one in her AS costume.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Her second character quest reveals that Myunfa is at least 1000 years old, and in her first quest alone she estimated that it had been 300 years since she last came to Unigan.
  • Rule of Three: As kettle spirit, she can only grant three wishes for each of her master before their contract ends.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Averted. Aldo tries to use his first wish to let him see Eden again, but alas, if she could do that, then there would be no need for a story. Myunfa even notes that while it's possible for her masters to make any wish, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be granted.
  • Unperson: She became forgotten by her family and the residents of the village she came from the moment she became a kettle spirit.
  • Was Once a Man: Myunfa was a regular human before becoming a kettle spirit, and turned into one with the help of another to fulfill her own wish to revive the dead villagers of her hometown.

    Tsubame

Click here to see AS Tsubame
Voiced by: Chiwa Saitō (Japanese), Ruby Thomas (English)

A girl who serves as a shinobi for one of the large Eastern nations. For some reason she has distanced herself from her family and travels the world with just the clothes on her back. Since she was just a small girl she has dedicated herself to her studies. It is rumored that the numerous techniques created from her remarkable senses could shake the ninja system. The cat named Suzume that she brings around has a peculiar preference for valuable things. Tsubame calls it her "little sister"...

  • Big Eater: She eats a ton of food whenever she gets the chance because her jutsu take a lot of energy.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Knows of a means to summon the Sorcerous Supreme, a mighty force capable of stopping the invading Jiraiya Fortress. It consumes the life of the person who uses it, and Tsubame proposes she performs it with Kamome so that it only takes half of each twin's life force.
  • Forced Transformation: Suzume was originally human, and is cursed into a cat form, but that's not the end of it. She'll also transform into a monster later, and Tsubame ran from her clan because she refused to put Suzume down.
  • Go Look At The Distraction: Her "Stealth Jutsu" is basically shouting "Look behind you" before either hiding (but failing) or striking her enemies down with a shuriken.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: She can be differentiated from her twin sister Kamome by hairstyle — Kamome has her hair braided.
  • Money Fetish: Suzume loves coins. After Suzume transforms into a monster, Tsubame makes it rain (fake) gold coins, which prompts Suzume to turn back into a cat.

Voiced by: Mai Aizawa (Japanese), Arina Ii (English)
A former princess of a bygone Eastern country, Tsukiha can turn any blade she wields into a weapon that curses enemies. She's cold and logical, believing the ends always justify the means. Within her lies a fury for the ones who destroyed her country and cursed her with these powers, seeking revenge.
  • Archnemesis Dad: Her target of revenge? Her father. It turns out that her mother was worse.
  • Bow and Sword in Accord: Her NS and AS forms use a sword, while her ES form uses a bow. It's explained that she was originally taught in archery by Suzaku, who didn't think she, as a princess, should be fighting on the front lines. In her ES quest, she even has a sprite in her NS form wielding a bow.
  • Due to the Dead: Don't even think about reactivating Jiraiya Fortress, considering it's Suzaku's resting place.
  • Fallen Princess: She's the surviving princess of Ro, a now mostly decimated country.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: In her first quest, she initially refuses to help a man in need of help and is ready to walk by, until he mentions that it's his child who needs saving. Then she stops and listens, after which she also goes out of her way to give medical advice to the injured man. This moment quite succinctly sums up the kind of person Tsukiha is.
  • Horned Humanoid: In her AS and ES forms, marking her as someone from the Land of Ro.
  • In the Hood: She wears gigantic white hood based on wataboshi, the white hood usually worn by Japanese women during Shinto wedding ceremony.
  • Kill the Ones You Love: She and Suzaku were once close, but as she recognizes that he's gone too far, she's one of the characters who temporarily joins Aldo and co. on their quest to take him down.
  • Psychometry: She can read the memories of weapons and uses this ability to track down the target of her revenge.
  • Red Right Hand: A literal case, even if she's not evil, just very angry.
  • Revenge: Her raison d'ĂȘtre since the destruction of her country.
  • Revenge Before Reason: A theme in her quests. For the most part, Tsukiha doesn't ascribe to the notion—choosing instead to swear vengeance only against those directly responsible—and it's what puts her at odds with Suzaku's Roaring Rampage of Revenge.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The bow in her Extra Style is a memento, hence why she switched to the sword and never touched the bow since the Land of Ro fell.

Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi (Japanese)
A most mysterious girl who can switch at will between the form of a human girl and that of a snowman. She usually acts cool on the outside, but she's actually all warm and fuzzy on the inside. She treasures a carrot that she received from a girl long ago in a snowy village. Now, she waits every day for the chance to meet her once again.
  • Beneath the Mask: She tries to present herself as cool, if almost unfeeling—since when she gets emotional (and as it turns out, she gets emotional easily), she melts.
  • Blue Means Cold: Her snow and ice associations are clear from her all white and blue design alone.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: The final hit of Ultra Yuki-snowgirl. To pull it off though, Yukino needs to sit in the frontline for 3 consecutive turns and cannot take a single hit. Pulling it off, however, results in a nuclear 6000% MOD AoE attack with Yukino's INT doubled.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Despite her embarrassment over her true, easily flustered nature, Aldo tells Yukino that he likes that side of her.
  • Full Health Bonus: A weird case - more like don't get hit bonus. Ultra Yuki-snowgirl doubles her INT and hits first with a powerful 1500% Mod, then a devastating 3000% Mod, then a nuclear 6000% - the highest in the game. There is a catch: After casting, Yukino turns into a snowgirl and cannot attack, retreat, be buffed or debuffed or be harmed and if she gets hit, she will revert.
  • My Greatest Failure: Subverted. Her third character quest has her fail to deliver a snowman's dying wish, as the recipient of his message turns out to be long dead, and he passes away wrongly believing Yukino would succeed. She's torn up by the guilt... and then a new snowman with suspiciously specific circumstances pops up.
  • No-Sell: One advantage of her snowgirl form is that while she cannot attack, she won't actually take damage if hit either.
  • Oblivious to Love: Despite the strawmen blatantly flirting with her, she doesn't realize what they want until they spell out how they want to marry her, at which point she panics.
  • Snowlems: Of the Cute Monster Girl variety.
  • Unwanted Harem: Her second quest deals with a gender inverted example. The quest involves her trying to reject Strawboy and the strawmen competing for her affection.
