Ichigo is a cheerful girl who at first had no interest in idols until she went to see the live performance of Mizuki Kanzaki. Convinced by her best friend Aoi, she took the Starlight Entrance Exam in order to become an idol herself. She is a talented, cute-type idol who was shown with a decent amount of Beginner's Luck at the start of series. She uses the brand Angely Sugar.

• Action Girl: By this point, she's the second biggest in the series by far, wielding axes and riding orcas like an action film’s protagonist.
• Adaptation Dye-Job: In the novel, Ichigo has brown eyes.
• Animal-Eared Headband: Ichigo has been shown with bunny ear and cat ear accessories for a few outfits.
• Bad Liar: Ichigo is all but capable of lying, and the only way she can stop from blurting out a secret is to keep her mouth too stuffed with food to talk period.
• Beginner's Luck: She managed to pull off a Special Appeal during her very first performance.
• Big Eater: Oh so very much. This is a trait she inherited from her father. Apparently, she also has quite the sensitive palate, being able to distinguish between different types of rice and how it was cooked with just one bite, or determine a macaroon’s flavor.

They are shown to have steady friendship throughout the series, and he'd often offer her advice and go along with her ideas no matter how ridiculous they'd seem.
• The Klutz: She has her moments.
• The Leader: Of Soleil, on the courtesy of being the protagonist.
• Like Mother, Like Daughter: Her mother Ringo used to be an idol, and her aura is composed of primrose flowers, similar to Ichigo's.

  • Ichigo is translated to "Strawberry", a fruit associated usually with the color pink. This also fits with her mother's name Ringo (Apple) and brother Raichi (Lychee).
  • The "Hoshi" in her last name means star. This is referenced by Johnny-sensei who calls her "Star-miya" and Mizuki who once noted that Ichigo was "a natural-born star". This also refers to Ichigo becoming the "sun" as the sun is also a star.
• My Music Shines Brighter Than Yours: With Seira during their Face-Off after she retuned from America.
• Obsessed with Food: Every now and then. This is a running gag throughout the series, since there isn't a single dish she dislikes, and she has a humongous appetite.
• Pink Heroine: Although she has a red bow seen on her no matter what she wears, many of her outfits give her pink as a main motif color, and indeed the Stage Coord she chooses in the beginning of the show is the Pink version.
• Pink Means Feminine: Even though her personality may spell otherwise, Ichigo’s outfits are very girly and obviously cute. She also displays some of the feminine traits, such as her ability to cook.
• Platonic Declaration of Love: Her song from the movie, Radiant Etude, was this to Mizuki, the person she admires.

An intelligent girl with an encyclopedic knowledge about all things relating to idols. She is the childhood friend of Ichigo and the one who convinced her to become an idol. She is an actress and cool-type idol who uses the brand Futuring Girl.

• Absurdly High-Stakes Game: Became involved in one after she and Ran overheard Orihime tell someone that she would quit being the headmistress of Starlight Academy if Aoi lost the upcoming Face-Off. Due to the pressure and stress of this, Aoi had Ichigo take her place at the last minute.
• Birds of a Feather: With Kī Saegusa. They both share an interest in idols together and often trade information with one another, and becomes each other’s partner in the Partners Cup.
• Boring, but Practical: Her personal dilemma in Episode 71.

It was revealed that she got the best score out of around 1000 people on the test about past idols for the entrance exam into Starlight School, having answered every question correctly.

Ran Shibuki

She is a close friend and classmate of Ichigo and Aoi who carries an air of professionalism about her. She is a sexy-type idol who uses the brand Spicy Ageha.

A cute and energetic girl who believes in the power of "Love You!". She is the former Starlight Queen and the leader of the popular unit Powapowa-Puririn. She is pop-type idol and loves rainbows. She uses the brand Happy Rainbow.

As of Season 2, Otome is the new Starlight Queen following Mizuki's departure from the school.

The talented daughter in a family of Kabuki Theater performers. Normally very soft-spoken and shy, Sakura sometimes breaks into the theatrical performance known as Kitaoji Theater when experiencing strong emotions. After being inspired by Mizuki, Sakura enrolled in Starlight Academy using the cute-type brand, Aurora Fantasy.

But even then you shouldn't take that demeanor lightly. In Season 3 she's actually called this by fellow Yamato Nadeshiko exchange student, Miyabi Fujiwara.

Kaede Ichinose

"Ladies and gentlemen, let's Aikatsu!"

Ladies and gentlemen, let's Aikatsu with the American Super Idol, Kaede Ichinose! Kaede is the daughter of the owner of a high-class American Sushi Chain called Kaede Sushi. She's friendly and passionate and has a fascination for magic tricks. She's a pop-type idol who uses the brand Magical Toy.
