Pete's entry is getting a bit of Wiki Schizophrenia, in particular the recent addition saying he was the Big Bad followed not very long after by an addition of "Zig-Zagged" to the Hate Sink and Abusive Parents examples.
My thoughts:
- Pete isn't the Big Bad because he doesn't cause an overarching conflict for the plot as a whole and isn't always shown to be a villain.
- I don't know if "mitigated by very infrequent intentionally sympathetic moments" is enough to push Pete into Zig-Zagged for Hate Sink rather than being a straight or maybe downplayed example.
- Abusive Parents is a straight example, not a Zig-Zagged one. Abusive parents aren't required to be actively abusive in every episode to qualify, especially if it's a consistent pattern, nor are they required to abuse all of their children equally.
- Agreed. Due to the episodic nature of this show, I don't think it really has a traditional Big Bad.
- Valid point. I was aiming for a more concise word than 'somewhat', and 'downplayed' is probably the most fitting term for this entry.
- Another good point. The revision for this entry was transplanted from Pete's main character page, because it was more detailed, and if it's necessary it can always be rewritten or reverted.
Jerkass Has a Point
In Goofy Movie, when Max had every right to call Goofy out for forcing him to go on a vacation the former didn’t want to go on, was it after Lester’s Possum Park or when the two got in a fight?

- Flanderization: Pete isn't nearly as cold towards PJ in the TV show as he is in the movies. TV Pete may have been strict, but he still seemed to care about his son. Movie Pete shows no genuine affection towards PJ at all, and seems to regard close relationships between a father and son, in general, as unhealthy. His relationship with Goofy seems to be a lot better, however, and he's much less overtly spiteful.

, but I don't think it's correctly assessed because it has more to do with screentime than a change in character and nothing Pete does in A Goofy Movie is new.
Removed Impossible Hourglass Figure from Beret Girl.
Beret Girl has an hourglass figure, but it's a more subtle and realistic one than the one that Peg has: her waist is only slightly narrower than her bust and hips.
Reasons for deletion given on Goof Troop's discussion page, but I
- don't remember Peg actually having Absolute Cleavage
- know the trope is often misused for "any cleavage." Absolute Cleavage also involves underboob.
Tsundere was added to Peg, but with only a type label. Type Labels Are Not Examples so I visited the Tsundere page to see what a "Type B" was, and it seemed to perfectly describe what her Beware the Nice Ones entry mentioned.
The thing is, I'd been thinking Beware the Nice Ones wasn't an exact fit for her, because that trope is typically for characters you wouldn't expect to be aggressive at all, as an occasional occurrence. So someone like PJ would absolutely fit, but someone like Peg probably wouldn't because it happens too often and isn't as much of a contrast.
This variation of Tsundere encapsulates what the Beware the Nice Ones entry was trying and failing to perfectly, so I just transplanted the context from Beware the Nice Ones to Tsundere and removed Beware the Nice Ones.

Mostly I was just editing out Word Cruft I myself put there and some, but not all, of the "immediately answer yourself rhetorical question" formatted entries. There were a few other edits I made:
- I added The Ditz to Goofy's list
- I added Bumbling Dad to Pete's, because not everything that goes wrong for his family that's his fault is the direct result of malice, speaking of which...
- I realize the entry under It's All About Me was even more biased/hyperbolic before it was edited, but since the new entry was more concrete, I thought it prudent to mention that Pete doesn't physically injure PJ intentionally—when it occurs it's a side-effect of something else. Thank you for helping me keep my dysphemistic language in check—we really are on the same page about what happens (or close enough); I just instinctively describe it in worse terms. However, that being said...
- When the Pot Hole to Abusive Parents was edited out of The Chew Toy's entry, the sentence looked imbalanced and the Jerkass pothole wasn't directly connected to a verb, so I just re-potholed that whole phrase to Jerkass. No real reason they had to be separated anyway.
- I added Adorkable to PJ's list.
- I removed Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass from his list and all references to it because I've come to realize watching the whole series he's not an example. He's Book Dumb but not much else, and the question of his competence isn't really a question at all.
- I changed some of the tropes on his list to be clearer and/or less redundant/wordy.
- Pete's existence has to do with PJ not being able to catch a break, yes, but it doesn't really have anything to do with his specific role as No-Respect Guy that wasn't already covered under the other points.
- I expanded the context for a few examples, especially of the Deadpan Snarker variety. Also, PJ needed more credit in that area. Maybe I'll edit the main entry too.
- I edited Stacey's Hollywood Nerd description because Type I doesn't exist anymore as it was decided it was redundant with Nerd; Type II is the only type.
- I added a spoiler tag to Bradley's Dick Dastardly Stops to Cheat entry so it would be consistent with the movie page.
- And lastly but not leastly, there were a few grammar errors I fixed.
I fixed the broken/missing images as best as I could, but there may have been some lost in the shuffle. Weren't there pictures of Goofy and Max in An Extremely Goofy Movie before?
