Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I'm unfamiliar with the video game so I can't give direct advice to whether they fit or not, but you can always run stuff by the Is This An Example thread to see if the tropes apply and if you've worded things correctly.
My two cents: remember that examples are not general, any kind of "he does this alot" statements are no good. Make the examples concise, they convey enough information to get the point across, not so much that you ramble on and on.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meThis Is a Wiki, you cannot ask people to add examples for you. Chances are no one reading this thread knows as much about that work as you do, so you are the best person to write the example. Everything needed for examples are already there, all you have to do is apply the guidelines in How to Write an Example to what you know.
I know, it's just that during my time coursing through this site and its many contents, I guess I just feel... overwhelmed by how near-impeccable the writing, the organisation and the wit of this site is. I guess I'm trying to say that I feel a little out of my depth being in awe of TV Tropes.
Don't be so hard on yourself. The wiki's not always impeccable - just look at some of the entries and tropes that get talked about on Ask The Tropers and the forums. ;P
As for your entries, the latter two seem valid, but I'm unsure about Manchild only because wisecracking doesn't seem inherently childish. Playing pretend as "Spider-Cop" (if I'm correct from what I looked up) sounds very childish though, so maybe it just needs better phrasing. I also agree with laserviking that the Pop-Cultured Badass entry can be consolidated to just refer to how Peter's a superhero who makes contemporary jokes a lot, and maybe mention just a few of the things Peter references for context.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
Hey, guys, I realise that this message is more appropriate in a videogame forum or the like, which is where I did originally send it, but I have decided to post it here as well since I have not been garnering any responses from the videogame's forum.
So I recently added some tropes which I think apply to Insomniac's Spider-Man, Manchild, Motor Mouth, Pop-Cultured Badass and Thou Shall Not Kill, onto his folder, but can't expand upon them (as I'm a relatively inexperienced editor and have yet to write up my first official example), so if someone could please maybe write up something on my behalf, I'd very much appreciate it.
To get anyone going, here's some info you can consider and use when writing up some descriptions for these tropes.
So that's that. I hope you more experienced and talented editors can cook up something special with all this info. Write however way you want, I'm just the guy supplying some background info, which I hope will be useful. :)
