During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Also there was a bit of an error in CM Incarnations Per Character. Quan Chi doesn't appear in the game series first his first appearance was Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm, I went ahead and fixed that.

While I'm finding out everything I can for my Skyrim character here's one from a minor character from Dragon Quest
What is the Work
Dragon Quest IX is the ninth entry of the Dragon Quest franchise. You follow a Celestrian who fell into the mortal world after being struck by mysterious beams of light from down below. The character I'm proposing though is found post-game in the DQVC which added multiple bonus content, except now it's Permanently Missable Content unless you use a hack. The character I'm proposing is the first boss you'll encounter-Yore.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
Yore is a demon (and also a Palette Swap of two other bosses in the game.) 300 years ago, Yore made a pact with the King of Stornway that he'll protect his kingdom from the Gittish Empire (the main antagonistic faction behind the third arc in the base game) for a price. The king offered his neighbouring kingdom Brigadoom in which Yore then laid siege to in a single night, leaving the kingdom in ruins (you end up in the kingdom's ruins during the second story phase of the main story so there's no offscreen villainy here.) along with his minion Morag. Morag however fell infatuated with the Wight Knight and had him and her sealed within the ruins until the earthquake happened and released him from her spell.
The King of Stornway, fearing Yore would then turn on his kingdom, had him sealed in a coffin under his coffin for 300 years.Horrified with what he's done, the king vanished all traces of the events that transpired. Sealed, Yore then plagued Stornway's current ruler King Shcott with nightmares to try and coax him to rerelease him. When Shcott's daughter Simona discovers what happened, she has a massive breakdown and tries to release Yore to have him take Stornway for the price of restoring Brigadoom. Yore denies the request before announcing he's going to slaughter everyone in Stornway and leave the kingdom in ruins like he did with Brigadoom before moving on to going on a genocidal spree to wipe out all mortals. A fight ensues with the player finally beating Yore, leaving him to scream "Impossible!" before dying.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Agency isn't an issue for monsters in the series since they are shown to be capable of being allies so.
Yore has an established personality with a sadistic streak as he recalls wiping out Brigadoom as a pleasure, so it wasn't just him taking a job. Him being imprisoned and wanting to wipe out Stornway as revenge could be seen as being backstabbed? Well in Yore's Bestiary, it says he had a contract with the Gittish Empire to originally wipe out Stornway and then help them with slaughtering the rest of the world so Stornway's King had a justified reason fearing Yore will turn on them.
When released he doesn't ask about Morag so there's no care for her and she didn't care for releasing him either so their partnership was based on their love for destruction. And he acts of his own volition since he intended on wiping out all life when released, when the empire had been stopped again so he's not some simple strong flunky for them.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Well he wiped out an entire kingdom and took pleasure in it so that's baseline standard sorted out. He then was intending to go on a genocidal spree after being released, starting with Stornway before moving onto the rest of the planet. Problem is? There's already an Omnicidal Maniac in the game, the Big Bad Corvus is also intending to do the same. Only difference? Corvus has a hell of a Trauma Conga Line (thinking he's been betrayed by a human he cared for then tortured and left in a cell for 300 years by the Gittish Empire, causing a very justified hatred of mortals.) and he evens accepts peace when he realised that his actions were misguided and he was never betrayed by the girl he cared for. Yore? No such excuse for his actions. Comparing to Godwyn is a bit unfair because Godwyn has an entire empire to carry out his deeds and has other crimes under belt, not the omnicidal mania like Yore does.
Final Verdict?
Tentative overall to be honest and it won't hurt me if he doesn't make it since he's a character from a limited service on a DS game.

I listened to an audio version of X-Men novel from 2007, where aliens want to destroy humanity. But the aliens are a group, ruled by a council of 7, who mostly communicated by telepathy to one of their slaves who expresses their will verbally. Their army is made up of slaves, so they don't count and the aliens seem too ill defined.
But now I am listening to a Black Carnary audio book, a YA dystopian novel, where Gotham City is worse then normal.

Tbf, Wet also lists a pretty notable resource gap between the two and his crimes do seem bad enough on their own. I am stupid I misread the proposal though I would suggest refraining from including stuff about redeeming traits in the heinous standard section.

Well Corvus resurrects the Gittish empire so thats a mass resurrection and has the strength to even strike the realm of the almighty, where that version of God (top capital G god) and has the strength to warp his realm to his liking and even the other celestrians can't fight him due to his strength being superior.
