For Flowey, I say move the Foul Flower pothole in his name (Flowey). Also keep Jerry, Word of God states he's an asshole.

Done. Though I'm having trouble with rewriting the Jerry example to have more context in a way that's stylistically consistent with the wiki. Do we have a source on Toby Fox saying Jerry is the only character "with no good in him"?

I know Toby Fox tweeted that, though I’m not sure if said tweet is still around.

The YMMV page may need a look at. For example: the Hype Backlash entry has six sub bullets (one of them has two more sub bullets leading to eight) it needs a trim down.

Yeah. I made a few edits on that page in the past. Honestly, ALL the pages need cleanup.

Let's see... At first glance:

• The first bullet point talks about three different subjects; first is about story vs gameplay, second is the handling of the "killing is bad" Aesop, and third is that all reviewers recommend playing the game before reading the review, and that it's hard to play it blind due to the spoiler issue. Unfortunately, the last part doesn't really explain the "backlash" bit.
• Second bullet point is fine, it's about fans spamming Undertale memes, and how agressive they are in doing so
• The third bullet point is an expansion on the above, particularly among let's players. Honestly, it seems fine, and the sub-bullets, though lengthy, are legitimate examples of influential creators.
• Megalovania entry is legitimate, I have seen numerous such comments myself.
• The last bullet point is basically the same as the second. They should be merged.

Shotoman removed a number of entries from SNKBoss.Other Games with the edit reason "A non-competative boss is not an SNK Boss, even when it's hard, cheap, or mechanically odd. Yes, this includes Sans." Does this mean that all wicks and potholes to SNK Boss in Undertale pages should be removed?

It means that the trope only applies to games that have PvP as a major component, such as fighting games.

You guys all know the TRICK or YEET meme? I was thinking that eventually we'd have to clean up the memes page, and my mind went to that. Technically, it started from that "saying a lot as Sans", video, which is mainly focused on Undertale, but the human in it was Kris from Deltarune.

Does this make it an Undertale or Deltarune meme?

UPDATE: I went to the "Is this an example thread" to address dubious use of some examples in Undertale.Tropes A.

In addition, I completely rewrote the Assimilation Backfire example. Check out if it's good enough.

• Assimilation Backfire: It happens three times, all with the same character.
  • In the backstory, Asriel says that when he absorbed Chara's soul, they both were able to control his body. Chara had wretched control from him until the humans attacked them, at which point Asriel managed to get his control back, refused to fight back and died because of his injuries. This makes it a twofer example, as Chara's plans were completely spoiled as a result, but Asriel died as a result of their combined actions.
  • In the fight against Omega Flowey, he absorbs the six human souls and gains god-like power, removing the player's ability to access their save files, and even getting impossible stats and getting the ability to use Save States. However, Frisk can ask the human souls for help, and they turn against him and heal Frisk, resulting in Flowey's defeat.
  • The True Final Boss of the Golden Ending also falls victim to this, but in a... decisively odd way. Instead of the assimilation of the human souls and all monster souls in the Underground harming him in some way, it restored his ability to have feelings, and thus his compassion. The result is that he simply doesn't want to go through with the plan anymore.

I took a few more tropes to "Is this an example?" for some second opinions on tropes that don't require spoilers for context. Edit: Got some answers back thanks to Tropers/Synchronicity. They are as follows:

The way I see it, Animeland might need some more work, Bag of Holding isn't exaggerated enough to be labeled as such, Beginner's Luck either needs a rewrite to mention how OP humans are in the setting or be cut, Beware the Quiet Ones needs more context on the type of Heroic Mime the player character is, and It Makes Sense in Context needs to be cut. Does anyone else have an opinion?

I agree with all the above. I'll also go make the necessary edits to my rewritten example and replace it.

The question is whether or not to keep some examples on the main page.

Accuser of the Brethren, Allegorical Character and Authority in Name Only are only about one character each, but they are major plot elements. Keep them on the main page or not?

I vote we put them on their character pages for the sake of consistency.

I'll wait for a few more answers. Besides, basically all the remaining tropes on the A part need some discussion. I'm not sure if some of these - like Added Alliterative Appeal or Animeland can even be put on character pages.

Aight, here’s my thoughts:

Aggressive Categorism: Keep it, we can definitely think of more examples.

Allegorical Character: 99% sure Chara is the only example.

Animal Motifs: Yeah, definitely misuse.

Anti-Frustration Features: I was the one to rewrite this in the first place. The current examples seem good to me, but I’ll leave shortening this to a better writer than me.

Apology Gift: Pretty sure it’s misuse.

Arrogant God vs. Raging Monster: Not quite sure about this one, but I’m leaning towards misuse.

Associated Composer: This seems like it should be Trivia, but it doesn’t have the Trivia tag. Not sure.

Author Catchphrase: Seems more like Arc Words to me.

Author Usurpation: Again, it seems like a YMMV trope, but it doesn’t have the tag. Not sure.

• Apology Gift is definitely misuse since most examples involve objects being given rather than an experience.
• Arrogant God vs. Raging Monster is misuse because the trope describes the nature of a rivalry with multiple confrontations involved. The Genocide Undyne fight is the first and only time she and the player character confront each other.
• Associated Composer should go to Trivia since it's a subtrope of a Trivia trope, even though it itself isn't under the Trivia namespace.
• Author Catchphrase is misuse; its example is already under Arc Words. Cut.
• Author Usurpation is tricky since it's listed on Tropes Needing TRS and discussion about the trope is divided on how it should be fixed. For simplicity's sake, we should either cut or comment it out and revisit once it goes through TRS.

For the record, I was the one who brought up Author Usurpation to the TRS; I mentioned it in the thread. Same for Associated Composer.

I have deleted a couple of stuff from Anti-Frustration Features, but honestly the whole example seems perfectly legitimate.

TheTrueHero cleaned out the longer-winded and questionable examples from Anti-Frustration Features at the beginning of January. What's left is solid, though the Mettaton example can be rewritten into a more general "if you die, pre-boss cutscenes are either cut short or can be skipped" example.
