On this site, I've often ran into the problem of not being able to find anything from a giant list of examples on a trope page because it wasn't alphabetically ordered (this is a bigger problem with example pages because they are so large). This can also cause the problem of duplicate works on the same example section, because a work couldn't easily be found.
Even though I'm a rather disorganized person by nature (my parents told me this all the time), I'm still bothered by the lack of A-Z ordering. I have been ordering some example pages A-Z and I've wondering, has this been a problem for anyone else? Is anyone else bothered by a lack of alphabetization on some pages?
If so, please link me some of those pages so I can reorder them when I feel like doing so.
UPDATE 2/28/22- Check Out Sandbox- Alphabetically Ordering Examples Clean Up
Alphabetizing special cases:
- El Goonish Shive: Place in "E".
- .hack and related articles: Ignore the dot, place in "H".
- ×××HOLiC: Place in "X".
Once examples on a page have been alphabetized, this tag can be added to the top:

Delete Forbush Man, put it under DC Comics and alphabetize as D?

Sounds good. One more question, if it's alright. There's these two entries under Live-Action TV:
- Any roughly humanoid Muppet like Scooter or Dr. Teeth falls into this category. While Kermit, Fozzie, or Piggy may experience special or unfair treatment due to being animals, there's never any indication that "human" Muppets are not simply short, goofy humans. The 2011 film played with this the most: Walter and Gary are brothers, despite the former being a Muppet and the latter a normal human; it's finally lampshaded with the song "Man Or Muppet?"
- The same goes for most "human" (as opposed to animal or other) puppets, like Charlie McCarthy or Howdy Doody.
I'm not sure where to put the second example, because "the same goes" part kind of connects it to the first, but again, there's not a specific work it's tied to.
You can cut that as a general example. Those aren't allowed.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think the first example should be under Franchise. The Muppets. As for the second example maybe comment it out as there isn’t a specific media source or delete it because I am pretty sure general examples aren’t allowed anyways.

Macron's notesThanks for all the help. Ambiguously Human was already nearly finished, but I moved around the few stragglers and fixed the examples as you guys suggested.
How would you handle the sorting on this one?
- Simon R. Green loves this trope:
- Hawk and Fisher stories feature the titular couple, a pair of captains of the City Guard.
- The Nightside is home to Guile Hero John Taylor and his More Dakka-addicted ally Shotgun Suzie. Where her overwhelming firepower doesn't suffice, his dirty tricks and unique Gift can tip the odds.
- Secret Histories features Eddie Drood and Molly Metcalf, a Magitek Powered Armor secret agent and the Witch of the Wild Woods.
- Deathstalker has futuristic Super-Soldier Owen Deathstalker & Hazel d'Ark, as well Jack Random and Ruby Journey.
It's on BattleCouple.Literature, which is otherwise separated by work title...
(And yes that last one needs to be split into two bullets, and then probably commented out as ZCE)

Put it under G, I guess?
I can certainly do that. What I was getting at was "Should I keep the grouping under the creator name", as each referenced work is a separate series by that author.
Since it's apparently a staple trope of the author, there's value in having a bullet point to note that. In turn, it would probably make more sense to have the works listed under that bullet point to provide context to it.
Okay, that does make sense. Thank You.
Invisible Wall is completely unalphabetized and also lacks folders.
Kirby is awesome.BattleCouple.Literature alphabetized. That's hard when not all entries lead with the work... Of course, there were a few duplicates and ZC Es, etc.
I've foldered the page and will try to get around to alphabetizing it tonight.
Alphabetized Bystander Syndrome
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?Hi,
This is actually a major pet peeve of mine when browsing/editing the wiki. I'd love to help with the cleanup (been wanting to get more involved for a while), but I have a few questions:
What's the best approach, ( folder by folder, or one huge edit? If it's the latter, copying the page source and drafting in a plain text editor to avoid hitting the time limit seems like a good idea. Would that be okay?
And did a sandbox for pages in need of alphabetization ever get made? It was mentioned earlier, but I can't see a link in this thread and nothing comes up on the search.
When life gives you lemons... ...go murder a clown.the time limit just means someone else can edit it now. Theoretically they could overwrite your edit, but in practice it doesn't mean much
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?Best practice is to do it in a sandbox, rather than an off-site text editor.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWould that need to be a new sandbox for each trope page being alphabetized or just one?
(Sorry for spamming questions, I just don't want to go charging in and make a big old mess for other people to clean up.)
When life gives you lemons... ...go murder a clown.I mean, it really depends on how you want to handle it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo either would be okay?
When life gives you lemons... ...go murder a clown.Yeah.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessGot it. Soon I shall alphabetize the hell out of some pages (instead of just tweaking small mistakes in the section I'm adding an example to). Thank you!
When life gives you lemons... ...go murder a clown.Hard Mode Filler needs both alphabetization and foldering as well. The folderization can be done by genre.
Same with Clandestine Cover

On the Ambiguously Human page under the Comics folder, there's this:
