I don't know about "official", but IGN has used it [1]

[nja]

[up] That last one is just a search results page for "The Walking Dead The Game" on a site. None of the actual search results turn up that name.

Not just IGN it seems so official places have used as well. Remember Media can be called by more than just one name.

I'm good with moving the TV series to Series. The Walking Dead 2010 and the Telltale game to VideoGame. The Walking Dead The Game (though a small part of me wonders if using VideoGame. The Walking Dead Telltale instead would be more recognizable).

Should we disambiguate some of the other pages, too? I'm not sure if ComicBook. The Walking Dead has any sort of superiority when it comes to "claiming" subpages like YMMV without being moved, since it was the original work. (There's also Pinball. The Walking Dead, though the only collision occurring at the moment is that the game has single example on Trivia. The Walking Dead, which is otherwise entirely about the comic.)

Since the comic is the OG work disambiguating is probably not needed at least for now. The Pinball for now probably can stay, its the TV Series and Video Game causing all the problems.

[up] That makes sense.

In the meantime, I figured I would get on some of the other pages that have been identifying as colliding with each other but haven't been moved yet. There's two sets of pages I had in mind to start with, both relatively small in scale, and I have questions about both:

  1. The three works named Pandemonium identified by Synchronicity here. Anyone mind if I disambiguate them by year (as I outlined at the start of this post)? This should be a fairly simple move, but I wanted to make sure that there weren't any objections beforehand.
  2. Fanfic.Fire and Pinball.Fire. I noticed that the custom title is clashing - it's currently set as Fire! to reflect the pinball game, but the fic's title is FIRE! (all-caps). Going by the same logic as the Pandemonium pages above, I think some disambiguation is necessary. Should I just move the fic's page (to FIRE! (DarkMark), most likely) or move the pinball game's page as well? I'm basing the former option off of this quote from How to Create a Disambiguation Page:
Fanfics, because they are (by definition) derivative works, may be renamed with a disambiguation without requiring any other works that share the same name to be renamed.

I'd go with Fanfic.Fire Marvel, as it isn't a crossover so the source material is good enough disambiguation - unless there's something else called Fire linked to Marvel.

A quick AO3 search shows many Marvel fanfics just named "Fire". (Can't get an exact count cause we can't figure out how to make it not return fanfics with longer titles that merely contain "fire".)

But why would that be an issue none of them have pages. Nor is it likely they will get one, most fanfics don't get pages.

It's true that most fanfics don't get pages, but any fanfic could get a page. There's more than one Marvel fanfic named "Fire", so this one shouldn't get to be treated as the Marvel fanfic named Fire just because it's the first one someone felt like making a page for.

In that case the author can be used.

[up] I went ahead and moved it to Fanfic.Fire Dark Mark, to make things easier in case someone does end up making a page for another Marvel fic named Fire.

I'm still debating whether the pinball page should be moved as well. I only now realized that the custom title for that game applies to the Main/ disambiguation index as well (Fire) - this is probably not intentional.

So I moved the Walking Dead stuff as well as the subpages, now we will just need to move the wicks which there is a lot for both.

[up] I've been helping out whenever I can, for whatever it's worth.

In other news, I went ahead and moved the three Pandemonium pages previously mentioned to Literature.Pandemonium 2008, VideoGame.Pandemonium 1996, and TabletopGame.Pandemonium 1993. I left DarthWiki.Pandemonium as-is - I'm always a little wary about editing Unpublished Works since they're usually the brainchild of a specific troper - but submitted a custom title request to undo the exclamation point at the end.

Hmm... Body Count is for the band, which has Body Count (Album), which has the song "Body Count"...

Should we move music to Body Count Band? Or it makes sense to give the band priority over its Self-Titled Album and song?

Nice.

Mr. Sunshine (K-Drama) uses "K-Drama" to distinguish itself from Mr Sunshine. Neither are really wick-heavy, so moving to Series.Mr Sunshine 2011 and Series.Mr Sunshine 2018 would be doable, especially since there's an obscure 1986 show also called 'Mr. Sunshine'. Any objections?

[up] - Years are better. Agreed.

Should we move Thirteen to Thirteen 2003 or something because it's supposed to be "Thirteen", but Custom Title issues?

Wikipedia lists two other films titled Thirteen, a 1974 Hong Kong one and a 2010 Israeli one (the latter has two redlinks) so moving it there would be best.

Moved the Mr. Sunshines around.

I looked at Thirteen again and noticed that Series.Thirteen is also meant to be written out as Thirteen instead of 13 (as seen on this poster and in the title/description of this official trailer). Should I move it to Series.Thirteen 2016 for the wikiword?

Also, regarding Body Count and Body Count (Album) ([up]x6) - the sandbox Administrivia page about disambiguation notes (with emphasis added) that:

If two works share the same title, but one is a remake or adaptation of the first, then it is acceptable to create the sequel/reboot with a Retronym without moving the original work (like splitting a work and its adaptation into different pages). Fanfics, because they are (by definition) derivative works, may be renamed with a disambiguation without requiring any other works that share the same name to be renamed. Aside from these exceptions, we treat every work involved equally, moving each to a disambiguated version of the page.

However, Page Title Collision also notes that when a work and its first installment share a name, the latter is the only one that needs disambiguating. I think that logic applies to a band and their first, self-titled album (similar to Rush and Rush (Album)).

One last thing: I mentioned this a few days ago ([up]x9), but I wanted to rephrase it as a direct question. If a work's custom title is clashing with the Main/ disambiguation page, does the work need to be moved? I say this because Pinball.Fire has a custom title that causes Fire to have an exclamation point, which it almost certainly was not intended to have. Ordinarily, this is grounds for moving a page, but I wasn't sure if a disambiguation page that most people would not see would be exempt from this.

Nocturne and Nocturne (RPG Maker) are both Video Game...

Nothing wrong with Nocturne 1999, right?

[up][up] Yes, a self-titled album falls under that rule, and yes, a work page needs to be disambiguated if its custom title would collide with Main/.

[up] And while we're here, Fanfic.Nocturne to Fanfic.Nocturne Marvel. (It's primarily MCU but crosses the X-Men films in as well.)
