This is the thread to use if you feel that the page image itself is good but the caption needs help.
If you think that both the image and the caption are poor, please make a thread in Image Pickin' for the page, and we'll work on the image and caption both at the same time.
As with other TRS and IP threads, please state your reasons and make your case in your first post. Don't make the other posters spend time trying to pry it out of you.

It's not a one-episode joke. It's been several episodes and they still call him that. They also retroactively changed all captions and online material to say Tolkien. They might change it back but for at least a year now it's been Tolkien.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yet another "Does this caption add anything?" question where I'm reasonably sure the answer is "No". Does the caption on Vorpal Pillow add anything?

Listen to my podcastNot to me.
Nope.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I think it should go.
(Annoyed grunt)Sorry to dredge this up again, but a month ago I made a suggestion regarding the chained Sinkholes in the caption for the image on Hostility on the Set (to re-iterate the earlier post, "These" is potholed to Creator.Werner Herzog, "guys" to Creator.Klaus Kinski); namely, that it be changed to
"Klaus Kinski has a slight disagreement with Werner Herzog on the set of Cobra Verde. Unsurprisingly, it was the last film they made together."
(Second sentence can be dropped - or included as a note - if this is too long.)
RandomTroper123 appeared to be in favour of the change, but with no other votes either way, I've been hesitant to proceed, as two people (one of whom is me) doesn't feel like consensus. Anyone have any other thoughts?
I like the change too.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I have some thoughts about the page image for the Greedy Jew trope, but for now, I’m going to focus on the caption, which I think explains too much about the image.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I’m looking at the caption to Funny.Puss In Boots The Last Wish and I’m wondering if the pothole to another movie is allowed.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Either way it really adds nothing to the image.
"Squid has to go to market. He's had to go to market for as long as he's sucked water."That can be pulled.
We decided not to allow referential captions on work pages. It's pulled.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Regarding the Greedy Jew image, the caption is indeed pointless. But it's a bad image to begin with, because it requires explanation. The best solution would be to find a different image.
On an unrelated note, the caption on Lady Macbeth was rolled back from to the previously used
Which is not a good caption for the sole reason that the trope is about women goading men into doing villainous stuff. A caption which implies the woman is doing the villainous thing herself defeats the very trope we are trying to illustrate.

Let's just say and leave it at that.I will open the thread.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I was talking about kissing, and it was suggested to pothole "kiss" in HoYay.Digimon Adventure's caption to The Big Damn Kiss. Does it work?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I love the caption on Superpowerful Genetics, but it has a chained sinkhole. How do we fix it?
I'd like to apologize for all this.I wrote this on the discussion page for Megamix Game, but I thought it bears repeating here:
[The current page image caption is: "A gamer in the 90's would never believe these screenshots all came from a single game." I don't think this makes any sense.
All of those screenshots were from games made in the 90's, all of which had multiple stages, each of which had a different setting, all of which had a similar visual style. The screenshot collage could just as easily have been of six different stages from Sonic 3; each sub-image would have looked pretty different, but they obviously have the same style and 90's gamers (of which I am one) would definitely have believed they were from the same game. Furthermore, anyone unfamiliar with the six games represented in that collage would likely say that they're from the same game, just because they look so similar. It's just too plausible that all of those screenshots could be from a single game.
I was in the process of writing all that as my edit reason when I went to change the caption, but after thinking for quite awhile I couldn't think of a suitable caption to replace it with. So I'm speaking up here instead. I'll keep thinking on it, and if I come up with something in the next few days then I'll go ahead and change it. Otherwise, if people reply to this and suggest something suitable, great, we can change it to that. Otherwise, uh... well, I think there's a third option but I'm blanking now (probably the same blanking I was just doing when trying to think of a new caption just a bit ago). Anyway, I'll check back later and see if this goes anywhere.]
I think it would be fine if we simply removed both, the caption is pretty self explanatory
The Gunslinger's image totally deserves adding some referrence to the guy's massive moustache in the caption, but I can't think of any. Any suggestions?

Humankind is like a train. No matter how powerful the locomotive is, it can only travel as fast as its slowest car allows it to.Does the caption of Trademark Favorite Food make any sense? What does pizza has to do with Totally Radical?
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.The Ninja Turtles are Totally Radical or so the troper who added that thought.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. The turtles actually said "radical" a lot. The trope can be unlinked.
Hooking a crowner for Freefall Romance and Fetus Terrible.
Canadian Western has a note in the caption just talking about how loonies didn't exist in the Old West. That seems really pointless and kind of "umm akshually!"s all over the joke. Can I cut it?
Yes, unhelpful.
Considering it was a mostly one episode joke in the show, and changing the spelling ruins the caption's joke, I'd suggest just reverting the caption back to saying "Token Black".
"Squid has to go to market. He's had to go to market for as long as he's sucked water."
