In October of 2022, Shigeo Kageyama has everything he could ever want. Spirits and Such is, comically, somehow still in business, despite Reigen's promises to retire someday, he and Ritsu are still attached at the hip well into college, and he even runs with the old Body Improvement Club on the weekends, and makes efforts to follow Touichirou's rehabilitation in prison.

...until the one thing he's feared since he was 14 happens.

Story: The Taking of Vengeance

Description: Sunny finally told Kel, Aubrey, and Hero the truth, earning their wrath. Weeks later Sunny returns to Faraway, where the three of them intend to make him pay for his crimes. But as it turns out, their revenge isn't exactly what Sunny expected.

Comments: Despite the way it initially presents itself, this is actually a pretty light-hearted with story, with "revenge" amounting to either inconsequential Restrained Revenge or Cool and Unusual Punishment.

Something cute I wrote. I really like how this turned out for some reason, so I am posting it for others to enjoy if they wish.

Title: Asriel's Mystery Dungeon

Fandom: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon / Undertale

Status: In-Progress

Description:

After being approached by a strange being, Asriel finds himself falling into an entirely new world.

There, an universe away from home, he finds himself in a new adventure, with new yet strangely familiar friends. All the while, a lingering question remains on the horizon.

What happens to the world, when the world itself loses its Will?

Notes: This was a concept I had years ago that I decided to start writing now, while I'm in between larger projects. It basically came about from the realization that Azelf and Mesprit each have a very thematically similar role in their own universe to some of the major themes of Undertale... and Azelf in particular has a quite similar name to Asriel.

I can't say much more without spoiling, but the sibling relationship between Azelf and Mesprit is extremely thematically central to the overall plot and is deliberately written to parallel some other things that happened in Undertale. There will be many, many more parallels too, often in the form of Pokemon characters being direct counterparts to Undertale's main cast.

Also seemed fitting to write now, since Toby Fox has now officially done work on Pokemon.

Passing the Torch

Fandom: Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Description: When Rex wakes up in the Dreamworld Elysium after being stabbed in the back by Jin, it isn't a redheaded girl he meets, but a blonde. Mythra, the Legendary Aegis, wishes to pass her power on to the young salvager, but can he succeed where she failed five hundred years in the past?

Notes: This is my take on the "Pyra/Mythra give Rex their powers rather than make him into their Driver" plot (Of which there have been three others, but two died within the first four chapters, and a third that didn't instead stuck religiously to the stations of the canon.)

I've taken the story in a slightly different direction than the others using the same basic plot, leaning more into the implications of Rex being a Blade Eater (which, combined with an (unwilling) early reveal of Nia's Flesh Eater status, has caused some changes with the dynamics of the party.) I'm trying very hard to keep the story from just becoming "Xenoblade Chronicles 2 but Mythra is dead and Pyra never existed."

This is very much not a fast-paced story. I've been putting just as much focus on the journey between plot beats as the beats themselves, spending time fleshing out character interactions within the party as well as throwing in both original and reworked side content to keep them busy between major story events. On the other hand, I also update weekly, so the slower pacing is hopefully less of a concern.

The battle is over, ALLMIND and Iguazu lay defeated and Coral Release is unleashed upon humanity without their interference, creating a new world where humanity and Coral are given a chance to co-exist with their free will intact, and all the uncertainties that come with it. The die has been cast, but neither Raven or Ayre will be able to see it through.

Swept up by the singularity caused by Coral Release, they awaken in a strange new world with strange new enemies to fight. One thing they were sure about, was that in these Grimm-filled skies, Raven must fight on.

Notes: This is an idea I had after binge playing Armored Core VI all three endings within two weeks and becoming obsess with mechs (well, again anyways), but then I started thinking what would happen if crossed with RWBY. Started as a side-project and escalated beyond that. Book 1 of a series I have planned.

Slight body-horror warning as there are a few scenes describing augmented pilots in terrible conditions comparable with a Dreadnought in Warhammer 40k.

Synopsis:

A sequel to Covert Operations.

The year is 2023. Years have passed after a conspiracy involving a mysterious Antisocial Force dedicated to subverting the legitimate Japanese government was taken down.

The Center dispatches its agents to investigate paranormal events happening in Toyama Prefecture after rumors of Apathy Syndrome began to appear on the Darknet. Tasked to investigate what was happening in Ayanagi City, they learn that a figure from the past may be responsible for it.

His name? Keisuke Komatsubara. A target for both the Center and the Assassins for his involvement in said research that eventually led to the existence of the mysterious syndrome. But it's not the only thing that the agents need to worry about.

With the reputation of Komatsubara's research, certain organizations have decided to make themselves know by coming out of the woodwork to try their luck with Persona (and to some extent, demon) research. It's up to the Center (mostly) to put a stop to it. Or die trying.

Notes: Mostly a sequel to my Persona 4-based fic "Covert Operations". This is meant to be a(n) (eventual) trilogy of fics that would end based on some mythos taken from Shin Megami Tensei.

Notes: JJK AU where Geto is alive during the main series, and is the one to retrieve Itadori's body after Sukuna kills him in the Curse Womb arc. Ensuing cult indoctrination, psychological breaking, and lots of Itadori questioning his short life as a jujutsu sorcerer. Contains blood, gore, and major character death at the end.

Description: The first of five fics focusing on the most incompetent Gods of Destruction in the Dragon Ball Super series. Like the other four, Book 1 is set in an AU where ultra-powerful ancient deities return from their exile to take revenge on Grand Zen-Oh a year after the Tournament of Power. Mass disappearances, magic-fueled mutations, and plenty of other non-Geneva Convention compliant shenanigans ensue. At the center of it all is an strange world rife with conflict and bloodshed, one whose gods are seeking to conquer (or otherwise influence/transform) other realities for as yet unknown purposes.

As the title suggests, Book 1 focuses on Beerus the Destroyer, who finds himself brought down to mortality, exiled to Universe 7's Earth, and in need of a place to live in as he trains under Son Goku and the Z-Fighters, hoping to regain his powers, while also confronting eons worth of guilt and trauma over his sins and past. If you're a fan of angst and psychological drama, then you're gonna love Beerus's journey in search for closure, peace, redemption, and love.

Notes: Geene and Arak also appear as secondary protagonists, each with their own story to tell and familial traumas to come to terms with. Let's just say I really went out of my way to humanize these Gods of Destruction...

Are quests allowed? I figure this one counts, since it's a fan work. It's a Pokémon quest, and it starts off following the plot of Pokémon HeartGold, but I'm totally expecting things to go off the rails sooner or later, and in fact, I'm looking forward to it. This is my first quest, and I'm having fun with it so far, though I don't have much yet. In fact, I just posted the thread yesterday!

Also, the voting system is a bit different — first there's a write-in vote, then I pick the best/most fitting/most interesting write-ins, and then there's a second vote with those write-ins as the options. Because of this, each vote only lasts a day or so.

As I write this, we're still in the process of voting on the protagonist's name (and gender, which is determined by whether the winning name is masculine or feminine), as well as their goal for their journey. Votes are appreciated!

New fic for Kingdom Hearts! It's a canon divergence AU.

(First chapter is on the shorter side, but that's because it's a prologue. Second chapter is the usual length, as I aim for 3-4K words per chapter.)

Summary:

Destiny is never left to chance, except for when it is.

Xehanort may be dead for good, and much earlier than expected, but a scapegoat is still needed, and so Vanitas finds himself rescued from oblivion. Seeking a reunion with his light, his search brings him to Destiny Islands, where he meets a young boy with his face — the boy who is hiding Ventus’s heart. Vanitas takes Sora away through a dark corridor, with Riku in hot pursuit.

Through the years of utter hell under Vanitas’s “care” that follow, Sora can only keep himself together by thinking of his and Riku’s promise to one day escape and see the worlds together, just as they’d dreamed of before everything started.

Even so, promises are fragile things, empty more often than not, and the innocent intentions of children can only exist for so long before they become something else entirely.

(This is my first "serious" KH fic.)
