Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Ms Oranje Disco Dancer — we don't, but we do have the trope "Nighthawks" Shot, as well as a page for its creator, Edward Hopper, that lists tropes for it (well, just one at the moment: Chiaroscuro).

I'd like to apologize for all this.ahh that's probably what i was looking at (the creator page, i mean)
@ultimatum - iirc a lot of them got removed, i remember one prominent troper (ninjacrat) tried removing a bunch of their links. this was back when natter was out of control too
hail, holy queen of the sea, you're whirling-in-rags, you're vast and you're sadI used to feel bad that some of my Moments entries were removed but then I realized the importance of context and meaningful meat to examples.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I feel like I'm the opposite in that I over explain my moments examples and then wonder if I went overboard lol.
Not in the gushing sense, more in the "does this really warrant this much info" sense

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI dont think that could happen, you are a very good troper, you know what to incluse to give meat, and what to keep out to make the examples read easier and retain wit.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.TMH-Sir-Iron-Vomit: I'm not sure, but this draft from 2013 got launched a week ago.

Welcome to Corneria!I'm doing some work on a page for WarioWare: Move It!, and while realistically the image caption should be the tagline on the back of the box, I'm super tempted to instead put "I like to move it, move it" or some variant.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?Maybe you could put "I like to move it, move it" on a subpage instead.
Welcome to Corneria! It's a shame you can't do that with Alt Text.
Further, your affiant sayeth naught.Swords to Plowshares was first drafted in 2012 but didn't get launched until last year because the name issue sent it into trope Development Hell.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Another trope that I remember experienced trope Development Hell due to naming troubles is Stock Light-Novel Calamity Princess (it was really hard to come up with a short and snappy name for that character archetype).
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!Yesterday I learned that when you launch a trope, the edit reason still mentions YKTTW.
How long did Stock Light-Novel Calamity Princess last in the Launch Pad?
Oo oo ah ahTwisted Tropes losing examples to cleanups is very sad.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThat it has less than 100 wicks and examples implies there's a lot more to find.
Also it has Stockholm Syndrome.
Goodnight
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576There are definitely no more to find due to its own premise.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI just saw the list of tropes banned from having video examples for the first time. It's a lot shorter than I would have expected.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?- Would this dialogue not be Smurfing, which isn't already on the page?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I'm honestly surprised the page isn't, like, an archive or something.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessRip The Dog, it has now become a hotdog.
I find the dog snowclones rather amusing as so many of them created a Running Gag of sorts.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWe spend so much time on these tropes only for them to just be cut in the end, it's almost like a "Shaggy Dog" Story.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Unlimited Saga is filled with Un-Kosher troping, but I dont know the game well enough to give context, so all I can do for now is remove the most blatant misuse such as calling the Final Boss That One Boss
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.If we had launched Obnoxious Entitled Housewife under its original name, I can guarantee we would get examples like this:
The Karen: Subverted. Despite being named Karen, she's actually very nice.
From the page.
It is possible, it's just not automatic. I'm surprised Dracula from Castlevania: Dracula X isn't listed.
I'd like to apologize for all this.
I have come to agree that our Three Laws of Gender Bending are a holdover from a different time. They are Tropes in Aggregate, which is already a problem for listing examples, but the style themselves as "laws" and not just trends. And I'm not convinced the second and third were ever all that strong, and they have weakened a lot since. On top of that is their non-indicative names; if made today, they might be called MtF Is More Common In Fiction, Accepting The Unwanted Sex Change, and Easy Social Transition.
However, there is an interesting two-step evolution of the second that I see among the examples: first came the understanding that being in a body of the wrong sex causes life-long distress and isn't something you can just settle into, so these characters were written as already trans but not knowing; then later come works that use partial acceptance as a way to explore sexuality and gender, especially non-binary identities. So while I think they may need an overhaul (if only to mark them as outdated tropes in aggregate), they have some value.

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.
