Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

First time I've heard of Anti-Shurtugal
New theme music also a boxThe litmus test was fun, actually. I did it with my characters for years, for reason other than that I was bored, not legitimately concerned about their sue-ness. It was fun to get validation once though when I plugged a character from a show that everyone called a Mary Sue into it, and saw that she did in fact rank as a Mary Sue. Fun times.
It definitely explains the entirety of Common Mary Sue Traits, which might've been one of the first pages I've stumbled across on this wiki.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI still think the Litmus test is pretty useful, although I'd like an updated one that excises all of the stuff about how the character relates to yourself/the creator, and focus purely on the way the character is written or handled.

"Grandmaster Combat, son!"True, plus the whole section about fanfic stuff was worthless to me because I either only write OG stories or only write Original Flavor fanfic without any Original Characters involved. So I think my scores were always lower than average for that alone.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessNo one can seem to agree where trope examples for Metroidvania games should go: under Action/Adventure or under Platformers. Some pages will have them under the former folder, some under the latter folder, and I'm sure there are pages where you can find games in the subgenre under both folders.
I'm pretty young on this wiki, and according to the threads Parable linked on the previous page (the threads being here and here), there was an effort a decade ago to move all of the website's demons over to Darth Wiki, and then try to cut off Darth Wiki from the rest of the site (and perhaps to kill it off later). In other words, the internet equivalent to hiding something you don't like in the floorboards or walls of your house so that nobody talks about it.
Seeing as Darth Wiki is still alive and kicking, I would say this operation failed (with some victories like nuking Wall Banger).

Please visit the "AITA" forum gameI think the failure in this regard is for the best. I happen to like Darth and Sugar Wiki, and actually it saddens me that they're so cut off from the rest of the wiki (you have to really try to find them if you don't know how to search for them).
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessNot in my experience. When I came here, I kept stumbling into Darth Wiki pages by complete accident.
Please visit the "AITA" forum gameThere's several pages I found once years ago and then couldn't go back to because I couldn't remember what they were called. Every time I found them again it was like re-discovering a hidden gem.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessDarth Wiki can be a struggle to navigate to, but I find it really easy to get to Sugar Wiki. Pretty much every YMMV page for a reasonably popular work can get you there.
But only because people break the sugar wiki rules, though :P
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOccasionally, I look at some of the work pages listed in the Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining sandbox to see if I can rewrite some of the entries to make them sound less like complaints. One YMMV trope that I always have difficulty with is Bile Fascination, because I see it as a YMMV with inherently negative connotation, but at the same time, I often don't see a way to contest it. I mean, it certainly applies to me, given that it's a reason why I have knowledge of some of the works in question.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?Same. I tend to just leave those examples alone as long as the wording isn't too mean, since the fact of the matter is... yeah, some works attract attention precisely because people hate and complain about them all the time. It's hard to sugarcoat that.
Same. I've created pages for some of the worst shows out there (e.g Fairview, Santa Inc. etc) partially out of that trope and partially just to have it catalogued. With Fairview though, couldn't make it past the second episode.

There was an attempt at a Bile Fascination TRS not long ago by a younger, dumber, and less experienced version of me that ended with on-page examples being restored. I started a cleanup in Short-Term actually recently for the trope.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallSpeaking of complaining, new Chip and Dale movie seem to be quite a hot topic today.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupYeah, I noticed. I thought it was great since it appeals to my humour, although I can see why someone wouldn’t like it.
I'm mostly just confused because Peter is a recurring character in Jake And The Neverland Pirates, so if they were being accurate to the lore he wouldn't have been fired at all.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOh yea, that movie. I don't know much about the original cartoon or the movie itself so I can't really have a stance on it.
The reason why I know about it is because I logged into Know Your Meme this morning and found a flood of trending posts about how a bug had sex with a mouse.

Please visit the "AITA" forum gameWait, what? Do I even want to know what that's about?
I’m gonna put some Gloom in your eye.Yeah, I have heard that it's good except for the Peter Pan stuff, which yeesh. I really hope they were trying to make a deliberate call out there.
The literal only thing I know about is the Bobby Driscoll controversy. And that Ugly Sonic is in it for some reason.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIt's a great example of how movies don't need to have a plot as long as they have a multiverse with cameos all the nerd sites can gush over. Maybe it's good, maybe it sucks, doesn't matter cuz hey, look at all the properties Disney can afford!
So of course it's going to be controversial on this site, it's referencing everything nerds love and hate, even if only briefly.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
